I absolutely LOVE Jimmy's new prank.
Please, that's so fricking good!
I think we should consider this canon, just like with the toy Jimmy stuff. Joel isn't a god, he's just a very good illusionist. He's a scam artist.
And maybe it's not even his doing! Maybe that's just what the fountain does! It covers everything in pretty little illusions that fall away with the flick of a lever.
Joel's height? His beard? His whole floating kingdom? Nothing but a pretty illusion from the fountain. And he knows it. Oh, he knows it! That's why he's so insecure. That's why he has to constantly repeat to himself that he's tall, strong, and sexy. My man's a scam artist!

Reasons why I think Jimmy might be a fae:
When splashed with the lore revealing potion, Jimmy became tiny. It might be that the potion is false and just shrunk Jimmy's size, but it is can also be possible that Jimmy turned tiny due to being a fae in disguise.
When talking to the old sheriff [Martyn], the old sheriff calls Jimmy a Pixie. Something EXTREMELY close to a faerie/fae. Not to mention the old sheriff never gave Jimmy his name.
This might not be on purpose but Jimmy is TERRIBLE in PvP lately. He tried killing fWhip twice and failed both times. Faeries are harmed by iron, and Jimmy has a literal railroad made out of it. Maybe it weakened Jimmy but he doesn't even realise it.
Faes don't forgive easily and hold grudges against people who have acted horribly towards them. They sometimes go into the persons way to ruin stuff for them, breaking their stuff.. cursing them... attempting to kill them sometimes as well.
Fae like children a lot more than adults and in some stories are shown playing with them and causing mischief. Jimmy didn't like Hermes at first, but that was only because of Joel. When the law/lore alliance was made Jimmy IMMEDIATELY became nicer to Hermes, even calling him a kind kid at one point. Not to mention Tiny Tom! Jimmy tried so hard to get Tiny Tom back, but that might just be him being a mama bird. It's a cool thought though. [FUN FACT: FAES USUALLY STEAL CHILDREN AS WELL] // EDIT: JIMMY KEPT HIS GOBLIN CHILD BECAUSE HE'S LONELY AND WANTS SOMEONE AROUND, BUT WHEN FWHIP BECOME A NORMAL EMPOROR AGAIN HE THREW THE GOBLIN CHILD AWAY? This gave me many mixed signals.....
Jimmy has NEVER gave his actual name to people in empires, which is James. He uses nicknames for himself near others.
Fae love nature and Jimmy has shown interest in getting more plants and life in Tumbletown, he just doesn't know how to. He has asked Sausage for tips multiple times.
Jimmy might have been a fae at one point and lost his wings, or just ran away from the other faes. It's a cool theory but very unlikely. But then again, we have no idea what Jimmy was before being a sheriff.
Faeries are easily offended and might turn evil if they feel like you have betrayed/wronged them beyond forgiveness. Sounds familiar huh??? *looks at Jimmy and Fwhip aggressively*
Jimmy has done SO MANY THINGS THAT WOULD GET YOU KILLED BY A FAERIE UNLESS YOU WERE ALSO ONE.. He entered a fae ring, said his name near the fae multiple times, accepted a gift from the fae, said sorry AND thank you, went around telling others about his interaction with a faerie, and more... Either Jimmy is a faerie or he's just the faes favourite.
THAT'S ALL FOR NOW!!! COMMENT IF YOU HAVE ANY THEORIES OR EVIDENCE :D I'd love to hear it!!
EDIT: MARTYN/OLD SHERIFF CALLED JIMMY ONE OF THE FAE AND JIMMY QUICKLY DENIED IT!!! Jimmy could be a runaway fae?? Maybe that's why he was so scared of the fae corruption! He might be thinking the faes want revenge.

Been a while since I’ve posted a rant here, and now that I have Many Thoughts about Pixlriffs’ recent Empires episodes, it’s time for another one.
This isn’t really a theory as much as it is me pointing out some interesting connections and exciting details, though I do theorize a little bit.
(Spoilers for episodes 34 and 35 of Pixlriffs’ Empires S2!)
Okay first of all, it’s super interesting to me that Pix was the one to find the Crown and put it on, proclaiming himself to be the king, even saying that it “fit quite nicely” when this was his Tweet teasing Season 2:
Tumblr media
“Not all heads are suited for a crown.”
Which also feels very in-line with S1 Pix exiling himself for much the same reason; not feeling as if he was deserving of the crown and like all he did was bring upon ruin to his subjects. He deemed his head unsuited and unfit for a crown. (This is a popular theory for why he left S1 early, lore-wise.)
So Pix then wearing the Crown in S2 felt strange when his whole premise was that he isn’t a ruler this season. ...But then, in E35, the Crown itself kills Pix. He says that it “had other ideas for who was destined to wear it.” ...Interesting.
No, I have no idea why he’s now a ghost, but I’m very interested to see where he goes with it. Now that he can see the ghost cat (he made it canon!), it’s possible he’ll be able to see ghosts of other people as well... perhaps even some people from the past we might already know. It seems we might finally be approaching Pix’s S1 tie-ins, which he’s already teased once before with David (the copper aging machine). “How did the Copper King’s ancient machine end up in my hands? Trust in the lore man.” (Probably not the exact quote, but it’s close enough.)
And what does he say in this newest episode?  "Maybe the archaeologist of the ancient capital and the curator of the museum was a piece of the past himself all along."
He may very well be the literal ghost of the Copper King. After all, we already know from Sausage’s lore that the S2 characters are reincarnations of the S1 characters. They’re all the same. And sooner or later, all of them will begin to remember.
(Perhaps the Crown kills everyone who wears it and not just Pix because he’s “unfit for a crown” but who knows. Maybe everyone who wears the Crown will become ghosts; maybe the Crown kills all the past rulers. Maybe it just simply kills everyone; maybe it’s been cursed. Maybe it just kills Pix because of his early removal from the throne in S1. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.)

