married tkkg where both of them have sensory issues so they both use those ring holder necklaces at All Times.
they don’t keep their marriage a secret but it isn’t public cuz they don’t talk abt it and they don’t like pda, and obvs no one sees the rings (outside of the locker room).
anyways kageyama idiotically announcing their marriage to the world when an interviewer asks him about his dating life.
kags: oh i don’t date
interviewer, nodding understandingly: ur focus on your career is admirable
kags: oh no i dated a while ago. i’m married now, not dating.
interviewer: :0 married?? you don’t wear a ring
k: yes i do *pulls thin chain from under shirt to reveal a silver wedding band*
interviewer, flabbergasted: how long have you been-?
k: three-
the rest of his answer gets cut off when tsuki, who was on the sidelines, finally reaches the stage and pulls kageyama away.
tsuki smiles at the camera, says “this interview is over” and leaves with kags.
kags, who had been wanting to go public: whyd you do that?? :(
tsuki, who knew that and was trying to coordinate with their PR teams to do a joint interview to talk abt it: my personal life isn’t the worlds business

Kusakabe's Hazy Moon - Jian Zhi and Tsuki no Ken Techniques
In my previous analysis post [here], I touched on Hazy Moon in the context of the Kusa vs Sukuna fight, but I'd like to go more in-depth to show the true genius of his swordsmanship. Kusakabe's expertise goes far beyond traditional Japanese martial arts and kenjutsu, and I want to highlight his remarkable ability to transition and blend various sword styles in real-time combat.
After Atsuya throws hands with Sukuna and dodges Dismantle, we see him make this move:
Tumblr media
This is called Sword Hand—Jian Zhi (剑指), which is prevalent in Chinese martial arts but is known by different names in other martial arts around the world. The two extended fingers (index and middle) symbolize the blade of a sword, and the movement has several practical applications.
Directing Qi/Ki through the Body:
The fingers play a key role in directing the flow of vital energy (qi or ki) through the body. Jian Zhi can help concentrate this energy and enhance the precision and effectiveness of specific movements. This is the first reason Atsuya uses this gesture -- to gather cursed energy at his core and begin to direct it into his next attack.
Directing Qi/Ki through the Sword:
Just as Jian Zhi channels qi through the fingers, it can be directed through a blade. ***I'm breaking this application into smaller subsections, as each piece is connected to the overarching concept of Hazy Moon.***
Stability:
Jian Zhi helps maintain balance during complex techniques or transitions. As Kusakabe performs Jian Zhi mid-air, he conceals his broken katana in his suit jacket, holding it in his right hand. As he prepares to land, he quickly switches the jacket to his left hand, using Jian Zhi as a feint while also ensuring stability as he dodges another Dismantle and makes a safe landing.
Kusakabe's next movement has a different gesture with a different purpose.
Tumblr media
Transition to Open Hand (Zhǎng Fǎ 掌法):
Kusakabe reveals the katana in his left hand, and his right (dominant) hand transitions from the Jian Zhi into an open-hand Zhǎng Fǎ gesture. He already channeled and focused his cursed energy with Jian Zi, and Zhǎng Fǎ leads us into Hazy Moon.
Tumblr media
The purpose of Zhǎng Fǎ is to establish an initial point of contact for the gathered qi, then release and redirect it into the surrounding environment — in this case, Kusakabe's shattered blade. He draws the energy out from the break near the habaki and down to form the cursed blade.
Kusakabe uses techniques rooted in Chinese martial arts, but it is fascinating how he seamlessly blends them with his traditional kenjutsu.
Tsuki no Ken Technique:
While there hasn't been any official confirmation from Gege (as far as I know), I believe Kusakabe's Evening Moon Sword Drawing is based on Tsuki no Ken (月の剣), which draws inspiration from the moon and its changing phases. This sword style emphasizes controlled strength and precise timing rather than sheer power. Techniques often involve circular motions resembling the path of the moon, which can be used defensively to deflect energy or offensively to set up counterattacks.
Canon Kusakabe.
But wait, it gets better.
Here are some techniques from Tsuki no Ken:
Mikazuki Giri (三日月斬り - Crescent Moon Cut): A crescent-shaped cut made with a wide, arcing motion to generate quick power and cover distance. Battō Sword Drawing in a nutshell.
Tsukikage Sen (月影閃 - Moon Shadow Flash): Quick, darting movements to close distance and strike with precision for rapid engagement and disengagement. We witnessed this several times during the Sukuna fight and once in combination with the technique below.
Shingetsu Arashi (新月嵐 - New Moon Storm): A calm, defensive stance suddenly bursts into a flurry of rapid, aggressive strikes. This technique is designed to surprise and overpower with a sudden shift in speed. See this in action in the fight with Sukuna below.
Tumblr media
Mangetsu Gō (満月剛 - Full Moon Strength): Channels the user's full strength into a single, powerful blow, often aimed at a vital point. This was, in essence, Kusakabe's decisive finishing move as he aimed at Sukuna's injured heart.
That wraps up my analysis of Hazy Moon -- just another example of his genius. WE RESPECT KUSAKABE ATSUYA IN THIS HOUSE

So, at Episode 49, Season 1 ends.
Standard arc still has 4 episodes to go around.
So, there were the following breaks:
May 4, 2014 (Between ep. 4-5)
December 7, 2014. (Between ep. 34-35)
January 4, 2015 (Between ep. 37-38)
So, Season 1 lost about 3 episodes. Neat.
****
For the content.
Episode 48-49:
This is technically the debut of Abyss Actors. And Shun Pendulum Summons with them.
Michio tries to be a hero, but sacrifices himself. Teppei finally finds the value of friendship... in death.
Dennis leaves Obelisk Force guys to deal with to-be-Lancers, since he needs to keep up appearances. Dennis is under the assumption that Yuzu was captured by Yuri, which will turn out not to be the case.
Hikage serves as Shun's replacement sacrifice for Shun's loss. He is too popular, and angry to die.
