Oh my god what if they don’t kill Belos and instead they keep him imprisoned on the Iles and just have Eda and Lilith visit him every once in a while talking about how much they “LOOOOOVEEEE THEIR GREAT UNKLE PHILIP WITTEBANE!!!”
“Oh man Lilly isn’t it just so fun to visit our dear family? It’s just too bad he can’t leave this dungeon to see us live our lives and parent the clone of our great great great grandfather! Isn’t Hunter just too cute with that Willow Park?? Man she’s such a powerful witch to fall in LOVE WITH!!”
It would fucking KILL him to have to hear that — it would be worse than death!!

Darius, getting ready for an important event: Well, how do I look, Little Prince?
Baby Hunter, who is wearing a little suit that Darius made him, and who is going with Darius to the event by order of Belos: So beautiful, Darius! ... How do I look?
Darius, unable to hold back the soft smile as he carefully smooths down Hunter’s hair: Perfect.

According to the director of the Mummy movies, Rachel Weisz refused to play a woman who had a 21 year old son. Unless she actually said a different thing on the matter, that sounds a bit ageist and sexist. Maybe misogynistic too, Idk.
Doing a time jump from an 8 year old Alex to a 21 year old and Brendan Frasier wasn't aged, neither was the woman they replaces Rachel with. It was very unbelievable that they were Alex's parents, in fact they looked exactly the same age. Unless they were trying some OUAT shit, that was not going to work.
And no one else believed it so the acting was bloody awful as well. Third movie didn't need to happen.
Just gonna keep going you can skip if you want
Brendan Frasier had absolutely no chemistry with Maria Bello, really the only thing that was the same about the third compared to the first and second was Jonathon being a clumsy failure with money.
The movie made it sound like Rick and Evelyn turned into spies for England during the war? I get Rick making Evie settle down a little because she literally died for ten minutes and it crushed him not to mention Alex losing his mother. And okay the spy thing sounds a little like something Rick would like. Evie reads everything in the world and relays the information to him while he's kicking nazi ass. Evie making Rick settle down though?
Them being crazy rich because of the chihuahua size diamond in the Scorpion King's temple makes sense. Time period, costumes, cars, all that. Alex being 21 years old doesn't. The most he could be is like, 16, 17? He could escape boarding school and go on adventures digging up temples and things that were Evie's forte btw, not Rick's.
They made it sound like this was the first time they'd dealt with a mummy with super powers. What? What part of Imohtep draining a person's life force, controlling sand, making people his slaves, super strength and invincibility was powerless to you? Not to mention in the second one he suddenly got kinesis, ability to climb anything and the power to use water. The Dragon Emperor had near god-like power yeah, but Imohtep was pretty damn super powered as well.
Really they just should've made a movie about the Dragon Emperor, that bit was much more compelling.
The movie was trying way too hard to be funny and mysterious, and I wish we'd seen more of Lin, Zu Yhan and that whole triangle.

Yan!Julius Caesar Random Headcanons
❝ 📜— lady l: I love writing these random headcanons and if you guys want more historical characters feel free to send them! If you're curious about how he is yandere, I posted a general headcanon of him, which you can read by clicking here. Here are historical facts and some additional ones from my head. I hope you like it and good reading!! ❤️
❝tw: not entirely historically accurate and perhaps murder (?).
Tumblr media
Julius Caesar was born in 100 BC and became an important Roman military and political leader. His conquest of Gaul (present-day France) and his successful campaigns contributed to his rise to power.
In 44 BC, Julius Caesar was appointed dictator for life by the Roman Senate. This move sparked concern among senators, leading to a plot that resulted in his assassination on March 15, 44 BC, known as the "Ides of March". The man did not last long as a dictator.
Julius Caesar played an important role in reforming the Roman calendar. The Julian calendar, introduced in 45 BC, was an adaptation of the lunar calendar to the solar year, forming the basis of the modern Gregorian calendar. So much so that the month of July is in his honor.
Julius Caesar formed a political alliance known as the First Triumvirate with Pompey and Crassus. They shared power and influence to advance their political and personal agendas. It didn't last long because soon they started fighting each other for power. A yandere obsessed with power, I dare say.
Julius Caesar is known for writing "Commentaries on the War in Gaul", also called as Commentarii de Bello Gallico, a series of accounts of his campaigns in the region. These writings offer valuable information about military tactics and life at that time. A great military commander and also a great fanfic writer.
There are reports that say that when he was 30 years old, he passed in front of a statue of Alexander the Great and wept because he had reached the same age and had not conquered as much as the Macedonian King. An inferiority complex, I would say.
The title "Caesar" became a dynastic name used by many Roman leaders after Julius Caesar. The first Roman Emperor, Augustus, was his nephew and adopted heir, and he adopted the title "Caesar" as part of his name. A curious fact is that many Brazilians have Caesar (César in portuguese) in their name.
In addition to his military achievements, Julius Caesar had a deep taste for literature and writing. He frequently exchanged letters and discussed poetry with various intellectuals of the day. A true cultured man and a renaissance ahead of time.
The death of Julius Caesar was one of the key events that contributed to the fall of the Roman Republic and the subsequent rise of the Roman Empire. His legacy has had a lasting impact on history and politics. Our man is credited as one of the greatest military commanders of all time.
Rumor has it that Julius Caesar had a secret superstition of avoiding black cats, believing them to bring bad luck. This contrasted with his image as a fearless leader. Poor kitty, so many powerful men were afraid of cats.

