💙 Flashback Friday #11 💙 – DeviantArt
DeviantArt wasn’t just a website—it was a rite of passage for an entire generation of online creatives. Launched in 2000, it quickly became a haven for artists, writers, photographers, and daydreamers looking for a space to share their work and connect with others who got it. Whether you were posting anime fan art, angsty poetry, or lovingly crafted Sonic OCs, DeviantArt gave you a stage—and more importantly, an audience. For many teens, it was the first place they felt truly seen and validated for their creativity, especially in a world that didn’t always understand their passions offline.
The site’s culture was as colorful and chaotic as the art it hosted. There were unspoken codes of conduct, intense fandoms, and sprawling comment sections where critiques, collaborations, and conversations flowed freely. Watching your pageviews tick upward or getting a llama, “fav” or thoughtful comment could make your entire week. Profile pages became digital homes, each one meticulously customized with skins, journal entries, and stamps that proudly displayed your obsessions and identity. For some, DeviantArt was the first time they openly explored their interests or artistic voice—and that freedom to experiment shaped not just portfolios, but people.
Beyond just posting art, DeviantArt fostered a community culture of interaction and growth. Art trades and request threads built connections. Critique groups helped young artists improve their skills with peer feedback. And let’s not forget the legendary drama—flame wars, call-out journals, and mysterious profile disappearances were all part of the DA experience. But even the drama reflected how invested people were; it was messy, emotional, and deeply human. You weren’t just uploading drawings—you were participating in a digital ecosystem where artistry and self-expression ruled.
Though DeviantArt still exists today, it’s a very different space from the one many of us remember. The rise of faster-paced platforms like Instagram and TikTok has shifted the online art landscape, and DA’s redesigns and changes in community culture have left some longtime users nostalgic for the old days. Still, its legacy remains intact. DeviantArt taught countless young creators not just how to draw or write—but how to be artists. It was a place where imagination ran wild, identities formed, and creativity was currency. For many, it wasn’t just a website. It was home.
-----
What was the very first thing you ever posted on DeviantArt—and do you still have it? How did DeviantArt shape your creative identity growing up? If the old-school DeviantArt vibe came back, would you jump back in with your art today? Let us know!

Rank The Process Ask Game
Thank you @charmfamily for the tag! Tagging @daniigh0ul @morgynember @esotericas-sims @fallstaticexit @surely-sims and @fledermausbend
"As storytellers, there are so many pieces of our craft and I'm curious how you would rank each step of the process. Rank each of the following on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 lowest, 5 highest): Setting up the scene (building sets, decorating, etc), Posing the sims (creating / find poses, and setting up the sims), Styling the sims (cc hunting, time spent in cas), Writing the dialogue/story, Editing the photos. Send to three other story simblrs and get to know more about each others favorite and least favorite part of this crazy process!"
Gonna put my answer below the cut bc it's a little long.
Setting up the scene – 🌟🌟🌟🌟
There’s something really cathartic about building — I genuinely enjoy it, especially when it flows. But it can get frustrating when I’ve written a scene that hinges on a specific piece and I just can’t find it. I had a moment like that recently in When the Light Comes In — I needed melon bread, and it was like it didn’t exist. (I did eventually find two versions, but it left me frazzled!) That said, when everything does come together, it’s super rewarding.
Posing the Sims – 🌟
Absolutely hate this. Finding poses? Easy enough. Making poses? Doable, a little tricky. But watching Sims pop out of position mid-scene? A nightmare. Every time someone launches out of their chair or resets while I’m lining up a shot, a little piece of my soul crumbles. It’s the most rage-inducing part of the process for me, hands down. TOOL makes it easier though.
Styling the Sims –🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love this part maybe a little too much. I’ll spend hours tweaking a Sim’s look to get everything just right — and I’m constantly downloading new CC, especially when a character has a specific aesthetic or I’m aiming for the perfect vibe. I had like seven different uniforms lined up for When the Light Comes In and still defaulted to the Copperdale Set by CloudCat because it just sat right. That said, a lot of my stories have stalled after CAS — not because I hate writing, but because my brain goes, “Well, we made the Sims. Mission accomplished.” Also, I still love a good subtle colour code. Not full Berry, but the influence is definitely there.
Writing the dialogue/story – 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love to write. I’ve always wanted to be an author, and writing Sims stories — even if it’s just dialogue — is so deeply rewarding. I tend to go overboard, especially with dialogue-heavy stories, and will write the entire thing out before I even open the game. I have to actively stop myself from slipping into full prose, but I love how much can be told through just the dialogue and the Sims themselves in the shots I take. One day I’ll get around to writing my mostly-prose projects (Bondbreaker, Genesis) and then you’ll really see.
Editing the photos – 🌟🌟🌟
I enjoy editing, but it can be a bit tedious. I rely a lot on GShade in-game for most of the heavy lifting, and then move into Photoshop afterward. I typically use Intramoon’s Sonder actions to add a little drama — sometimes more than a little. Editing can get more meaningful when the story calls for it; for example, the saturation in When the Light Comes In shifts over time as Bob starts to realise he likes Eliza. Other times, it’s just about getting the basics right.

