Let's get straight to the point~

Minthe can exist anywhere she wants. Whether it be in a different universe, an audio RP (hehe), or in a game. With just a ring of her bell, she'll be teleported there to lurk from the shadows.

The underworld is surrounded by a series of rivers: The Acheron, river of woe. The Cocytus, river of lamentation. The Phlegethon, river of fire. The Styx, river of unbreakable oath. and The Lethe, river of forgetfulness. <- Liya was created by Cocytus, along with her sisters.

Year is 1683

After being assigned to go collect a human soul for the first time, she accidentally fell in love with the mortal land, getting distracted by it. So instead of collecting the soul of the dead human so they could properly pass, they instead started touring around, watching the markets, stage shows, etc. completely forgetting about her mission.

Unfortunately for Minthe, her forgetting to collect the soul caused a..slight troublesome event for the mortals. Since the soul wasn't harvested, the body was still alive despite the heart no longer beating, causing quite a freakout in the city, which led to a lot of crazy theorists rioting and semi still sane people leaving the land.

After her father found out about Minthe's terrible mistake, he cast her out of their home, with a quest on her hands.

"prove you're still worthy to call yourself a child of mine, and you shall return. Fail, and you'll be drowned in the river of Lethe, forever to forget."

The problem was...he never told her what her quest was. He basically just told her to "fuck around, find out, and pray I agree."

A year later. Minthe was travelling along the mortal land in the late 16th century of Scotland, searching for a clue to what her quest was, when she met a woman in her early 20s, her name was Liya.

They befriended each other quite fast! Uh, before Liya was hanged and then burned at the stake for the accusation of being a witch. Yeah, that messed up Minthe up quite a bit.

After that sad event, she named herself Liya, as a little momentum to her friend, and an almost rebellious act towards her father.

Year is 1832

After almost 200 years of pointless searching, Liya finally relented and went back down to the underworld to ask what her quest even was

On her way to the underworld. Liya meets a kitten! A cute, slightly injured one. She takes the feline under her wing, planning to soak the cat in the river of Styx so it'll live an immortal life with her! Just like how Thetis did to her son, Achilles.

Now, walking from the mortal realm to the underworld is a long, long way, taking almost 5 years by just walking. So instead Liya decides to find a shrine of Hermes, to ask him to guide her into the realm of the undead. But after searching and searching, she found all the shrines...but the ones dedicated to Hermes.

In a fit of frustration, she destroyed a shrine dedicated to the goddess of Spring, angering her badly.

In punishment, she cursed them. Killing her feline companion, and making a mint plant grow inside of her stomach. Forcing Liya to endure a century of suffocation from the plant, but never dying of it.

Who/What inspired my muses

I can’t believe I’m doing this oh it’s going to suck so much

Part 1 because it got long because I’m wordy

Veritas: In high school I was friends with two “the art kids”. I, meanwhile, was the bookworm/writer. We all thought it’d be fun to make a comic, them drawing and me writing the dialogue, so we all said we’d come up with characters from it. Mine ended up being an elf who wore long swishy skirts and fought with dual blades and one of them drew out the design for me. The comic, haha, never got far but when I got interested in doing Tumblr rp I looked at that initial oc idea and reworked it into Veritas. The only real remnants of that origin is, well, elf. And her two swords. But I mean, my interest in fleshing out my brand of elves led to what is what I actually consider a big part of my blog-- my elves. So a lot stemmed from that initial, silly and fun idea between three kids. I’m actually still best friends with one of those girls to this day!

Vendere: My second attempt at making a less morally pure muse after my real second-but-now-removed muse Tamashi ended up nice despite my wishes. I can’t say much of the thought process behind Ven other than his name being a continuation of a Latin theme I had started with Veritas and decided to keep going, which you will continue to see later on too. The only thing I can remember is choosing his name because it was the Latin verb for “to sell”, because info broker, and because I went, “Haha and I can call him V.en like in K.ingdom H.earts.” A lot of big brain ideas going on back when I was sixteen, of which I can’t even make jokes because I’ve done it again with muses fairly recently. In retrospect it makes no sense why his Italian parents would name him that but thus is my 16-year-old-idea oc burden to bear.

Jianhuren: My first muse who I added with the intent to have a bit of a storyline going! I also! Can’t remember why I got the idea for a form shifting person who  was an amnesiac. I’m fairly certain it was an idea that came straight out of my head. At the time, I hadn’t even intended to make a species of dragons, the Red Eyes from them. So it’s kind of why they may seem a bit different in feel or canon or themes or whatever from the other Red Eyes. We were winging it, baby!!

Somnio: Oh my gosh I can’t say I’ll do this and keep saying I don’t remember for these muses! I’m sorrrryyyy these were like a good six or so years ago! I think inspiration. I think maybe the feeling of days and friends gone/soon to be gone from Summertime Record inspired him regarding his feelings towards his dead friend? At the very least, I was listening to that song a lot when I added him and I was definitely thinking of him when I did it. The “Sayonara” part always really stuck out to me.

Amara: Me: What if I did a phoenix. Me: Oh, I see phoenixes in this sense have been pointed at from coming from either or both Greek and Egyptian myth let’s make both of those his background as a fun little easter egg. Me: what if I made a muse so tragic--

Qingshan: Here we see Red Eye lore starting to take more shape! Originally I had just said that Jianhuren was attacked by a monster or something, but I then had a thought of what if it were a betrayal and the monster story is just what was told? A lot of Qingshan’s vibes and the idea to do an evil or “bad” muse came from listening to Sacrifice from Rwby! Since I had just recently gotten into it. And I mean, the music rocks. Wait.....the lyrics never quite fit Qingshan at the time but now I’m realizing they fit Zhaohui well.... hm.

Ren: More desire to expand upon my elf lore that I had started with Veritas. And a desire to touch more on the trafficking issue that elves face. Then I just thought it’d be cool to give a muse the powerset of basically the Avatar-- with setbacks.

Kareena: You know me, I’m always going to look at a predominantly white-assumed category and go, “how can I make this more Brown(tm)? Elves are always so stereotypically white in the media I saw, and I’ve always had a desire to see myself represented in fantasy genres I love so much. Veritas was actually supposed to be brown, but she was my first oc and I couldn’t find a fc that fit what I imagined for her and had brown skin, I just changed it to match her fc. Now, I clearly don’t care, haha. Anyways, Kareena was me wanting to make a brown elf, and also a differently abled one too, and I settled on her being blind. I thought it’d be an interesting study since elves have heightened and stronger senses, and here was someone who was born without one. I will say, she wasn’t perfect representation at the time, since I unknowingly fell into a bad trap of “blind person uses super senses to get around anyways with no issue”, which is something I learned later that a lot of blind people don’t like to see in media about visually impaired people! The importance of doing research beforehand, kids. Especially if you’re writing of a culture, lifestyle, or experience you haven’t lived.

William/Thanatos: .......................ok.........I don’t...........remember, sorry. To explain a little, “Thanatos” actually existed on my blog as a man named William O’Connor! A man who had died but still lived on by some raw accidental deal made by his mom to some sort of death-like entity. I only remember that I was thinking on him back when I was in another state visiting by undergrad for like the first time? And Gen Con was going on and I had like just stuck my toe into C.ritical R.ole, but I don’t know if any of that actually influenced William. Anyways, I had no intention to actually ever state or clarify what “Death” was as I intended for It to just be some sort of amalgamation of different interpretations of Death. But later on I thought it’d open up for some more interesting opportunities if I put a name to the thing and had it able to interact and do a little more. Maybe a bit before Dawn came around, for reasons?

Lucia: I had mentioned in Ren’s backstory that he ran with a group of elves when he was a kid on the streets and I’d already established another, Aeon (who’s now a side muse) so I thought it’d be fun to pick out who their de facto leader was. And I thought it’d be funny if she seemed like the least intimidating-looking person ever, but absolutely was the leader of them all for good reason. I then picked up my “angsty backstory” hammer, and I then gave her a prompt solid whack with it.

Alexa: “Okay, so I touched on the elf trafficking, but what if I did what happened when one was successfully trafficked?” Et voila. 

Val: ‘Kristen, you just added Alexa, and sure you established she has a partner but you don’t need to full on add him as a muse-- oh no how did he get on my muse page.’ Alexa and Val are also meant to be foils in the way they deal with their servitude, with Alexa having given in and Val still being rebellious. Plus, I just love non-romantic soulmates. Mwah.

