while we’re on the subject of Greek Myth AUs (my bread and fucking butter), might I suggest a classic Hades and Persephone fusion?

I’m thinking Hades!Ghost and Persephone!Reader (obviously) and Soap would fill the role of Demeter, except instead of being Reader’s parent he’s her betrothed. He was meant to marry her until Ghost kidnapped her and took her to the Underworld, and when Soap finally finds her and sees her chained to Ghost’s throne he realizes no matter what he does Ghost is never going to let her go… so they may as well share her, hm?

Or maybe a Tantalous AU, where Soap decides to kill and serve his wife (Reader) to the gods and Ghost is so furious(because what the fuck) and so intrigued (because what the fuck) that he drags Soap to the Underworld. He puts your shade back in your body and when he sees how stunningly beautiful you are he decides he just has to keep you. And his favorite way to torture the two of you outside of rough fuckings? Dangling freedom right over your heads, just out of reach, so that you never forget that you belong to him forever.

hephaestus!ghost, ares!soap, aphrodite!reader. reader never met her beast of a husband (she's heard the stories, and he's never made any attempt to see her in person, only sends the occasional handmade gift - every time she shows up to his forge, it's empty, like he knew she was coming) with soap who takes care of the lonely goddess of beauty when her husband won't <3 ghost eventually catching them in a net together, and deciding to go ahead and use the both of them, and seeing what he's been missing out on

deimos & phobos soap and ghost who haunt their favorite human <3 it's just sooo fun to see how spooked she gets when they get near, her fear and panic is sooo delicious

It's like you've been reading my mind Eros lol

I've been thinking about Alpha getting a bit fatter after retirement for days now. It goes unnoticed by him for a long while, finally having unrestrained access to food and no longer living on the strange hours that a life on tour has you growing accustomed to. He doesn't pick up on the weight gain until he gets his once yearly physical, and simply shrugs it off.

Some others, mainly the vain creatures that humans are, view this change as him stagnating in retirement. A sign of over-indulgence in so called "creature comforts". But to Alpha it's comfort weight- finally feeling secure and having a set schedule, not jet-setting all over the world and not knowing what day it is. He's absolutely overjoyed by it, to have some sign that retirement was best for him.

i was thinking that one of the first to notice might was Secondo, because he knew Alpha for long and then saw the ghoul in an old shirt of his, but instead of hanging "loose" over the belly it was filled out there. And Secondo thought it was great, because Alpha somehow looked more healthy than he did on tour all those years.

In your Eros and Psyche au, do Red Son and Xiaotian renew their vows or do another wedding with their families later in the au? Their daughter, even though a baby, would be a cute flower girl.

I never thought about it, but probably yes!

Probably after Season 5 when Li Jing makes the mistake of calling Huiying a bastard because Spicynoodles never actually filled out a marriage certificate or did the three bows ceremony. Heaven just threw Xiaotian at Red and left.

DBK insists on a wedding when he hears about this and Xiaotian agrees because he doesn't actually have wedding robes, just funeral robes. Huiying is the flower/ring bearer, with a trained monkey pulling her in a cart full of flowers.

And she is adorable.

Going to have to go with this one. Not 100% sure I'd say its my absolute favorite but its definitely in the Top 5.

The Eros/Psyche myth has long been one of my favorites, so adapting it to Codywan was soooo much fun for me. The story itself, determining who to use as side characters...I enjoyed it all so much. Plus, I commissioned art for it that turned out gorgeous and I love it so, so much.

I enjoyed it so much, I wrote a couple side fics for it and a follow up smutty oneshot too, lol

"Ugh, I can't believe him!"

Qi Xiaotian marched out of the waterfall, not even glancing back at his home as the waters closed. None of the monkeys were around, so none of them could rat out his furious grumbling.

Look, he knew his and Red's relationship hadn't had the best start! But they were doing fine now, with a home and an upcoming baby and everything. He felt the flutter of the latter kicking and sighed, pressing his hand to where she kicked. They had fixed things.

Maybe not enough...

He couldn't believe his father had suggested that, maybe, Red being kidnapped was for the better. Xiaotian collapsed on the bank next to the stream, glaring at his reflection. "He's my husband," he grumbled. "I want him back. That isn't an unreasonable request, right?"

"Right."

Xiaotian nearly gave a start at the voice before groaning. He knew this voice. "Baba, please, I just-" He turned and came to a pause at the sight that greeted him. "You aren't Baba."

Instead of golden fur and a peach-colored mask, white teeth grinned at him from dark fur and a red mask.

"Yeah, no." The monkey leaned closer. "I'm better."

How is the Eros and Psyche retelling so complex??

They literally had the most simple and gentle love story in Greek mythology. They are famous because, we see the perseverance of a man even when he is possessed by passion and the effort of a woman to overcome many obstacles in order to achieve the happiness of love.

Also it bothers me that yet again they changed a thousand years old myth to fit "modern audience" like sorry people 3.000 ago didn't have time to put labels and care for every social thing, they tried to survive 😅