Sora-Yuya duel has lots of Season 3 GX references. The whole "let's duel where they won't interfere" is copied from Yubel, of course Yuya's "SORA" screams are a reference to Judai's "JOHAN" screams. The battlefield is similar to Supreme King's Castle's bridge.
Sora-Yuya duel is inconclusive, though Yuya is implied to would have won. During the duel, Yuya manages to Summon Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon without going Berserk, which is nice. This time, Yuto's essence stops him from going berserk.
Mieru is stuck as our female character for a while, since cast does not know Serena.
Sawatari saved Tsukikage, which is probably why Tsukikage ends up feeling to protect him, he technically owes his life to him now. Shun is also stuck in a similar situation, indirectly by Gongenzaka using Shingo's Pendulum cards.
Sora duel, if conclusive would have been a good way to establish the theme of the series, but alas.
There is a nice book-end with this though. Sora was one of the first duels of the series, so it makes sense to book-end with him. Also, Reira smiles after duel with Tatsuya, which sets up the series ending.

tsukikage mafia drabbles
I honestly forgot I got this lmao but it's only like the surface or introduction to the story I have in my mind right but I think it would still be a good idea to upload this here.
tsukishima kei is a wealthy, established mafia around the city. everyone knows him, knows how he literally put everyone on their places
hes a mafia. yes. but hes not the type that go around killing people. hes more to like reminding people that the town is his and everyone should follow his rules
and ofc a mafia is a mafia. hes cold, can be ruthless for all he wants. hes feared by mostly everyone
so what happened when his wife died and he needs someone to take care of his 4 year old son while hes out doing business?
here comes kageyama tobio
kageyama is a simple man. he works as a volleyball coach for mostly kids and middle schoolers for the time being.
he was once a known man for his achievements in their nation volleyball team, but after getting into an accident, he can no longer play and thus, he decides to quietly leave the national team and lives by his own somewhere where no one would recognize him
what happen when kageyama miwa was in debt with tsukishima kei and the only solution was for her to marry off his only younger brother with the said man who apparently is in search for someone to take care of his son?

Hi... um... I'm not sure if you're taking a request but... Can I have TsukiKage roomate AU?
Thank you for your patience @hannycho12! I’ve been juggling two different roommates au, and this is the first one i’ve written when I got your request, before the inspiration for the other one came and I got more excited for that so I along with a friend developed it more than this one, but then I found that I couldn’t let go of this one, so I finished it and i really like how it came out... anyway i’m rambling. I hope you like it and I hope the wait was worth it! Enjoy! :)
----------
if music be the food of love
It starts, as most things does when it comes to Tsukishima, with Yamaguchi’s suggestion.
“Why don’t you try asking Kageyama?” he says over the phone.
“What?” Tsukishima asks, frowning a little at the suggestion as he easily sidesteps a group of elementary schoolboys gesticulating wildly with their stories while walking along the sidewalk.
“Try asking Kageyama,” Yamaguchi repeats with emphasis because he’s like that, even though he knows that the tone Tsukishima’s taken isn’t really asking him to repeat himself. “His uni is actually nearby your area and last I heard, he’s looking for a place to stay. Apparently, he turned his confirmation letter late and lost a slot for the dorms, so he had to find a place somewhere else,” Yamaguchi explained, like it was so easy.
Granted, it should be. And honestly, it would actually solve Tsukishima’s roommate problem. But then again, this is Kageyama they’re talking about and this is Tsukishima he’s talking to. Nothing was ever easy when the two of them are involved.
Tsukishima grunts in discontent and years of friendship allowed Yamaguchi to translate what it means even over the phone and without seeing his expression.
Why the King?
“Come on, Tsukki. Why not? It’s better to have a roommate that you know and can at least tolerate than a completely new stranger who you might not be able to tolerate, right?”
A long silence follows. Years of friendship allowed Tsukishima to feel Yamaguchi’s small, triumphant smile over the phone, even without seeing his expression.
Tsukishima huffs. He hates it when Yamaguchi is right.
And so it is. Six months of living together with Kageyama and Tsukishima still stands by begrudgingly accepting Yamaguchi’s suggestion for being right.
It turns out, Kageyama is actually a really, really decent roommate. Who would’ve thought?
Certainly not Tsukishima, especially not at first.
He’s counting on Kageyama being neat because he’d seen how he takes care of himself back then during camps and away games, and it’s usually a good indicator of how clean they are with their surroundings and living space as well, so that didn’t come as a surprise. And he’s already thankful for that, at the very least because that’s one thing he doesn’t have to worry about.
What came as a surprise however, is the unexpected knowledge that Kageyama needs to have music playing in the background.
Tsukishima comes home one night, a little later than his usual time, even later than Kageyama who has to stay until well in the evening for volleyball practices, and arrives to a pop song playing in the Bluetooth speaker in the living room. He finds Kageyama seated on the rug, his bag and some textbooks sprawled over the coffee table, unbothered by the noise and even bobbing his head up and down to the rhythm as he silently mouths along whatever passage he’s reading.
Tsukishima moves on autopilot from the shock of this new discovery, mechanically putting the keys into the bowl by the doorway and just felt generally out of place, like he’d stepped into an alternate universe of sorts, and only snaps out of it when Kageyama is serving him re-heated take-out food so he can finally have his dinner.
“I didn’t take you for someone who would listen to Kpop, King” he says while breaking the chopsticks that came with the meal. ‘I didn’t take for someone who listens to music at all’ he tacks on in his mind.
Kageyama blinks at him then finally registers the question. “Ahhh… That’s Natsu’s influence. You know, Hinata’s sister? Whenever I visited them, she always showed off the new songs and dances she’d learned.”
Tsukishima hums around the chopstick as he quietly chews his food, taking his word for it, but Kageyama seems to take it as expression of discontent.
“Does it bother you?” He asks, a little hesitant. Their arrangement is still fairly new and while they get into petty arguments right here and there, they already have established rules, though none of which covers playing music on the speaker. He didn’t think Tsukishima would be against it, knowing how Tsukishima also likes listening to music.
“No,” Tsukishima replies. “I don’t mind, as long as it isn’t too loud. I was just surprised that Your Highness was the type to always want some background music.”
