Character Ask Game question 4: If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

I think a book about Young Xehanort would be AMAZING. Specifically a Dark Road novelization, maybe even stretching into the time before and after his mark of mastery exam? I think it'd really give his character a lot of space to breathe and grow, sort of untethered from the negative perception of him that comes with the games. It'd be a great way to get inside his head and really expand on his experiences, especially since Dark Road suffered so heavily from cuts. We know where he starts and how he ends up, and I'd love to dissect more thoroughly how he got from point A to point B!

for the WIP game: the lingering will one?👀

Hi Espurr!!!!!! I'd love to talk about it :3

It's actually currently more a stream of consciousness outline than any writing and I'm pretty sure it originated in a discord dms ramble. the joys of Hyperfixating on one specific character <3

The most important part of it is like. the Lingering Will has a heart. this is something I've headcanoned for a long time, I've thought about making a presentation about it, i could ramble about it at length. The Lingering Will is a more distinct person to me than to most people. That's important context for this whole au, but I can go over all my thoughts there in a different post!

So LW has a heart, albeit a bit small and young, but plenty strong. Its dedication to Aqua and Ventus have given it powerful connections that sustain it, and when Namine popped in that little connection helped too! So when its body is destroyed, where does its heart go? the most obvious place- Terra's heart.

The gist of the story is Terra finding that out and having to really come to terms with the way he was split apart and the ramifications, as well as the experience of the Lingering Will figuring out personhood. I want to play with that relationship between Terra and something that was once part of him. How the LW differs from him and what they have in common. What does the LW want from personhood? What does identity mean to it?

It's kind of like a Sora and Roxas situation- two separate people existing at the same time, one of whom came from a part of the other. Only a little to the left, because LW isn't a nobody, but close enough. I actually want to have a scene where Terra and Roxas talk about Roxas' experience with coming from Sora and what it's been like to carve out his own identity separate from that.

I have another ask about this in my inbox so i think i'll cut this short here and go on a little more there :3 I'd love to actually start writing it sometime but i already have too many other projects at the moment.

12 Days of Fic Recs - Day 3

It is always exciting to get more fics about the Union Leaders, and even more exciting to get stories focusing on what their relationships might be like after everything that happened in UX. new normal by espurr_roba (@espurr-roba) is a fantastic look at that for two characters in particular--Brain, who has been transported to the present as a teenager, and Skuld, who has over a decade of lived experience on him, and all the trauma of being Subject X to deal with. Both of them are characterized perfectly--the brief bits of banter, the palpable sort of grief, and the fact that they still care about each other a lot, even if it's difficult to bridge that distance. Brain's predicament in particular is really fascinating, since he not only has to figure out how to reconnect with people he knew once and now doesn't, but is struggling with the fact that he can't summon a Keyblade at all. I absolutely love it as a character piece, and as someone who loves these characters' relationship, I can't recommend it enough.

Basically I love The Fox and the Bird (the song specifically, but the entire album is awesome, go check it out) and I think it’s really fitting for Ava and Eph so I wanted to make some sort of art piece for it. I don’t have a solid composition for it yet so it’s a thing I kinda just go back to working on whenever I feel like it
