Sunlight streamed through the crack between the curtains, rousing you from your very last night of peaceful sleep in Jungkook's bed. Peeling one eye open, you noticed Jungkook's face barely an inch away from yours on the pillow. A small sad smile appeared. You would miss that sight. How childlike he looked in his sleep. You could feel his breath fan against your face as he lightly snored. Reaching a hand up, you stroked a strand of hair away from his face. His nose twitched. Your fingers moved of their own accord, drifting down his temple to his cheekbone before pausing at his jaw. Did you dare go further? Cautiously, you traced a line across his smooth skin to his chin.
He shifted slightly, your breath catching in your throat when he let out a deep sigh. His arms tightened around you, pulling you closer, the gap between your faces getting smaller.
"Noona..."
Despite being there, warm and wrapped in his embrace, you felt a pang of longing echo through your body. In only a few hours you'd be saying your goodbyes. Even the thought of going home back to your small single bed made you sniffle, a sign you were tearing up.
Shit. You tried to turn away from him. Maybe you could stop the tears if you weren't facing him. You tried to turn with as little disturbance as possible but in your haste, you failed miserably and ended up with a sleepy Jungkook grabbing your shoulder.
"Noona?" His voice was hoarse from sleep and you instantly froze, shushing him.
You didn't trust your voice not to break if you were to speak. He shifted and was soon hovering over you with a concerned expression.
"Why are you crying?" His thumb brushed across your cheek, wiping away a tear you weren't aware had escaped.
You swallowed around the lump that had formed in your throat, and when you finally spoke your voice was barely above a whisper.
"I-I don't-t want-t to g-go."
His hand remained on your cheek, thumb soothingly stroking your cheek as he stared down at you.
"No need to cry Noona. You don't want the members to see you with puffy eyes, do you? Anyway, you'll be back before you know it."
You sniffed back any more tears, suddenly feeling pathetic for crying.
"Sorry for being stupid and getting upset."
A crease formed between his brows.
"Don't be so mean to yourself. Noona is everything but stupid."
"I find that hard to believe."
"It’s natural for you to be upset about leaving. You had fun, yes?" You nodded. "You had good sleep, yes?" You nodded again. "You enjoyed spending time with the members and I, yes?"
You smiled, "Of course I did."
His eyes crinkled as his lips spread into a wide smile.
"Good. That makes me very happy."
"Good."
He chuckled and lowered his weight onto one hip beside you, his head supported by his hand. His other hand dropped from your cheek to the shoulder of your bad arm.
"Are you in any pain?"
You shook your head. Your body was already growing used to the pain even though the break had happened just over a week before. Jungkook raised an eyebrow in suspicion.
"It's fine." You started to lift your arm to prove your point but he gently pressed it back into the mattress.
"You still need to take your pain medication."
You wrinkled your nose in disgust making him lean forward to boop his own against yours. Both of you froze as you heard voices heading towards the room. It was Namjoon and Yoongi.
"Namjoon, urin geudeul-i jam-eul jage haeyahae. Yeogin geunyeoui majimag nal-iya. (Namjoon, we should let them have a lay in, it’s her last day.)"
"Hajiman- (But-)"
"Neo geunyeoneun jinan bam-e dol-awass-eul ttae eolmana pigonhaessneunji bosyeossjanh-a. Geu aineun amado geunyeoui chimdaeeseo geunyeoui naemsaega garaanjge hagi wihae ganeunghan han oraesdong-an chimdaee nuwo iss-eul geos-ida. (You saw how tired she was when they came back last night. The kid is probably going to want her in that bed as long as possible so her scent sinks in.)"
Jungkook was quick to lay down properly, scooting closer to bury his nose in the juncture of your neck and shoulder.
"Pretend to sleep." He whispered.
Your eyes fell shut just as you heard the door creak open. Namjoon and Yoongi whispered back and forth, too quiet for you to distinguish anything, for a moment before the door finally clicked shut. He made a soft noise of content.
"Noona does smell nice. I would sleep better if my bed smelled like you."
You giggled and hid your blush by turning your head into his hair, the brown strands tickling your cheeks.
Since you'd been wearing Jungkook's shirts for a week, you were constantly surrounded by the scent of his perfume and loved it. It would be nice if your bed smelled like him too.
"Shame I won't have the same luxury when I sleep in my own bed."