“Well, living alone in a big house has something to do with that,” Kageyama shrugs. He further admits to Tsukishima that the house gets too quiet sometimes and that he had even spooked himself on some occasions because he wasn’t sure if he’s actually hearing things or just imagining them.
He tells it so nonchalantly, so dismissingly, but Tsukishima can’t help but imagine Kageyama alone in the house, doing chores or whatever with only having music for company just to try and fill the normal chatter, the normal sound of life going about that would surround a typical household. He puts down his chopsticks, his stomach twists because of uncharacteristic pity and the food he’s eating seems bland all of a sudden.
“Do whatever you want then,” he finally says. “As long as it’s not too loud or disturbing.”
Kageyama looks at him surprised, before the wobbly smile of happiness he’s wont to show when he’s grateful appears on his face, making his eyes sparkle and his cheeks pinker. Tsukishima’s stomach twists again but because of something else.
Since then, there would always be soft music playing around the house, and he’ll always find Kageyama whispering along as he washes the dishes, or swaying along as he mops and sweeps the floor when they’re cleaning.
And if some kpop songs with fast pumping beat found its way on Tsukishima’s music player, then it just goes to show that he is capable of listening and liking other genres, and is not a music elitist as Yamaguchi thought him to be.
And if they sometimes have an impromptu sing-off or dance-off (which Yamaguchi didn’t thought him to be capable of) well, it just makes living with Kageyama bearable, and dare he say it, even enjoyable.

Ya know, I think one of Arc-V's strong points is that when it has a lot of duels going on at the same time and back to back constantly, like it currently is in the battle royal, they never waste a whole episode on a single duel. It's been showing bits and pieces of all the duels, but never the whole duel and it mixes in actual plot progess in between.
Like after the Reira vs. Ayu duel, we kinda don't need to see every detail of how Reira beats Futoshi and Tatsuya. We don't need to spend a whole episode's worth of time on the Michio vs. Halil/Olga duel when it means nothing to the plot. We got through the Sora vs. Hikage duel and first part of the Obelisk Forces vs. Tsukikage/Teppei/Michio/Serena/Shun duel in one episode. All we needed to know was that Yuri is on Yuzu's tail and he's been chasing her down all night. We don't need to waste time on the specifics of that.
Within the first few episodes it was four or so episodes back to back of duels in order to introduce the LDS trio and everyone's decks beside Yuya's. It was kinda tough to get through and I think it could have benefitted from actually showing us some of Shun and Professor Marco's duel before the Yuya vs. Reiji duel. I also get tho that they had to establish who these characters are and what decks they use early on, so it's not a real fault.
But anyway, its nice that after we know what everyone's decks are and what their duel style is, the show doesn't force us to sit through 20 episodes worth of individual complete duels that ultimately don't matter much to the overall plot or don't contain any character development. I get the point of the YGO anime is to advertise the cards, but we all know that the vast majority of us aren't here to watch duels nonstop. We want the plot and characters, and I love how Arc-V is the only one I've watched so far to not waste time on the unnecessary parts. Especially considering how many characters its introduced already.

Keepsakes [Whumptober 2019 - Day 15: Scars]
Summary: Serena asks questions about Shun's scars, bringing them on the path of memories.
Fandom: Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V (post-canon, implied alternate ending) Ship: Established Serena/Shun
Wordcount: 1.171 words
Content Warnings: Brief mentions of surgeries. Some references to a near-death experience. Consensual love.
Notes: It's whump if I mention how the scars happened, right? Because otherwise this is all fluff lol Nano and I got the same idea when I mentioned to her the next Whumptober prompts on my list being, back then, "Tear-Stained" and "Scars" : Peregrine stuff. We need more of it. I'll provide, I don't care how or when, I'll provide. I didn't intend this oneshot to have such a sensual tone, but I'm not against it, I've barely written any intimacy lately. The most sensual thing I've written aside from that was, like, a hug in BWI maybe? (spoils spoils) This is meant to be post-canon where the dimensions have fused together, but the Bracelet Girls and Yu Boys are free and not stuck in one mind because that was bogus/20. Bracelet Girls rights. (this story isn't the right place to complain about Arc-V disappointing us). And of course these two are a little older than they are in canon, they're young people who know what they're doing and can consent. I absolutely self-indulgently slipped a reference to a former work of mine, "Birds of a Feather, Fall Together". I've also included a modified reference to an older Arc-V fic I absolutely love, "placeholders" by harezora (who's most likely never gonna read these notes, but in case they do: I love this story so much it was great and better than canon holy shit).
Event hosted by @whumptober2019
AO3 version available here.
------
The stare she was giving his chest was a bit too intense to his liking, as if her eyes were deciphering some ancient writing on a wall, scrolling from top to bottom, gliding from the left to the right. For a first night sharing a bed in peaceful condition with so little clothing on either of them (it had taken ages for him to even get comfortable with the idea, let alone putting it into place), it was a weird thing for her to do.
Not like he was any better, considering his own eyes couldn’t seem to unglue themselves from the bits of exposed skin left alone by her pyjamas, trailing from her slender shoulders to her hands, focusing on the few imperfections left on her skin by time and experiences, the easily seen and the barely visible, the memories’ physical form laid before him.
“What are you staring at like that?” he still asked, right as he himself didn’t look quite exactly into her gaze.
“Your scars”, she bluntly replied.
He found himself puffing.
“They’re terrible, right?”
“They’re scars, really,” she continued, crossing her legs on the bed. “You’ve got a lot of them, but they’re a part of yourself. We wouldn’t be the exact same without them.”
That was a bit too deep for his late-night brain, truth be told.
“I suppose so.”
She must have been right, he silently figured, considering the number of scars he could see on her body.
Serena’s eyes didn’t deter. In fact, her gaze only grew in strength as it continued deciphering the foreign inscriptions in front of her eyes. Her hand twitched on her tight, fingers in a dire want to move, as if she was preventing them from taking off somewhere else.
“I see that you too have a lot of-”
“Can I ask you about them?”