10 Shows (gifs), 10 People 📺
Tagged by the lovely @isleofair, thank you so much for including me! This one looks like a super fun one! 💚💚 These aren't going to be in any particular order, just 10 shows that I liked enough to incorporate into my personality or just really really liked growing up 😆🌟
1 Inuyasha
My very first anime I watched with the actual knowledge of what anime even was. Shout-out to my big bro for getting me into it when I was 10. Helped me make one of my very best friends to this day and I have such fond memories of this anime. 💗
2 House MD
My favorite medical drama to watch! Some episodes had me thinking 'I can't believe my mom was okay with me watching this show' 😆 I still remember so many episodes vividly and I really want to re-watch it all again now that I'm an adult XD
3 Chrono Crusade
Oh lord the things this show did to my teenage brain 💗 I shit you not I would finish this series and then REWATCH IT ALL OVER AGAIN ON THE SAME DAY, I was hardcore obsessed with this show!! Permanently altered my brain chemistry, and unfortunately in the process I watched it so much I ruined it for my older brother 😂😂 To this date this show has one of the most powerful shows of intensity coupled with the most bittersweet ending I have ever seen 😭 Like literally, hmu about this show because there's no one else I know that even KNOWS what this show is and I am always down to talk about this one any time!! (This gif of Chrono was too cute not to use!!)
4 Tiger & Bunny
This show. These two. Holy shit. 💯 they've definitely altered my brain waves too XD This show has some of the most dynamic characterization, design and storytelling I've seen in a long time! I definitely got into it later in life but I'd say I got into it at just the right time. An anime about the nitty gritty of superhero life specifically made with adult audiences in mind 💚
5 Code Lyoko
I was obsessed with this show when it first launched on cartoon network! A unique blend of 2D and 3D animation with all kinds of dangers and hijinks. The 3D is definitely a little aged but I think it still holds up well for a show made in '03. Me and my brother used to quote this show all the time and giggle over the dumb jokes so much that my mom dropped the rule of needing to be excused from the dinner table for reasons I can't remember XD Shout-out to Odd for being my first introduction to a cat-like person with his 3D model 💜
6 Case Closed / Detective Conan
Murder mystery anime for the win!! Still ongoing even after 28 years of airing 💯 I'm going through and trying to complete an entire series watch!I didn't get into this one until 2011 with the 6th movie (they played it at our library's local anime club meeting) and only watched the dub until recently, but at least I have a lot to watch! 💚
7 Xiaolin Showdown
I loved this cartoon! Fun, exciting, well rounded characters and villains, amazing plots and fun times all around! I remember they even had a contest for this show to design your own weapon that would be later added into the show! Jack Spicer is a hilarious villain and shout-out to Chase Young for being my first fictional crush ever 💚
8 Pokemon
Raichu my beloved!!! 💚💚Aside from Raichu, I loved this show growing up. Ash was such a fun and likeable protagonist for me as a kid and heck this show is even the reason why I have my irl nickname in the first place. I legit teared up when Ash was finally no longer the main protagonist of the series anymore lol!
9 Avatar: The Last Airbender
Ironically, we did not have cable at the time this show was at the height of it's popularity, so I was only able to watch it when my parents took me and my brother over to our friends house. (Our parents were friends so naturally all us kids were friends too!) But we would all get super excited when this show was on, especially if the episode was new! I think we used to pretend to be the characters? XD And I remember the eldest sister of our friends came by one day with avatar fruit snacks for us all, it was awesome 💯💚 Zuko still has one of the best redemption arcs I've seen in a show 👌
10 Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles
A middle school favorite!! For months I wanted everyone in school to call me Sakura 😅 Still have my DVDs and a few manga books for this series. Loved it a ton even if the anime itself never did wrap up the story completely. The OVAs were bad-ass though, and a lot of the OST is still downloaded to my ipod 💯 (Yes I still use an ipod in 2024 lmao) (Looks familiar? The Manga artists of Cardcaptor Sakura, Magic Knight Rayearth, and Chobits also made this one - CLAMP!)
Holy fuck this took way longer to pull together than I thought it would! I think I spent over an hour?? XD But it was super fun anyway!! I will see if these cool cats would also like to do this one! (I can't think of 10 sorry! XD)
@prismaticpichu @up-sideand-down @kazeshxni @thatrandomartistyoufound @aerislei @enide-s-dear @waifujuju @nicoroni
And of course no pressure if you aren't feeling up to it!! 💚💚