He propped himself up on an elbow to look at you, "If it will help with Noona's sleeping problem I'll happily give you a bottle of my perfume."
You stared at him wide eyed.
"No, no! You don't-"
"I have a few still in their packaging that were gifts from ARMY. You can have one of those."
He offered you a sincere smile which you couldn't help but mirror.
"They're gifts from ARMY. It would be wrong of me to take them."
He thought for a moment.
"You can have the one I've been using while you were here then. You could spray some on your pillows and stuff."
An image of you spraying your whole wardrobe and room with his perfume came to mind making you giggle.
"Thank you, BunBun."
You quickly reached up to press your lips to his cheek, lingering there for possibly a second too long, before settling back into the pillows.
He pressed his own kiss to your forehead, "No problem, Noona. I want you to be happy no matter where you are."
You nodded then glanced across to the dresser that contained things you had yet to pack.
"I should get up. I need to finish packing."
Jungkook's smile morphed into a pout.
"Five more minutes."
He pulled you to his chest and nuzzled the top of your head. You tried to wiggle out of his grip but was met by him tightening his arms around you. You stayed like that for a short while before your stomach rumbled and he sighed.
"I guess we should feed you first."
He let you go and you made your escape, rolling away from him and grabbing your glasses.
You followed him out of the bedroom. The smell of something delicious met your nose but you couldn't put your finger on it. You turned the corner into the kitchen and were met with a shout of "Surprise!" There in front of you were the members, a banner saying "Annyeong Y/N" hung above them.
You didn't have a chance to say anything before Taehyung was dropping his end of the banner, which then fell onto Yoongi's head, and engulfing you in his arms.
"We will miss you!" He mumbled in perfect English.
In a matter of seconds it turned into a group hug, even Yoongi joined in despite how stoic most ARMY perceived him to be. Jin wiggled away first to go and stir a large pot on the stove.
"We made breakfast!" Hoseok said as he grabbed the cutlery from a drawer.
"You eat with us..." Yoongi paused for a brief second, obviously choosing his words, "one last time."
Namjoon proudly patted him on the back then took a seat at the table. Jungkook pulled out a seat for you which you gladly took, mouth watering at the sight of all the food laid out on the table.
Namjoon cleared his throat, "The members wanted to learn some English to give you a proper farewell."
Your cheeks had begun to hurt from smiling so much. Their kindness and generosity was truly heartwarming. Even though you'd spent almost every waking moment by Jungkook's side, you were going to miss them too.
Jin and Yoongi went about handing out everyone a steaming bowl of doenjang jjigae (soy bean paste stew). Hoseok followed after handing out small bowls of rice. There was already a spread of banchan (side dishes) that varied in tastes, a majority of them selected to match what foods you liked.
Once every inch of the table was covered by a bowl, you thanked everyone for their hard work and tucked in.
Jungkook shot you a disapproving look when you opted for the chopsticks instead of a fork. He was soon smirking when you failed to grasp even a pinch of rice. You resigned back to your fork.
Jungkook ruffled your hair, "Noona can use chopsticks again when she's all better."
You pouted and used a spoon to scoop up some stew, a lump of tofu being fished out immediately.
You swallowed down the mouthful and got Jin's attention, complimenting his cooking skills. His time spent with the BigHit kitchen staff was well and truly paying off.
"Noona, you'll make him blush." Jungkook giggled around a mouthful of food.
A part of you couldn't believe they had gone through the effort of cooking a breakfast 'feast' and throwing a farewell party. It was touching. You tried to hold back more tears as members idly chatted amongst each other, bringing you into the conversations. You were in the middle of talking to Namjoon about the course you would be taking at university when you felt something warm brush against the back of your hand that rest by your glass on the table.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Jungkook watching you while tracing soothing circles over your skin. You shot him a quick smile of gratitude. He was always able to read you.
Plates were emptied quicker than you thought possible. Jimin excitedly pulled you out of your seat, "We brought gift for you."
He led you by the wrist into the living room, everyone trailing behind. You were made to sit on the sofa and waited while he disappeared to retrieve said gift.
A gasp left your lips at the sight of him wheeling in a bright yellow suitcase with Pikachu's face on the front.
"You guys..."
Hoseok placed a hand on your shoulder, "We saw you... given lots stuff... no fit in suitcase. We got you case number 2 to fit."