The question surprised him beyond his mind.
“…Come again?”
“Can I ask you about your scars?”
His eyes were furiously blinking.
“Sure, I guess…?”
What was so interesting about these? They were just ugly, abhorrent traces left behind by wounds of all sorts. And yet, and yet, he found himself with her fingers dancing around his chest, her touch almost sending shivers down his spine (it was closer to a fluttering feel he wasn’t very familiar with, at least not yet), her eyes shining with the light of the bedside lamp.
He didn’t mind, frankly. It had a weird sense of comfort to have her explore him like this, curiosity filling her every move. It made it far less awkward for him to do the same, his own hands brushing against her shoulders, questions coming to his mind. How had she gotten herself these blemishes on her shoulder blades, as light as they were, near a crescent-shaped birthmark right over her breast? Where did the little scars on her arms came from?
Serena was right: they wouldn’t be the same without their scars. This much he could only realize, now that he was actually discovering someone else’s body for the first time in his life.
Her fingertip stopped on the freshest scar on his skin, laying right under his ribcage.
“This one is from what I think, right?”
“Our first meeting,” he commented. “Well, the aftermath of it, at least.”
“I remember you trying to escape the hospital right before your surgery. Reiji had to send Tsukikage to stun you before you did because Yuya didn’t want to hurt you.”
Her laugh made it worth the embarrassment.
“Sorry, I just… remember your reaction to it. It wasn’t funny at the time, but now that I think about it… It’s kind of funny.”
Her eyebrows then slightly frowned, making her smile bittersweet.
“…we didn’t start on the best first impressions, did we? You know, being on the opposite sides of a war, my people wanting to slaughter yours and the opposite way around, the Lancers…”
“I wouldn’t have said that. You were the best first impression I had in that dimension.”
“Was it because I looked like Ruri?”
“Maybe.”
She smiled as her finger left its spot.
“I’m just glad we’re at peace now.”
“Same here.”
Silence fell between them, albeit only for a short-lived moment, as her finger was still dancing around, eyes following it, before it found itself another spot to ask about.
“And this one?”
Her touch landed on his abdomen, on an old scar he had almost forgotten about from how used he was to seeing it every morning, every evening, every day, every night. Her eyes were sharp, to notice such a faded-out line.
“An old surgery from when I was a kid. I tried ignoring it, but it wasn’t an option. The best thing I remember about it was Ruri sitting by the bed asking me if it hurt.”
“And, did it hurt?”
“It was just sore, really.”
“What surgery was it?”
“Appendicitis, I think.”
“Ah… Never got it myself. Sounds rough.”
“Don’t,” he laughed, looking back at his younger self lying frustrated in a hospital bed. “It was a terrible time to be alive.”
It wasn’t funny, but she giggled back anyway.
“I’m sure it was.”
Her irises continued their dance, accompanied by her lips shaped in a soft smile. This was a face he could have never resisted, the one who had won him over when he was refusing to show more skin than his arms to her. She’d be the death of him, now that the people trying to kill his entire kind were gone and on the path of redemption – but what a desirable demise she’d be.
“Oh, and this one?”
Her finger gently pressed against a deeper, much more visible scar on his left flank. That one displeased him much more than he’d have wished to admit.
“I got stabbed by an Obelisk Force jackass back in Xyz, before Yuto and I came to Standard, right in front of Ruri too. If it wasn’t for her, I’d have bled out there.”
“That’s horrible…”
“Wasn’t a cosy time to be alive either. Just shows you how strong my sister actually is. Heh, I was blind back there.”
Serena was quiet, her five fingers now flat on his abdomen.
“Hey, don’t make this face. I’m still here, alive and kicking, and so are you. That’s what matters.”
This managed to bring a small smirk back to her lips.
“You’re right.”
She eventually sighed, cupping his face with her hands, her slender fingers brushing through his hair.
“I’ll have to tell you about mine someday. I don’t have as many, or with as much history, but…”
“That’s wrong. I’m sure they have more meaning that you’re trying to imply.”
“You think?”
“Try me.”
They exchanged mischievous looks, smiles and gazes swapped.
“For another day, then. We got to make the fun last.”
Peace meant they finally had time before them to enjoy life and all the things it brought with it, good and bad.
“Of course,” he said, before they closed the space between their lips.

