honestly in 7x24 I’m just begging for someone to write the definitely missing scene of JJ being half-grateful half-super-fucking-pissed at Emily for saving Will.

On one hand, she saved Will and put her own life at risk to do so. On the other, what was she thinking? does she know how stupid she is? the one thing JJ couldn’t stand other than losing Will is losing Emily too.

historically jordancon has been a venue for casting announcements - we got aviendha in 2022 and several s2 secondary characters in 2023. do you think we'll get any s3 casting announcements this year (april)? if so, who? my money is on faile, galad*, and GAWYN PLEASE GOD TELL ME WHO'S PLAYING HIM IN APRIL I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE

ahem anyway. my reasoning is that those 3 are in the same bucket as aviendha was in 2022. it's too far away from the new season's release to discuss anything substantial about the season's content or to formally announce the casting of older/better-known actors whose announcements could be saved to help marketing closer to the season's release (i'd put elaida & morgase in this bucket for s3, with the equivalent being verin for s2; and then forsaken castings i'd bet they want to keep secret as long as they can), but the castings of younger/lesser-known actors as major book characters would be a great New Season Treat to drop this early and in this book-fan venue. general audiences wouldn't care much about a few 27-year-old actors they've never heard of being cast as characters whose names don't yet mean anything to them, but book fans would be very excited about it! and that is why i'm putting on my clown shoes and hoping for gawyn casting news in april (or sooner if the leakers take pity on me).

*we do already know faile & galad casting from leaks, but i'm talking official announcements here!

You know what they've been on my brain especially after the writing piece that also has not left my head so I'm sharing my Willry dynamic/thoughts for fun since I don't think I've shared these ones specifically

So Henry absolutely has feelings for William, but between his partner leaving him (don't know if I want him to have a wife or what), and Charlie's disappearance tearing him into pieces, he's not completely ready to confront those feelings or jump into a whole other relationship, he still thinks he needs some breathing room

And of course because of society, he doesn't even know if he should after he's out of his grieving stage, yet kind of wishes William would pick up on it

Meanwhile, William hasn't really recognized that he feels just a little bit of the same way (because he also will not face them for a whole lot of reasons), and also is somewhat clueless that Henry likes him as more than a friend

The feelings he has don't appear to be anything different to him, and he doesn't exactly realize they are or that Henry has them too, until he... kills him and has to bring him back and when fixing up the wounds he made it kind of hits him in that moment

Especially because despite Henry having his own questionable morals, William believes him to be much better than himself, and he did not really want to have to get rid of him because he's not deserving of it

So like I've said before he tests out if that's what the feelings are and even though he's fully aware that he does have some kind of attraction to Henry, Henry will eventually remember what he did, (that he of course lies about twice) so he tries to shove it back down as best as he can since nothing will come of it

And of course trying to suppress it only makes it torment him worse, especially because Henry does remember everything so it leaves Henry mortified and William conflicted but also aware that he shouldn't have to worry about his secrets getting out for the time

i’ve listened to unsaid emily millions of times and never realized luke said “all of the lines rehearsed disappeared from my mind” and like that just makes me so much more sad abt the song because he rehearsed what he was going to say to his mom because he wanted what he was going to say to be perfect so his mom understood him but he never got to say what he wanted to say and now he can never say it and omg im emotional

can you talk about the way scully says « he’s not my husband » in a defensive tone in iwtb when father pedophile calls mulder her husband bc that always kind of annoyed me but I don’t rlly know why

my thought is like…on a larger scale, there’s so much that we don’t know about them and their lives in those 6 years between iwtb and the original series, and theres so much that they can’t have and can’t do. i’ve said before that i don’t think msr would ever really want to have a wedding or care about being married, but at this point, they can’t. they can’t work together or go out together or see their family together. (they can’t raise their child together).

on a smaller scale, she’s pissed off lmao. at both of them. at the situation. scully’s a very private person and very protective of her relationship to mulder, regardless of the status of that relationship, she definitely doesn’t want father joe to know anything about them. she has that kind of bite of, you don’t know me. you don’t know my life.

and there’s also probably a bit of petulance of like, well, he’s not my husband!! he can’t be my husband!! both because of the circumstances and because of who he is. it’s like later when they argue and mulder’s like…you can’t ask me to stop, this is who i’ve always been. and she’s just like yep i know. (“that’s what scares me.”)

that’s so much of the conflict in iwtb, it’s so much of their core character traits reaching their lowest and most unhealthy expressions. it’s very much an ahab and starbuck storyline, but at the most manic and grating. scully lives in a haunted house with a haunted man without her baby and this is what she gave up everything for, and he’s not her husband, he doesn’t even turn to look at her when she comes home from work.