You went over to the suitcase and spun it, giggling when you noticed the tail on the back.
"Open it."
You led the suitcase flat and unzipped it to find a plastic bag filled with a variety of snacks including the instant noodles you'd enjoyed a few nights ago. A smile stretched across your face as you stood up and hugged them all one by one. But you couldn't help noticing Jungkook frowning at his phone.
"What's wrong BunBun?"
"People on Twitter have announced that you're leaving today. They even figured out what airport since there's only one in Seoul that offers flights to Britain."
He read out a few tweets from ARMY who planned on visiting the airport to 'catch a glimpse of the infamous English tutor'.
Your stomach began to turn at the thought of a huge crowd gathering at the airport. Jungkook placed a comforting hand on your knee while turning to Namjoon.
"Hyung, what do we do?"
He appeared to ponder for a minute.
"I think it would be best if you went with her to the airport and we stay behind. If we all went like we planned it would draw too much attention."
The rest of the members agreed. Hoseok even apologised on behalf of ARMY. But it wasn't their fault. And you couldn't really blame the fans for getting excited about the news. You were just grateful they hadn't heard about you staying in the dorms.
"I'll update the managers and see if we can organise better security," Namjoon said, taking out his phone and rising to his feet. "Why don't you get ready and finish packing."
You couldn't believe they had done so much for you. They let you stay in their home, visit their work, thrown you a leaving party and bought you gifts. Now they were going to extra lengths to make sure you were safe.
"I'll accompany Noona to departures to make sure she's safe before boarding."
It was your turn to frown, "You need a ticket to get into the departures lounge."
"I'll buy one then."
"But what if the flight is fully booked?"
Jungkook shrugged, seemingly unworried that his plan might be flawed.
"If it is I'll ask airport security to escort me in and out. I'll comply by any means as long as I get to go there with you."
"You're impossibly stubborn."
"I know. Now let's go pack your things."
Jungkook was acting extra clingy the entire journey to the airport. If he wasn't holding your hand he was leaning against you with his head on your shoulder. This you didn't mind. You soaked up all the attention you could get.
You also couldn't help but notice how antsy he was acting. He would fidget in his seat every five minutes, unable to keep still. But it's not like you were any better, tugging at your seatbelt and picking at your clothes. You even unlinked your fingers with him just to re-entwine them.
You were nervous.
Nervous about the ARMYs who would show up. What they would say and/or do. What if it was sasaengs who showed up and they tried to attack you? What if Jungkook ended up getting hurt? What if they began to hate him because of you?
You were pulled out of your thoughts when the sound of a phone ringing almost made you jump out of your skin. The manager in the passenger seat took the call and then turned to the two of you. He explained that security had agreed to let Jungkook accompany you to departures since you had a history of anxiety. A wave of relief washed over you.
"I didn't even know that was a thing that was allowed."
"To be honest Noona, neither did I."
You chuckled and felt a weight lift off your shoulders.
"I think it would be best if we wore masks into the airport then take them off once we get into the departure lounge since it's unlikely any ARMYs would be back there."
You pulled out your face mask with the whiskers on from the pocket of the hoodie you wore. It was Jungkook's and the one he let you borrow when you spent the day watching anime together. Secretly, you hoped he wouldn't ask for it back. You'd fallen in love with how comfortable it was.
A few minutes later the car slowed to a stop and immediately your heart rate picked up. This was it. You would be leaving in a matter of minutes. Jungkook's hand tightened around yours.
"Don't worry Noona. Everything is going to be fine."
You nodded and gave his hand one final squeeze before fixing your mask into place.
Meanwhile, he put his own mask on then tugged his beanie down over his ears. Even in your own state of panic you couldn't help but admire how handsome he looked in his beanie. It was beyond unfair how attractive a simple hat could be.
You pulled up your hood as Jungkook hopped out of the car and made his way to your door, opening it for you before getting your luggage out of the boot.
Two men appeared by your side, one a manager while the other introduced himself as the security who would escort you to departures. He took one of your cases while Jungkook kept hold of your Pikachu one.
You were unsure as to whether to hold Jungkook's hand. The last thing you wanted was to start a scandal. But he had no worries and entwined your fingers together.
