Carreira

Em 2000, ele interpretou o protagonista do filme Premonição (Final Destination nos EUA), interpretando o adolescente Alex Browning que teve uma premonição que o avião em que estava, iria ter problemas durante o vôo e ocasionar na explosão do mesmo, e avisou a todos, mas poucos de seus amigos ouviram o aviso e se retiraram do avião. Os sobreviventes foram morrendo um a um em acidentes ocasionais. O filme foi até o nº 5, ou seja, teve mais 4 continuações, no qual existiu a necessidade de troca de equipes de atores e os protagonistas. Também se destacou no papel de Stan num clipe do cantor Eminem. A cantora Dido, interpretou a namorada de Stan no clipe. Sawa continuou a trabalhar de forma constante em filmes independentes nos últimos anos, incluindo Extreme Dating, Shooting Gallery, Devil's Den, Creature of Darkness e Endure.

Em 2010, ele esteve na série de televisão Nikita. É, em 2011, ele esteve no filme de terror 388 Arletta Avenue.

Atomic Liquors opened April 17, 1954

Before Atomic Liquors, Waleryia Virginia Zasucha (Barrett) inherited property on 900-block Fremont St in the 1930s from Las Vegas pioneer Richard Busteed. She ran a rooming house in the 30s. Together with her husband Jack Barrett, her daughter Stella, and Stella’s husband Joe Sobchik, they opened Virginia’s Cafe here in 1945. Jack Barrett operated a service station next door. Virginia Barrett was the sole licensee of Virginia’s Cafe - liquor and 2 slot machines - until 1954 when it was replaced by Atomic Liquor Store.

Atomic Liquor Store was an entirely new structure in 1954, built, owned, and operated by the Barretts and Sobchiks.

There are several sources for the 1954 date. Clark County assessor’s record for the building is 1954. Virginia and Jack Barrett were approved for a liquor license at Atomic Liquor Store by the city commission on 1/20/1954. Their grand opening was held Saturday, April 17, 1954, and news on that day detailed the new building. Articles written in the 80s and 90s quote Joe Sobchik saying he opened the bar in 1954.

Atomic stayed in business, continuously operated by the Sobchiks through 2010. In the early 2000s the bar was overrun by drug dealers and the Sobchiks worked with police, installing a security buzzer and closing at 10PM. The bar closed after Joe’s death in 2010. Stella died in 2011. The Atomic reopened under new ownership in 2013.

You are Spring.’ This poem articulates my belief that grief isn’t a dead thing; it’s very much alive and continues to shape how I grow and live in this world. MATTHIAS BECKMANN, SINEU , A SERIES OF WATERCOLOUR DRAWINGS; LICHTENBERG STUDIOS EXCHANGE 2025

In May 2025, Berlin based artist Matthias Beckmann is our guest at the Espai Sant Marc Atelier. Matthias Beckmann is a draughtsman. The artist is here through a collaboration with the Lichtenberg Studios, an artist residency programme founded and run by Uwe Jonas in Berlin’s district Lichtenberg. Matthias Beckmann is well known for his linear graphite drawings. Since his stay in India as a guest of the Goethe-Institut Bangalore in 2022, he has also been creating watercolour drawings. He works in front of the motif, without preparatory sketches, without photographic aids and without corrections. His series of drawings deal with places and institutions: The German parliament Deutscher Bundestag in Berlin, chambers of art and curiosities in Germany and Austria, a southern German car factory, an emergency shelter for refugees, the Romanesque churches in Cologne, the big hospital Charité in Berlin, the streets of Bangalore, etc. He repeatedly draws in museums. From 2010 to 2012, he created a series about 88 Berlin artists’ studios. Matthias Beckmann spends a whole month in Sineu – with a painter’s stool, pencil, brush and water colour. He draws the town, the buildings, the weekly market, the Fira de Sineu, which takes place every year on the first weekend in May, the people, the cyclists taking a break in the café, the alleyways, the road signs, the cars, the shops, the structure of the town, everyday life. He observes and tries to avoid any judgement. He is attentive and walks around until he discovers a motif or a perspective that interests him. He does not invent anything, but the colour sets accents. The series of drawings allows us to rediscover the seemingly familiar place. Matthias Beckmann chooses unusual perspectives and draws our attention to details that we tend to overlook. A selection of drawings will be published in an edition of signed and limited prints, which can be purchased at Espai Sant Marc.