Hc!false and e!false theory
Ramble under the cut because BOY did this get long
I believe that e!false and hc!false sound a little bit different, which is why I think that they both appear in e!false’s flashbacks. I think that e!false is the one who said “quick, before she gets back” and hc!false is the one who said “you have to promise me-“
E!False’s voice gets a little bit strained, almost pained when she thinks about her past or the tower. Hc!false gets a headache whenever she tries to analyze her information.
Assuming theyre talking to each other in the flashbacks, their relationship at the time seems to be more close, friendly than hc!false alludes to. Hc!false says a couple of lines that imply she (or maybe both of them) were involved in some sort of experiment in their past, and that they didn’t go well.
What if e!false isn’t the only one who’s memories were altered
E!false escaped the experiments first, the flashbacks were her last memories. “Quick, [hurry with our escape] before [the scientist] get back”. Whatever she did to escape caused her amnesia. Hc!false didn’t manage to escape. “Promise me [you’ll stay safe]” “Promise me [you’ll come back for me]”
The scientists altered her memories to make her think e!false betrayed her, left her behind for dead to ensure her own escape. Then they “finished” the experiment, sent her away and sat back to watch what would happen. They pitted them against each other, made e!false out to be a selfish traitor and hc!false out to be the one who stole e!false’s memories.

I think I’ve just realized something about the gods on Empires...
S1 Lizzie and S2 Joel were both human before their godly transformation
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But when S1 Lizzie ate the Ocean Orb, and when S2 Joel jumped into the Fountain of Strength, their true godly selves were revealed
Tumblr media Tumblr media
S1 Lizzie and S2 Joel both also have memory issues where they have trouble remembering their past and the people they knew (Lizzie didn’t remember that Jimmy was her seabling, and Joel can hardly remember the names and faces of the other past gods)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the case of S1 Lizzie, the Book of Prophecies said that if she were to ever leave the ocean, she would lose her memories and forget herself, which had already happened before when she left Jimmy to investigate the salmon invasion
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now Joel doesn’t have a Book of Prophecies or anything that would say he will forget himself if he ever left the sky, but if we were to assume that something similar does happen to him when he leaves the sky... makes you wonder how and why he ended up on land as a human in the first place
It also makes you wonder, if this is the same with the other gods? That they would forget themselves once they leave their domain, and only with the aid of an ancient magical item will they be able to return to their original godly form, however they will still be unable to completely remember their past?
And what about Pearl and Bdubs? Are they even actual gods? If they are, did they forget too because they left their domains and haven’t found yet the item that will reveal their true selves? Did something happen to the other past gods that caused them to leave their domains and forget themselves too? Is this why Joel seems to believe they’re all dead and that he’s the last one left?
Well we can’t say for sure, I believe this was just a coincidence after all, but it’s a great coincidence that adds more lore and theories to the mysterious gods of the server and what happened to them

Skeletron time! I finally figured out a design I like for the sexy skeleton man.
This piece gave me such a headache and there are parts I’m still not completely happy with, but SCREW IT I’m posting it anyways! For those who don’t know I have a crack headcanon that Skeletron is linked to the skull that stole Scott's eye as well as a few of the other occurrences on the server :D

My angst-loving fandom writer self: hey what if the reason Jimmy gets so upset when people call him a toy is because of some kinda trauma, lol jk jk, unless...
And then I started expanding on it because like I said... that’s just what I do. Like, for example, what if he’s a toy who got treated badly because people thought of him as a plaything with no feelings (or at least that his feelings don’t matter), so they treated him as such, and he’s afraid that if these NEW people find out he’s a toy, they’ll mistreat him, too?
This idea came about when seeing fanart of giant Joel lifting him into the air and pulling his string to make him say things, and my mind went to Jimmy frantically covering his mouth and trying to deny it, maybe even freaking out so much that even Joel sincerely asks “Dude, are you okay?”
While I’m here, I’d like to share another idea/headcanon: Jimmy is scared of being touched because people will obviously feel his not-skin and start asking questions that he doesn’t want to answer.

guys... i think empires season 2 is going to end soon. or at the very least least, big changes are coming.
katherine’s latest episode has wrapped up her character arc
the evil king knows where sausage is, according to his latest episode
cc!scott has commented a while ago about the geography of chromia and how it can be destroyed in a natural disaster (as far as i can remember)
this is probably a stretch, but fwhip has the crown again and got it by killing katherine, which was basically what happened in season 1
the season has been ongoing for almost a year by now...
i just have a Bad Feeling About This after katherine and sausage’s latest episodes, okay?

