a summary of the Monaco Tea, creds to the lovely anon who sent me the article <3
btw most of the information on the family was in article one, the latter were more just info on real estate + off shore accounts
again, this info is all coming from the former accountant of the family:
Prince Rainier III was seriously considering changing succession laws so Caroline would be the head of the family and Monaco as he found Albert to be weak. Albert is said to be the "despised member of the clan" who would stutter while speaking to his father. Rainier even looked into what this would mean to the Grimaldi name since Andrea - at the time 17 - obviously carries his father's name (Casiraghi) and not his mother's (Grimaldi). Rainier told the ones carrying the investigation that this was done in case Albert died.
the funds from Albert's state endowment and his private funds would be mixed all the time.
Albert would say yes to essentially everything his family asked for, including a $30 million apartment for Stephanie
Palmero (the accountant) would frequently buy things for the family to keep "their privacy". He bought Charlene's engagement ring and multiple properties for the Grimaldi's in France. He would pay property taxes for those properties and have the family pay him back.
Caroline and Stephanie would frequently make use of and sell family property (Rainier's cars, family jewelry and art, etc) without letting him know, even though they technically belonged to Albert.
Caroline is in charge of the family's castle in Marchais, which he had an issue with as she would always go off budget.
he makes a note to pay attention to Pierre Casiraghi as he is very ambitious and his dealings in real estate could create problems (spoiler alert: it did)
Caroline is said to hate Charlene
the allowance that Charlene, Caroline and Stephanie receive increases constantly, which worried Palmero. As of late, they were: 1,5 million euros for Charlene, 900.000 for Caroline and 800.000 for Stephanie yearly. This follows the family hierarchy.
Jazmin Grace receives 86,000 dollars per quarter. In February 2010, Palmero had to spend $5,000 “extra for her birthday”. Albert also bought her a $3 million apartment in New York City.
Albert spends almost a million a year funding Nicole Coste's (the mother of Albert's second illegimate child) fashion business. It's all in Alexandre Coste's name as Nicole fears that Charlene might create issues when Albert dies.
loots about Charlene. She frequently demands high sums in cash, her personal chef is $300 a day, she has multiple undocumented people from the Philippines working in her staff, the celebrations for the birth and baptism of the twins was well over half a million euros, in eight years Charlene spent around 15 million euros when she received 7.5 million euros in endowment (the Palace didn't deny this and said that the accountant was simply told to pay the difference with the family's personal funds), she spent 965,000 on a villa in two and a half months, her office decoration cost a million euros, she requested 3 x 300,000 for her brother's house.
Palmero made sure to change Monaco's regency laws so in case something happens to Albert while Jacques is underage Charlene won't be regent. Instead, the principality will be ruled by a regency council.
Albert has a secret apartment in Monaco, bought by one of Palmero's secret companies. He also got rid of problematic photographs of Albert (hinted at blackmail).
there was a whole system for hiding sums used on "special missions". They were labeled DS (for special destinations) and with time were used to pay for an informal intelligence unit that operated within the police force of the principality. They'd collect information on those close to the family and even on politians of the principality. He would also pay journalists to paint a good picture of Monaco while Hollande was president in France and was constantly criticizing tax-havens.
the DS accounts would be used to hide over-budget situations, including budget for the children's nannies and the budget for the wedding.
they were terrified of the Panama papers, as a lot of money laundering funds go through Monaco and the family had accounts on Panamanian banks.
a link between a Russian billionaire and the Monegasque Minister of Justice was revealed in 2017 and the Minister was forced to resign. An investigation was launched by a French judge and there was fears that the palace would be involved: jurisdictional immunity was granted to members of the sovereign family by order. There was rumours that the French judge wanted to hear the Prince as a witness......he was told to leave the principality. He was accused of having, through his “behavior perceived as authoritarian and vexatious”, “endangered the proper functioning of the criminal justice system”.
the real estate market is a big point of collision here and a big focus of article 3. Nothing too interesting to report - Palmero says he tried mingling in the market to break down the monopoly of real estate owners in Monaco (centered around a bestie of the Casiraghi brothers) while Albert claims Palmero had close ties with some of the developers and tried mingling with things that were of interest of the government in order to make money. The real estate issue was what eventually led Palmero to be fired. Palmero and a former laywer of Albert who was his childhood bestfriend and is also now a persona non grata claims that Albert is now fully under the influence of the bestie of the Casiraghi brothers who now controls the real estate in Monaco.
Palmaro is STILL paying property tax on properties he bought for the family!! crazy!!
Palmero detailed a number of off-shore accounts that hold about 250 million euros of the family's fortune including a company created specifically for Charlotte Casiraghi. He passed on the information from that account to Albert's new accountant at a monitored meeting.
Albert's explanation is lowkey....pathetic. He claims he told Palmero to move all of his family's assets from off-shore accounts to Monaco but Palmero never did it and that was that. He claims he was never able to obtain a precise statement on the family assets due to Palmero's secrecy and Albert just trusted him. He claims Palmero would act in his name and refuse to delay his decisions.

Tumblr media
a couple of weeks ago, i went to see my nephew at the Kalayaan Residence Hall at the University of the Philippines, to see how he is faring so far. after all, I am his registered guardian and emergency contact. thankfully, he has acclimated to "dorm life" and has learned the ropes of independent living like managing his acads, orgs, laundry, and his daily finances. i told him that dorm life can be both fun and challenging at the same time.
"mag enjoy ka sa college, but be always on guard" i reminded him as we parted ways.
Tumblr media
while driving, i realized parang kailan lang I was once a student at the ateneo and remembered how the fun moments as well as the challenging ones. to be honest, I never saw myself as the excelling type of student. For one, happy an ako if I pass an exam. i was never obsessed with high marks, basta pumasa lang goods na ako. and style ko lang kasi dati, right after class and while waiting for my next professor (usually there is a 15 minute gap) I would start on my homework na and if I find the subject hard, I make use of the consultation hours with my professors to ask them to explain the topic to me. some professors are very generous with their time, especially Dr. Queena Lee-Chua (to whom I owe a lot) while some are grumpy and would usually dismiss me "hindi ba inexplain ko na ito?" I mean what an oxymoron dismissal was that? Had I understood it, I would not have asked in the first place diba? but I learned to be patient and find ways to bridge the gap. the answer was to make friends with the staff at the Rizal Library who were instrumental in helping me find books and reserve them for me. I also owe Ate Alma, the lovely lady who manages the photocopying kiosk at school who makes possible my photocopy and ring bind needs are met on time. Nope, she is not "manang xerox" froshies, she is Ate Alma.
Tumblr media
I also remember my days at the Cervini Hall, the male dormitory of the university. although I made some friends at the dorm, I really did not engage with the residents or my roommates for that matter. I was just there to sleep and study. Until, that video of me having sex inside the dorm went around, which got me packing for another accommodation, this time a flat in front of the school, Prince David Condo. That phase of my life ruined me. The stares I got and the bouts of snickering whenever I passed by. it did not help that some of the members of Doll House (the gay org in school) had bullied me to a certain extent like I was labeled "pamintang durog" and would chant "come out, come out wherever you are" lahat yun I experienced. I don't take it against them really. times where different then, we were kids and stupid. I could have transferred to U.P. but the fear of taking the UPCAT weighed heavily which made me stay. Besides I was already in third year, and I could still muster enough grit for two more semesters.
Tumblr media
condo living liberated me of the added pressure of being a campus whore. You see, I never told my parents that I signed up for a lease. all that time they assumed I was safe in the campus dorm. thankfully, a friend who graduated and won't be using his unit found a tenant in me. so whatever little savings I had, i used for the downpayment and the advance it required. it was a small one-bedroom flat, decent enough to sleep, eat, and study. plus it had a good view of Katipunan Avenue. Good thing I had two part-time jobs to tide me over. the only challenge was I scrimped on eating out which meant daily rations of Lucky Me instant pancit canton and Argentina corned beef (which I now hate) until I get home at the end of the month and raided our pantry for supplies and the frozen ulams, manang cion sends me to reheat.