established 2nd year tsukikage that is sudden; that no one expected. one day, in the middle of a match timeout, off to the side, people just suddenly see kei twirling tobio's hair with his fingers, subtly smirking as he mutters shameless flirtations to a frowning but reddening tobio
they're watched with gobsmacked faces and gushy whispers of their teammates and people at the bleachers. and they all just watch tobio turn away, blushing, while a chuckling kei just puts an arm around his shoulder before smoothly ruffling his hair with small pats
JUST. tkkg at the comfortable phase of their relationship where when they're teased by ennoshita to tone down the flirting when the match resumes, kei fakes a cough while tobio looks away, but they don't deny anything, clapping each other's hand in a quiet movement before the whistle

Heaven Is Not A Place On Earth: Outline
This is a fic I’m never going to write but I do have it outlined to 89% completion, I figured that I would share it so interested parties could have a glimpse into what could have been~
my outline is a list which contains 100+ items so be careful when you open up the post. also, warnings for adultery, murder & character deaths
1.      Mieru divines the blessed army to lead against the Academia Invasion but also Zarc’s Scourge
2.      Reiji takes Reira from their room; Mieru muses on how its strange that the Queen wanted another child in the wake of Ray’s death
3.      The three of them are then joined by Tsukikage who brandishes his teleportation ARM
4.      The four arrive at a safe place for Reiji to conduct the Monban Pierrot ritual
5.      Whilst that is happening, Mieru passes the time by doing some fortune telling in order to divine what kind of person(s) the Legendary Hero is going to be; she has some light-hearted moments imagining a musclebound hero, a charming hero, but also anxieties about a hero being malevolent rather than beneficial to the army
6.      Yuya and Yuzu are summoned
7.      Mieru is Shaken™ because she’s had dreams about Yuya and done seances, trying to contact him and realises that Yuya is her soul mate
8.      Yuya talks about how his father went missing as a child and how his father would talk to him about Marchen before he went missing; Yuzu verifies
9.      Reiji has his suspicions especially since Yuya looks very similar to a travelling magician Reiji met once as a child prior to his father’s court being dissolved and his father escaping because of war crimes
10.  Their army grows from four to six and Reiji muses about how that means there are four members left to find
11. Reiji charts a course for them when Tsukikage receives a message from his brother talking about raids happening against them; he thinks it might be related to Zarc’s Scourge
12.  (spoilers, it’s not: its Shun & Yuto)
13.  Reiji hosts a meeting with the vassals and speak with victims of the scourge; he tells Mieru to look after their “guests” plus Reira
14.  Yuya and Yuzu are treated to some assimilation in the city to help them less stand out and also equip them with the necessary means to fight in this world given that they were summoned to be soldiers
15.  Yuzu gets separated from the group; she encounters Yuto
16.  Yuya gets separated from the group; he encounters Sora
17.  Shun picks a fight with Reiji when he separates from the group
18.  They get into a fight and Reiji remembers Mieru’s prophecy regarding the hunting bird and the dove
19.  Yuzu, Yuya, and Sora all meet up
20.  Mieru is panicking but eventually regroups with the others; Sora disappears afterwards and makes Suspicious Comments about Yuzu and Yuya being so friendly with a witch
21.  Yuya gets defensive and asks why Sora would say such cruel things about the crown princess of Keldea
22.  Sora goes :0 and then >:3 in reaction to that and then excuses himself
23.  Mieru has a reaction to that probably
24.  They rejoin with Reiji again who announces that they have a bird to hunt for sport
25.  Reiji vs Shun PART TWO, HELL YEAH
26.  Reiji wins and the peanut gallery – namely Yuya and Yuzu – are gobsmacked by how powerful those little trinkets are
27.  Shun is thoroughly defanged by the match and swears his allegiances because he knows now that Reiji is unaffiliated with Academia
28.  Shun joins the Lancers
29.  Reiji decides that their next course of action will be to recruit “the nobleman” but he has no idea who that is, but he has a sneaking suspicion that it’s the one nobleman that he can’t stand because Fates is Hashtag Like That
30.  So, he organises a meeting with said nobleman
31.  And his suspicions are proven correct
32.  Some sort of Sawatari side quest begins
33.  Yuya and Yuzu get a moment to shine/use their ARMs and it turns out that shit is way harder than the pros make it look
34.  Some sort of Sawatari side quest ends
35.  Army grows to eight: leaving only the spy, the defector, and the strongman
36.  Gongenzaka side quest begins
37.  Tsukikage and Mieru get the chance to have a Big Damn Heroes Moment inside of it, probably
38.  Yuto also probably reappears at some point to go “Shun, what the fuck?” and “oh, hi Yuzu, you look really pretty today”
39.  Gongenzaka side quest ends
40.  He, Yuzu, and Yuya get along really well
41.  Their movement begins to attract the attention of Academia
42.  Thus introducing Serena who wants to prove her worth but everyone’s like “oh kitten, not now, dearest” and she resents that
43.  Serena attempts to take the head of Prince Reiji
44.  She is inadvertently intervened by Yuzu who just wants some hash tag girl time with a girl she doesn’t loathe since Mieru is really not that subtle about her crush on Yuya
45.  Serena learns that Academia is… Not Good
46.  They split up??? IDK maybe Shun chases her off or something only to go “wait, shit, was that Ruri??”
47.  Serena’s bodyguard (what’s his face) tries to find her and bring her back
48.  Serena fends him off for a while but fails
49.  But luckily, it’s Reiji’s turn (again) for a Bid Damn Heroes moment and Serena is like “oh god, oh fuck, he’s kind of hot for a skinny prick”
50.  Reiji then successfully recruits Serena
51.  And also escalates Academia into progressing the war games
52.  Whilst that’s happening, Yuya is having an identity crisis because of Yuto
53.  And then Yugo shows up and that identity crisis doubles
54.  Zarc’s Scourge begins to… be a thing
55.  Anyway, Sora sorts them out and then flees when the rest of the Lancers who are capable of fighting turn up
56.  The following day people have no idea what’s going on
57.  And to make matters worse, Reiji receives a formal invite to the War Games
58.  The date has been chosen, and he’s looking at his army and they’re all dumbasses, so he has Mieru prepare a training trip for them
59.  Implied training montage
60.  And that brings us to the date of the War Games, so they head to the location of the War Games in the Citadol or whatever
61.  Introducing Melissa Claire to the scene; she’s going to be our host for the War Games
62.  They arrive and Reiji is lowkey stressed because they’re missing a member and they have no idea what’s going on
63.  But oh hey look, Dennis is here.
64.  Flashback establishing Dennis’ relationship with Reiji and Mieru as the royal court jester of Keldea
65.  Dennis “offers” to be the extra set of hands Reiji needs and Reiji is highkey suspicious, but you know what? Adult life is already so goddamn weird, this may as well happen
66.  Mieru has a dumbass moment here probably regarding Dennis
67.  Anyway, there’s a trumpet sequence and out come Sora, bouncing and happy, eating candy, saying hello to his dear friends Yuya and Yuzu but uh oh…
68.  He’s revealed to be a part of Academia’s entourage
69.  The Professor, The Tyler Sisters, Yuri, Edo, [name], a Brainwashed Rin and Ruri also appear
70.  Melissa begins to explain how the War Games will work
The War Games will proceed until one side has lost more than half their players
Losing players are killed or treated as though they have been killed
At some point, every member of the team has to have been on the field in the duel
If a Captain (so Reiji or the Professor) loses then the War Games are over, no matter how premature but there is a ban on either of them entering the fray until at least day four.
