The vampire always surprised him with the longing and heat. A vixen woman who always seemed to have one diabolical plan or another. Track record wasn’t very well kept. Oh- her and Klaus were both caring but animalistic people. The original had never been a prop, but he couldn’t deny love. Feeling was the most human thing. Mikealson’s had done their fair share of atrocities. Never again would he do it unless absolutely necessary. Spies always brought him back word of Katherine. Her obsession with the Salvatores after all these years was infuriating. He didn’t see their worth for her. Even their care that she existed. Mabye the brunette was a rash choice, but she never failed to make him crack stoicism. To feel fangs dig into teeth in a want to share blood. It was odd to want to keep Pierce away for safety as well as hold her close. The mind on that woman reveled even his brother. But he would keep business that way. So I'm not 100% sure what you meant for this... the fic I have going, or Vixen & the Fox universe, or just a one shot, so I decided on just a one shot and I hope you enjoy! =)

Hayley Marshall was about two steps from Jackson when she bolted, she would never be able to say why she bolted, but everything in her rebelled at the wedding, not even the sight of their families was enough to have her staying. She had turned and ran as fast as she in her wedding dress, skirts in hand, and veil attached, she flew through the cathedral doors like a princess on a mission to escape, and it was the fastest she had ever run. She kept running too, she didn’t slow, not even when she got a taxi and booked it for JFK, and from there, bought a one way ticket to anywhere else.

She ended up sitting next to a stranger in the airport who merely raised a brow at her wedding dress attire, held in her arms from what she taken off to get through TSA. She was a sight; she knew that, and she was seriously contemplating buying one of those tourist trap shirts, unbreathable, uncomfortable leggings and slippers and stuffing this wedding gown into a trash can.

The stranger beside her was looking her over, a dubious expression obvious on his face as they looked at one another.

“What?” she finally asked as she combed her fingers through her hair.

“Nothing,” he shrugged.

“Bullshit,” she muttered as her head fell back. “You’re judging me.”

“I have no reason to.”

“I ran away from my wedding, two steps from the altar, I’m sure there’s a term for that.”

“I believe it would be OMG,” he quipped, she snorted and bit her lip as she tried to keep from laughing. She looked at him, and he had a sly smile on his lips then.

“OMG is a good one,” she mused.

“If it’s any consellation I’m on my way home after proving my girlfriend was cheating on me, with her sister’s boyfriend, I had planned to propose,” he informed her.

“Women suck,” she offered lamely and he laughed. It warmed her heart to hear him laugh.

“They can,” he mused.

“I’ll be right back, I need to stuff this dress in a trash can or something,” she muttered.

“Will you not need help getting out of it?” then he looked mortified at what he had just said.

“Most men offer to buy me dinner before taking off my clothes,” she teased.

“That was not what I meant!” he strangled out. “I’ve had two sisters, and they explained those dresses are notoriously difficult to get in and out of!”

“Shit, they are,” she muttered.

“I have a counter proposal, I will help you undo the dress, then provide a shirt which you can use as cover,” he said evenly. “You appear taller than my ex, but her leggings should work until you get to New Orleans.”

“So I’m going to New Orleans, and thanks,” she smiled tightly. It didn’t take them long before he pulled out clothes, he didn’t offer his ex’s shirt, instead he gave her one of his, and he helped her undo all the buttons and hooks. Once those were done, he handed her leggings and she ran into the women’s bathroom. Changing was easy and once that was done she went through her dress pockets; again happy she’d put her ID and debit card in there, and her phone. There were a hundred missed calls from Jackson and his family, but she turned off her phone as she walked out to the terminal again.

The man was waiting for her, he held out a hoodie for her, and she was grateful.

“Thank you,” she sighed.

“Of course, it is reassuring to know I can still be the knight in shining armor,” he mused. “I’m Elijah, Elijah Mikaelson.”

“Hayley Marshall,” she replied.

“So Hayley, what compels a girl to run on the happiest day of her life.”