As soon as you turned your attention away from him you noticed a large group of girls holding up banners with his name. And they seem to have spotted you too as they suddenly started screaming in excitement. You saw him cringe at one particular shout of "Jungkook-Oppa!". The manager ushered you forward through the entrance and towards the check-in desk.
You spotted a few people milling about, cameras hooked over their necks with huge lenses attached. All you could hear was the sound of shutters going off and the distant screams of those fans outside. Thank god barely anyone had deemed you important enough to show up. You could handle a few dozen fans.
Once checked in you and Jungkook passed through security with ease and then were led to the departure lounge. Jungkook dragged you (and by extension the security guard) around a few designer shops while you waited for your gate to be announced.
You didn't buy much except a few last snacks to eat on the plane and take home.
After finding your gate, you got comfortable in the seating area watching other passengers board the flight.
Cuddled against Jungkook's side, you made no move to leave. You would wait until the final call announcement allowing you to savour every last second with Jungkook.
The two of you sat in silence, just enjoying each others company when the first announcement was made. You reluctantly stood and shrugged on your backpack, the security guard taking hold of your Pikachu suitcase. Turning to Jungkook you noticed his eyebrows were drawn together in thought.
"Bun-?" You went to ask him what was wrong but were cut off.
"Fuck it." He muttered before grabbing the sides of your face.
You had barely registered his words before his lips met yours, dispelling every single thought from your mind.
You were frozen in shock for a split second. And then, naturally, your eyes fluttered shut as you melted under his touch.
You felt your hood fall down as he tried to limit the amount of distance between you, gently pulling you closer to him. His lips began to move against yours and something wet touched your cheek.
He slowly broke the kiss, forehead coming to rest against yours. You opened your eyes and felt your heart break at the sight of tears trailing down his cheeks.
"G-gaji m-ma! (D-don't g-go!)” He mumbled, "Na-narang gachi y-yeogi isseo... (S-stay here w-with me...)"
You reached up to stroke his tears away, fully aware that your own had started streaming down your face, "Na gaya dwae. Got olkke. (I have to go. I'll be back soon.)" He sniffled, "Ulji ma. Nunmul dakka. (Don't cry. Wipe away your tears.)"
"B-bogo si-sipeo jil k-k-kkeoya. (I'll miss you.)”
Another announcement sounded and you knew if you didn't leave that you would definitely miss your flight.
Just as you stepped out of his embrace he caught your hand.
His eyes searched your face almost desperately and his words had an edge of urgency that you couldn't ignore.
"Spotify! There's a playlist!" He gave your hand one final squeeze. "Please listen to it."
You nodded dumbly.
"Call me when you get back," You nodded again and he placed a kiss on your forehead, "I l-"
"This is the final announcement for flight..."
The security guard ushered you away from Jungkook, making sure you had everything. You looked back to see him wiping more tears away.
Everything hurt. From your broken elbow to your heart. You couldn't even hand your passport and boarding pass over, too busy wiping away tears that refused to stop falling.
With one final glance over your shoulder, you watched Jungkook sink into a seat, shoulders shaking as he cried before you disappeared down the ramp towards the aeroplane.
Putting your phone on flight mode you opened your Spotify to find a playlist titled ‘For Noona’ already downloaded onto it. When did Jungkook do that?
You plugged in your headphones, a small giggle leaving you when you noticed the amount of GOT7 on the playlist. Is this what he wanted Yugyeom's help with?
Underneath the playlist title, you spotted a note telling you to listen to the songs in the order they appeared.
So, turning off shuffle, you pressed play on the first song which just so happened to be She's A Baby by Zico. As soon as the first verse started playing, tears sprung to your eyes again.
'I can't believe it. This is the first time that I poured it out like this. Blunt words, hidden feelings. Figured it out with just one kiss.'
You stifled a giggle at the chorus. Was the man-child himself calling you a baby? He was truly adorable.
But then your heart stopped at what came later in the song.
'Stop saying that you like me. Not too long after. You’re gonna love me a lot.'
Was he blind? Could he not see how much you loved him?
Shifting in your seat, you closed your eyes and enjoyed the song. Your smile returned at the 'I'm your baby' line.
The song came to an end and transitioned into an opening you knew all too well. And once again, you were tearing up at only the first line of Sofa by Crush.
'I'm sitting alone on the sofa where you used to be.'