Volume 4 - Post #6: Count your blessings
Another installment in this ongoing serialized fanfic
Genre: Mandalorian x Fem! Reader
Total word count: 2K (sixth post in Volume 4)
Rating: Explicit - smut, language, +18 *NSFW*
_______________________________
VI. It takes the better part of a day to hide the Razor Crest under the tree canopy. At some point in the afternoon, you stop looking up from your work, expecting the Mandalorian to emerge from behind one of the tall ferns carpeting the forest floor. It often took him days to track down his quarry. He wouldn’t be back anytime soon.
Instead, you dig into another round of roasted fish and listen to Nito’s unsettling story about exactly how he gained access to the Imperial archive. Which involved the spouse of a sitting Galactic Senator and a dominatrix.
“My concern is that Mando didn’t properly contextualize this,” you say, picking a bone out from between your teeth. “You see, sometimes consenting adults want to pretend—it’s important that they’re just pretending—because everyone participating enjoys—”
“Ah! Stop!” He places all four hands over his ears.
“And for the record, I’m not against paying for sex work under ethical conditions. Especially in that kind of scenario where professional expertise—”
“Stop talking!”
“Okay. Okay,” you wave him down. “The only other thing I want to say, is that I encourage you to get comfortable with the basics and develop good communication before you think about exploring—”
The Ardennian throws a handful of fiddleheads at you. “What do I have to do to make you stop talking?!”
“Alright, I’m done! Just know I’m here, if and when you want to talk.”
“Sure,” Nito sneers. “Cause you and Mando are so great at communicating.”
“Wow!” You glare at him. “That was mean, little sidekick.”
“Sidekick?” He practically chokes on the word. “I am not your—don’t call me sidekick.”
“Yeah? Well, don’t start slinging shit around if you don’t want to step in it.”
You extend Nito a hand in truce and somehow manage to avoid slapping the condescending look off his face when he rolls his eyes.
“Right. So what did you learn from these uncensored records?”
Nito had already done an extensive amount of sleuthing on the HoloNet for site plans, handbooks, technical documents, senate committee reports, and whatever else he could find about the Empire’s coaxium production on Lakaran.
“When Ubaa Dir found us on Sriluur…I kept thinking about how the Tagge Corporation makes so much money. Everything they do is about cost-savings and shortcuts. There’s no way they would build a completely new operating system. They’ve just been overwriting and patching the old lines of Imperial code. And now I know which program they used.”
That makes you sit up straighter. “You mean…you did it? You designed something that can take over the refinery?”
“Not just the refinery,” Nito says excitedly. “The entire facility. Door locks, alarm protocols, climate control. I can turn the decorative fountains on and off if you want me to.”
“Nito, that’s—”
“A feat of astounding genius,” he finishes for you with a spectacularly smug look. The size of this kid’s ego probably generates its own gravity.
“Yes, I am humbled to be in the presence of such boundless intellect. Getting back to the malware you so ingeniously created. Are you saying all I have to do is launch this program, and you’ll have remote access to the operating system?”
Nito’s bad moods usually fall somewhere along the spectrum of sarcastic brat to sulky drama queen, but the way his nostrils flare, and eyes dilate is pure outrage. He looks absolutely livid.
“Uh, no. I’m not doing anything remotely,” he scoffs at the absurdity of your suggestion. “I need to be onsite to work on the TaggeCo network.”
“Look, Nito, I’m sorry about the snarky sidekick remark. I know it feels like being an equal member of the team means taking on equal risk, but—”
“Because I am!” He shouts. “You think my voice in your earpiece is all you need to splice into their systems? They will try to override my program with anything they can throw at it. You think Mando can deflect those kinds of attacks? Because you sure as hell can’t. You need me there.”
“That’s not our only responsibility, Nito. What are we going to do? Bring a toddler with us on a heist?”
“Yes!” Nito exclaims.
Your jaw drops open. “When Ubaa Dir’s fighters launch a ground assault to take the refinery, some dead-eyed TaggeCorp exec back on Coruscant is going to decide whether destroying the entire facility under the cover of some ‘industrial accident’ is better for their bottom line. And if we don’t have control of the network when they make that call, everyone will die. So, yeah, you’ll be talking to me through an earpiece because I don’t want you, or the kid, anywhere near.”
“And what if someone blocks the receiver signal, huh? What if you’re in a fight, it falls out and gets crushed? What then, Thuli?” He growls at you, jaw set with conviction. “Just because you’re scared doesn’t change the fact that you need me!”
Gods, you’re so bad at navigating conflict. Your body becomes so overwhelmed with anxiety that you actually stand up from your seat next to the fire and start pacing. The Child, who had been sleeping next to you on the blanket, stirs—eyes blinking wide in confusion.
“Of course, I’m scared! We’re jeopardizing the lives of innocent people. What? Were you hoping to startle me into some kind of epiphany?!”
The Child whimpers in distress, clinging to your knees until you pick him up. “I know you resent being back on babysitting duty—”
“He’s not a baby,” Nito snaps. “And I know you know that.”
“What—?”
“Okay, he might be a baby, but he’s not helpless. He can…do things,” Nito says in a hushed whisper. “And if I’ve seen it, I know you’ve seen it too.”
You draw in a sharp breath and drop your gaze toward the kid. But he’s already back asleep, contented in the safety of your arms.
So…we’re finally having this conversation. Part of you reflexively wants to deny it. Honor Mando’s wishes and say nothing. Convince Nito that it’s all a figment of his overactive imagination.
It’s painful realizing how comfortable you’ve become with dishonesty. How readily the lie springs to your lips. Erenada, this is what’s eating Humia alive—the compulsion to reach for deceit instead of truth, even when it serves no purpose.
“What have you seen him do?”
The tension in Nito’s posture melts away. Instead, he becomes alight with fascination, eager to share this memory he’d replayed in his mind countless times. He’s so excited he can barely think straight.
“Mando tracked his bounty to Numidian Prime, but the guy nearly shot us down from the sky. I was making repairs to the engine turbine…It was so humid out that all this moisture had collected on the wing. When I opened the injector panel, these mynock came out of nowhere. Just flew at my face, attacking me. And I slipped, but…I didn’t fall. Something…caught me. Some kind of force that held onto me.”
A force.
You recall seeing a shimmering wave when the Child moved the boulder to save Mando’s quarry trapped underneath. Like a haze over desert sand as he lifted the rock above the cave floor. And you’d thought that same thing—that it was a forcefield, somehow wielded by this tiny creature.
Nito’s shoulders slump. “It was him. He saved me.”
The kid’s mouth twitches, his hands opening and closing while he dreamed, blissfully unaware that he’s the subject of your whispered speculation. The Mandalorian may want to hide these abilities, but they couldn’t be contained.
“I’ve seen it, too,” you nod. “He lifted this boulder a thousand times his weight and size.”
“Do you know how he does it? I mean, you can do…stuff,” Nito raised all four arms helplessly. “You both have powers. How is it possible?”
“I—”
In this case, it’s probably best to leave the truth unspoken. If Nito knew what you were truly capable of—the things you'd done, the accidents—as a child? He would never look at you with that trusting gaze ever again. And you’re not ready to give that up.
“I’ve never heard of a Hapan able to manipulate inorganic matter. My power is tied to the connection between living things. I wield...physiology. Granted, I never finished my training. There is secret knowledge only practiced by the most revered sages. But I don’t know how he does it.”
“Can’t you just look inside his mind for answers?”
“No,” you shake your head. “I can’t read someone’s mind like pages in a book, Nito. If he were to focus on a particular thought or memory, I might witness it, but I can only sense emotion.”
Thinking back to that day in the cave, you remember, “He felt…sadness. And guilt. Maybe it was different that time…it took him a long time to access his power because he felt so conflicted about it. Not like with you and—he saved Mando, too—from a charging Mudhorn—”
Nito huffed, and a hateful smile spread across his face. “So you and Mando have known this whole time, and you never said anything to me?”
Fuck! Kriffing hell, there’s no avoiding this…so much for that trusting gaze.
“I—yes. Mando asked me never to speak about it, but I should have pushed back. You deserved to know. I’m sorry, Nito. I made a mistake.”
This did nothing to mollify the rage building up inside the Ardennian. He stomps forward to shove a finger in your face.
“Well, I don’t forgive you! I don’t know why Mando doesn’t trust me…but you didn’t push back because you liked sharing a secret with him. He’s the only thing you’ve ever cared about out.”
Your head snaps back as if you’d been slapped. “Nito, that’s not—”
“And he doesn’t even care enough about you to be here. Look around, Thuli. Mando’s not here. I am!”
Ouch! Okay, you might have deserved that. He’s right, after all. You’d been so touched that Mando trusted you with this secret, you hadn’t really thought about hurting Nito. But damn, did this kid have to rip your heart open to bury the knife in your chest?
“Can we talk about this without—?”
“Guess what,” Nito howls so loudly that the baby shudders awake, whimpering. “I don’t trust you guys either. You’re both too stupid to do this without me. I’m going to take down that network, and I’m bringing the kid with me.”
And he grabs the kid from your arms to tuck him into his apron pocket. With a theatrical twist of his shoulders, Nito stalks toward the Crest.
“Nito, I don’t know how to get you inside the refinery. Why do you think I’ve been mopping floors for the past two weeks? So that I can walk in through the front gate.”
He doesn’t even bother turning to look at you. “Then get me a transponder.”
“It doesn’t work that way!” You cry desperately after him. “There are checkpoints and scanners everywhere. I'm not wearing this thing as a costume prop!”
This time, he stops to give you an accusatory glare. “So what about Mando, eh? I bet you know how to get him inside.”
“Mando can get himself in, and I don’t think I need to explain how he’ll manage that.”
“Then, Mando can get me in, too. He brought us with him for the job on Coruscant.”
“That guy was a bureaucrat, Nito. TaggeCo has a private army! Why can’t you see that I’m trying to protect you?"
"No one asked you to! I've been taking care of myself for a long time."
And the almost imperceptible crack in Nito's voice as he stifled down a sob breaks what's left of your heart.
"But you shouldn't have to. You’re right! We are stupid. Let us be stupid while you are smart and stay out of danger.”
Nito is indifferent to your tears. “You don’t get to make that decision for me! You can’t do this without us, Thuli. Figure out how to get me into that operations center, or none of this works.”
It’s hard to believe that you started out the day excited.