Bienvenidos a Psicología de Alta Consciencia

Mi nombre es Juan Manuel, creador y administrador de este blog, soy Psicólogo Clínico y me dedico a la consulta privada. La primera publicación que realicé en este espacio con fines didácticos en Psicología fue el 9 de marzo del 2014 con una breve frase de mi propio cuño:

“El cuerpo es la prueba viviente de que la mente influye sobre la materia”.

Dando inicio así a esta etapa de publicaciones en psicología y filosofía con vertiente en el Budismo y en el Advaita Vedanta, así que este blog surgió con un corte espiritual, mas no religioso.

Como dato curioso, en principio este blog no lo abrí con fines psicológicos ni filosóficos como actualmente es, sino que en el año 2010, cuando decidí crear un blog en esta plataforma, lo hice con la idea de publicar fotografías de estílo gótico y con el nombre de "Dark Gothic Wave", y no nació como Psicología de Alta Consciencia.

En ese entonces me encontraba estudiando el 5° semestre de la maestría en Filosofía, la cual fue muy demandante, así que abandoné este blog durante un par de años. En esta fecha aún yo no tenía ninguna relación con temas espirituales ni orientales, incluso estaba por completo enfocado en los rigurosos lineamientos de investigación y práctica psicológica, muy lejos de asuntos espirituales.

Posteriormente en el año 2012 tuve el tan llamado "despertar de consciencia", justo en la fiesta de cumpleaños de mi hermana que ese día cumplía años. ¿Un despertar de consciencia en una fiesta de cumpleaños? Bueno, el despertar es cuando es.

A partir de ahí, más por curiosidad que por ser alguien espiritual, comencé a investigar más acerca de este ámbito, encontrando mucha información, libros y maestros, y acercándome a algunos de ellos que aún estań en vida, como por ejemplo mi Maestra Eva que tuve en mis inicios con el Advaita Vedanta (no-dualidad), con la cual aprendí muchísimo en esos años por el 2014 y 2015.

Sucesivamente seguí aprendiendo y desaprendiendo por mi cuenta en mi propio recorrido, actividad que aún realizo, un recorrido que nunca termina. Como dijera Gautama Buda: "Cuando llegues a la cima de la montaña sigue escalando".

Ya en este punto, decidí borrar todas las publicaciones de estilo dark y gótico que tenía en este blog, quedando completamente limpio, le cambié el nombre al actual Psicología de Alta Consciencia, y como nadie me seguía decidí usarlo de blog de notas personal, donde escribía notas de mis propias ideas y pensamientos acerca de Budismo, Taoísmo, Advaita, etc., con la finalidad de tenerlas disponibles para mí cuando yo quisiera. Mi sorpresa fue que mucha gente empezó a seguir mi blog, fue entonces que me surgió la idea de continuar publicando pero ya no nada más para mí sino también para toda aquella persona que le interesara. Así nació este espacio, aunque el concepto "Psicología de Alta Consciencia" lo acuñé desde el 2012, cuando abrí mi sitio web. Pasé de tener 0 seguidores a un tanto más de 49,000 hasta hoy junio de 2024.

Gracias a todos, y este blog seguirá hasta donde tenga qué llegar, después de ello quedará para la posteridad mientras siga existiendo Tumblr y el internet.

Le Non_Jazz est ravi de pouvoir à nouveau accueillir une rencontre entre ces quatre instrumentistes exceptionnels qui  perpétuent leur bout de chemin ensemble dans une osmose fascinante.