The Ardennes Draft Horse or Ardennais is considered one of the oldest breeds of draft horse.
Their history reaches back to Ancient Rome. The Ardennes breed could be a direct descendant of the prehistoric Solutré horse.
It is claimed to be descended from the type of horse described by Julius Caesar in his Commentarii de Bello Gallico.
Caesar described these horses of Belgium as "rustic, hard and tireless." He recommended them for use in heavy cavalry units.
The early type was used by many later Roman emperors for military applications.
The breed's ancestors are thought to have been bred for 2,000 years on the Ardennes plains. It is one of the oldest documented European heavy draft breeds.
They weigh 700 to 1,000 kilograms (1,500 to 2,200 lbs).

The Body Swap Episode
So, Once Upon A Swap has what might be called a "reputation" amongst the fandom. When the episode came out, the reception was average, with the immediate recognition that it was a filler episode. However, as time as gone on, more and more think pieces have sprung up discussing this as "the worst episode" or "the weakest episode".
What is my opinion? Well, this isn't my favourite episode, but it isn't my least favourite either.
I am also a contrarian by nature, so I'm going to attempt to argue that this episode has strengths and try to explain what those are and the effect they have on the series as a whole. Specifically, this episode shows character flaws and strengths under pressure.
Let me explain.
SPOILERS AHEAD
Tumblr media
First up, art is subjective, there is no such thing as a "bad piece of television". Yes, expertise of craft is a thing, but that isn't synonymous with the creation itself being "good", because again, art is subjective. The best series or episode is the series or episode that you, personally, liked the most.
Anyway...
Tumblr media
This episode is centred around the gimmick of the body swap. TV Tropes calls this a "Freaky Friday Flip", and it is a fairly stock episode of a series. Certain series take it further (There's a character in One Piece for whom this is almost their entire shtick), but that isn't the point. The point is that this is an episode used to highlight character.
As in, this is giving at least one character an insight into the life of another, and showing that insight to the audience as they follow along. It also shows the character who's mind we are following as they react to unusual situations and usually to a loss of abilities that they would usually rely on.
(Also as a note, i will be referring to the characters by their mind, not their body, if that makes sense. This episode is confusing to write about)
Tumblr media
For example, Eda's adventure shows the perils of being King, and shows how Eda responds to not being able to cast magic (I wonder if that will ever come up again). While the perils of this episode are mostly a bit shallow in my opinion, the problem solving isn't.
We see Eda's flaws, and how like King she really is. Eda has an ego just as big as her son, and despite acknowledging the obvious warning bells of her plot, she is tricked by a simple compliment. We see that, although she is unconditionally one of the series' mentour characters, she is anything but wise.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile King wears his flaws on his sleeves. You could say that Luz and Eda do too, but King does it the most obviously. He is ambitious, and, to put it bluntly, delusional. He seeks fame and adoration, so naturally he finds it in this episode, but is completely unprepared for it to go sour as being special as a teenager ain't all it's cracked up to be. However, we also see the sheer force of personality King is throwing around. Eloquence and charisma aren't the same thing. Bellos is eloquent, King is charismatic.
Case and point: Even when everything is going badly for him, King always has something to say to shrug it off and get under Bosha's skin.
Tumblr media
Finally, there is Luz, and Eda's problems. First up, this is the first of only a few times we get to see Luz cast "real magic". As in, not from a glyph. And although she isn't as proficient as Eda, most likely due to a lack of experience, she revels in the power. You could even say that she relies on it above all else. Luz is a character chasing fantasies, and this is one that has almost literally fallen from the sky in front of her.
Tumblr media
But Eda's life does have drawbacks. Eda is on the run, and we see how Luz handles that. Badly. The reason the emperor's coven is such a threat to Eda is because it's not a problem she can throw magic at until it goes away. Luz doesn't quite get that, she instead runs on TTRPG-character-after-a-power-up energy and tries to use it at every situation.
Tumblr media
But Luz isn't without her own strengths. I've said elsewhere that Luz isn't especially powerful, and I stand by that. What she has instead is a tactical mind, and that mind carries over to this situation. Here, instead of a strategising, we see that mind learn incredibly quickly. Yes, she gets lucky, but she also picks up on some things, notably a little bit of the background between Eda, Lilith, and the Emperor's Coven itself.
Tumblr media
Essentially, this comes back to what I have said in earlier posts. The Owl House uses archetypal storytelling masterfully. It shows characters as tropes first, then shows the nuances of their characterisation as you get closer to them and understand more. In this episode, Luz, King, and Eda can only see the tropes that their companions fit into, and only after living their lives for a while can they comprehend the complexity.