“Well… we’d been having issues before, planning the wedding, and I just… I don’t know, we weren’t… in love? We’ve been together since we were children, high school sweethearts, college, careers; and our families more or less arranged it and I know he’s in love with someone else, but he wouldn’t cheat on me, but we aren’t happy. We were togetherfor our families, and it just… it really hit me how unfair it is to him and no matter what we do, I was never going to love him, and this was my last chance to get him to see that, so…”

“You ran,” he deduced.

“Yup, not as rough as your story but still, not a good move for women anywhere,” she groused as she rubbed the bridge of her nose and stared at the airport. “I bought a ticket to anywhere, and apparently thatll be New Orleans.”

“It isn’t that bad,” he promised.

“Well, gotta start over again,” she muttered. “But I think he’ll see we dodged a big bullet. Neither of us would’ve been happy in the long run, and he’s loyal enough to try to make it work until he resents me, so… I think I did the right thing.”

“You’ll find love one day,” Elijah promised softly.

She walked down the aisle to the man of her dreams, and she smiled. Wearing a dress she actually wanted to wear, walking to a man she actually wanted. As she neared the altar she knew he was a little worried, but she took his hand.

“Glad you could make it,” Elijah said softly.

“Happy to be here,” she smiled as she handed her bouquet to her new friends and felt her heart fluttering about in her chest. Today was perfect. And she was excited for this next part. He smiled, rather shy, and uncertain, and it was still refreshing, and endearing, and she wanted to kiss him now just to reassure him he was here, and so was she, and they were doing this despite how they started.

“You’re not supposed to kiss until the priest finishes blessing the vows!” Kol unhelpfully quipped.

“Shut up Kol!” Klaus ordered.

Elijah laughed, and she snickered as she looked at the priest.

“  if  we  are  being  honest  ...  then  i  confess  that  i  have  been  waiting  for  this  as  well  .  ”  almost  whispers  as  crimson  tint  becomes  apparent  on  cheeks  ,  a  shy  smile  spreading  across  features  .  it  was  not  often  that  serena  presented  this  flustered  demeanour  ,  often  hiding  behind  facade  of  vixen  with  tricks  up  their  sleeve  -  truth  was  ,  that  was  not  all  that  made  serena  the  person  they  were  .  letting  their  walls  down  and  showing  elijah  this  part  of  them  meant  they  trusted  him  more  than  they  would’ve  liked  ,  but  there  was  no  backing  out  now  .  slowly  ,  their  fingers  reach  for  the  taller’s  hands  ,  placing  them  on  each  side  of  their  hips  before  their  own  begin  to  roam  his  clothed  chest  ,  then  ,    semblance  starts  to  inch  closer  in  that  same  slow  pace  ,  stopping  once  tip  of  nose  was  brushing  against  his  ,  and  they  lock  their  gaze  with  his  ,  not  afraid  to  let  him  see  the  desire  that  was  emanating  from  them  .  “  will  you  show  me  how  good  you  can  be  ?  ”  sultry  tone  laced  voice  ,  grasping  his  chin  with  dainty  ,  manicured  fingers  to  guide  him  into  a  kiss  ,  eyes  shutting  down  once  lips  meet  .  it’s  slow  yet  passionate  ,  putting  every  ounce  of  emotions  they’ve  harvested  for  him  ever  since  their  first  encounter  into  it  .  to  think  they’d  become  this  weak  for  him  ,  unable  to  neglect  any  wish  he’d  make  ,  willing  to  satisfy  him  to  no  end  ,  hopefully  he’d  be  able  to  feel  so  through  this  kiss  .

The Vampire Diaries : 10 Guest Actors Who Became Hollywood Stars

Current stars of NBC, Netflix, and even Showtime shows all have spent some time in Mystic Falls-- including Lauren Cohan, who can be found starring in the Chicago franchise. Guest stars are a very important part of any television show, and The Vampire Diaries included many actors whose careers continued to rise after their time on this vampiric classic.

10. Erik Stocklin (Stevie) 

Stevie was a werewolf who helped capture and torture Damon Salvatore in order to find a mystical object called the moonstone. He also manages to kill Alaric, before ultimately being killed himself by Elijah. 

Erik Stocklin went on to have large reoccurring roles in shows such as: Mistresses, Stalker, and Good Trouble. He also had a leading role in Haters Back Off! where he met his wife, on scree love interest Colleen Ballinger/Miranda Sings. Stevie was Stocklin’s first television role, and it showed that even right from the start, he could perform at a highly professional level. 