Formé en 1999 par Antoine Letellier (guitares, instruments à vent) & Nicolas Moulin (guitare, électroniques), LENA CIRCUS publie neuf EPs à un rythme mensuel, sur divers labels indépendants), et devient un trio en 2003 avec l'arrivée de Guillaume Arbonville (percussions). Ils enregistrent avec cette formule désormais définitive ( ? ) plusieurs albums, faisant évoluer leur musique au gré des rencontres et de collaborations : dans des spectacles de danse butô, ciné-concerts, travaillant avec des vidéastes... etc. Avec une communication quasi-télépathique entre les musiciens, dans une alchimie du son toujours tendue et riche en nuances et textures, leurs performances et enregistrements ont pu susciter des comparaisons avec les expérimentations de Sun Ra ou Taj Mahal Travellers. Parmi leurs acolytes de prédilection et de longue date  HIROKO KOMIYA  occupe une place de choix, ayant enregistré avec le trio deux albums :  "Toki No Arika" en 2008  "5 degrees of frost" publié en 2012.   NB aka breaking news : deux nouveaux albums, " Refraction "  et " Declination " enregistrés fin janvier 2023 - et formant ainsi une sorte de diptyque - sont publiés  simultanément et seront sans doute disponibles le soir du concert...

I’m not disputing that that happened, I am saying that that is not where the term “started”. It started in 2012, inspired by the actuallyautistic tag, as a method to avoid spam in the main tag. At that point it had no exclusionary connotation. Using actually- tags was a trend on tumblr in the early-mid 2010s so that members of marginalized communities could make sure their voices were heard. This use went out of fashion after that era of spam dried up, so it’s understandable that you wouldn’t know about it, and that you would overestimate your knowledge of history and make such a confident but incorrect statement as you did about the term’s true origin.

I know that emotionally it can be really difficult to deal with a message online correcting a statement you’ve made. It can feel like I’m telling you you’re wrong and you should feel bad for it, so I want to make it clear that this is not anon hate, just somebody who cares about aspec community memory. Nobody is right all the time! I’ve been confidently incorrect plenty of times in my life so I understand how the embarrassment can feel like a slap in the face. That’s ok, and those feelings aren’t always an indication that you’re being put down or judged. It’s necessary that we as people can hold discussions where we’re trying to figure out what’s correct collaboratively and not argumentatively, and that means recognizing when the people you’re speaking with are well-intentioned and responding in kind.

Anyway, yeah, I remember being younger and I remember how mortified I would have felt to read the message I sent, so no judgement at all. Yeah i think this was mostly a misunderstanding on both sides and we were both wrong, however I will say in your OG ask you stated the tag started in 2022. But the reason you gave was the same.

I don't know how active you were on the "actually asexual" tag back in the day, but people were still not being the greatest over the split attraction model. It wasn't suddenly a safe haven for all asexuals (just like the current ace tags).

Yeah I know actually. I've been here since around 2016/17 and I do deep dives into tumblr and older posts a lot in my free time. I'm not new here actually and to give a rough est. of my age, I was never under the age of 13 on the site. You are right here, and I agree. But the way you originally phrased your "correction" was not only incorrect, but spiteful and hateful. It might not of read so to you but saying shit like "clearly you don't care about" and "you're to young to understand" isn't constructive criticism, its in-fact quite annoying and patronising. Statements like that are meant to enrage people, which is why I did not respond to you OG asks as I don't want to spiral a small matter. I would also like to say you final statements, while correct, are also quite sarcastically sweet to almost (very) patronising. Please do not talk to me like you would a small child.

Lo pregunto porque el desarrollo de esta OC siempre me ha llamado la atención, en la superficie parece solo un OC bien documentado pero ya viendo las publicaciones más viejas me entero que es un proyecto que ya desde 2012 tenia forma. Venga que yo en 2012 apenas tenía 5, vagamente desarrollando mi percepción de la realidad mientras Agustina ya existía xd

¡Tina existe desde el 2010! Cuando yo tenía 13 años. Conocí Hetalia gracias al mundial de Sudáfrica, cuando empecé a buscar cosas sobre la selección argentina en deviantART y empecé a encontrar dibujos sobre países humanizados. Luego comprendí que se trataba de un anime, intenté empezar a ver los primeros capítulos y... no entendía nada jaja. No entendía el humor, y perdí el interés tan pronto como vi que no iba a aparecer Argentina, así que por varios meses sólo seguí a los artistas y grupos que tenían ocs latinos y consumía su contenido de forma pasiva. Luego un poco más a fin de año me empecé a interesar por la ship que hoy en día sigue siendo mi otp gracias a una artista que la mencionó (ella era una de las pocas que tenía un oc de Argentina mujer en ese entonces) y fue tal el hiperfix que me agarré que cuando ya no había nada más para ver de ellos en deviantART, me di cuenta que yo iba a tener que crear lo que quería ver, y así nació Tina, y así estamos 🤣