A dice will decide which players fight and when
Environments for the duels are chosen “at random”
71.  And then she has a light bulb moment when she notices something remiss regarding Academia. Melissa points out that Academia technically doesn’t have players for the War Game
72.  The Professor smirks and says “They’re here, give them a moment”
73.  Dennis has a shifty moment
74.  Melissa declares the War Games feast open and that the matches will begin tomorrow
75.  Round 1: Sawatari vs Edo
76.  Sawatari astounds everyone and manages to win the match
77.  Round 2: Shun vs Sora
78.  Lancers win
79.  Round 3: Mieru & Dennis vs Yuri & Sora
80.  Dennis risks revealing himself to be the spy and aides Yuri and Sora by throwing the match
81.  Mieru loses and Reiji is like “oh shit, maybe I do have feelings for my fiancé, even though I have been technically cheating on her”
82.  Additionally, Reiji realises that “the spy” from Mieru’s prophecy is not a spy working for him, like he had hoped/otherwise thought
83.  Round 4: Shun and Tsukikage vs The Tyler Sisters
84.  Lancers win and the Tyler Sisters are severely punished for it
85.  Leo kills them in cold blood in front of everyone and it finally sinks in for Yuya and Yuzu that Marchen isn’t as fluffy as they thought it was
86.  Round 6: Gongenzaka vs Dennis
87.  Lancers win and Dennis, at least temporarily, kills himself off-screen but Gongenzaka finds his suicide note or equivalent
88.  Round 7: Serena vs [her old bodyguard]
89.  Round 8: Yuya & Yuzu vs Rin & Ruri
90.  Lancers win and manage to break the spell Rin & Ruri were under
91.  Shun and Ruri have a heartfelt reunion
92.  Reiji steps in before anything can happen to Rin, so she finds asylum with the lancers
93.  Rin is amnesiac now??? Maybe???
94.  Final Round: Reiji & Yuya vs The Professor & Yuri
95.  Lancers win and Reiji goes to murder Leo and Yuya is like “bitch what the fuck, you can’t kill him, he’s your father”
96.  And Reiji’s like “well I have to; he broke one of the most important laws of Keldea
97.  Reiji proceeds to kill Leo in front of Yuya
98.  Yuya goes berserk
99.  Reiji has an “oh shit” moment
100.                      Yuri, who was barely standing, also goes berserk
101.                      Reiji realises there is an unexpected element in his father’s plan: it wasn’t just total domination of Keldea and Marchen, there was something else which even Reiji didn’t know about and its too late now to ask him what his goal is because he’s a corpse
102.                      Yuzu manages to calm Yuya
103.                      Serena manages to calm Yuri
104.                      The War Games are over, but Reiji still needs to quell Zarc’s scourge, especially since something is Wrong
105.                      Rin tells him about Yugo and Reiji begins to wonder
106.                      Four boys; four girls: Zarc and Ray – is it all connected? Can it all be connected?
107.                      He and Mieru have a deep and meaningful on the topic
108.                      Yugo returns to plot somehow???
109.                      Stuff happens???
110.                      Final confrontation with Yu-Boys vs Yu-Girls
111.                      Ray resurrects via Reira somehow
112.                      Zarc is defeated
113.                      Relationships are somehow resolved
114.                      Happily ever after :)

Arc V Anniversary Day 25
Day 25: Most underrated moments:
I wanted to do this prompt as well because I think that there are quite a few underrated moments throughout the series. Yuya vs. Shuzo is such a good underrated episode. I really love how they handled Yuya's emotional breakdown over Pendulum cards. There was a gradual buildup throughout the first few episodes of the series. Yuya thought that he was the only one who could use Pendulum cards, but seeing Sawatari be able to use his cards seemingly without any help hit Yuya pretty hard, especially when he had spent time practicing with Gongenzaka to get Pendulum summoning down. Even after he won the duel, Yuya was wondering how someone else could perform a Pendulum summon. His reaction to Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon being destroyed for the first time during his duel with Sora was especially telling. Yuya's scream followed by hiding his tears through his goggles was such so heartbreaking. He was already so attached to the idea that his monsters were extra special after becoming Pendulum monsters. For someone with low self-esteem like Yuya, he would be protective over something that makes him feel special. Seeing that Pendulum monsters could be destroyed like any other monsters just made Yuya feel less special as a result and led to that emotional breakdown. Seeing Reiji have his own Pendulum cards was the final straw. Yuya still believed that he was chosen by the Pendulum cards, but seeing that someone else had their own Pendulum cards just shattered this illusion and thus weakened his already low self esteem even further. He was able to keep on dueling to help save You Show, but it was clearly bothering him and he broke down shortly after Reiji left.
It was still selfish and more than a little unrealistic for Yuya to think he would always be the only one with Pendulum cards, but it was also completely fitting with what they established with Yuya's personality and the gradual buildup made me appreciate it more. I really liked how Shuzo did point out that other people could get Pendulum cards in the future thanks to LDS. At the time, I thought it was possible that they'd meet another character who was really the creator of Pendulum cards too. Helping Yuya to overcome this problem through a story about his father was a really great idea. Yuya admires Yusho so much and trying to connect this issue with people copying Yusho's dueling style was a good way to help Yuya realize that other duelists having Pendulum cards isn’t terrible. I especially loved the notion that Yuya could still be an example for other Pendulum duelists. Yuya shouldn't just consider himself to be special automatically simply by having the only known Pendulum cards in their world. He can still be special as the one who opened the door to Pendulum summoning and he can stand out among the best through his own skills, determination and hard work. It was such a wonderful message and it was exactly the kind of lesson Yuya needed to learn. It showed that Shuzo can be more than just comedy relief too. It's easily one of my favorite moments in the whole series.
Sora declaring himself as their friend during the Synchro arc is another good underrated moment. Sora's character arc in general might be underrated. I remember he got a lot of attention during season one and that was understandable. He was this mysterious figure within the main cast and his match against Shun is often considered one of the best duels in the series too. But I don't see as much praise for his character arc, which is a shame since I think it's pretty good. I really liked that Sora was trying to save Yuzu and still follow his orders for Academia at the same time. He didn't realize the contradiction until Yuya pointed it out since Sora was so sure that saving Yuzu while getting Serena back would be perfectly fine. I liked that this change was a gradual progression instead of something that happened right away. Sora already developed a nice friendship with Yuya and especially Yuzu, so wanting to help them was believable, but he still felt like he had to remain loyal to Academia despite his desire to help his friends. His interactions with both Yuya and Yuzu helped him to understand that Academia is the enemy and that helping them was just going to hurt more people in the long run. Sora was still struggling with these conflicting feelings for awhile and that showed just how much of a tight grip Academia's teachings had on his mind.
