Please pray and raise awareness for Cole Brings Plenty, a Lakota actor and student. He was found on april 5th. This is such an awful and cruel act of violence, im having a hard time finding the words.
April 8th Rising Hearts has organized Braids for Cole, so please wear your hair in braids and bring awareness so that Cole and his family can get justice.

i never would have thought of it but i can definitely see the cass daredevil similarities with the self destructiveness and the ability to kill but choosing not to. im so curious about what ur reasoning is for jason and spidergwen
I think Jason as spider gwen really shows my thinking process when it comes to this like combin Jason and spider gwens stories - Jason todd is still adopted by Bruce, he can still be a hero but he can also not be, it doesn't really matter bc a big enermy of Bruce still kills him and like gwen Stacy he stays dead but years down the line a new Jason shows up from an alternate universe were Bruce died instead of Jason - Jason with spider powers aswell would give big scarlet spider vibes but bc this is a Jason from an alternate universe you can really go any which way hero villain wise and also bc marvel is a bit more wishy washy lines blurred with their heroes villains it doesn't really matter

people are going "what should tom being instead of a cop" and a bunch of suggestions I've seen is fire fighter or park ranger. I used to think park ranger would be a perfect fit, until it was pointed out that national parks/nature conservation is deeply rooted in racism and colonisation. here is a really good article on it. so park ranger tom isnt any better than cop tom
as for being a fire fighter, I dont know, because I dont know a lot about specifically american fire fighters (I'm pretty certain they function differently than Australian ones), and I learnt my lesson about blindly trusting jobs/organisations/industries etc just because they sound good. I dont have it in me to research the history of fire fighting atm, so I'm still in the "trophy husband/housewife tom or perhaps librarian tom" camp

#So I’m still thinking of that post that talked about idolatry in singing America the beautiful in Catholic mass and it hit me today#Why that specifically doesn’t sound like idolatry#And I wanna reiterate that the spirit in which it’s done *does* matter and mine may just be best at it BUT#Catholicism was not the national religion of England at the time of America’s founding (honestly don’t know how much of a minority it was i#England but I know it wasn’t the majority) And Catholicism was a seriously small minority in America at the time#If somehow the Protestant factions had managed to make a national religion then Catholicism would not only not have been it#It would’ve opened up more persecution for them#Now I see religious freedom as a huge benefit to us all but especially to religious minorities and at the time that included Catholicism#And I’m not saying America is the only country with religious liberty now but I am saying we set a standard and I see it as right and prope#To give glory to God for it#And to not act like He’s totally separate from earthly governments#(He’s *above* them yes but shouldn’t be kept *out* of them)#I’m still not putting this as well as I want but I’ll go ahead and post anyway#It’s just… we’re allowed to be grateful to God for the freedoms we have and a good look at the American Revolution is#Spectacular for showing the workings of Providence#And always always moves me to immense gratitude#I want to be clear on one more thing and that is that I don’t hold with replacement theology. We’re not the second Israel.#America could fall (I’m talking totally and not of the slow corruption we have) and the world would go on turning#And maybe the opposite attitude is really what that post was about? Idk I’ve heard of people like that but not as part of my church.

i will say this tho… the reason why most kpop groups don’t come to europe is because in comparison to maybe the usa, the market for kpop music there is better than in europe and also since companies nowadays are obsessed with making groups international (promoting them in the us basically) they know it’s easy money over there honestly that’s what i think
#not saying that in europe there aren’t kpop fans#which there are#i would say there are a lot in france and spain and perhaps italy??#but like when they quote on quote tour europe they only go to those countries#and in hindsight the tour ends up being small and there’s not that much profit#compared to what the us brings tbh#i hate to admit it but it’s true lol#the music industry like the western one mainly happens in america#and when groups tour there’s no doubt they will go there#there’s also that guarantee#but also what i don’t get is how they don’t go to south america#when especially brazil has a lot of kpop fans???#i feel like south america has a lot of kpop stans especially in recent years#but all of this to say that yes it’s a good decision#i don’t think it is lmao#i never went to a concert bc of travel costs#when tours happen in europe is never in portugal so#the closest thing i have is spain or france#but that’s too much money for an average person like me#so i am not abt to make that awful financial decision#as much i want to see my fave groups#but it’s true that kpop is international#and is getting more and more international#and companies don’t do tours outside of the us#and i’m not talk about asia bc of they tour in asia that is a given#i mean outside of asia they only go to america#and MAYBE … very rarely… five european countries#anyways this is getting long but you get what i mean#it’s sad that a lot of people don’t get opportunities for many reasons#tris.txt