Update from the Mod: Annual Report of the ABF (Oct2024)
It’s October, so it’s the time of year when we look back and note all that Andrew has been doing over the last twelve months.
It’s fair to say that since update23 Andrew has had a quiet, yet busy year. His personal exploits still feature in certain tabloid newspapers, but the stories appear to be just clickbait.

He was spotted out and about with Amy in April!
At this time last year, we were looking forward to:
Passenger (for Andrew’s screenwriting debut)
Intrigo: Samaria [7 years on, still waiting]
Black Doves (due to air in December 2024)

Passenger launched in March with plenty of publicity, including both Radio Times and BBCBreakfast interviews. Last week it featured at New York Comic Con, which provided us with the photo of the year!

In April we found out about horror movie Apartment 7A (which had actually wrapped in October 2022!). This premiered just last month, with Andrew as casting director, Leo Watts:

Also last month another series of In the Doghouse appeared on Channel 4, with Andrew narrating for the fifth time.
More voicework surfaced just a couple of weeks ago, when Andrew narrated The Great Flood of 1968 for Channel 5
We also found out about another new crime drama: Code of Silence which is currently filming in the Home Counties. Something to look forward to next year!
Meanwhile…..
….. ABF now has an archive of over 5,500 posts, 26 themed pages and 380 followers.
Thank you to all Andrew fans – especially to @madandi @geminigmo and the many other new fans this year.
Best wishes to Andrew and his family for the coming year.
Cheers – demurely1

Guess what? I'm writing a novel series!
꧁༒☬"𝕬 𝖑𝖎𝖊 𝖙𝖔𝖑𝖉 𝖔𝖋𝖙𝖊𝖓 𝖊𝖓𝖔𝖚𝖌𝖍 𝖇𝖊𝖈𝖔𝖒𝖊𝖘 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖙𝖗𝖚𝖙𝖍."
- 𝖁𝖑𝖆𝖉𝖎𝖒𝖎𝖗 𝕷𝖊𝖓𝖎𝖓☬༒꧂
𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒!
First and foremost, I'd like to thank whoever reads this post. Your presence is appreciated.
I'd like to announce that my long-awaited novel, "RED SNOWFALL", will premiere on my official Tumblr account and my own website on MAY 21, 2024!
𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 "𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐒𝐍𝐎𝐖𝐅𝐀𝐋𝐋"!
Red Snowfall will be the installment of a series I'm writing called Siberian Tiger. The Siberian Tiger series will focus on the early years of a group of adult Soviet spies in a world, where the USSR still existed years after an alternate, yet climactic ending of the Cold War. Red Snowfall will focus on the main protagonist, Cillian Osborne, who's accused of being a Soviet spy after the odds were not in his favor. It is an action-packed, psychological spy thriller dealing with allegiances, betrayals, and loads of political drama.
Stay tuned for further updates on both the current installment and the franchise overall, especially for the platforms where I'll cross-post Red Snowfall!
Official Synopsis down below!
"𝐀𝐌𝐁𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐆𝐄 𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐘. 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐈𝐅 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐎𝐖𝐍 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘?"
"Following the disappearance of a British submarine, MI6 agent Cillian Osborne testified to its connection to the rising threat of a terrorist group in the Middle East, whose arsenal posed a threat to the United Kingdom's national security. After Cillian and his team were dispatched to Tehran, Iran to penetrate the terrorist group to retrieve the UK's stolen nuclear launch codes, a series of cyber-attacks has placed the nation in a state of emergency. Thus, the British government was led to believe the world was on the brink of World War III.
When accused of being a mole of MI6 that led to a string of betrayals, Cillian was forced on the run. But for this brave agent whose dependability brought him to thrive and continue hiding from MI6, he later confronts a dark figure from his enigmatic past. His ambition fuels his hate and will stop at nothing to put Cillian down for good. Cillian was thrust into a game of cat and mouse that would bring him back to the dark days of his life when the color he always favored was red."
𝐀𝐃𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒!
It is with the utmost gratitude that a collaboration between me and my best friend, Jammie, is in the works! Go check out her Facebook profile to learn more about her franchise, "Detectives and Deceptions" which is about the protagonist's past years as a junior detective in contemporary London, England.
I am truly grateful to work together with my best friend on this ambitious collaboration, I expect us both to give it our all while doing this. I would like to thank everybody who supported me along the way when they first heard about me writing a novel.
U.M.B.R.A. THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOYALTY.
𝐹𝓇𝑜𝓂 𝒮𝒾𝒷𝑒𝓇𝒾𝒶 𝓌𝒾𝓉𝒽 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒,
𝒫𝑒𝓇𝒸𝒾𝓋𝒶𝓁 𝒪𝓇𝓁𝒶𝓃𝒹𝑜 𝒲𝓎𝓃𝒹𝒽𝒶𝓂

Do not be shy to text in private messaging, I promise I won't mind at all! Well, as long as you're not weird, that's all. I am online for most of the time anyways!