An image of Jungkook hunched over crying into his hands on the departure lounge seats came to mind. You bit your lip as tears slipped down your cheeks. Jesus Christ, the playlist was making you an emotional mess. You could see the looks you were getting from other passengers in your peripheral vision. Using your sleeve you tried to wipe away your tears. Remembering that it was, in fact, Jungkook's hoodie you were wearing, you tried to calm down by seeing if the material still smelt like him.
The heavenly scent of his perfume made you sigh in relief. You couldn't wait to go home and dig out the bottle he gave you. It would hold prize position on your dresser from now onwards.
By the time the song had come to a close, your crying had subsided.
Your ears were then filled with the sweet piano tune of Just Come To Me by Homme. You laughed out loud. You didn't mean to but did because of the twitter videos BTS uploaded after the song was released. Images of Jungkook, Jimin, Yoongi and Hoseok singing along to the song. Well, more like lip syncing for Yoongi and Hoseok's part.
Your seat neighbour, who had fallen asleep, woke up, startled by the noise. This only made you laugh harder so you bit down on your lip to stop the giggles.
Really Really by Winner was next. A smile was back on your face and you found yourself mouthing the words, knowing every single one.
'Trust in my heart.'
You had a sneaking suspicion that the playlist was trying to convey a message. The next song to come on had your Goblin heart leaping.
'It’s a beautiful life. Beautiful day. I live in your memories. Beautiful life beautiful day. Stay by my side'
Your mouth went dry when you remembered what Jungkook had said to you the day before at breakfast.
'You can support me here in Korea. Beside me.' That and his pleading for you to stay was enough to convince you he was in fact serious. He wanted to be with you.
The final lines of the song once again made you think back to Jungkook sobbing after you left.
'Sorrowful life, sorrowful day. So don’t leave me. So I won’t live just in your memories.'
You hated to think how he must be feeling. He couldn't even watch you as you boarded the plane. Therefore, you made sure to make a mental note that the first thing you did after opening your door would be to ring him. You needed to tell him how you felt. That despite the distance between you, you wouldn't leave him.
The next song was BTS's very own Butterfly.
'You’re just like a Butterfly. From afar, I steal glances; if we touch hands, will I lose you? You shine in this pitch darkness that is the butterfly effect. Your light touches, I forget the reality at once.'
You broke out into a grin, your heart pounding in your chest. Was this really how he felt about you?
Coffee came next which brought back all the memories you had from your two trips to Jungkook's favourite coffee shop.
Then Good Day came on. It was one of their Japanese releases.
'If I’m tied to you, surely it will be a brighter tomorrow.'
You knew it was referring to the red string of fate but you couldn't help the way you sputtered like an idiot at that line. You remembered the way he broke out of his flirty character when he asked you over breakfast one morning if you believed in destiny. The way the corners of his mouth lifted into a small but genuine smile when you said you hoped the red string of fate was real.
You laughed when another song called Beautiful came on but it was a cover Hoseok and the maknae line did on their show Rookie King back in 2013. Jungkook's verse was so cheesy, especially the line 'She’s my religion, so I can call you she-sus'.
Without thinking you pressed the home button on your phone to show your lock screen. You hadn't changed it from when he sneakily made it the selca of him kissing your cheek. What would the shy 2013 Jungkook say if he saw that picture? The small sweet child would've probably died of embarrassment. Unlike the confident man he grew to become who seemed to be all for teasing you and making you flustered.
A wave of pride washed over you as you considered how well he'd grown up. Maybe you were silly for thinking such a thing. But even in the last year or so he'd matured immensely. Perhaps it was about time you stopped calling him a man-child. Yet, the pout he'd perfected was too close to that of a toddler. The nickname would stay.
And then you heard it. His voice. It was his cover of Purpose.
'I put my heart into your hands. Here's my soul to keep. I let you in with all that I can. You're not hard to reach. And you've blessed me with the best gift that I've ever known. You give me purpose.'
Shit. The sniffles came back. Hard.
You shifted to face the window, surprised to see the sun was setting and turning the sky a pretty shade of pink.
'I put my heart into your hands. Learn the lessons you teach. No matter where, wherever I am. You're not hard to reach. And you've given me the best gift that I've ever known. You give me purpose every day. You give me purpose in every way. Oh, you are my everything.’
That little shit. How dare he make you so emotional.