Imani: “I want a Black muse. An unambiguously Black muse. Make her an elf too while I’m at it.” I love sibling dynamics and I’m a sucker and wimp for older sibling dynamic stories too so that also came into play with her and her younger brother.

// Ever since I moved here, I decided I'd take graphics making to a very minimalistic degree. I've been preferring to make banners, instead of relying on icons for RPs. My headers also became a lot simpler, from what they used to be like.

I like the new trend of using fancier fonts, and leaving it at that.

what is your favourite part about using this platform to roleplay on?

// NGL, I've been preferring to do my RPs on Discord, rather than Tumblr. I think Tumblr is great when it comes to looking for partners (especially reconnecting with old ones, in the fandoms I rejoined), but overall I've been far more active via discord. But there are still somethings from Tumblr, I can't really get out of discord.

Case in point, the queue feature is my favorite thing ever. The fact I can control when a reply is posted, and I can pace them out to give time and space for me and my partners is chef's kiss. I can't do a lot of back and forth, I'm not a fast replier. I'd rather if my partners took all the time they need to write, than rush in for a reply.

what have you learned by proxy of roleplaying and rp researching?

// A lot, honestly.

Back when I used to RP my YGO muses, I had to do a lot of research about Japan and Egyptian mythology as well. Through my Castlevania muses, I had to re-study a lot of european history and got to learn some new details about the Eastern Europe's history. I did a big deep dive into SW lore, for my muses from that series, which was awesome.

And more recently, I'm learning a lot more about the Northern and Northeastern regions of Brazil, because that's where one of my muses originated from. So, it has been a lot of fun to learn about their local costumes, culinary and history. Beyond what I studied back in HS!

Also, I thought I had six weeks off, but I looked at the dates, and I actually have close to eight, so... that’s a huge woot right there. In the next few days, as I get some rest and recover mentally from these past two hell weeks, I will be on here with more regularity and will be able to write a lot more. =)

For now, I’m going to post a mun meme and then try to get to some replies if possible. We’ll see how it goes, heh. I’m not gonna lie, I’m really, really tired and my brain is mush right now, so don’t expect wonders from me on here tonight.

I do have another announcement: I’m bringing back one more muse from about a year long hiatus while I’m off from work and have more time to rp. Yuugi likes to eat hamburgers. But he does so with more restrain. Especially after his graduation as he wants to stay fit enough.

As far as school performance goes, Yuugi was below average. But after the events of DM, his marks improved vastly.

Yuugi's favorite seasons are autumn and spring.

Yuugi does make upgrades for his deck, especially after his duel with Atem. Still his ace monster remains The Dark Magician and maintains then with Spellcasters and Warriors. As well as rock type.

Yuugi does duel online with his friends and so far he hasn't had a loss. But did duel with Anzu to a draw a few times.

Yuugi's orientation is biromantic. But he is neutral in terms on leaning.

Yuugi rarely watches movies and TVs and prefers to read and play. The former is morr about Ancient Egypt lore as he is keen on learning more about it.

Aside from speaking Japanese and basic English, Yuugi is interested in studying Arab, Ancient Egyptian language, as well as Latin, Irish, French and Hindi.

Yuugi is preferably a bottom. But he holds no qualms of dominating his mate if it happens to be in the same position. Still, he can sometimes tease his dom, if he works the courage to do so.

Yuugi admits about making naive and wrong decisions in the past. But he doesn't dwell highly on them as he can learn from such experiences.

so  the  first  anime  i  probably  ever  watched  was  yu-gi-oh.  one  of  my  biggest  blogs  ever  on  this  hellsite  was  my  original  atem  blog  which  amassed  1k  followers  when  i  actually  gave  a  damn  about  having  the  support  of  the  community.  the  anime  is  well  over  20  years  old  and  you  know,  when  i  made  the  blog,  i  assumed  the  fandom  would  be  pretty  quiet  and  obscure  ---  an  escape  for  me  from  the  other  big  time  fandoms  i  dabbled  in  but  ho  boy  was  i  wrong.

