idk if this makes sense. but i kind of love that the last of us makes me cry and viscerally FEEL true emotions on a weekly basis. like i cant remember the last tv show i watched that had me consistently bawling my eyes out and so immersed in a show because of the characters, the story, the incredibly strong writing, etc. and it doesn't feel manipulative. it just feels profound and beautiful and poetic but also tragic and... human.

#it's a whole spectrum of emotion!!! it's beautifully tragically human!!!! is that not what it is to exist!!!!#and it's therapeutic honestly. to spend like an hour in a world that isnt real but that you can relate aspects of your life to.#and you can just connect to these characters and their experiences and release the emotions that have been building up inside.#i'm sure that if you've played the game you feel this all the more strongly #but as someone who hasn't and went into tlou without prior knowledge #i'm just very pleased with it and idk i love watching a show that can elicit such a strong reaction from me #granted i AM what people would call 'sensitive' and 'emotional' or whatever #but even for me i dont think i've felt quite this intensely about a show - especially not right away during a first season #these are just my half baked thoughts and i definitely could say so much more but i'll leave it here for now #sameera.txt #the last of us

the fact that sonic x shadow generations costs 50 dollars makes me even more confused about the pricing for sonic superstars . because for a second there i thought they were going with the nintendo system of "all our games are 60 dollars now regardless of quality or content" now since frontiers also cost 60 and that price tag felt more reasonable there. but no sxs gens costs 50. which means that 60 Isnt the new default price for sonic games and they actually thought superstars was worth that much. okay

#well maybe it has to do with sxs generations being a remaster with added content instead of a full new game #maybe they thought if they charged too much for it people would just go buy the original sonic generations instead. idk #but also re releases of sonic games arent usually 60 dollars anyway. like origins plus and colors ultimate are both 40 iirc?#im also noticing generations is one of the only sonic games thats not on sale right now when it usually Is on sale for a big discount #so maybe theyre just trying to push people away from generations in general #without outright taking it down since that would be controversial for multiple reasons #anyway. tbh i Am willing to spend 60 dollars on a game but it heavily depends on what game it is #if youre gonna ask for me to spend over 50 dollars on your game it better be a damn good game with plenty of content to play through #like i dont regret spending 60 dollars on frontiers at all. but i felt kinda ripped off with superstars #i might just be biased towards modern sonic though. because i definitely like modern sonic more than classic #but either way. superstars should have cost 30-40 at Most and even that feels like too muhc considering mania is like 20

somehow these current roommates we have are the worst that ive known yet and last semester we literally had a girl who smoked cigs IN her bedroom. list of grievances below lol

#first of all they turn all the lights on all the time. the other day i was hanging out in the living room w one light on bc it was light #enough outside thru the windows and one of them walked in and flipped another light on automatically. then walked through #the living room right to her bedroom... girl youre not even using this room and i was clearly fine with the light level??#they always have all 3 kitchen lights on when they cook and dont turn them off plus none of them have lamps #they all use the Big LED Ceiling Light in their bedrooms which is baffling to us #they dont know how to organize the kitchen and they took up so many of the cabinets with bullshit. like 3 pans here a few plates there #we have like 4 cabinets worth of food and even more of pots and pans and shit bc this is everything we own #and we cant afford to use disposable everything like some of them do #theyre always leaving the fridge open while they cook too and i have to physically hold myself back from becoming my mom #and yelling at them to close the fridge when theyre not actively getting smth out of it!! like theyll stand there cooking and have it open #for 2 minutes straight #theres only room for one water filter pitcher in the fridge and one of them brought a big one which is nice but theyre always forgetting to #refill it which defeats the purpose of even having it #and they always somehow start cooking right when we decide we need to eat #one of them sent this long sort of condescending post abt ants and how it stresses him out when the kitchen is messy so we all need to clean #more and try harder to keep ants away as if 1) ants care at all abt dishes in the sink or stains on the stove and 2) as if the ants will #stop coming around if theres no food out in this building where there are notoriously always ants even on the 4th floor #(we are ground floor this time) and 3) as if he isn't one of the people leaving food around and not taking the trash out #nobody responded to it in the groupchat lmao bc he sounds like a fucking cop!! and is dating an rotc guy??? and also is a streamer or just #likes to play games on vc with friends bc hes always very loudly doing that #but obviously we have sex all the time so we're at a sort of loud noise stalemate where neither of us can complain abt the other #to be clear this is in no way the absolute worst situation theyre nice enough people and havent reported us for anything (they both work for #student housing -_-) and generally things go okay in the apartment #but like. ive never been this annoyed this often with any other roommates #ALSO someone spilled soy sauce all over our designated level of the fridge door where we had all our little bottles of stuff #but also a carton a Paper Carton of milk and a pack of butter standing upright which soaked up the soy sauce and for several days #even after id cleaned the bottom of the carton the best i could i swore it tasted like soy sauce from it soaking into the bottom or smth #but it's still all over everything in there bc it was so much it like. pooled in there and splattered on everything #like. u see that happen u clean it up wtf.??#anyway i just felt like i needed to complain and see if im being silly or if these things really are so annoying

Okay so, my tip for ocṭopath is that, if you're able to afford both, get both, if you can only get one of them, and you've got the money for it, get the second one, unless the characters of the first one appeal to you more.