Do Laundromats Take Credit Cards? Here’s What to Know Before You Go
Quick Answer: Yes, many modern laundromats in Australia now accept credit cards, debit cards, and even contactless payments like Apple Pay or Google Pay. However, some older or regional laundromats may still rely on coins or stored-value laundry cards.
There’s nothing more frustrating than arriving at a laundromat with a full basket, only to realise it’s coin-only and the change machine is broken—or worse, it doesn’t exist. If you’ve searched “laundromat near me” and want to know whether you need a pocket full of gold coins or just a tap-and-go card, this guide has you sorted.
Laundromats have come a long way from the clunky, coin-choked machines of yesteryear. But are they all cashless now? Not quite—let’s break it down.
Do All Laundromats Accept Credit Cards?
No, but many do.
Laundromats in Australia are split between:
Coin-only operations (especially in older suburbs or small towns)
Hybrid models with both coin slots and card readers
Cashless laundromats using pay stations, QR codes, or apps
In major cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, most newer laundromats have upgraded to accept card and mobile payments. But if you’re in a regional area or using an older neighbourhood laundromat, be prepared with coins—just in case.
A 2023 IBISWorld report on laundry services in Australia noted a significant shift toward cashless operations post-COVID, with over 60% of new laundromats including contactless systems at launch. (Source)
How Do Card Payments Work at Laundromats?
You won’t swipe your card on the washer itself (usually). Instead, most laundromats use central payment systems—touchscreens or terminals where you select your machine number and tap your card.
Some common systems:
Laundry Pay stations (tap card, enter machine #)
App-based systems (scan QR codes and pay via app)
Prepaid laundry cards (top up using credit card, then swipe)
If the machine has a card reader built in, it's typically very straightforward: tap, wait, and start your cycle.
What About Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Other Tap-and-Go Options?
Yes—many laundromats that accept credit cards also support:
Apple Pay
Google Pay
Samsung Pay
PayPal (via apps)
These options are especially handy if you’re travelling light and left your wallet at home. Just check for signs near the pay terminal—most laundromats will clearly display accepted payment methods.
What If My Local Laundromat Is Still Coin-Only?
If your chosen laundromat is still living in the analogue era, here’s what you can do:
Bring plenty of $1 and $2 coins
Look for a coin machine onsite (they usually only accept notes, not cards)
Ask a nearby shop for change—most are used to being asked
Check Google reviews—locals often mention payment options
Some coin-only laundromats offer top-up cards—stored value cards you load via EFTPOS. Once loaded, you use it like a tap card on each machine.
How Much Does It Cost to Use a Credit Card at a Laundromat?
Most laundromats don’t charge a fee to use a credit card, but the payment processor might. Expect:
Minimum transaction amounts (e.g., $4–$5 per load)
Occasional surcharges (typically 1%–2%)
Flat fees on laundry card top-ups (e.g., $1 load fee)
That said, most Aussies are happy to pay the slight markup in exchange for convenience. After all, scrounging for coins under the couch is no one’s idea of fun.
Real-World Example: A Tap-and-Go Wash Day in Melbourne
Last week I ducked into a laundromat in Fitzroy with two baskets and zero coins. I was ready to beg the coffee shop next door for change—but to my surprise, the laundromat had a touchscreen kiosk. I picked washer #7, tapped my credit card, and got started in 10 seconds.
No app. No signup. No drama. I even paid for the dryer with the same card, all in one go.
It reminded me how much more accessible laundry has become, especially in metro areas. And yet, just two suburbs over, my mate had to use a stack of coins and a handwritten instruction sheet.
FAQ: Laundromat Payment Questions
Q: Do laundromats accept cash? Some do, but it’s becoming less common. Many are moving to card-only to cut down on theft, maintenance, and handling fees.
Q: Can I use international credit cards? Usually yes—especially Visa and Mastercard. But some systems won’t recognise cards that don’t support tap payments or aren’t chip-enabled.
Q: Is my card info safe when using public laundromat kiosks? Yes. Reputable laundromats use encrypted payment terminals, just like retail stores. Just avoid entering personal details into unfamiliar apps or websites on public Wi-Fi.
Final Thought
So, do laundromats take credit cards? Increasingly, yes. Tap-and-go washers, app-powered dryers, and digital kiosks are becoming standard features across city laundromats in Australia. But it’s still wise to check ahead or carry a few coins—just in case your chosen spot is stuck in the analogue age.
And if you're wondering whether you should wait while your clothes are drying or nip off for a flat white, this read offers a thoughtful take: laundromat near me

How Flutter Helps Reduce Development Costs for Startups and SMEs

Money matters. Especially when you are building something new, juggling a tight budget, and still trying to get things out fast, startups and small businesses often live in this zone—where every rupee has a job and every decision matters.
You want your product to look sharp, run smoothly, and hit the market quickly without burning through cash. That is where Flutter app development steps in. It is not just another tech buzzword. It is a real-world solution that saves time, trims costs, and still delivers the kind of mobile app experience users expect today.
The beauty of it? You don't need separate teams, double code, or endless hours of fixes: just one clean codebase, multiple platforms, and a faster way to build digital products that work.
One Codebase, Two Platforms – Save Big, Move Fast
When you are a startup or an SME, building two separate apps—one for iOS and one for Android—can feel like trying to run in two directions at once. You are paying two teams, writing two sets of code, and managing double the bugs. That is a lot. But here is where Flutter app development flips the script. It gives you a single codebase that works beautifully across platforms. Android and iOS? Covered. With the same design consistency, same functionality, and way less drama.
This isn't just about convenience. It is about cutting development costs by almost half. Instead of hiring two teams, managing two timelines, and burning through resources, you get one focused, efficient process. Developers love it. Business owners love it more. And for users? There is no difference. The app feels fast, smooth, and native. That is the kind of win-win small businesses don't get often.
Now, when you cut costs here, you have got more room to think about speed—and that is where things start to pick up.
Faster Go-to-Market Means You Are Spending Less Sooner
Time is expensive. Every delay in launching your app eats into your budget, your runway, and your peace of mind. You are not just paying developers—you are losing time that could be spent testing, selling, and growing. What makes Flutter app development a revolution is how quickly things come together. Thanks to features like hot reload, developers can tweak code and instantly see results. No long compile times. No endless back-and-forth. It is just fast, fluid development.
For businesses working with deadlines and minimal buffers, this speed is gold. You can get an MVP out quickly, gather feedback from real users, and then improve without starting from scratch. And since you are using one codebase, those updates roll out faster, too. You are not managing separate platforms or waiting on two different dev teams to sync. It all happens in one place, in one flow.
That flow carries over into maintenance, too—and that is another place where savings add up.
Maintenance Does Not Have to Cost You a Fortune
Building the app is only half the story. The real test starts after the launch. That is when you begin discovering bugs, adding features, and responding to user feedback. If you are running separate codebases, this becomes a maintenance marathon. Two apps mean two sets of fixes, two deployment cycles, and two times the cost. But with Flutter app development, that pain disappears.
Because the entire app runs on one codebase, your updates are faster, simpler, and cheaper. You don't have to rewrite logic or sync changes across platforms. A single update fixes things everywhere. That means less downtime, fewer bugs slipping through the cracks, and happier users. And let us be real—less developer time = less money spent.
The savings from maintenance alone can make a huge difference, especially for companies that plan to grow or scale. And if you are thinking of expanding, design is going to be your next big concern. It's a good thing Flutter's already one step ahead.
Clean Design Without the Designer Price Tag
A good-looking app can set you apart. But hiring UI/UX designers, customizing every screen, and building responsive layouts for every device can rack up costs fast. One of the best things about Flutter app development is how rich and ready its design system already is. With a library of pre-built widgets that feel modern, polished, and flexible, you don't need to start from scratch—or overspend.
Whether you are building a booking app, a store, or a dashboard, Flutter helps create beautiful interfaces that adapt to screen sizes without breaking. And for small teams or solo founders, that is a lifesaver. You don't need to spend months on wireframes or worry about how your app looks on tablets vs. phones. It just works.
And since it's all under one roof (code + design), changes happen fast, saving you even more time and cost as you evolve your product.
That brings us to another underrated win—no licensing stress or extra fees hanging over your head.
Zero Licensing Headaches, 100% Freedom
When you are on a tight budget, every hidden cost stings. Some frameworks come with licensing fees, premium features, or unexpected tool upgrades that slowly eat into your budget. That is not the case with Flutter app development. It is free. Completely.
Backed by Google and open-source, Flutter gives you complete control without extra fees or limitations.
This kind of Freedom is crucial for small businesses and bootstrapped startups. You are already making decisions about servers, integrations, APIs, and marketing tools. Having one part of the puzzle that does not come with a price tag? That is rare—and it adds up over time.
Plus, you are working with a tech stack that is continuously improving, supported by a massive global community. That means more resources, tutorials, updates, and developers available whenever you need help. It's cost-saving, future-ready, and beginner-friendly all in one.
And if you think that is all too good to be true—don't worry, it is not. It just happens to be an excellent match for the people who need smart solutions the most.
Built for Startups. Friendly for SMEs. Trusted by Both.
Startups move fast and break things. SMEs move carefully and count every penny. Flutter app development works perfectly for both. Whether you are building a client-facing app, an internal dashboard, or a service tool for your team, Flutter scales with your needs.
It's lightweight enough for MVPs and stable and sufficient for enterprise-level projects. And since you are already cutting down on time, cost, and team size, it frees up your budget for things like marketing, sales, and customer support—the fundamental growth drivers.
If you are someone who wants to build once and grow steadily—this is the kind of tech that helps you breathe easier. You don't need to choose between quality and affordability anymore. You can have both.
And in a world where competition is fierce, moving smart is just as crucial as moving fast.
Wrapping Up!
Flutter app development isn't just another line item on your tech stack.
It is a real solution to a very real problem—building solid mobile apps without blowing your budget. It saves you time. It cuts your costs. And it simplifies your journey from idea to launch (and beyond).
Startups, small teams, and first-time founders—if you have a big vision but a limited budget, Flutter might be your most brilliant move yet.