No conservo los primeros dibujos que hice de ella en ese tiempo porque siempre dibujaba detrás de mis apuntes del colegio y fotocopias, creo que este es el único dibujo de 2010 que sobrevivió:

Y luego tengo algunos dibujos de enero de 2011 cuando hice su primer "diseño oficial", para ese entonces ya estaba 100% obsesionada con Hetalia:

Nótese que siempre estaba acompañada de una vaquita de peluche con vida propia que se llamaba Marta, era como una especie de Hello Kitty vaquita inspirada del muñeco que China siempre llevaba, o el oso que siempre acompañaba a Canadá. Infaltable el rulito de Romano porque ¿es un oc de Argentina si no tiene un rulo como el de los Italia?

Al cabo de unos meses (marzo-abril del 2011) empecé a sentir la necesidad de que Tina tenga a sus vecinos para interactuar, así que aquí están algunos diseños beta de mis ocs, las Islas Malvinas iban a ser originalmente dos niñas, pero pronto descarté ese concepto.

También intenté diseñar un oc de Chile y para ese entonces ya pensaba hacer un oc de Buenos Aires que acompañara a Tina, pero los dejé de lado. Tuvieron que pasar muchos años para que diseñara mis ocs de Chile y Paraguay, los creé en 2019. Más tarde ese mismo año diseñé a mis ocs de las provincias de la región de Cuyo; al año siguiente, apareció Juanma, mi oc de Buenos Aires!

Eurovision 2008 - Number 2 - Laka - "Pokušaj"

My beloved Pokušaj is at number two. This is the song that truly got me back into Eurovision in a big way back in 2008. Its whimsy and sense of joy stood out in a year filled with other, coarser jokes. And it's a song of consequence: It's one of the two songs that Terry Wogan stated were terrible before he stepped back as commentator for the BBC.

Let's rewind a little. Laka is the nom de plume of Elvir Laković, a guitarist and folk/rock singer who'd started out singing in café after serving in the Bosnian army during the wars of the 1990s, but had managed to get big enough to win the 2003 prize for best Bosnian rock song named for former Eurovision star Davorin Popović who had died in 2001. Within Bosnia his idiosyncratic songs and style had won him a huge number of fans locally as well as beginning to break through in Croatia.

For a couple of years, he moved to New York to try to make it in the USA, but like his debut song, he returned home Malo sam se razočar'o (A Little Disappointed). However this disappointment turned into the boost his career needed. His first full album was released in Bosnia in 2007 and in 2008 he submitted Pokušaj (Try) to the Bosnian broadcaster BHRT for Eurovision. He became the internally selected singer and recruited his sister Mirela to sing and star alongside him.

It certainly stood out. It's the polar opposite of a Balkan ballad. The costumes, the hiding in the laundry basket and the knitting brides. The bouquet launch mid-song and that moment when they both just jump straight up with joy. It probably had the highest Ljubavi quotient of any Balkan song ever, and is a content for the quirkiest and twee-est song in Eurovision history. This may be toxic for some (including Terry), but for me it's catnip.

It only just made it to the final, finishing ninth in a semi-final where just the first nine finishers were guaranteed to qualify. Between that semi-final and the final something happened however. The shock of seeing something so out there wore off, and slowly the televoters of Europe warmed to it. I can remember at the time, the comments about the song changed slowly from 'what the hell' to loving it in the space of the four days between the semi and the final. Laka and Pokušaj became something precious, to be protected and supported.

In the final Bosnia ended up in the top ten on a stage in Belgrade, finishing tenth in a field strewn with manufactured pop songs refined to appeal to diasporas and televoters. It was the outsider entry that won hearts and pulled off a surprise result.

Laka's star in Bosnia rose even further. There was another album out in 2011 and many performances. The TV station seemed to love him - what's not to love here? He's been spokesperson for Bosnia twice in 2010 and 2012.