You couldn’t help but cringe when you saw another Justin Bieber song lined up after it. However, you were shocked to hear it, too, was a piano cover.
‘No limit in the sky that I won't fly for ya. No amount of tears in my eyes that I won't cry for ya.’
Holy shit...you shouldn’t have been surprised, being his English tutor and all, but compared to his previous cover, his pronunciation was even more on point. Perfect, even.
‘With every breath that I take, I want you to share that air with me. There's no promise that I won't keep. I'll climb a mountain, there's none too steep.’
You wanted to thank whoever decided to ditch the synth and shit for pure melancholic bliss. It was as if Jungkook’s voice was made for sadder songs such as this.
‘When it comes to you, there's no crime. Let's take both of our souls, and intertwine. When it comes to you, don't be blind.’
You giggled while dabbing at your watery eyes. If that was a dig at your obliviousness he was going to get it.
‘Watch me speak from my heart. When it comes to you, comes to you.’
You shut your eyes and listened to the song, soaking every word up since you’d never heard it before.
And then VIXX's Shangri-La came on. Was there a purpose was there to this playlist? To make you look bi-polar?
Right. No more tears. No more sniffles. You would enjoy the playlist and save the emotions for when you were in your own bed where your only witnesses were your plushies and bear Kookie.
VIXX soon faded out into Crazy in Love by Seventeen. Yep. There was definitely a theme to the playlist. And if the kiss earlier was anything to go by... You've been an idiot. You ignored what was right in front of you because you didn't want to get your hopes up.
"Jungkook is in love with me." You mumbled the words to yourself.
Your heart was hammering against your ribs, those familiar butterflies causing a chaos in your tummy you've never experienced before.
Jeon Jeongguk was in love with you. YOU.
How the fuck did that happen?! He was a member of a world famous K-pop group and you... you were just a student. A nobody. Just his tutor. But there must have been something he saw you in order to develop feelings for you. A reason why he didn't correct people. A reason he nearly called you his girlfriend. A reason why every day out with him felt like a... like a date.
Bangtan even said to you he wasn't necessarily a fan of skinship, but there he was...holding your hand, hugging and cuddling you every opportunity he had. You even spent the week sharing the same bed together for fuck’s sake. And yet you still denied every single sign.
You were going to have to apologise to Chubs when you got back home.
You opened your front door with a bit of difficulty. Your keys were being fiddly bastards and you were a tad distracted.
"Fucking emotional rollercoaster playlist. Fucking evil maknae. Fucking MYTEEN! I just can't escape them, can I?" You made a sound of victory when you finally slid the right key into your door, "Better not tell Chubs or she will be like 'Yuvinie' this and 'Yuvinie' that."
After dragging all of your luggage into your bedroom, you collapsed onto your bed, wincing when pain shot through your arm. You pulled your giant shark plushie from your backpack and nuzzled into it. Jungkook had sprayed some of his perfume onto it so it would smell like him. You had laughed at him for doing so at first but now, whilst cuddling the stuffed toy, you were thankful. But his scent also brought more important matters to the forefront of your mind.
You needed to call Jungkook. To apologise. To tell him how you felt. Finally.
You put down the plushie and picked up your phone to open your skype app but a knocking on your front door interrupted you. The fuck? Who could that be?
Making your way to the door, you quickly looked through the peephole to see who it was. It was a delivery man. UPS. But you didn't order anything...
You slid your phone into your pocket and opened the door. The man handed you a small flat package, like the one’s books or CDs came in. You signed for it, wondering whether you'd ordered something and forgot about it.
You went back into your room, ripping the package open on the way. A piece of paper fell out and...a CD case. Weird.
You picked up the piece of paper and recognised Jungkook's handwriting.
'Noona,
I hope this gets to you at the right time. I sent it so it should arrive on the day you are back in your home country. You may be confused so I'll explain.
The CD is something I've been working on since I first invited you to Korea. Namjoon-Hyung helped me make it. It's made of songs that express all the things I wanted to say to you but couldn't.'
You paused to let out a shaky breath.
'Listen to every song and then check your emails. I left my final surprise there. And only once you've done all that you can call me.
Thank you for putting up with me for the last few months. I've loved every second with you.'
He signed it 'BunBun' and drew a little picture of bunny beside it. You smiled down at the endearing little doodle. Picking up the CD you moved over to your laptop and turned it on, impatiently tapping your fingers on your leg. Once on, you inserted the CD.