Voucher Booklet and Poker Card Printing That Brings Ideas to Life Fast
In Singapore, where everything is fast-paced—from MRT transfers to lunchtime deals—print solutions have to keep up. Whether it’s for promotions, campaigns, or giveaways, having materials that speak to locals in a language they feel shiok about is key. Print work that’s quick, punchy, and practical connects brands to customers in a real way. From Singlish slogans to bold designs, what gets printed should feel like part of the Singapore heartbeat, not just another thing on paper.
Vouchers That Drive Results Without the Drama
Reward systems don’t need to be complicated—sometimes all it takes is a neat stack of vouchers sealed into a sleek booklet. Voucher booklet printing Singapore makes it easier for businesses to manage promotions, offer limited-time deals, and track redemptions with zero fuss. Whether used for food promos, loyalty programmes, or bundle offers, these booklets are fuss-free and ready for action. Designed with perforations and numbering options, they’re more than paper—they’re tools for building consistent footfall and easy customer interaction, especially for retail or F&B setups that run on efficiency.
Poker Cards with Personality and Purpose
Forget basic giveaways—poker cards are making a comeback, and not just for game night. Custom playing card printing Singapore lets businesses design poker-style decks that double as marketing tools. From corporate branding to event swag, these cards are printed with quality finishes and custom designs that reflect the brand’s tone. Whether handed out at expos or included in merchandise bundles, poker cards create moments of surprise and interaction. Perfect for youth campaigns, creative brands, or limited-edition collections, these decks carry personality in every shuffle and cut.
Making Your Brand Part of the Game
Games build connection, and nothing draws a crowd like a quick round of poker with a twist. Businesses are now turning to custom playing card printing Singapore for cards that feature logos, QR codes, local references, and even campaign messaging. By fusing fun with functionality, printed decks become part of customer experiences. They don’t just sit in drawers—they're played, shared, and remembered. Whether used for lucky draws, team-building kits, or festive giveaways, custom poker cards deliver branding that moves. And in a fast-moving market, that level of impact is gold.
Printing That’s Fast, Clear, and Built for the Daily Grind
In Singapore, time is currency, and when materials are needed, it’s often last-minute. That’s why print jobs like custom playing card printing Singapore need to be done with clear specs and quick turnarounds. Whether prepping for weekend events or internal milestones, businesses can’t afford to wait. Local printers that offer ready stock, easy templates, and real-time updates make the process smoother. No guesswork, no extra fluff—just practical solutions tailored to real-world demands, delivered in record time so businesses stay ready for anything that pops up.
Conclusion
Printed materials don’t just serve marketing—they shape how a business shows up. Voucher booklets that help customers save and poker cards that spark conversations are just two examples of functional creativity in print. In Singapore, where speed and clarity matter, practical print services help companies launch fast and stay relevant. Whether it’s for outreach, loyalty campaigns, or giveaways, the ability to print locally with minimal delay is crucial. Platforms like hosehboh.sg streamline the process with straightforward ordering and quirky design options, giving brands the tools to connect, impress, and stay one step ahead.