Even though Sora had already helped Tsukikage to defeat some Obelisk Force soldiers, declaring that he is their friend to Serena was just a great moment. He fully embraced that he was no longer loyal to Academia and recognized that he was indeed their alley now. Having Sora instantly accept that he was no longer a member of Academia after he talked to Yuya or even Yuzu could have felt too easy and cheap, especially after he was completely loyal to Academia during season one, Having this change be the result of Sora talking with his friends and gradually accepting that his friends mattered more to him than Academia as a result does made it feel much more natural and meaningful. It was also sweet to see Yuya being so happy upon hearing this, especially after Roger tried to make him doubt that Sora would actually want to help him. It was just such a good moment that really helped to make me like Sora more.

if you want: something like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei or Monogatari just more lighthearted / quirky fucking characters and story / randomness galore
If I say the words “Studio Shaft, quirky and Hiroshi Kamiya’ what anime pops into your head?
For most it’d be the Monogatari franchise. For some it would be Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. And for a select few it’d be Arakawa.
Due to how much these 3 have in common, it’s almost impossible to not compare them, even subconsciously.
Our story begins with Ichinomiya Kou, the son of an incredibly successful bussiness man. He has been brought up all his life with the idea that he must not be indebted to others in any way, ever. Well, he runs into a problem when he is stuck on a bridge in his underwear as he is trying to climb a pillar to reach his pants. A mysterious girl fishing there watches on in silence after he turns her help down. Suddenly, the pillar breaks and he almost drowns in the river but gets saved by the mysterious girl. Kou suddenly finds his entire life being indebted to this girl and desperately tries to compensate her but she  only asks for one thing: for him to be his lover.
The Arakawa riverband is actually the home to a bunch of fucking weirdos as Kou later finds out. The girl who saved her, Nino, keeps saying the she is a Venusian. Then we have a guy in a Kappa suit pop up who is the “village chief” and keeps insisting that he most definitely is NOT a man in a kappa suit. He gives our main character a new name that he will use in his new home: Recruit.
We also have a buff former military man dressed in a nun suit who’s called Sister and a musician in a star mask called Hoshi and a few more.
So, this is where the comparison being a problem comes up. The weird characters, nonsensical story, the colour scheme, the quick cuts, reactions and overall presentation just makes you think of the other 2 works I listed above (if you’ve seen them, obviously). And that’s a problem cause Arakawa feels like a lesser product of those 2.
First the presentation. This whole anime being played out in the same location feels restricting. Even though we have random buildings, the majority of the time we’re outside where the dominating colours are blue (river and the sky) and green (grass). I found it all a bit boring after a while. The quick cuts and seperate shots were also lackluster. Especially in Monogatari, these work to compensate for the long dialouges, keeping the eyes occupied while listening to characters talk. Here, these seperate shots aren’t drawn that well and they often use muted, pastel or just 1-2 colours for them.
There isn’t a story here, like, at all. There’s some bigger overarching plot in the second half but it gets resolved pretty fast. Arakawa mostly has short stories that are based on the randomness of the characters and whatever they get up to. So then, what this show needs is great characters. Well…
The cast is silly. As weird as you would expect. However, randomness is only funny if we know why it’s random aka we need to be aware of what is considered “common sense” in the world to really understand how weird the actions of the characters are. Our “common sense meter” would’ve been Kou/Rec, however in just a few episodes he becomes part of the weird community and finds less and less stuff weird. He still can’t get over certain people and whatever they do but he reacts less to them. This is basically an inbetween of Nozomu-sensei and Koyomi. Koyomi is almost completely seperated from the events while Nozomu-sensei is basically the weirdest out of the bunch. Kou is part of the weird gang himself yet still feels distant from them, making it hard to relate to him but not making him as funny and quirky as the others around him. Still, seeing Kou’s life philosophy completely get flipped on its head is fun to watch.
This review has really gotten away from me, I don’t even remember what point I wanted to make. So to wrap up: if you really want something in the vein of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Monogatari but would be fine with a more lighthearted approach, you can give Arakawa a try. If you haven’t seen either series but would like to see something non-conventional and quirky, I’d also recommend this. [7/10] (x)

if you want: cute girls being friends and spies / SPIES / about 3 plot twists / nice fight animation
While scouring the offering of the last Fall Season’s, my eyes immediately drew to this anime. Of course, I’d have watched it just for the fact that I saw a bunch of girls being badass but even more, the whole concept (and even the artstyle) reminded me of Princess Principal (x) which was one of the most surprisingly great anime I’ve seen so I was hoping for something similiar with Release the Spyce.
The plot isn’t anything special. Our introduction starts with Momo, who gets befriended by some girls at her new school. She is later told that these 5 girls are part of a secret spy organization, Tsukikage, who defend the city from the shadows. The Tsukikage are all young girls, as they use special spices that enchance their ability to fight and the effectiveness of the spice lessens, the older one gets. Tsukikage has been fighitng against an evil organization called Moryo for a long time.
As you can see, the story itself is pretty generic so the anime has to rely on other offerings to keep people’s attention.
First would be the characters, more or less. The cast has a varied set of personalities and chemistry between them. Due to the fact that 3 of the girls (including Momo) are apprentices to 3 of the older members, who are their mentors, we mostly see interactions with those 3 pairs. However, even with that I felt that there was some untapped potential with the girls and their unique relationships. Don’t get me wrong, everyone gets some background story and a decent amount of time establishing their characters but there still something missing. As I wreck my brain though, with everything that happens, the only thing that could’ve fixed this issue would’ve been more episodes. For its runtime of 12 episodes, the anime does as much as it can.