OT1 isn't a bad game, but OT2 is objectively better in every way imo, and you don't really need to know anything about the first one to play it. If you plan on playing both of them either way, maybe start with OT1 bc it'll feel a lot clunkier if you do it the other way around, since OT2 has a lot of QOL improvements that OT1 doesn't have (like the 3x battlespeed, more varied animations and chapters and fully voiced cutscenes, for example). The characters in both are fun though. OT1 follows the archetypes of the main cast more closely, while OT2 usually tries to subvert them a little more, they're all very charming in their own way!

Anyway sorry for the long ask, but yeah I personally like octọpath a lot, and highly recommend checking it out! If you've got any doubts about whether or not you'd like it, both OT1 AND OT2 have demos you can play first! It's pretty neat

MOST OF IT'S DETERMINED BY WHAT HAPPENS IN YOSHIS ISLAND AND THERES ALTERNATIVE PATHS IF HE WINS OR FAILS!!! GAME OVERS HAVE #CONSEQUENCES THAT BRANCH INTO THEIR OWN TIMELINES MARIO CAN END UP WITH DIFFERENT PARENTS ITS SO COOLLLLLL #and i love how each of the major branches has their own theme like “action hero” is the one with all the gameplay-focused #mainline titles “storied hero” is the one with all the M&L rpgs and more plot-heavier stuff and “blue collar hero” is this third one #with all the donkey kong titles and wackier/arcade titles WHERE i might add his design had a blue shirt and red overalls #and the tl builds off of those games into nsmb so i like to hc that he kept his early 80s design well into the later games <-autistic sorry #AND how thetimelines represent how their different backstories have influenced their personalities and thought processes a little like #what happened to mario in the blue collar branch like he either becomes EVILL!!!! and kidnaps donkey kong leading to dkjr or #divorces peach and has a self isolation arc after nsmb2 whats going on w him...#and i LOVE how all of them have a sort of common event where bowser invades the mushroom kingdom and in each timeline its #represented by a different variation of the original super mario bros game with action hero's event being represented by smb itself #which is fitting since thats the branch where mario and luigi ended up with their intended parents and everything went as planned #and i think a general theme here is that the more things go against intention the sillier it gets dont even get me STARTED on the time #travel shenanigans in bottom right which lead into the handheld remakes i love this so much its unreal #i do wish paper mario wasnt explained away as a dream but like thats its whole other world and art style and itd be difficult #to fit it into one of the major branches so i get why it was done. i probably wouldve just given it its own isolated bubble in the corner #at that rate i probably wouldve added so much more shit to the main tl im talking game&watch games i look at this and i see a pitch #for a full feature length autism production you understand

idk man maybe thats why i have WAY less beef with BotW/TotK's direction than my other superfan pals lol those games literally draw hard on my 3 all time favourite movies (plus other top tiers) and their themes and i adore that and the direction so much

#delete later #god i wish i was neurotypical #found out my flatmate is going to be away for a few days after they left and bc id had no warning my anxiety spiked so hard #that i had such a wave of nausea i had to lie down #idk why that fucking happened. ridiculous. irs not like it really affects that much. just the thing of my home being changed in any way #without warning freaks me the fuck out. couldnt do any work til id laid under my weighted blanket at lunch #and like obvs this is an entirely me thing. i dont expect my flatmates to tell me every detail of what they're doing #not sure how to keep myself from freaking over it though. will think on it #but yeah. if i was neurotypical id be fine. i also want to play ky video games after work but im akways so exhausted that all i can do #is lie in bed under my weighted blanket. it is so frustrating. im so tired. not helped that pain is fucking me up in new ways #so im also upset aboit that. and that christmas is approaching abd that changes the routine completely #and is always overwhelming #but this year im staying home so i will be able to keep it quiet and low key and it'll be just me so i dont have to think about #masking in any way which is kind of nice as even the vibe of Christmas takes a lot oit of me #i enjoy the thought of it and always hate the day. same as my birthday. fun in theory. incredibly stressful actually #idk whether it's work stressing me oit long term but right now any change to what im expecting from my routine is making me #so so so frustrated and upset #i had to go get meds after work on tiesday and became so upset by it that i was awake until 1am and was super nauseous #not enjoying that as a primary symptom of anxiety rn. i find eating hard enough as it is #the hair washing routine has given ne sone stability this week which was very nice abd made me feel calm. abd mt physio routine #the energy it takes to do it is outweighed by the relief i get when ive done that part of my routine and then go to bed #work is hard. working full time is so hard. im coping but not well. defo think i need to try getting regular therapy sessions if only #to help me plan for what i need to do and work through coping strategies bc im really hitting a wall. i need to problem solve all #these things but im so exhausted that i can't. so they just keep piling up