Udne Ki Aasha 4th April 2025 Written Update: Shocker for Renu

Udne Ki Aasha 4th April 2025 Written Update: Shocker for Renu. Today in Udne Ki Aasha written update, the episode kicks off with Pari locking her room like she’s hiding the launch codes to a space mission. Meanwhile, Sayali, Tejas, and Riya are crammed under her bed like discount spies in a low-budget thriller. Outside, Sachin and Roshni are channeling their inner Sherlocks, trying to figure out what top-secret nonsense Pari is up to. Suddenly, the door flings open and Pari, with the energy of a bouncer at a shady nightclub, orders them to back off. Everyone’s sus level shoots through the roof, especially Sachin, who decides it’s time to expose her like a magician revealing how the trick’s done. Cut to the kitchen, where Pari pulls the oldest soap opera stunt—she fake-slips into Paresh’s arms. And of course, Paresh catches her like a bollywood hero minus the background score. She latches on like she’s starring in a slow-mo romantic montage. And just when they’re lost in their totally-not-suspicious hand-holding, Sachin and Sayali barge in, catching them mid-cringe. Talk about poor timing—or perfect timing, depending on whose side you're on. Elsewhere, Renuka, bless her misguided heart, tries to win some brownie points by preparing a sweet little dinner. But when she walks in, she finds out Pari already stole the spotlight and the kitchen. Not only has Pari cooked up a pasta storm, she’s somehow convinced the whole family that she’s the next MasterChef, Miss Universe, and Supermom rolled into one. The family, clearly hypnotized, showers her with compliments, while poor Renuka is left looking like Windows 95 in a MacBook world. They call her outdated and self-obsessed, which—ouch. Humiliated, Renuka storms into the living room like a storm with mascara. She accuses Pari of being an attention vampire, feeding off everyone’s praise and trying to steal her thunder. Pari, with her ever-innocent act, claims she just wants to spread joy. Renuka, not having any of it, throws shade harder than a tree in summer—reminding Pari she already lost her own family and better keep her claws off this one. But karma's got jokes—everyone sides with Pari and dramatically exits the room, leaving Renuka alone in a swirl of rejection and retro resentment. Later, Paresh visits Pari to comfort her. He offers a half-hearted apology on Renuka’s behalf and basically spills his sad diary—how he’s thought of leaving Renuka but never had the guts. Now, with Renuka apparently impossible to live with (news flash: he’s not exactly Mr. Charisma either), he wants Pari’s support. Pari, flattered by this soap-level confession, says she likes his simplicity. Translation: “You’re dull, but you’re mine.” As if this mid-life crisis wasn’t dramatic enough, Paresh confesses he has feelings for Pari. Because, of course he does. Pari, not to be outdone, drops her emotional monologue about how lonely she feels—even when surrounded by people. Honestly, a full-time drama queen with part-time investor ambitions. She tells him to go for the divorce and promises to help him not leave empty-handed. Ah yes, modern romance: now with asset management. The real plot twist drops when Paresh asks Renuka to sign a bond giving Pari control over family assets—as an investor, no less. Investor?! More like emotional shareholder with bonus manipulation points. Renuka is shell-shocked, rightfully so. Sayali points out the obvious: you don’t just hand over your house like it’s a birthday gift. But Tejas and Sachin pressure their mother into signing. Renuka, tired and defeated, signs the papers. One signature. Decades of dignity—poof. Now that the bag’s secured, Pari begins packing like she’s off to build her dream bungalow. Sachin and Sayali confront her, asking why she’s leaving. She gives a teary-eyed confession: she loves Paresh and wants to avoid more drama. Drama? Sis, you are the drama. Then comes the curveball—Sachin pretends to accept Pari as his second mom. The sarcasm is thick enough to cut with a knife, but Pari, confused and touched, doesn’t know if she should cry or call a timeout. Later, in front of everyone, Pari drops the ultimate bomb—she’s madly in love with Paresh. Paresh, having his main character moment, announces he’s ready to give up everything to start fresh with her. Renuka is destroyed. And worse? Not a single person stands beside her. Her sons act like they’re ready to trade her in for a newer emotional model. Even though they’re pretending (allegedly), Renuka is left hollow, betrayed by the people she held closest. And just when you think it can’t get messier, Renuka learns that Paresh has handed power of attorney to Pari. Yes, the same Pari who came in with a suitcase and now owns her house. Partly this is because the Pact aren't relevant to the COMMANDER anymore (they will be. Always. In my heart) but like. Why couldn't we keep hearing rumors about how successful the Pact is being? I get they're recovering after Maguuma, and maybe can't attack another dragon so soon, but why don't we hear rumors?
About rehabilitation efforts for refugees? For recovering sylvari? Humanitarian efforts? The Vigil especially were into that, pre-Pact. Making new inventions commercially-available? The new school textbooks being printed with whole chapters on the Pact and the dragons? (Instead we got Joko's lying propaganda.) Why not, instead of giving Taimi all the dragon infos and coming off as a deus ex machina, she's collaborating with the Priory? Standing on the shoulders of giants? Involving the entire scholarly organization dedicated to studying dragons, without having to put them on-screen! Instead we got Phlunt drama? Taimi's friend who died in the Ring of Fire Islands who we never even meet?
HAVE TAIMI COLLABORATE WITH WYNNET OR OGDEN OR A BRAND SPANKING NEW PRIORY CHARACTER! Straight-up GIXX why don't you?? Gixx would LOVE to swoop in and mentor the next up-and-coming dragon expert prodigy (unofficially ofc, so Phlunt doesn't get mad, but there's No Way that Phlunt can refuse to let them collab). And there wouldn't have to be ANY MORE WORK from Anet to do it like this, just downplay Phlunt's obnoxious presence, ooohh let Gixx help fight when Balthazar first reveals himself, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO EPIC?!?!?! Instead of Phlunt's idiotic "phlunt still phights! Hehe, you can't aurally hear what I did there, but it's VERY CLEVER" shut up Phlunt. Where's Gixx. Where's my Priory leader rep. Almorra's around?? What about Gixx??
Why weren't the Order of Whispers involved in the LITERAL MURSAAT LORE SEASON?!?!? Why weren't there multiple Whispers agents "pssst!"ing the Commander in Bloodstone Fen just, over and over and over until Comm is like WHERE ARE YOU ALL COMING FROM and they're like. Oh we've been here for years. Special orders from the Preceptors (cough cough, Riel, and its revealed she has HistoryTM with the White Mantle). Like, that could be a literal throwaway, unvoiced dialogue line but NO. We go talk to a random dude from a raid? Whom I've never met before and was SO confused who he was? Ugh.
And later! Why weren't the Order and the Shining Blade working together? THE MASTER OF WHISPERS IS A HUMAN FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. THE SHINING BLADE SHOULD HAVE REACHED OUT TO HER LONG AGO! SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXCITED TO HAVE THEM COLLABORATE!
And! That! Would! Give! An! ACTUALLY! Credible! Reason! For! Nonhuman! Commanders! To! Join! The! Shining! Blade!
Why didn't Braham casually mention that a lot of his new Destiny's Edge guild are Pact members? Vigil norn who are TOTALLY PUMPED to fight Jormag!! Which would ALSO! LEND! SOME! CREDENCE! TO! BRAHAM'S! OVERCONFIDENCE! Like he thinks he knows what's going on bc he's hanging out with Real Pact Folks who Definitely Know What's Going On (and are maybe even right smh), MAYBE EVEN SOME WHO WERE SPECIFICALLY IN THE MAGUUMA CRASH! TO ADD A REAL PUNCH AND MOTOVATION TO BRAHAM'S ACCUSATIONS AT THE COMMANDER?
When we get to Siren's Landing, why not explicitly talk about the Pact presence in the area? No? Instead it's just random sylvari who want to honor Trahearne WHERE ARE THE PACT THAT WANT TO HONOR HIM? (Maybe I'm recalling poorly, I think there were lots of Priory around, but STILL.)
And that's just S3! Sure we were in Elona for PoF and the Pact hadn't caught up yet, but come ON! Why aren't we hearing about them helping refugees? Whispers agents and Shadows agents catching sight of each other and going 👀 at each other and then immediately launching into some kind of shared coded communication, a la Thieves Cant, with dialectical differences? Commander passes by in PoF prologue, and off in the corner there's a Whispers agents and an Elonian refugee aggressively whispering together in a corner, the Whispers agent catches up later like "yo Commander, heads up, XYZ extra infos, also look up ABC person ;) ) and then Comm forgets about it until Kito shows up and it's like! Wait a min! Know you! I've got a message from so-and-so in the Order of Whispers that was passed down from X, Y, and Z people, idk what it is but here! And Kito goes "ooohhhhhhhhh I see!" And doesn't elaborate.
IT DOESNT HAVE TO MEAN ANYTHING, IT COULD BE AN INVITATION TO DINNER FOR ALL I CARE, IT CAN JUST LITERALLY BE A REMINDER THAT THE PACT IS ALIVE AND ACTIVE AND DOING THINGS BEHIND THE SCENES UGHHH!
In S4? In IBS? Taimi's researching with the Priory still! The PACT CAN STILL MAKE MEANINGFUL CONTRIBUTIONS BEHIND THE SCENES!!
But no! Apparently they don't like that anymore! It's like oh. So yell were just sorta humoring Trahearne and I? and have learned NOTHING from how working together helped us fight Zhaitan?? How the lack of working together was disastrous in Maguuma? Surely you see that?? Hm??
Anyway yeah. Headcanons time ig.
Still pissed the Pact stopped being relevant right after the base game 💀