no like when I say any answer on the queerest city poll that’s not San Fran is wrong I mean it is factually and historically WRONG
#just. look at the history of lgbt rights and major events in queer history in the us#and I’m telling you it is. in fact. dominated by San Francisco#the other cities that contend for the most part are major us cities that contend simply because they are big and/or heavily populated#like yeah obviously dense cities are going to have a higher number of people in various demographics. im thinking mostly about nyc and#Chicago here for the most part#San Fran is not big. it’s dense but not nearly an nyc level population especially historically.#it’s very unique for having been a safehaven for queers for a long time in comparison to the rest of the country#now I am not. by any means. defending it on every front. or considering it superior in any other way basically. I am SOLELY talking about#it’s unrivaled huge and powerful and long-standing queer community#it is- in the present day- literally almost impossible to live in San Francisco. period. it is absurdly expensive.#it’s homelessness situation especially due to the insane cost of living and there takeover of tech companies and so on#is horrific and for no damn reason (the city has enough money to house people Easily through at LEAST the heavy tourism)#the queer COMMUNITY there is what’s important and it’s history of demanding rights and generally flourishing through their own efforts#anyway idk why I felt the need to ramble about this#actually yes I do it’s becuase I think a lot of younger queer people (or queer people who grew up in isolated or conservative areas don’t#know the history associated with San Francisco and why people regard it as being so fundamentally queer#like the fact that portland is in second on that poll- and this is coming from someone who likes portland overall- is so weird to me#it’s a very progressive place but boy it ain’t got the influence and history that San Fran- or even New York or chicago- have#again it’s hard to compare those big big cities to anything but nonetheless#tangential but. sacramento is also a queer-dense city and though we are small and not nearly as flashy as the other contenders it’s worth#noting I think for being more of a safehaven than people tend to think about#anyway. that’s nothing I just had to represent for a second#kibumblabs

I am gripping you by the shoulders and begging you to listen when I tell you teens want to be outside so bad. We want to be outside so fucking bad you have no idea
#ramblings of a lunatic#WE DON'T LIKE STAYING INDOORS ON SCREENS ALL DAY EVERYDAY ITS NOT FUN IT DOESN'T FEEL GOOD#yes there are exceptions and yes we like to do it more than previous generations but by god if it doesn't take a toll on your mental health#AND WE KNOW THIS BTW. WE'RE COMPLETELY FUCKING AWARE OF THIS FACY#*fact#but it's like. there's such a lack of options sometimes#like for example- i live in a pretty small town. walkable but not without some effort#there's no shopping centre (mall for americans) and maybe 3 parks (one of which is up a hill on the far side of town)#there are community centers but they're underfunded and don't cater to teens- especially not as casual hangout spaces#so like. unless you corall all your friends into one persons house (me and my friends generally go out in a group of 8-10 ppl-#-so while going to one persons house is doable it's not the most convenient and again this a small town. lots of the houses are small too)#or are willing to hangout at a park (a place where there's generally going to be young children and their parents-#-which isn't a deal-breaker by any means but can make kids feel like intrusions or even be perceived as sketchy)#(this is generally what me and my friends have to come to terms with everytime we hangout since we usually do it in the park)#then like. where the hell do you go?? yknow??????#also plenty of my friends live in rural areas where it's a 20 or 30 minute drive into town and only one of us has his license#all this to say#I'd really love to see some statistics on what the hangout habits of kids from different living areas is like#because i have a feeling that kids who grow up in big relatively walkable cities with public transit and nice hangout spots#are getting out of the house a lot more often than a bunch of lower and middle class teens scattered across rural country spaces-#-and a town with little to no space for them to just exist without doing some kind of activity to justify their presence#this isn't even touching on helicopter parenting that prevents kids from being independent#anyway yeah i wish i was not on my phone so much i enjoy life better when I'm not on it but. god does not love me so <3