Tumblr media
of course, it was not all study hours for me. i still went out with my small group of friends for drinks. i even went on dates and brought home some for sex. I won't deny that. don't we all? basta and rule ko lang, acads before landi: homework first before blowjobs and no sex during exam week. it worked for me! and true enough, despite me underestimating myself, the validation came a month before graduation, when the list of students with Latin honors came up, and my name was included.
the pokpok has arrived and he has four medals.
Tumblr media
i was never the perfect student much more as a person to this day. my flaws are so evident but I was honest to admit that I was broken, hurt people who loved me, a failure and needed fixing but then perhaps, destiny was kind enough to give me not only a second chance but a third and fourth and more...and true enough the universe smiled at me and handed me a bowl of cherries.
so if you find yourself in a similar situation, don't lose hope. hayaan mo lang dumaan young problems mo. and importante, mahal mo and sarili mo.

"The medium is the message"
In the digital age, our interactions with various media play a pivotal role in shaping our behaviors, both as individuals and members of a larger community. Marshall McLuhan's famous, "The medium is the message," underscores the idea that the characteristics of a medium themselves shape how we perceive and interact with information.
I'm at 50/50 on this as a digital content creator and as a normal netizen. It is explained that "the medium" is an extension of our body, mind & senses which holds more value than the message itself. Example is that a simple daily vlog can deliver hundreds of message for each which makes people focus on different opinions, what they wear and what they eat on a daily basis; while the person who created the video just wanted to upload it for work purposes or even because they wanted to advertise something. We are often blinded by the content of a medium while it makes structural changes into our lives.
To relate this in our digital world today, there are a lot of known people in the Philippines called influencers or celebrities who creates such fuss for their "followers"; it may be another issue expressing their opinions or just hyping up another product they just recently purchase but their sole purpose is just plain work purposes. But viewers aren't conscious that they are being invited to purchase these things, affecting their point of views in life or even change their goals or dreams in life by just watching it.
Best example I can think of right now that made a lot of noise on all social media platforms, is the ₱299 engagement ring where a lot of people criticized the person who wrote their thoughts. A lot of people got affected and even changed their beliefs in so many ways when it comes to engagement or relationships.
In conclusion, as individuals and as a society, we must actively engage with media in a thoughtful and critical manner to foster a balanced and informed collective behavior.

Elevating Academic Success: How Clinical Psychology Can Improve Studies for Filipino Students
The implementation and the works of clinical psychologists in Cagayan de Oro city left a milestone of community and social services in improving young people's mental and physical improvements. Psychologically healthy students have higher chances of obtaining academic success, which is highly valued for better opportunities.
Clinical psychologists are crucial in providing psychological and emotional treatment to individuals and students. Their primary duty is to stabilize the community by providing solutions and relief to their psychological grievances. Let’s dive into how clinical psychologists in Cagayan de Oro help elevate students’ academic performances and success.
Understanding Academic Challenges Faced by Filipino Students
Students face various academic challenges and limitations in the Philippine education system, including limited resources, outdated or difficult curriculum, high-stakes exams, a lack of guidance and career counseling, socioeconomic factors, and more. These reasons lead to negative consequences that may cause stress or financial burden.
Students, in particular, will negatively impact their likelihood of obtaining opportunities for future success. Many of these factors still exist within the passing years and are given further attention to providing students with quality education and equal opportunities. Clinical psychologists in Cagayan de Oro have made initiatives to combat these issues.
Enhancing Study Skills and Strategies
For students to obtain academic success without feeling overwhelmed and pressured, it is important to enhance and optimize their study skills and education strategies to improve their learning experience. On the other hand, students also get to manage themselves better and learn to combat stress and school-related problems.
Enhancing study skills and strategies also helps motivate students to maintain their focus and set goals to stay engaged and committed to their academic studies. Students are more likely to be confident in achieving their goals. In the College of Medical Laboratory Science, for instance, it’s common for students to also develop their personalities to become excellent professionals in dealing with health-related concerns.
Addressing Mental Health and Emotional Well-being
Clinical psychologists play an important role in addressing students' mental health and emotional well-being. These specialists help spread awareness regarding the complex pressures and challenges students face to achieve academic success. They can do this by hosting public discussions and programs to orient people, especially students.
They also help people understand the needed change and improvements in lightening up the heavy burdens and expectations these students face daily, which rings true after a significant rise of students going through various mental health conditions. Hopefully, the awareness programs have made a huge positive impact in neutralizing these dreadful mental issues.
However, psychologists aren’t the only professionals seeking a fix for this problem, which is also often discussed in other health-related fields with the same goal. For instance, students who take the Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology are taught effective ways to assist mental health practitioners in assessing the physical state of their patients.
Bridging the Gap Between Home and School
Essential practices must be held to improve student academic growth and success. Some of these crucial practices clinic psychologists suggest is that educators should actively involve themselves in their student’s education and regularly communicate with their parents.
Another important factor is that educational facilities should also offer resources and workshops for students to lighten their burden and practice methods to ease their minds from stress and overwork. Some educational institutions sometimes host programs or events where students can take a break from all the hustle and bustle, such as games and various fun activities.
Collaborating with Educators and Institutions
Clinical psychologists also have an important role in helping these children by collaborating with educators and institutions to optimize a supportive learning environment. They will hold programs focusing on effective teaching and learning strategies, education practices, and understanding diverse student needs.
Facilities should also be tolerant to avoiding aiding students with learning disabilities and special needs to provide equal education to all students fairly, fostering a better learning environment where every student can excel in their unique ways. The primary goal is not to let discrimination rule society, especially in educational institutions.
Wrapping this up
In conclusion, clinical psychologists in Cagayan de Oro help elevate students’ academic performances and success by spreading awareness and helping parents and society understand the pressure forced on them and the improvements needed to help them. To learn more about our psychology-related courses, visit our official website and learn more about our educational system here at Liceo de Cagayan University.

June's Gem: Exploring the Beauty of Alexandrite Jewelry
Tumblr media
Introduction:- June Birthstone Jewelry
June is a month of blossoming flowers, warm weather, and the promise of summer adventures. It is a time when nature is at its most vibrant, and the world seems to be teeming with life. June is also a month that celebrates two remarkable birthstones, the mesmerizing Pearl and the enchanting Alexandrite. These gems have captivated the hearts of many for centuries and continue to be treasured for their unique beauty and symbolism. In this article, we will explore the fascinating world of June birthstone jewelry, from their historical significance to their stunning variations and contemporary uses.
Pearl - The Gem of Purity and Elegance
Pearl, often associated with purity and elegance, is the primary birthstone for June. This exquisite gem forms naturally within the shells of mollusks, particularly oysters and mussels. Pearls are unique among gemstones because they are not mined from the earth; rather, they are the result of a biological process within living organisms.
Historical Significance
Pearls have been admired for millennia, and their history is steeped in mythology and symbolism. In ancient Greece, pearls were believed to be the tears of the goddess Aphrodite. The Romans saw them as symbols of wealth and power, while in Hindu mythology, pearls were thought to bring wealth and good fortune. Throughout history, pearls have adorned the crowns, jewelry, and clothing of royalty and the elite, symbolizing purity and luxury.
Varieties of Pearls
There are several varieties of pearls, each with its own unique appeal. The most common types include:
Akoya Pearls: These are among the most classic and widely recognized pearls, known for their perfect round shape, high luster, and beautiful colors, including white, cream, and pink.
South Sea Pearls: These are among the largest pearls and are known for their impressive size and rich, natural colors. They are typically found in the waters of Australia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Freshwater Pearls: These pearls are more affordable and come in various shapes, including round, oval, and baroque. They are typically cultivated in freshwater environments.
Tahitian Pearls: Grown in the waters of French Polynesia, Tahitian pearls are famous for their unique and exotic dark colors, including black, green, and peacock.
June's Radiant Beauty: Adorn Your Moments with Pearl and Alexandrite Jewelry.