Some songs were in Korean while others were in English. It didn't take you long to figure out that the songs told a story from your first meeting up to before your second trip to Korea. But for some reason, there were no songs about your first trip. You dismissed the thought and navigated to your emails where, right at the very top, there was one from a certain GDNo1Fan97. It contained a single link to YouTube.
Your entire body was buzzing with anticipation as the link loaded in a new tab.
And there was Jungkook, sat with a guitar, his eyes slightly red and puffy. He cleared his throat and shifted a bit.
"Hello Y/N... sorry about my face... I erm... My face is still puffy from the airport..." he scratched the back of his neck, "I just got back actually. Anyway, here it is. My final surprise for you. My final song."
He cleared his throat and shifted again, adjusting the guitar. He swallowed, strumming a few single chords before picking up a steady pattern.
'I didn't know when I first saw you,
How much you would change my life.
First you were my teacher,
Then you were my friend.
But I wanted more once again.'
The sniffles had started again and you weren't going to stop them this time. It was the tune he was humming when you woke up on the day you visited BigHit. The one he said he was trying to work out a strum pattern for.
'So I booked you a flight and a hotel to spend the nights.'
You saw a grin began to grow as he sang the next part. The sudden appearance of a photo of you drinking your latte startled you slightly. He must of sneakily taken pictures of you while you weren’t paying attention. And then he went and edited them into the video to make some kind of music video/ slideshow hybrid.
'Coffee we shared and took little sips.
The mug still tasted like your lips.’
The picture faded to you using the claw machine. Your eyebrows were furrowed in concentration.
‘Then we went to the arcade,
There were so many games to play.
It was cute how you complained,
Saying you would never play DDR again.'
His pace slowed for the next two lines. Once again, the picture faded into another. It was a picture of the fair you two went together.
'Then we got there,
To the fairground'
This was it. He was singing about your first trip. You wondered why he'd saved this as your last surprise. Another picture. You were about to throw a ball at one of the stalls.
'Stalls all offering prizes to be won,
I wished for your heart to be one.’
The next picture was you holding Honey - who was just named Bae back then - with a small smile. It was the one he had posted to tumblr.
‘I was your Munui, you were my bae.
Do you remember how Tumblr reacted that day?'
It faded back you him playing. He gave a slight chuckle at that and you giggled at the memories.
'The sky lit up with colour and light,
We went on the ferris wheel to admire the sight.
You looked so beautiful it wasn't fair.
I wanted to kiss you right then and there.'
Your breath caught in your throat.
'Under the fireworks and the starlight,
There was something I wanted to say that night.
But I couldn't.
The ride stopped and the moment was ruined,
I guess I would have to wait.'
You thought back to that night, how close you two were pressed together on the ride, how he'd leaned forward just before the door opened and you were forced to exit.
He wanted to kiss you.
'So I invited you to watch movies,
You were in your panda onesie.
We bickered and joked,
I called you cute and my finger broke.
But even when you broke me,
Your smile is what I wanted to see.'
"It wasn't broken!... Just dislocated..."
He gulped, seemingly trying to steady his nerves.
'You write about me,
I'll write about you.
Though what I've written is far more innocent. It's true.'
...Did... did he read the smut that you wrote? DID HE LIE ABOUT HOW MUCH OF BUNBUN HE READ?!
'I guess what I'm trying to say,
What I've been wanting to say,
Is that,
Noona, I love you.'
He strummed a few more chords before looking back up at the camera with glassy eyes.
He loved you.
The words were on the tip of your tongue, but you wouldn't say them yet. The first time you said them you wanted it to be to him.
You dug out your phone, cursing when your shaking fingers typed in your password wrong. Finally, you got it unlocked. Quicker than a flash, you had skype open and tapped to video call him. It only rung once before he answered. His eyes were still puffy and there were traces of tears down his cheeks. You didn't wait for him to talk.
"I love you too you fucking idiot!"
He must've been lying down for the background shifted around him as he sat up.
"I love yo-u." His voice cracked on the last word and you wanted nothing more than to crawl through the screen and wrap your arms around him. "I'm sorry it took me so long to tell you."
"Why did it take you so long to tell me?"