9. Stephen Amell (Brady)

Brady was out for blood (literally). He sought revenge against the Salvatore brothers and ended up using Elena to attempt to break a werewolf curse. He fought, tortured, and plotted, but ended up dead at Stefan's hand. 

While Brady was not Amell’s first role, it was his first on the CW-- where he then went on to became known to the world as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, a very popular character in the CW’s ArrowVerse. Stephen Amell can be seen starring in everything from Vixen, to Supergirl, Batwoman, The Flash, DC's Legend's of Tomorrow, and Arrow.

8. Taylor Kinney (Mason Lockwood)

Mason Lockwood was Tyler Lockwood's uncle. He worked to find the moonstone and was the one to explain to Tyler how the werewolf transformation process works. Though, due to the choices he made, he ended up with his heart torn out. 

After TVD, Kinney appeared in films such as Zero Dark Thirty, Rock the Kasbah, and The Other Woman. Though Taylor Kinney is most notable for his role in the Chicago episodics: Justice, Med, P.D., and Fire. Kinney can be seen as Kelly Severide in over 230 episodes within the franchise. Lockwood was far from Kinney’s first role, but it highlighted Kinney’s ability to portray a confident and intelligent “ladies man” type of character-- much like Severide.  

7. Torrey DeVitto (Dr. Meredith Fell)

Dr. Meredith Fell was the originally the most trusted doctor in Mystic Falls. Fell is known for her less than ethical medical techniques involving vampire blood. After being attacked by The Darkness, she ends up leaving Mystic Falls. 

After The Vampire Diaries, DeVitto reoccured in Army Wives and Pretty Little Liars. DeVitto is most known for her work as Dr. Natalie Manning in over 130 episodes of Chicago P.D., Fire, and Med. Guess those Mystic Falls doctoring skills came in handy.

6. Lauren Cohan (Rose)

Rose was a vampire who was tricked into turning Katherine Pierce into a vampire. She was hunted for centuries and ended up kidnapping Elena in order to barter for freedom. Though when it came down to it, Rose teamed up with the Salvatores to take on the Originals. 

Lauren Cohan went from running from vampires to slaying zombies as Maggie, a leading role, in The Walking Dead. It takes a spectacular amount of talent to be able to jump into a universe full of mythic creatures and Cohan does so with incredible skill. She can also be seen reoccuring in Supernatural and starring in Whiskey Cavalier. Cohan's career is truly “supernatural.” 

5. Hayley Kiyoko (Megan King)

Megan King was Elena and Caroline's roommate at Whitmore. Megan enrolled at the school due to her curiosity regarding her past, but was killed during a party. Though she wasn't physically around for long, Megan served a very important purpose to the central arc of season five.

Kiyoko herself then went on to become a reoccurring character in The Fosters and a series regular in both CSI: Cyber and Five Points. These characters, much like Megan, also have challenging pasts and strong wills. Hayley Kiyoko is also known for being a world famous singer-songwriter.

4. Gracie Gillam (April Young)

April Young was the daughter of a Mystic Falls pastor. After her father's death, she returned to town and began to grow suspicious. After nearly being killed, she was saved and never seen again. April is a prime example that an unlikely friendship in Mystic Falls might just pay off. 

April was Gracie Gillam’s second ever television role. This set a tone for Gillam’s career, as her portrayal of April Young shows that Gilliam is able to undertake a wide range of roles-- from naive and giggly to confident and combative. Within a year of being on TVD, Gilliam was starring in the Disney Channel Original Movie: Teen Beach Movie 1 as Lela. Gracie Gillam can also be seen reoccurring in Z Nation and most recently she starred in the horror movie Superhost. 

3. McKenna Grace (Young Caroline)

Caroline Forbes (Candice King), is a major part of The Vampire Diaries franchise, so it's expected that her character would need to be seen in the past as a child. McKenna Grace portrayed young Caroline in a memorable flashback scene of Caroline with her mother, as the town of Mystic Falls was saying goodbye to their beloved Sherif. Even though Young Caroline was only seen in two episodes, they both tugged at heartstrings. 