Pearl Jewelry Styles
Pearls are incredibly versatile and can be incorporated into various jewelry styles, making them a timeless choice. Here are some popular pearl jewelry options:
Pearl Necklaces: Classic and elegant, pearl necklaces come in various lengths, from chokers to opera-length strands.
Pearl Earrings: From simple pearl studs to more intricate designs, pearl earrings add a touch of sophistication to any outfit.
Pearl Bracelets: Pearl bracelets are perfect for stacking with other bracelets or wearing individually, providing a touch of glamour to your wrist.
Pearl Rings: Pearl rings can be stunning as engagement or cocktail rings, with their unique luster and charm.
Alexandrite - The Mystical Color-Changing Gem
June's secondary birthstone, Alexandrite, is renowned for its mesmerizing color-changing properties. This extraordinary gemstone was discovered in the Ural Mountains of Russia in the early 19th century and was named in honor of Tsar Alexander II.
Historical Significance
Alexandrite has long been associated with mystery and magic due to its ability to change color in different lighting conditions. It is said to bring good luck, balance, and joy to the wearer. The stone's captivating green color in daylight transforms into a rich red or purple under incandescent light. This phenomenon is often described as "emerald by day, ruby by night."
Varieties of Alexandrite
Natural Alexandrite is extremely rare and highly sought after due to its color-changing properties. Synthetic lab-grown Alexandrite is also available, offering an affordable alternative without sacrificing the gem's unique characteristics.
Alexandrite Jewelry Styles
Alexandrite jewelry is a true rarity and a symbol of luxury and exclusivity. Popular styles include:
Alexandrite Rings: Alexandrite rings are the most common choice, allowing the stone to showcase its color-changing ability with every movement of the hand.
Alexandrite Necklaces: Alexandrite pendants and necklaces are a beautiful way to keep this remarkable gem close to your heart.
Alexandrite Earrings: Earrings with Alexandrite gemstones offer subtle elegance with a touch of mystique.
Alexandrite Engagement Rings: Some couples opt for Alexandrite engagement rings, symbolizing their unique and ever-changing love.
Contemporary Uses and Trends
In recent years, June birthstone jewelry has experienced a resurgence in popularity, thanks to modern design trends and a growing appreciation for the symbolism and individuality of gemstones. Many jewelry designers are now incorporating pearls and Alexandrite into contemporary pieces, offering a fresh take on these classic gemstones. Customization is also on the rise, allowing individuals to create personalized jewelry that reflects their style and personality.
Conclusion
June's birthstones, Pearl and Alexandrite, are truly remarkable gems that have captivated humanity for centuries. Pearls, with their timeless elegance and associations with purity, and Alexandrite, with its mystical color-changing properties, offer an array of choices for those celebrating their birthdays in June or looking to incorporate these enchanting gems into their jewelry collections. Whether in classic or contemporary designs, these birthstones continue to be cherished for their beauty and significance, making them an exquisite choice for adorning oneself or gifting a loved one during this beautiful month of June.

Can I Tell You...about Berna Romulo Puyat.
Although we’ve never met in person, Berna Romulo Puyat and I have come to know each other thanks to Instagram. We started direct messaging each other a few years ago when she posted a picture wearing one of my clutches given to her by a common friend. Berna has been a long time advocate for wearing Filipino design. In her role as the Philippines Secretary of Tourism she traveled everywhere in the country and through her I saw so many beautiful destinations I have since added to my bucket list. More recently, she has been appointed the Deputy Governor of Central Bank of the Philippines.
I wanted to name a clutch after her that best embodied her spirit, style and love for the Philippines. The Berna clutch is a classic half dome silhouette crafted and molded from natural raffia. It has a variety of hand-embroidered floral motifs and other components that are all hand made in the Philippines. Each clutch has a drop-in chain shoulder strap allowing you to wear it as a crossbody bag. It’s the perfect clutch to wear if you’re going somewhere fun and festive this summer.
Read our Q & A :
1.    What is your idea of happiness?
Spending quality time with my loved ones.
2.    What is your greatest extravagance?
Traveling.
3.    What is your current state of mind?
Peaceful and content.
