Before Maeve was a Grand Prix show jumper, she got her start with cobs. As a teenager, she owned Eunique Foxrock Round, or "Foxy", a sweet buckskin mare. Foxy and Maeve were staples on the local circuits, dabbling in all sorts of disciplines together.

Maeve and her dear friend Mallory West (@sycstud) were taking a walk down memory lane and uncovered this photo from Maeve's younger days with the much beloved Foxy.

Would you be interested in talking more about She Who Became the Sun’s weirdness? I was really intrigued to read it, partially because it’s rare to see modern fiction that includes eunuchs. Shame that it grossed you out :(

I haven't finished it bc i had many other books to read lol but

the MC is a girl who cross dresses as a man in medieval china. when she's doing this she on several occasions meets a general who is a eunuch. she spends her whole pov thinking about how 1. the eunuchs girly womanly face betrays his body (unclear whether anyone but her best friend has worked out she's a girl or whether her body betrays her in any way at all or if that's eunique, if you will, to eunuchs) 2. about how there's a powerful feeling of like calling to like bc voluntary cross dressing is the same thing as surgical intervention that was likely not his own choice.

the eunuch also gets pov chapters and spends the whole time thinking about how disgusting he is as a mutilated freak and how horrible he is and how he'll never be as strong and powerful as a real man and he keeps staring at his commanders dick and like thinking about how he'll never have one like it or have like. any relationships. and like. man

i don't know exactly how historically accurate that is - most of the eunuch stuff i know about is ANE, i know in china and ancient islam they did different medical procedures but i don't know that much about them - but it is deeply, profoundly yucky and disgusting to read. i don't like it! i guess maybe it might improve over time but i am a transsexual reader and it's off putting. (if anyone who has read it can let me know whether the eunuch stays scheming and evil throughout i would appreciate it)

bathroom doors ar eunique in the sense that, unlike other doors where it not opening and the knob not moving might indicate it is locked, it is imperative you body slam the door full force multiple times if it doesnt open to make sure. especially if you hear movement like flushing or handwashing in a single stall bathroom. if you cant get in they cant get out and you need to rescue them

A year, a whole year. Hard to imagine that one year ago to the day I was booting up stream for my first proper shake and howdy with the world as Me. A lot has happened over these following months. Some bad, a lot good. While I wish could've streamed today and made all my gratitude known, I did manage to record a video capturing a bit of what I feel. You both struggle slightly, so Helaena takes great pride in cooling you down and feeding you small treats

As you finally reach the end, you set up a cute picknick

You brought Helaena some binoculars, but instead of looking out into the sea or searching for ants, she has decided to look at your freckles

The day is well spent and you return back to the Red Keep both smiling like Cheshire cats, promising eachother that you should do it again

The whole of King's Landing was sizzling in the mid-summer heat

Ser Otto Hightower, ever the busy hand, has decided he couldn't continue working in this heat, unless someone could cool him down

Helaena suggested you, a daughter of a relatively small noble house from the north, to fan him during his work, which he gladly accepted

At the beginning, you just stood next to his lavish desk and rhythmically fanned him, staring out of the window

But the longer you stood there, you started looking at him, his hands and at the way he concentrated on the page

You were sure that he was oblivious to your presence until he wordlessly got his servant's attention and gestured to you

The servant tried his hardest to gently dab away the sweat which has formed on your face and chest, yet he only managed to give you red streaks on your face from the rough towel

After a few moments, Otto looked up at you and harshly sent the servant out and wordlessly grabbed his own kerchief and wet it with water, cooling you down

In the next few days, he quietly and gently cooled you down once in a while, his hands staying on your skin only seconds longer than the should be

Unsurprisingly, when the heat wave ended, he still required your services... which you gladly provided him, he's the Hand, after all :D

A stay in an all-inclusive hotel

That's all you've been dreaming about in the last year

So when you decide to check out the beach, you're in heaven

Especially when you see a beautiful tanned man with luscious black hair laying next to you

Throughout the day, you notice his hidden glances, so you continually try to lower your bikini

He 'just so happens' to then work out not far from you, directly in your line of sight

So when he's back, you try your best to... enjoy... your ice cream

You see him blushing furiously

While he's in the ocean, you take your chance and quickly write your room number and name on a piece of paper

Before you head out to dinner, you hear a knock on your door, so you rush out to greet him

He gives you a small smile and offers to accompany you

The dinner is nice, you get to know him - he's a Bodyguard of the Targaryens

You both go for some cocktails and spend the night together

The next morning, he leaves a note saying that he has to go back to his duties and leaves you his number

You knew that Luke's family was rich and had a pool, but had no clue it was that gargantuan

So when Luke came up to greet you and pulled two great carboard boxes behind him, you knew sometihng was up

Of course, you had to kiss him first and jump into the pool to cool off

But then...

He walked out of the pool and threw a pump at you!

"It's time to work, babe!"

So you blow up a big plastic blob, which turns out to be a huge pink giraffe floatie - one that matched his green one

He grins like a madman, throws his floatie onto the water and tries landing on it, only to bounce off of it

You rescue him like a lady in shining armour ... uh... bikini and pepper his face with kisses