no  one  ever  REALLY  leaves  that  fandom.  for  all  the  bat  shit  crazies  i  met  in  it,  there  was  also  a  slew  of  genuinely  cool  people  who  were  passionate  about  the  Egyptian  lore  and  of  course,  card  games.  my  very  best  RP  friend  and  soulmate  was  met  in  that  fandom.  i  will  never  have  another  priest  like  her.  and  then  there’s  the  wife,  who  listens  to  me  cry  over  all  the  things  cos  i  suck  about  as  much  as  atem  when  it  comes  to  techno  things.  my  crazy  kaibar (  you know  who  you  are  )  and  a  few  others  who  have  come  and  gone.

anyway,  its  sad  to  hear  about  the  passing  of  the  creator.  his  characters  were  one  half  of  my  childhood.  and  i  STILL  have  that  grumpy  pharaoh  as  one  of  my  mains.  sad  we  won’t  be  getting  anymore  chapters  from  him;  any  fleshing  out  of  stories  im  sure  he  wanted  to  dig  into  eventually.  as  for  me,  i  enjoy/enjoyed  what  its  given  me  over  the  years  which  is  a  way  to  perfect  my  art  and  bring  some  fun  to  people  who  actually  enjoy  my  interpretation  of  his  main  character.  the  field  of  reeds  is  getting  a  good  soul;  certain  a  certain  pharaoh  and  his  court  will  welcome  him  with  all smiles.  rest  in  power  kazuki  takahashi!

Nords actually from Skyrim/Humans were always on Tamriel: Can’t find original discussion on this, but if i had to take a stab at it i’d guess it theorizes that in the origin myth, Old Aldmeris is Tamriel, and the wandering/old ehlnofey migrated from it, only to migrate back. EDIT: One user suggested it may be from Pocket Guide to the Empire (Old Redguard lore, take it with a grain of salt) which is canonically Imperial propaganda to justify their rule. PGE states that the predecessors to the Nords migrated to Atmora, while others remained (Nedes). This is used by the imperials to justify their rule/colonization over all of Tamriel. However, critical thinking needs to be applied here, (as it should be with most of tes) as I’ve seen this theory used to justify colonialism as a whole. Going well beyond the games, by stating the right to rule is determined by what you conquer.

I’ve been going through the Bastet book from “Werewolf: The Apocalypse” to make RP memes so I of course inevitably had to make a Bastet. The Bastet are werecats, and there’s nine tribes, each corresponding to a different type of cat. Most are real-world big cats, but the Bubasti are a fictional Egyptian species called a “Kyphur cat” which seems to be a moderately sized wildcat that looks like the cliche SLINKY BLACK EGYPTIAN CAT but larger (and probably without natural eyeliner) Probs not gonna do anything with her, just wanted to draw. They’re often called “shadowcats” and so I uncreatively named this girl Zil, which is Arabic for “shadow”. She’s got the same look all Bubasti do---skinny and long-limbed, black hair, dusky skin, green eyes, and very attractive. All Bubasti also hunger for knowledge, devouring all the lore they can, but Zil seems a bit annoyed by the amount of book-learning she’s being expected to do by her elders! Which makes sense---she was one of the very rare (long story) Bubasti born in feline form, not human form, so reading isn’t really her learning style.

so its super funny right !? i didn’t actually choose her, she chose me. like, i tried to write her 4 years ago, but i didn’t remain true to myself && i wrote the disney-fied version of her && hated it. i got so bitter && upset && i swore to myself ( because i heard her calling to me the moment i returned to tumblr ) that i would really make her my own && go more lore based. && BAM !! my little angel went from my multi-muse to her own separate one. 

but in all honesty, i picked her because she made me feel IMPOWERED && inspired. like she fits my moods, && she inspires me every single day to do better for myself && in all honesty, makes me feel like i can be the person i want to be, verses what people expect me to be. 

idk man i just... i adore her so much. she is legit one of the lights in my life.

