The first and last times we see Ol’ Cobb. 200 years apart.

(Aka I got an idea about first scene vs last scene and that very common gif set and did it to the best of my ability with an audio-only medium).

Murph: This guy is an old, kind of grizzled, Crick hunter, and it’s not that he’s not hospitable, it’s just that he’s a little bit more serious. So, you go to do the handshake, and he’s kinda just a couple steps behind you, like moving real slow.

Cobb (Murph): Uh, hi, how you doin’ Moonshine? It’s been a while since -

Caldwell, overlapping: Oh, dang.

Cobb, continuing: - I’ve seen you.

Moonshine (Emily): Yeah, what’s your name? It escapes me right now. I saw your face, though, that didn’t escape me.

Caldwell chuckles over the words.

Cobb: You know me, I’m Ol’ Cobb.

Caldwell laughs again.

Moonshine: Ol’ Cobb! Well get the heck out! What sort of croc you catch to get here?

Caldwell laughs again.

Cobb: You know, somethin’ ain’t right at the Crick.

Moonshine: Yeah.

Cobb: So I came here to make things right.

Moonshine: What you hunt - Who’s tastin’ the - Who’s tasting the fruits of that blunderbus?

Murph: He pulls out a wanted poster of The Widow, and he says

Cobb: I tracked The Widow to Galaderon. If I find her, that’s 10,000 gold pieces for Ol’ Cobb.

There is a break in the audio for a beat. When the next clip begins, the song “The Kingshammer” is playing under the words.

Cobb: Gruumsh’s guys saw me run up here. I’m gonna take ‘em as far as my old legs can run. But you - you’ve gotta stay here, alright.

Hardwon (Jake), attempting to interrupt: Cobb! Cobb, come on! No!

Murph: Uh, he keeps talking through you.

Cobb: Now, don’t go blamin’ yourself. I know you’re gonna blame yourself. But -

Hardwon, quietly to himself: Oh, fuck.

Cobb: I ain’t doin’ you a favor, alright?

Hardwon, still trying to interrupt: Uh, Cobb.

Cobb: You’re doin’ me one.

Hardwon: Let me die, Cobb.

Cobb: Let this old man leave the world knowin’ that the kids are gonna be alright.

Hardwon, louder: No! The world’s better with you in it than me, Cobb! What’re you doin’?

Cobb: Look after Moonshine and Bev for me, yeah?

Murph: You see he begins to walk, ahead of the other spirits, and turns back.

Cobb: Or, better yet, you tell Moonshine and Bev to look after you, dumbass. [Murph laughs loudly, in character as Cobb].

Jake: Hardwon laughs and sobs.

Cobb: Keep it light.

Murph: You see Cobb charges into battle, a ghostly reflection of his last stand.

I'm doing my homework again. i noticed that Bev crush in Erlin wasn't really there at first (as in, Caldwell didn't planned, his jokes and descriptions doesn't really point atit) vur instead Jake and Emily had fun and run with a joke, that then Caldwell catched em in it and slam dunk with it. Probably decided to pivot when he went the I lied erlin was in my wet dream.

Then regret it a bit when they actually meet Erlin Cran and Derlin. But come back later in his reintroduction.

Anyway I like to think in my head canon Bev didn't knew he had a crush on Erlin but he sure had so talk a lot about him, then Moonshine and Hardwon teased him about it so much that he actually noticed and went cookoo.

Hardwon and Moonshine

okay to preface this one i don't think hardwon and moonshine ever have like. a traditional romantic relationship. i think they've got something different going on and it's something that is uniquely theirs. however. i am insane about their dynamic so

What made you ship it? the short rests around the end of c1, but like, after my second time through the campaign, not the first. em and jake talking about moonshine and hardwon's feelings, and also emily saying she was sad that she didn't make it clearer that moonshine wanted hardwon at the crick and everyone saying it came across. how much hardwon clearly loves moonshine (and also the crick) and how much moonshine clearly loves hardwon. also: the whole timeless body conversation and "i didn't know where i fit in, and then i met you, and you didn't just let me in. you brought me in, and you thought i was good. and i want to keep living in that world."

What are your favorite things about this ship? i made a joke post at one point that was like "few things in this world are as queer as whatever the fuck moonshine and hardwon have going on" and i feel like that's part of it. they're so each other's people and homes and just... both of them were searching for something at the start of their journeys and they clearly found a huge part of that in each other. it's so good.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Does the 'them never having a traditional romantic relationship' stuff count? I feel like romance is actually the least interesting part of their dynamic to me.