Grace is one of the biggest young actresses in Hollywood today. She can be seen in everything from The Young and the Restless, to multiple Disney Channel shows, Fuller House, The Angry Birds Movie, Independence Day, The Haunting of Hill House, Designated Survivor, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and so much more. McKenna Grace is famed throughout Hollywood for her ability to play younger versions of characters with total perfection, while also being able to handle very dramatic and heavy material. Her role in TVD demonstrates both of these very well.

2. Jaz Sinclair (Beatrice Bennett)

Beatrice Bennett was a historic member of the Bennett coven and saved Mystic Falls from hellfire along with sealing the sirens inside the Armory. In Bonnie's time of need, she joined her magic together with all the Bennett witches from the past in order to once again save Mystic Falls.

Sinclair went from being a Bennett witch to a Walker witch, when she starred as Rosalind (Roz) Walker on Netflix's original series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Roz and her friends saved their town from evil countless times as well. Sinclair may have found her niche in portraying strong, magical, powerful characters, as she will soon be seen in a spinoff of Amazon's The Boys as Marie, a young superhero ("supe").

Violet Fell was an innocent soul turned corrupt. At first, Violet was simply a Mystic Falls high school student, before being sirened, compelled, and transformed into a vampire.

Samantha Hanratty already had an extensive acting career, stemming all the way from childhood, before her time on TVD. Though, Violet Fell was Hanratty’s bridge into more “edgy” character types, much like the roles she played following The Vampire Diaries and presently. Hanratty is currently most known for her role as Teen Misty, an equipment manager for a soccer team stranded in the Canadian wilderness, on the very popular Showtime series Yellowjackets.

A pair of soft hands covers your eyes, blocking the scene from It’s a Wonderful Life. You drop the remote, the soft thud echoed by soft giggles. You smile, letting her vanilla body butter swarm your senses. What on earth could she possibly be up to now?

“Bekah,” you muse, smiling at her antics, “what’s going on?”

She giggles again and you can’t help but join her, the sound positively infectious, “they have a surprise for you, darling?

Your heart skips a beat. A surprise?

“They? What do you mean Beks.” 

She tsks, slipping a blindfold over your eyes quickly, “don’t play coy, you vixen. You know very well who!”

You smile; she’s right. You smooth the fabric against your cheeks, feeling restless as you wait for whatever it is your boys have planned for you. A tiny bit of light seeps through the thin material but not nearly enough to decipher the activity around you. You see movement, and hear the soft sounds of bodies rustling around the room, but none of it makes much sense. You just want to see what all the fuss is about already.

“Alright, darling,” Kol’s voice flits to your ears and you can picture the smirk on his face without having to see it, “you can take it off.”

You follow his instructions, pulling at the silk behind your head and letting the blindfold fall. It takes a moment for your eyes to adjust to the light but when you do you're torn between breaking out in laughter again and bursting out in tears. You bring your hand to your mouth, teetering dangerously on the edge of doing both. 

In front of you stands the three Mikaelson brothers, each in the same hideous Christmas sweater. They’re a garish red colour with what appears to be hand sewn, felt mistletoes. The words Mikaelson Family Christmas are embroidered in yellow. You decide, for now, to giggle, throwing your head back and letting them flow freely from your chest. They look ridiculous! This is very much not their usual attire. You have to admit though, they wear them like well tailored suits.

“Well, love?” Klaus beams at you, his cheeks tinged pink, “how do we look?”

Elijah catches your eye, stepping forward with his arms spread, “please, don’t hold back baby. Lay it on us.”

You stand, lightheaded and giddy from laughing so much, “well if you insist.” You dramatically look the boys over, taking your time and tapping a finger to your chin, “all I can say is that mistletoe was not hung with care.”

“Wow,” Kol steps towards you, his mouth falling open in feigned shock. “Darling, I tried!”

He slips his arms around your waist, pulling you against him and leaning his head close to yours. You wrap your arms around his neck, rubbing your nose against his and pressing your lips against his lightly. He tastes like peppermint and berries, a combination that sounds altogether unholy but is undeniably delicious. 

