Ten years ago today, Eric Garner was killed by an NYPD officer who put him in a prohibited chokehold while arresting him.

Mr. Garner’s final words, “I can’t breathe,” became a rallying cry for the Black Lives Matter movement.

TW Mentions of death and implied self termination.

Larz grew up with her sister Terra-Li, her mother Etsi and her father Esaw.

Esaw was both physically and mentally abusive to Larz and her family.

One day (at the age of 11), Larz packs up her things and flee’s from her family, although guilty leaving her mother and sister behind.

Larz is found by Anne-xiety, standing on an overpass after getting lost.

Larz slips and Anne catches her by her arm, pulling her up and consoling Larz.

Anne takes her in the house to her mother, December, who accepts her as her own child.

Anne takes on a sisterly role to Larz, and they grow really close, drawing, cleaning and watching tv together.

One day, Anne has an argument with December and packs a few things to leave, taking a family portrait with her.

Anne makes her way out of the house and steps into the road, not seeing the car coming through her blinding stress, and gets hit, killing her instantly.

After December runs out of the house to hear screaming, she calls the police, alerting Larz.

She runs out into the road to see Anne’s lifeless body, her hand holding the portrait she was so attached to. Larz shakes her to wake up but to no avail, and starts to cry, holding her sister’s hand.

Fast forward some time and Larz is an adult, having lived with December for 12 year. Larz decides its finally time to leave and has one last meal with December before departing for the 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮.

Larz buys and hands in her ticket to enter, walking the halls to find a specific media to insert herself into.

She finds the 80’s claymation animated series “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗽 𝗗𝗼𝗼𝗿” on DVD and puts it into the DVD player, and then she disappears.

She finds herself in a dark, somewhat wet area with total silence.

She walks some distance before hearing a bit of noise and some talking. Looking up, she sees a square outline of light.

She knocks, and the trap door is opened.

She sees Berk, a blue blob like creature staring back at her.

Berk sees only her large, black and white eyes, which frightens him.

Larz steps out, her large 8 foot figure towering over Berk, as he looks on in shock.

she bends down to his level, her eyes dilating, which frightens Berk more.

She stands back upright and backs up, not wanting to scare him, which she already has.

They exchange names and a few words, after which she notices Drutt and screams, jumping into Berk’s arms in fear.

Berk backs up and sets Larz on the floor behind him.

She notices Boni and exchanges a greeting and a few words.

She then starts to clean the castle, to Berk and Boni’s amusement.

Erica Garner (May 29, 1990 - December 30, 2017) was an activist, writer, and leader in the Black Lives Matter movement. She was thrust into a life of activism after the murder of her father Eric Garner, who was killed while held in an illegal chokehold by a New York Police Department officer in 2014.

She was born to Eric Garner and Esaw Snipes-Garner. She was raised in Brooklyn and was the eldest of her father’s children. She stepped into the forefront of activism focused on police brutality. She held rallies twice a week in Staten Island, where she would perform a “Die-In”, by lying on the ground prone in the spot where her father was killed. She worked with Rev. Al Sharpton on her father’s case and spoke out on police brutality issues.

She became involved with the Black Lives Matter movement, traveling and speaking around the world at marches and peaceful protests. She wrote numerous articles about unpublicized incidents of police brutality toward African Americans. She became an early supporter of Senator Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign, appearing in a video for the candidate. She took her fight for justice for her father to the White House. She met with President Barack Obama after a Town Hall meeting on the second anniversary of her father’s death, to talk about the policies and politics that follow police brutality cases.

Following the birth of her son in September of 2017, she was notified by doctors that she had an enlarged heart, and was in imminent danger of other serious medical issues. She suffered a major asthma attack, which caused her to have a heart attack. She was placed into a medically induced coma but incurred major brain damage due to the lack of oxygen to her brain during her heart attack.

She left behind her eight-year-old daughter and four-month-old son.

A $6 million out-of-court settlement was paid to the Garner family by the city of New York in 2015 in response to the death of her father. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence
