Complaining abt Suicide Squad yet again but the fact that they have Waller exposing the alien community to space racist attacks and talking abt how she got to her position through deceit and being a terrible person and stuff is just. Ahsfiwueh JUST SAY YOU DONT KNOW WALLER.

Anyways literally the 3rd mission of the Squad ever (and the first framed as smth Waller picked and not orders from above) was the Squad discrediting and stopping a rogue vigilante who was only arresting POC and funneling white people into white supremacy groups (of which he was the most prominent member) in SUICIDE SQUAD #4. and it's explicitly framed as this mission being personal for Waller that she's hiding from the government bc its illegal like. Guys. Please why are we having her incite (space bc comics) racist attacks now

Also the whole "Amanda got her position through deceit and being a terrible person" NO. she KEPT her position through being shitty and playing complicated political games!!! She wasn't always that way like there is a difference and it is IMPORTANT ppl PLEASEEEE. In Secret Origins #14 we learn Amanda's backstory and she used to be a normal, caring person! Like even after she entered into working in government and politics she wasn't automatically morally bankrupt like please people. She was originally given control of the Squad by Reagan (*sigh* 80s comics...) to distract and get rid of her because she was so successful at pushing progressive social policy in Congress. Acting like she's this static pillar of evil is such a waste of her character and so fucking uninteresting and disrespectful to her arc it drives me MAD.

Like I am NOT saying Waller is all sunshine and rainbows, she fucking SUCKS (said w love <3) but like there's a human being there. It's a progression, she has a character arc like please, DC, please!!! They've fucked up Waller so bad and made her so opaque and uninteresting she can't even be the protagonist of her own story for fucks sake!

Like I don't know how many times I have to scream it until DC hears me or remembers but WALLER IS THE MAIN CHARACTER OF SUICIDE SQUAD. ITS HER BOOK. yet right now she's a cutout to be used as the villain wherever the writers please. Even in her book we get none of her perspective really displayed, no exploration of her thoughts with any kind of understanding of the role she traditionally has played and was made to play in the story.

One of the funniest things about hollow knight is that there’s a character named elder bug who is set up as an old man character yet confirmed to be younger than like 80% of the cast. The small baby shaped protagonist is actually older than most of the other characters, (probably) including hornet.

yes i have heard it! and here it is isolated:

it's so haunting and i can't get over...the timbre and feeling in austin's voice, the loss of this moment (also the 18ish seconds of him singing if i can dream, i cannot get through without tearing up, just like i can't hear el sing the song itself without tearing up), but also the expanse of the instrumental and choral and gospel tapestry across this film. the actual songs are so present that you almost don't notice the melodies constantly flowing beneath everything, which was intentional. it's like it's subliminal. i mentioned this in tags the other day, but baz said they approached it as an opera, where you're immersed in this sea of music and emotion and interwoven themes buoying the story, and that clicked in my brain and made me realize why that aspect strikes me the way that it does. that current and soul of music carrying us breathlessly along, like you couldn't avoid the siren song of it even if you wanted to. that's, in many ways, how music exists in the world itself for me.

Air: What’s the easiest part of writing for you?

Generally speaking, I quite enjoy dialogue and default to writing in just dialogue if I'm struggling with a scene and need to work out what the beats through it are (not so great if it's a low-dialogue moment 🤣). There's exceptions to this of course, times when the words don't come, but it's the way I find it goes for the most part.

Consider this a light teaser for my next chapter of But I Am Not Done Yet. Which has, after like a month and a half, finally been drafted. It still needs an edit pass but it is finally typed!

Meet Shiyo Ubetsu, the next Dreamer that Reala's going to interact with, reworked from an absolutely ancient (circa about 2010/2011) OC of mine. 22 years old, Japanese-American California-based rave gal, though the picrew doesn't do justice to the amount of kandi she's actually wearing. (She genuinely hangs around the rave scene to vibe to the tunes and make friends, her favorite thing to do is trade kandi. She's not a Lucid, but is still a lucid dreamer.)

I genuinely enjoy writing Reala having to deal with Visitors and have to be nice about it. Meeting a new human is not the only thing Reala has happen next chapter, but Shiyo definitely derailed my original draft to show off yet another way that humans are gonna human and include Nightmaren when they can behave and be nice :P

Been participating in my first Artfight this year! I've done a few pieces so far, almost all currently done as IC sketches and notes taken and done by my Shadowrun character Dreamer of the characters of other players on the Shadowrun server I'm part of. This is the one I am currently most proud of (And was the first one I drew, peaked early XD) a sketch of another Shadowrunner who is a cuttlefish/aquatic SURGE Changeling, who also happens to be one of Dreamer's significant others named Gilly!
