There Had Been Rumors All Day About Elvis... By Jerry Kenion Greensboro Daily News March 14, 1974

Then the sleek white plane touched down and taxied toward the front of Atlantic Aero. There was a rush for the doors as two dozen women braved the jet blast to move a bit closer to the plane. The black limousine was parked just steps from where the singing star would hit the bottom step of the plane's stairs. Several people left the plane and climbed into the limousine. Then, there he was. The King. He walked slowly down the stairs, the wind blowing his black caped coat, and flared black trousers. Elvis paused to greet someone in his exclusive circle, glanced up through tinted sunglasses at the few fans waving and taking pictures, and disappeared into the limousine.

“Darlin” Elvis called from the living room while you where making dinner in the kitchen. “Yes baby?” You answered raising your voice so he could hear you. “Could you c’mere for a Minuit I need to tell ya somethin’” “yeah sure just let me finish putting the food in the oven” you finished up putting the food in the oven and went to the living room and sat down my Elvis. “What is it Elvis?” You asked snuggling into him. It was your favorite thing, cuddling with him. He was so warm and cuddly, kind of like a teddy bear. “I have a surprise for ya birthday” you sat up a little. “Oh Elvis, you already got me so much” he looked at you with a soft smile. “Oh, darlin’ it’s fine, just let me treat my princess” he said before kissing you’re jawbone lightly. He knew that’s what made you flustered. You started blushing everywhere. “Awh fine” you gave a small sigh. He had already done so much for you’re birthday. He had bought you jewelry, dresses, and so much more. “What’s the surprise?” You asked. “We’re goin’ to Hawaii in our plane” he said sort of flirtatiously. “Oh that sounds like great fun!” You said excitedly, but inside you where quite nervous. You had always had a fear of going on planes, ever since you where a little kid. You thought about it all while you where eating dinner and part of the next day. You packed and it was time to get on the dreaded plane. “C’mon darlin” he said giving you his hand as he helped y out into the private plane. “This is fine” you thought to yourself before the plane took off, when it did you where gripping your seat on the couch tightly. Elvis noticed and came over, rubbing your shoulders while you spoke. “Are you okay honey?” “Y-yeah” you said nervously, your voice shaking. “well now I can’t believe that, with that shaky voice of yours” “I well, I uh- didn’t tell you b-but I’m kinda a-scared of p-planes” you said looking down nervously. He lifted your chin to look at him. “Kinda? Well I know somethin’ that’ll getcha feelin’ safer” he said before leading you to the bed at the very back of the plane. “Here” he said In a calming tone before getting in the bed and reaching out his arms. You gladly took the offer and jumped into his arms, still shaking s little out of fear. “It’s all gonna be alright darlin’ he said, and you cuddled him before falling asleep.

Elvis Presley’s 1962 Lockheed 1329 JetStar,

For decades, Lockheed’s JetStar was the executive jet of choice for countless A-listers, recognized dignitaries and star-studded celebrities, and this 1962 Lockheed 1329 JetStar is no exception, as it was once owned by the king of rock ‘n’ roll: Elvis Presley. Presley acquired it from OMNI Aircraft Sales Inc. on December 22, 1976 for the princely sum of $840,000.

When Elvis took ownership of this particular JetStar, registered with the FAA as N-20TF, the entertainer was no stranger to luxurious aviation acquisition. He had already amassed a modest fleet, which included a custom Convair 880 named the “Lisa Marie” that went by the call sign of Hound Dog 1, along with a second JetStar identified by its call sign of Hound Dog 2.

With a busy touring schedule, these crafts were needed to transport the singer, his TCB band, backup groups, Col. Tom Parker and the ever-present Memphis Mafia to venues, concerts and appearances all around the country. Elvis kept several pilots on retainer that were ready to fly him to adoring fans at a moment’s notice.

This JetStar is one of several private jets owned by Elvis Presley, with two currently on display at Graceland. Inside, the cabin features wood paneling and red velvet upholstery with gold-finish hardware. There’s seating for nine by way of six plush chairs that swivel and recline, along with a couch. An onboard entertainment system is tucked away in a media cabinet, featuring a television, RCA VCR player and audio cassette player, and headphone ports with audio controls are located at every seat. A galley contains storage and a meal-prep area complete with a Kenmore microwave and beverage dispenser. At the rear is a lavatory along with additional storage and cubby areas.

In the spring of 1977, the jet was sold, later ending up with a Saudi Arabian company. The JetStar was then moved to Roswell International Air Center (ROW) in Roswell, New Mexico, where it’s been stored for decades and resides to this day. The aircraft will require disassembly to be shipped, and coordinating assistance is available. Documentation joining the jet includes a copy of the Aircraft Security Agreement document signed by Elvis Presley, a copy of the Aircraft Bill of Sale and Official FAA Blue Ribbon documents. While the P&W engines and many cockpit components have been removed and no engines or replacement parts will be included with the sale of Elvis’ jet, it serves as an incredible restoration opportunity and a chance to create a unique Elvis exhibit for all the world to enjoy.

This JetStar is a truly rare bird with immense appeal and one that will do nothing but shake up the crowds at Mecum’s 2023 Kissimmee auction. Elvis and his effect on the music industry are known the world-over, and this opportunity for a new owner to acquire an extravagant piece of his aviation past is a momentous occasion with untold room for flights of rock ‘n’ roll fancy.

This is Le'thuil, a character from The Three Planes. A cethelan of clan Le, Thuil is a member of the Committee (an elite group of mercenaries within the wider Agency) and out of its 4 members is the thief or other sneak for hire.

Granted, this was not always the case. Thuil was and still is a gentleskleph thief. Cultured and born to an affluent (natively) R'ylehian clan, pe didn't have a reason to steal. But pe still did, for shits giggles and fun.

In fact, that's how pe got hired - pe broke into Windward's own tower-mansion. And, instead of immediately killing per, he offered per a job. Pe accepted, because it's something to do outside of going to theatres and eating expensive foods.

Some factoids:

The small doohickeys on per "elbows" are field generator augs. Hooked up to per nervous system, they detect chromatophore activity and automagically cast invisibility spells across clothing. Great for sneaking around.

Thuil is atheist, which is a rarity in R'yleh since it's a holy city of multiple religions. It's not exactly a humongous social hindrance or anything, but due to quirks of social convention it often puts folks off. (In obvious absence of a gender system, many cethelan societies place great importance on the many axes of social standing, religious being one of them. Thuil has the convenience of belonging to a notorious and rich clan, and also at least allegedly being employed in the Tri-City's foremost private contractor, so sklephit are willing to look past per godlessness. Usually.)

Pe is bisexual, with a preference for human and serthan women. If you asked per why, pe'd probably say they're more "dignified". But really, pe just finds high fashion and make-up hot (which has a somewhat different context here since there isn't a patriarchy. In Athame specifically, women were considered to be more fit for official/administrative and representative roles, and an official must look good, no?). Pe's so bird of paradise coded.