Im probably not the first one to think of this but i have a little bit of a theory abt empires, i might just be pointing out the obvious but..
I think that ALL of the rulers are reincarnations of their season 1 counterparts,
now obviously thats like… everyone knows that, they all reference their season 1 characters, (especially sausage)
but I think that ties in with afterlife smp and why oli recognizes everyone but no one recognizes him
afterlife smp is the cannon afterlife of the empires universe.
Empires started right after almost EVERYONE on there died
they got reincarnated
But oli didn’t
when he got to empires it was like him leaving the afterlife without getting reincarnated
Thats why no one remembers him. They only met him in their afterlife

Okay, wow. So. Joey definitely managed to get in contact with the witch council. Either that or they have another mole on the inside.
And I think that my theory of them being an extremely rigid cast system isn't wrong. Or doesn't seem to be.
After all, they didn't only cast Shelby out due to a mistake, they're also branding her as dangerous and sending dangerous creatures after her. But somehow, this person they're basically trying to murder, is still fit to serve under the "truly Great Witches"? Despite being highly dangerous according to them?
Really feels like a scare tactic to beat any rebellious witch into compliance. And Shelby, whether she admits it or not, is definitely a rebellious one.

OK so in Joel's new episode he references a book about pirate Princesses, I know it's probably a throw away joke about Katherine bUT-
What if pirate Joe's onto something with Katherine?
What if Katherine's mom was a pirate princess before getting with her dad? And Katherine's curse is actually a generational one her mom had gotten in her voyages?
What if the curse had existed longer but got more powerful when Katherine was born due to there now being 2 people with the curse
What if the cure lies somewhere in the seas

So, my current running theory is that False is the Ender Dragon.
This is based on nothing but speculation and that one line at 20:10 in regards to her copper roof:
"It fits with me so so well when you finally work out uhhh who I am." *laughter* "You'll have to learn that about me as I do about the other people on the server and who they are."
That and pairing it with Copper that is unwaxed means her style is gonna be old and weathered.
Copper being the only block that visibly ages means she's been around for a very long time, afterall she arrived before the group of new monarchs and leaders even arrived.
Now I'm not saying that she is the dragon that you have to kill in order to get out of the End, but the hatched Baby from the Egg.
Because the egg is gone and as seen in the previous season the ender dragon egg is indeed capable of hatching.
Thematically this also fits in with her getting the achievement, she enters the End for the first time since she hatched.
-
If this turns out to be true well I'm gonna have to sauare down with false because boy howdy this may be a reach and if I'm right I'm gonna fight

Alright batshit definitely not plausible empires theory but if I'm right you all owe me 3 dollars and a popsicle.
Okay so here me out, False is a time traveller stuck in a timeloop.
Imagine with me alright, in the future False somehow discovers some power of time travel, whether it be from herself, others, or some sort inventions, but she finds it.
False one day, whether by accident or on purpose, travels back in time or reverses time to the moment she joined the server, but her memories are erased.
Maybe the buildings look so familiar to her because she's built those buildings before, so many times.
Maybe, she's so paranoid and cautious of everyone because someone or something in the future caused her to be sent back like this, possibly even a betrayal from one of her allies, but she doesn't remember that, she doesn't know that.
Even better yet what if the time travel was an act of self sacrifice, sending herself back in time to warn everyone about the dangers of the future, what will happen, but instead she loses her memories, maybe she travelled back too far which damages her.
Maybe she's stuck in this endless loop or betrayal and self sacrifice with no way to escape, with no way to stop it.
Maybe one day she will remember.
Thoughts?

Why Joel Has to Build His Empire By Hand
Idea: Joel has to build his own empire and Lore Village from the ground up because he's technically an ex-god. He is still technically a god, at least a little, but the only godly powers he has is creating lightening when his cheeks clap. Not very useful.
His powers from before? Being able to fly without an Elytra? His power to destroy 3 mountains with one single punch? His power to summon infinite resources? All of that is gone. Why?
Because the other gods banished him from the heavens.
"You are far too arrogant." They said, "Perhaps being a mortal and having to work to get things done will bring you a bit of modesty."
They banished him and, when they did, they erased the memories of his previous followers. No one worshipped him, no one respected him, he had nothing but himself.
So, Joel decided to built Stratos.
Stratos, a place where the people who live in Lore Village respect him. A place floating in the air as a reminder of his godliness. A place made out of Joel's favorite blocks. Sure, he is a lot more human now, but he is by far the strongest empire!
At least, that's what he says when the sun is out.
When the moon rises, Joel is reminded of his friends and family, higher in the heavens. For a second, he remembers he's not as strong as he once was. He misses his powers, misses his friends, misses everything.
The sun rises once again. Joel wakes up, alone in his floating empire that is built to worship him. Perhaps he has yet to find modesty, but he did find something.
A new group of friends, family, and even some rivals who put up with his jokes and pranks.