He scratched the back of his neck while his cheeks tinted red, "Because I came up with a stupidly elaborate plan that became harder and harder to stick to while you were here..."
Pieces of the puzzle you didn't even know existed started to fall into place. That would mean...
"The kiss..."
"I couldn't let you go without doing something." He ran his sleeve beneath his eyes, removing the last traces of his tears. "And since I couldn't tell you my feelings... I had to show you."
He nearly said something back in the airport before being cut off by the final announcement of your flight.
"You almost told me though."
He nodded, "I'm kinda glad that the flight announcement cut me off or all the effort put into my plan would have been for nothing."
"And the Spotify playlist?"
"A warm up for the plan. I was hoping you would catch on to the theme..."
"I WAS SUCH AN EMOTIONAL WRECK I LOOKED INSANE!"
He chuckled, "Sorry, Noona."
"And did you have to put fucking MYTEEN on there?! I went from crying to fangirling in a split second!"
There was some rustling and you noticed he'd led back down, Honey tucked under his arm.
He frowned slightly, "Chubs suggested it... you fangirled over them? Does that mean you have a bias?"
Fucking Chubs... wait... That meant Chubs knew about this whole elaborate plan and she didn't fucking tell you!
"Chubs knew?!"
"Who's your bias?!"
Ignoring his words you asked again.
"Chubs knew about this whole thing?!"
He nodded, "Ye, but who's your bias?"
That little...grrr!! The entire time she'd been telling you Jungkook reciprocated your feelings yet you were adamant she was wrong and only saying it because she was your friend.
"Wow... I really am oblivious."
Embarrassment filled you and made you flush. Jungkook chuckled and shook his head.
"Ye, you are but I was using that to my advantage... now tell me who your MYTEEN bias is."
It was your turn to frown, "Why do you want to know?"
"They're my competition for your attention."
"There is no competition. I love you."
"So tell me who they are~" He sounded like a whining child.
You folded your arms, well, arm.
"Didn't Chubs tell you?"
"She specifically told me to ask you." She was dead meat. "So who is it?!!"
"Yuvin."
His eyes blew wide and he sat bolt upright, "THE 98 LINER?! HE'S NEARLY TWO YEARS YOUNGER THAN YOU NOONA!"
"I know! I'm not proud of it! There's a saying that you don't choose your bias, your bias chooses you. Anyway, I have a limit. Anyone over a year younger than me is a no go."
"... I was nearly too young..."
You nodded and gave him a bright smile, "But you're not so stop pouting. Forget about Yuvin. I love you."
He grumbled yet smiled coyly. "I like hearing you say that."
"If you had told me sooner I could've told you in person."
"I was trying to be romantic!"
You giggled. It was fun to wind him up.
"I know. And truth be told, after seeing your lock screen I dared to hope you had feelings for me..."
He raised an eyebrow, "That was when you started thinking..." He ran a hand through his hair, "You didn't think that maybe all those times I didn't correct people when they mistook us for a couple was because I wanted to believe it was true?"
You bit your lip and shrugged.
"I didn't want to get my hopes up just in case you were just being friendly. That's why I couldn't tell you how I felt. I was afraid you'd reject me..."
"Noona is not as clever as I thought..." he bit his lip, hesitating for a moment as if he debating what he was about to say but before he could open his mouth you heard his name being called. "Ah. I have to go, Jagi. The members want me."
Your heart rate picked up at the simple term of endearment.
"Jagi? I thought I was Noona."
He shot you a cheeky grin and kissed his front facing camera, "I love you Y/N-noona. Annyeong."
"I love you too, BunBun."
He gave you a cute wave and then cut the call.
The time showed it was late, so you grabbed a clean pair of pyjama shorts and a vest to sleep in.
You were pulling the hoodie back on after changing when you heard your phone ping. Expecting it to be Jungkook, you eagerly grabbed it off the desk and unlocked it.
Oh. It was Chubs.
You opened your KKT chat with her to see a photo of you and Jungkook kissing in the airport. Shit. It was swiftly followed by a message.
'Congrats on the Jungcock! But...did you know you're currently going viral?'
A/N: MWAHAHAHAHAHA! We decided to be evil! Hehe. Once you guys have calmed down you can listen to Kookie's playlist for his Noona >here<. There's also a poll we want you to participate in which is about the possibility of a Jungkook POV which can be found >here<.