4.    Whose style do you most admire?
Grace Kelly! Her style was simple and classic, but never exaggerated. Grace would exude elegance, even when wearing button down shirts, capri pants, full skirts, cardigan, and ballet shoes. I also love the way she accentuated her outfits through simple accessories, such as pearls or a nice bag.
I can still visualize myself wearing her clothes because her style and fashion sense are timeless.
5.    What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Raising my children as a single parent since my husband passed away in 2010.
6.    What is your most treasured possession?
My wedding and engagement ring because, without Dave, I wouldn’t have had my children.
7.    Who is your favorite writer?
Kevin Kwan! I only watch movies or read books that have a happy ending so no surprise there.
I couldn’t stop laughing when I first read his book Crazy Rich Asians! I find his work so funny and relatable. It also didn’t come as a surprise to me when he included Filipino characters in his book, Rich People Problems.
I was fortunate enough to have met him last year and can confirm that he is as intriguing as the books he writes.
8.    Which living person do you most admire?
If I narrowed it down to two choices, I would choose my mom and dad. I am fortunate enough that my parents are still with us. My mom, Lovely Tecson Romulo, is now 83 years old and my dad, Alberto Romulo, is turning 90 this August.
Mom always inspires me to be strong and to strike the balance between being a mother and a public servant. Dad always reminds me to uphold honor and integrity in public service to preserve the trust the public places in its public servants.
9.    Where is your dream destination?
I am blessed to have visited the various UNESCO World Heritage Sites in our country such as the Rice terraces (Cordilleras), Vigan City (Ilocos Sur) Puerto Princesa Underground River (Palawan), Baroque Churches located in Intramuros, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte and Iloilo City and Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park (Palawan). So my dream is to visit other sites in other parts of the world.
The top on my list are Angkor Wat (Cambodia), Machu Picchu (Peru), Old Havana (Cuba), Works of Antoni Gaudi (Spain), Chitchen Itza (Mexico), and Serengeti National Park (Tanzania).
I also want to revisit Cappadococia, Turkey to ride the hot air balloons! Nine years ago, my daughter and I woke up as early as 4 am on two separate days to ride the hot air balloon. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to because of the weather.
10. What is your motto?
“Happiness is a choice.  Nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy. You can choose to focus on the good or the bad. I choose to be happy.”
If you love the Berna clutch and want to see the range of colors and motifs it comes in. Tap on the box below.

Where to Buy Gold Jewelry
1) A brief history of Gold.
a. Gold jewelry has been valued by humans since before ancient Egypt rose to greatness. Since gold appears in nature in its native state at a high level of purity, early humans would find gold nuggets in streams or in other deposits. Gold flakes have been found inside caves where prehistoric drawings adorn the walls suggesting that early humans discovered gold and valued it for its aesthetic qualities. Gold is a very noble metal. This means that gold can easily be formed by striking it into shapes or plates which then can be carved or turned into coins. Alexander the Great is said to have funded his campaigns using gold that his troops mined along the way in his travels. Ancient Egyptians covered sarcophagus and other items with gold to praise their gods and pharaohs. Fast forward to modern times and we are using gold not only for jewelry and coins, but for electronics, surgical implants, and other uses which exploit gold’s heat and electrical conductivity.
2) Gold Sources, Purity and Measurement.
a. Gold can be found in almost every country throughout the world. Gold is either found in alluvial deposits which are caused by rivers exposing gold deposits or in mining operations where large quantities of earth are moved and processed to extract gold. Gold naturally occurs in purities of 85% or higher. Gold is heavier than other minerals found around it and therefore it is easy to separate using water sluices. Once gold is separated from the minerals which surround it, it is refined using either a chemical method in which gold is dissolved in a solution called aqua regia, which is a strong acid solution, or it is melted along with mercury which causes impurities to concentrate in a layer of the melted gold which is called slag. Once the slag is removed, gold has been refined to 100% pure.