YES !! i used to actually play Uchiha Sasuke way back in the day, in between my first blog aka Anakin Skywalker && my third Jace Herondale ( who is now a side blog to this one lmao ). I loved the character  && i tried really hard to do right by him, but i only lasted about four months because he got too heavy for me.

so i mean... it really depends ? i take a lot from chinese Mythology, lore && of course cultural stories that help me to inspire the background of Mulan. but i also watch soooo much chinese drama’s especially period pieces && i gotta tell you, i take a lot of inspiration, especially for plot from there. 

but also too, music. like i won’t lie, Avril Lavine, Lindsey Stirling && a few others help me kinda inspire her && she feels there music hard in my head, so i usually point a lot of references && respect in there direction. 

but my best inspirations again, come from the lore && mythology, because there is just so much rich history you can take from there && it helps inspire you to write && makes you think thoughts like, “OH HOW DO I INCORPERATE THIS INTO HER STORY?”. 

also another inspiration && i can’t say this enough, is my RP partners ( especially @skjebne​ , @xthesparequeen  && @oraclefreed ). when they send me things saying how it “made me think of mulan” && or “this our muses”, && come up with brilliant plot ideas && sit there for hours listening to me talk about my muses ? its just not only inspiring, but helps me focus && flesh my girl out to life.

How They came to be : OOC Origins and concepts of Tejshar Arcanubis

I get asked questions about Tejshar ALOT and a great many people want to rp in the world he is creating, as well as find out all the little bits of information this asshole brings to the table. So I thought I’d give a little and go from there. Tejshar is over six years old and so this is long. TLDR? Tej is awesome and you should send me your asks if there is something specific you want to know.

Tejshar was created in 2013 for a story in another game. He was actually called Tejshar Me’aina. However, FFXIV had taken my focus and so I left that game completely.  At the end of 2014 and early 2015, a group of rpers lead in part by an alt of @daughteroflyrre  Reached out to me to create a villain and in fact a godmode villain to be at the heart of their FC story. I was gitty, for I already had the greatest Sin eating god of the stars they could ask for. Tejshar.

The original concept for Tejshar came from the sand covered and Egyptian inspired zone of … Uldum. Yep that’s right, I used to rp on Warcraft. Put the tomatoes down, everyone started somewhere :P, Of course, I was thrilled with the idea of a void god made from the creation of titans and invoked by a world-ending machine dormant in the sand. On top of that? I am a HUGE Stargate fan and so titans + tech+ Eygpt? So done. However, there was something missing from the equation. A mastermind of magic and manipulation. After all, the best kind of villains are the ones you hate to love and secretly want to win, right? Queue.. The Goblin King. It wasn’t quite right. A fallen angel with the knowledge of truth and the desire to push you just a little over the edge? Lucifer the angel of light. (pre-Lucifer show, though thank you to @shroudwayman for introducing me to it)

In FFXIV however, the Egyptian inspiration was missing from the game and I struggled at first to give life to him. How could I throw this creation of love that I really hadn’t been able to give a true chance to, in a game where he would be breaking all the rules and ruffling some ooc feathers of ooc rp lore? Well..

First I said fuck it. I wasn’t making Tejshar for the masses, I was making it for a small group of people who would kill him eventually, as was intended.

Second I started to do some research in lore to find all the lovely little grey zones to play in. The first one that came up? The Temple of Nald’thal, the Heavens and Hells they created, as well as the now very character famous, cowry. The Cowry, of course, is very much associated with Egyptian culture and so I found my first in. It wasn’t quite enough to bring in all that Tejshar is but it was a start. The next problem? What to make him? I mean.. Elezen are sexy but they don’t scream “MONSTER”.

Well Yoshi P had the answer for me. An Au Ra coming soon… and oh that benchmark. Needless to say, Tejshar became alive, simply biding his time to enter the world. As he waited and schemed, I played more of the game and started taking note of anything and everything I could that would give more credence to how and why someone like Tejshar would exist.

So now you have a Goblin King, Anubis looking, Monster covered in Gold, and the IC happens. People love him. So much so .. that they refuse to kill him. In fact, he outlived the FC he was made for. Didn’t stop people giving me crap for making him, let alone rping him. Lore was my friend though. LINK to the old post.

And so Tejshar walked the desert and entered the city. Always pushing the weak to be strong and the strong to be stronger still. Always speaking of free will, the sin of the soul and offering a gift of a favour to those that wished to take it. Speaking of the origins of things Link to that post

A primal to most, at least in the manner of his existence before you but something far more than such a simple concept. Could he even predate the allgans? Probably. Though if you were to ask him he would laugh and tell you that time is meaningless and in truth does not exist. So this is getting way long and I'm gonna cut it off. Feel free to send me asks.