The second thing that can draw you in, is the missions and the animation of the fights. The shorter “mini missions” didn’t do much for me, but the ones that spanned across 1 or 2 whole episodes were really interesting to watch. The animation, while lacking in some departments, mostly shined in the fight scenes. Really, there isn’t much else to say about this one. If you want some engaging spy missions with nice animation, here you go!
Release the Spyce is very tame, everything considering, up until episode 10. That’s when shit goes DOWN and we get like 3 plot twists on top of each other and whew...I really liked it! I would’ve wished that the atmosphere we get at the very end would’ve been present at least here and there throughout the rest of the anime, but it does make it even more shocking. And I’ll stop here cause I won’t be spoiling.
RtS is a nice watch but it’s restricted by its short runtime. Nothing really can be done about that unfortunately. If you are interested based on what I’ve written above, give it a try! [7/10] (x)

Second Blog Anniversary
[Soooooooooo~ I never thought I'd reach this point, but today, I am happy to celebrate my second anniversary as an Arc-V roleplayer on tumblr, with of course everything starting from this blog \(^o^)/
There's been many ups and downs, many involuntary hiatus, but in the end, I just love RPing as Shun and as Ruri (and even as Serena, whenever she decides to actually cooperate with me), so it is only appropriate for me to thank those who have made this experience a special one in particular:
@hxneyed-eyes:  On your old blog, you were the very first person to follow me, as well as the second to put up with my clumsy first attempts at RPing in English- which were honestly horrendous- with so much patience and to still give me a chance in spite of my severe lack of experience. It is genuinely nice to see you back in the Arc-V RPing community, and I'm already looking forward to future interactions!
@kitameguire: The second person to follow me and the first to ever send this blog a meme, which then turned into the very first thread I ever had. Had it not been for your patience and your willingness to give me a chance as an RPer and to send me memes, I would've never been able to establish myself as a Shun RPer, and for that, you have my eternal gratitude. Your Yuzu muse is precious beyond words, and you, the mun, are the kindest person in this fandom without allowing for your kindness to be tainted by hypocrisy in a single instance. (And lemme just say that your taste in Arc-V ships is A++)
@sakakiyushou: It has been a while since I've last seen you around on tumblr, but your commentaries on my Hostage and Amethyst threads and your reactions were always such a pleasure to read as you were just so open and honest about your thoughts and feelings, making it all the more enjoyable to have you suffer and rejoice alongside us. I don't know whether you are still a member of the fandom and whether your hiatus is temporary or permanent, but I'd like to thank you for the smiles you put on my face, and I do wish you the best in all your endeavors in RL and online <3
@tsukikagc : Your take on Tsukikage is wonderful beyond words, elevating him from a plot device used to a multifaceted character of a beautifully gray morality and with a backstory in complete accordance with the earlier tone of Arc-V. I am deeply grateful to you for being one of the very few to give my alternate take on Ruri a chance and for being the first to actively take our threads between Tsuki and Ruri in a shippy direction- further proving that you do not treat her as inferior, and I greatly appreciate you being so accommodating in regard to my requested worldbuilding and timeline changes in our threads, allowing me to enjoy them without any kinds of restrictions. RPing with you is super fun, and of course, you are super nice OOC as well, so a definite 10/10 from me!
@sharmat-dreams: You're not even in the same fandom and yet, you encouraged me to do my best with what limited resources I had in my beginning stages as a tumblr RPer, giving me advice when I really wanted to stop for feeling inadequate, and really, in the circumstances of you having no kind of emotional connection to Shun and the world he resides in, what you did for me back then means all the more to me. You're an amazing person and an amazing friend – the only one I'd think of as a Senpai completely unironically – and I'm kinda semi-secretly hoping for the day of the two of us having more fandoms in common again.
@presidentakaba: What would I do without you?! You were the very first person to indulge me with this very specific wish list thread that I still love to BITS even today. It is always such a pleasure to RP and ship with you, and it was you who made me realize how much fun it is for a thread to not always be deadly serious, as in the communities I was accustomed to in my country, humorous RPs could basically be equalled 'gross OOC bastardizations of all characters involved'. Your Reiji is such a delight to interact with, as you so very skillfully explore what he could have remained, had he not been stripped of his intellect, his values, and agenda – at this point, you really are the only one to depict him in this light, and I always gush at how beautifully morally gray he is without being portrayed as misled. Thanks for playing along with my self-indulgent thread ideas, for allowing me to explore my canon divergent muses' potential without any kind of restrictions, for creating happy roleplaying memories of conditional fluff and soul-crushing angst alike, both together shaping meaningful bonds between our characters that are far beyond being two-dimensional – and last but not least, thank you for being a treasured friend I can always count on.
@kansuigyo: Oh goooooosh, roleplaying with you is just a complete and utter delight! I just love your work at developing and fixing butchered and/or underdeveloped characters whose radiance outshines their canon counterparts in both, canon divergent scenarios and AUs alike. And with the high extent of your thoughtfulness and the creative ideas you have, even the most meticulous of plotting and worldbuilding never feels like a chore but is always something I enjoy and actively look forward to. I deeply apologize for always taking so long to reply to you in particular, but please allow me to tell you this: Each and every thread we have demands for me to employ everything I have as an RPer, as the standards you set are incredibly high, compelling me to give you nothing but my absolute best, as even in a decent condition, I am still struggling to come even close to them. Talking to you about Arc-V's wasted potential and ways of fixing what went wrong by exploring what the more complex characters could have been has been one of the most soothing things for my declining sanity in response to the entire Konami and fandom nonsense – all thanks to your deeply-founded understanding and critical thought, making the act of conversing with you alone a treat every single time. Thanks for being such a wonderful friend, and for sharing your thoughts with me in such a delightful way!
..Of course, I’d also like to thank each of my followers in general- those who’ve been there from day one and those who stumbled across this blog just recently alike- for giving this blog a chance and keeping me company, but specifically those who have sent me questions, memes or commentary. It is people like you who have made me appreciate tumblr’s RPing format in particular!]