Behind the Scenes of The Shakespeare Code (Part 7)
Excerpt from CultBox interview with Dean Lennox Kelly - by Cameron K McEwan - 24 April 2013
We caught up with Doctor Who's William Shakespeare, actor Dean Lennox Kelly, yesterday at the launch of new BBC One drama Frankie in London. Discussing his 2007 episode of Doctor Who, 'The Shakespeare Code', Kelly told CultBox "It was amazing. Amazing. A lot of fun to work on - especially on The Globe stage. But I think I could have done a better job with that. I look back on it and I think, I could have done something a bit more." He recalled, "It's quite intimidating, acting with David Tennant... especially [with] his energy as The Doctor. Really, he's like a train. He just absolutely drives it. You really just have to keep up with him. When someone is [so] absolutely confident in himself and his choices and what he's doing - it's hard. Slightly intimidating. But fun, he's a lovely fella." Many commented on his portrayal of the Bard in Gareth Roberts' story, comparing him to a rock star, the former Shameless star told us. "The director would say to me, 'Think Liam Gallagher with the mind of a genius!' Woah! What a direction that is! He was a celebrity rock star, wasn't he? I wasn't doing a biog, was I? [laughs]" Looking back on his short involvement in the show, Dean was enthusiastic and appreciative of the attention he received (and still does). When news of his casting broke, fans were quick to contact him, he revealed. "Doctor Who is extraordinary. Even when I got cast, I started getting fan mail. I hadn't even done it yet, I was getting fan mail. You know, I nearly had a little figurine made. That close but it just didn't happen. Would have been amazing, a little figurine!"

okayyy i been needing to write a longform post for a while! just to chronicle some thoughts in a cohesive way. & getting straight to the point: i'm realizing there is very little, if ANY payoff, to being an artist online. i'm not talking about money. im talking about the way it's like, the more ppl start to see you as an "artist", the more they feel like ur some kind of public figure they can lash out at w no repercussions. ur humanity is just wiped from their minds. i don't have some huge following by any means but for ME its gotten big since in the past i've been a serial deleter. usually at 800 followers im gone.
i love being creative & sharing for the sake of sharing but i deeply fear any kind of spotlight. since i came back onto tumblr i made the pledge to myself not to delete my account if it started growing but now im having second thoughts!! well i'll never delete this account cus im too sentimental but part of me just wants to stop posting in the ways i tend to do. like maube im too forthcoming & need to slink back into the shadows a bit. because i don't want to stop contributing art & music to the world but idk how to protect my heart.
like it's so crazy to me that artists are expected to b these idealistic icons of everything the viewer represents & if they make a single mistake its like fuck we better launch a pUBLIC HARASSMENT CAMPAIGN!! genuinely like, how are people supposed to want to put themselves out there when the climate is so hostile? it has got me feelin rly nihilistic i must admit. trying to put nice stuff into the world shld not be generating drama for me, especially when it's just my hobby & not even my "career".
for a while ive had no idea what to do for work or how to generate income in a way that works for me but honestly? im gonna bite the bullet & do some coding bootcamps so i can try n get a remote job doing some tech shit & making a fat salary. i guess i never rly considerd it before cus all the silicon valley stuff susses me out but idk. im naturally really good at code + my only real dream in life is to be able to support others & redistribute wealth. like ive never had anything of my own to share but if i could actually do this & become the secure+charitable person i wish to be, i think i cld finally have some inner peace/sense of fulfillment. plus i cld still be a recluse ^_^
ok well i guess that my diary entry for now. im rly grateful to everyone on this site who is genuine & respectful towards me. i am really enjoying all my creative projects right now & i just dont want it to ever stop being fun just because the internet doesnt want it to be fun for me. i seriously wonder why artists are the number one targets right now, i mean not to get too conspiratorial but like, this is exactly what the CIA wants :/ wahtever....i have no agenda other than plur. but yeah, i might just start to distance myself more from posting anything other than my work. we'll see. just kno that i dnt want it to b this way. ilu guys