“I appreciate your effort,” you giggle against his mouth, pausing to kiss him again, “but perhaps your talents lay outside of fashion design.”

He laughs, muttering something under his breath that you can’t quite catch. You turn to the other two men, stepping towards them gleefully. Elijah grabs your hand, twirling you around before pulling you to his chest. Your fingers slide over his chest, reveling in the warmth he exudes. He looks so out of his element in his sweater and it makes you beyond happy. He needs to loosen up.

Klaus’ hands land on your back, his head resting on your shoulder, “I’m glad you like them, love.”

Elijah and Klaus’ scents meld around you, merging evergreen and gingerbread in the most tantalizing way. They smell like Christmas and cookies and just goodness. It’s perfect. They’re all perfect.

You tilt your head back on his shoulder, closing your eyes for a moment, “I guess you could say that.”

A hand wraps around your arm, tugging you away from the two men. Bekah giggles again, standing in front of you and doing a little twirl. She, too, now wears one of the hideous sweaters, although it doesn’t look nearly as odd on her for some reason. It suits her, but so does everything.

“Bekah, not you too!” You tug lightly on her sweater, the wool scratchy under your fingers, “they dragged you into this as well?”

She nods, her eyes bright and mischievous. They peer over your shoulder for a moment before landing back on you, even more excited than a mere moment ago. She pulls her lip between her teeth, her head tilting slightly. You scrunch your eyebrows at her, a flood of questions bubbling in your throat. What is happening?

“Does that mean,” Elijah’s smooth voice carries over to you, low and serious all of a sudden, “that you don’t want one, baby?”

Wait, what? You spin so quickly that you almost fall over, your only solace being Bekah’s hand which is still latched on your arm. This time there are no mixed reactions; what you see brings tears rushing to your eyes. There, in Elijah’s hand, is one more sweater, one made just for you. 

Your words are muffled by your hand but it does nothing to mar the surprise in them, your throat stinging slightly from the emotion, “is that for me?” 

All three of them nod at you, Kol grabbing the article of clothing from his brother and stepping closer to you. He flips it around, showing you the tag stitched into the back. Your heart skips a beat, rendering you breathless. There, embroidered in the same yellow thread, is your name. You take a sharp breath, the first tear rolling down your cheek. It’s the ugliest thing that you’ve ever seen but for how you feel right now it could very well be made of gold.

You force your eyes away from the sweater, a feat much harder than it sounds, “but I’m not a Mikaelson.”

Klaus steps next to his brother, his fingers curling around your hips and pulling you into his arms, “that’s an easy fix, love.”

Your heart stops. Your eyes snap to his, your mouth falling open for what feels like the thousandth time today. The sweater slips from your fingers, pooling on the ground with a soft thud. Everything around you freezes, the world outside this room going still. For real, what is happening? 

“Excuse me?” is all you can think to say.

Elijah’s fingers wrap around your jaw, pulling your shocked face to meet his, “you’re a Mikaelson. You’re our Mikaelson. It’s high time everyone else knew.”

Your breath is shallow, your blood pumping in your ears. Is this really happening? Your eyes fly rapidly between the three of them, your head fuzzy from all of their stares. 

“So what do you say,” Kol kneels in front of you and you finally see the diamond ring in his hand, glittering in the glow of the Christmas tree behind him, “will you join our family? I know we’re a lot to handle,” his voice chokes up slightly and your tears kick into high gear, blurring your vision, “and I know that forever with us is a long time,” you swallow a tiny sob, covering it with a euphoric giggle, “but with you I also know it won’t be nearly long enough.”

Your heart restarts almost too quickly. You don’t have to even think about your answer, the word falling from your mouth before you can even process it, “yes, oh my yes!”

They cheer, at least you think they do, but all you can hear is your heart slamming in your chest as Kol slips the ring on your finger. It’s cold and foreign but oh so perfect. Your cheeks are wet, and your laughter is clouded with the occasional sob, but your blood feels electric, like you were only running on half power before this moment. You feel alive; for the first time you know what it feels like to be truly and fully alive.

You turn back to Bekah, ready to scream and jump with your best friend, when your eyes widen even more, “oh my god, it lights up too!”