Bosnia is a country that is still divided. You only have to look at the current reason why Bosnia cannot enter Eurovision even though the country and TV station really want to realise that the divide between populations still runs deep. Laka is one of those people who could, for a moment at least, make it all go away.

He's continued to release music with his sister up to the present day, and he's always stayed true to his creative vision. This is the video for his song Penzija (Pension) released at the end of 2024. He's still got it. Thank you Laka.

Un día más, verse envueltos en un mundo de vampiros les ha vuelto a exponer a todos a un grave peligro.

VICKI K. DONOVAN

RAZA: Fantasma VISIONADO DE LA SERIE: The Vampire Diaries (temporada 1, 3x01, 3x05, 8x16).

✦ Vicki es hija de la siempre ausente Kelly Donovan, y hermana mayor de Matt, a quien apoda cariñosamente como "Matty".

✦ Debido a su precariedad económica, trabajó desde muy joven como camarera en el Mystic Grill.

✦ Mantuvo una relación muy poco utópica con @Tyler R. Lockwood, mientras paralelamente mantenía relaciones sexuales con Jeremy Gilbert, de quien estaba realmente enamorada.

✦ Fue convertida en vampiresa por @Damon Salvatore, en un momento en el que este simplemente "se aburría".

✦ Su vida como vampiresa, por desgracia, fue muy breve: secuestrada por @Niklaus Mikaelson, fue sacrificada el 31 de enero de 2010 como parte del ritual de Klaus para que este volviera a ser un híbrido.

✦ Desde entonces, ha sido un fantasma anclado al Otro Lado. Sus cuentas pendientes le han impedido alcanzar la paz.

✦ ACTUALIDAD: A día de hoy, Vicki sigue siendo un fantasma. Echa mucho de menos a Matt, pero hay algo que echa aún más de menos: estar viva. Vicki sería capaz de hacer tratos casi con cualquier persona con tal de volver a tener una segunda oportunidad, aunque ello pudiera poner en peligro a personas que le importan.

VINCENT F. GRIFFITH

RAZA: Brujo vudú. VISIONADO DE LA SERIE: The Originals (desde 2x15 hasta el final).

✦ Ex-marido de Eva Sinclair. Tras el internamiento de esta en la Casa Fauline por sus crímenes, Vincent decidió dejar de practicar magia.

✦ Es miembro del aquelarre Tremé en Nueva Orleans. Estuvo un tiempo viviendo en soledad, pero eventualmente regresó al aquelarre.

✦ Es un brujo poderoso y reconocido entre los suyos, aunque en nuestro universo nunca fue poseído por Finn Mikaelson.

✦ Uno de los primeros hitos que llevó a cabo en su regreso al aquelarre, fue devolver a la vida a Jackson Kenner. No se fía por completo de él dada su naturaleza híbrida, pero es uno de los pocos grandes mandos en aquella ciudad en quien aprendió a confiar.

✦ Aunque los vampiros no son en absoluto de su agrado, tampoco lo era Uther Morningstar, el Regente de los Nueve Aquelarres. Nunca estuvo de acuerdo con sus extremas prácticas. Tanto es así, de hecho, que fue uno de los pocos brujos que siguió en contacto con Héctor Palax, ex-Anciano del Barrio Francés (expulsado por Uther, dadas sus afinidades con vampiros), a quien considera un buen amigo.

✦ ACTUALIDAD: La situación de los brujos es crítica. Desde la ruptura de la conexión con los Ancestros, y el posterior exilio de parte de los vampiros, la mayoría de brujos se han dispersado o se están escondiendo; el Regente les ha abandonado, y ahora todos se encuentran desamparados. En medio de esta situación de crisis, Vincent desea ayudar a los suyos a protegerse de sus enemigos. Quién sabe si ha llegado la hora de, poco a poco, ir recomponiendo sus filas, así como encontrar nuevos aliados. Sea como fuere, algo parece claro: hace falta alguien al mando, y aunque Vincent se resiste a ser quien ocupe aquel rol, empieza a asimilar que alguien como él podrá ser necesario muy pronto.
