Thank god for parent volunteers in schools!

Not only did three moms help me get the library ready due to a room change, today they spent a solid 3 hours helping me decorate the library too -- with AMAZING posters hand-drawn by one of the moms:

She made the Wild Robot posters overnight because I'd mentioned to her yesterday morning that the Grade 4s read the book and are going to watch the movie as a class.

My super enthusiastic Grade 5 gasped with excitement when she saw the posters and went "Oh my god, the Wild Robooooot!!!"

Astro Boy hot take(?): I think the Now Comics series "The Original Astro Boy" was actually pretty dang good. I like how much it kept to the themes of the series and didn't shy away from darker stuff... even if it did have a talking dog in it for some reason

“🐘🤖The Robot”

🇵🇷Me: It was a real treat for “Astro Bot” fans, but also throwback for all of things PlayStation throughout history. So its no wonder why it would be on the list for my elephant character’s pleasure. Even Bubba Bubbaphant find it exciting after seeing him in his elephant robot costume. You could say he’d invented it; hints by his CN character’s cosplay, but guess it gotten him way too excited a bit. 😅

Description:

In October 1973, as the Vietnam War waned and Watergate filled headlines, two friends in Pascagoula, Mississippi – Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker – had an encounter that would shake them for life and baffle the world. While fishing after work, they claimed to be abducted by strange beings from a hovering craft, describing elephant-skinned entities with claw-like hands who examined them aboard the vessel. Though skeptics dismissed it as a hoax or hallucination, the Pascagoula Abduction remains one of the most compelling and hotly debated UFO cases. In this first installment of our two-part series, we delve into the initial reports, physical evidence, and lasting impact of the incident, joined by returning guest Philip Mantle – UFO researcher, a close friend of Calvin Parker, and co-writer of the Amazon Prime docuseries Pascagoula ’73 –who calls it the best-documented case of its kind.