b. Gold is a very easy metal to alloy. This means it can be combined with other metals to achieve production goals which would make a harder metal or a metal of a different color. For example gold is alloyed with copper to make rose gold and with tin and silver to make white gold. Aside from this gold is also dissolved in solutions to create electroplating applications. These applications allow gold to be plated onto wire and for other industrial purposes.
c. In jewelry gold purity is defined by Karat. 24 karat gold is defined as gold which has 24 out of 24 parts made of pure gold. Pure gold is very soft and seldom used for jewelry as it is easy to bend and wears and scratches way too quickly. 18 karat gold, or gold which has 18 parts pure gold and 6 parts of something else, is commonly used to make high end jewelry. 14 karat gold or gold that is 14 parts pure gold and 10 parts something else, is also used to make jewelry as it is harder and more durable than 18 karat gold. Gold is measured in Troy Ounces. The old question what weighs more an ounce of gold or an ounce of feathers is actually a trick question. Gold is measured in Troy Ounces and feathers in Avoirdupois Ounces. There are 31.1 grams in a Troy Ounce and 28.35 grams in an avoirdupois ounce. Therefore the Troy ounce, the ounce of gold, is heavier than the avoirdupois ounce. Conversely, the troy pound is lighter than the avoirdupois pound. Thus making the pound of feathers heavier than the pound of gold.
3) Gold Stamps and Identification.
a. The Federal Trade Commission regulates the trade of precious metals and directs manufacturers on how to stamp and identify gold. In the United States an item must be 10 Karat Gold or higher karat to be called gold. Also, gold that is plated must be plated with 10 karat gold or better to be called gold plated. Gold jewelry fineness is identified by a stamp which tell you how pure the gold used in the piece is. 417 or 41.7 percent gold is 10 karat gold. 585 or 58.5 percent gold is 14 karat gold. 750 or 75 percent gold is 18 karat gold. Normally a piece is either stamped with a three digit number or the actual karat content, such as 14K. Jewelry which is gold plated or gold filled is stamped with a GP or GF after the karat of the gold. For example 18 KGF, denoting that this piece of jewelry was manufactured using 18 Karat Gold Filled. Gold filled jewelry is jewelry manufactured using a solid layer of gold which has been mechanically bonded to a base material such as silver or a base metal like pewter. Gold plated (GP) is when an electroplating method is used to deposit a very thin layer of gold onto silver or a base metal.

what is cockfighting and why is it big in the Philippines
Cockfighting, also known as "sabong" in the Philippines, is a popular blood sport that has been a part of Filipino culture for centuries. It involves two roosters, bred for their aggressive nature, fighting to the death inside a ring called a "cockpit." This sport is deeply ingrained in Philippine tradition and remains a significant aspect of rural life, drawing large crowds of spectators.
DS88 Sabong is one of the most popular cockfighting arenas in the Philippines. Located in Quezon City, it is a state-of-the-art facility that attracts both serious cockfighting enthusiasts and curious visitors. The arena is equipped with modern facilities, including digital screens that display real-time information about the fights, and it has become a hub for the sport in the country.
But why is cockfighting so big in the Philippines? The answer lies in the country's history and culture. Cockfighting has been a part of Philippine culture since pre-colonial times and was seen as a way to settle disputes and strengthen social ties between communities. The sport was even used by the revolutionary hero, Andres Bonifacio, as a way to raise funds for the Philippine Revolution against Spanish colonial rule.
Today, cockfighting remains a popular pastime in the Philippines, particularly in rural areas, where it is considered a form of entertainment and a source of income. For many Filipinos, the thrill of the fight and the social aspect of the sport are what make it so appealing. It provides a space for community members to come together, share stories, and engage in friendly competition.
However, cockfighting is not without controversy. Animal rights activists have long campaigned against the sport, arguing that it is cruel and inhumane. Despite this, the Philippine government has yet to ban the sport, and many argue that it is an important part of the country's cultural heritage.
In conclusion, cockfighting, or sabong, is a big part of Philippine culture, and DS88 Sabong is just one of the many arenas where enthusiasts gather to watch the fights. While the sport remains controversial, it continues to draw large crowds and remains an integral part of rural life in the Philippines.
