"Arya wouldn't have been able to survive in KL" is really one of the dumbest fanon takes where you can tell someone only believes it because they like the idea of Arya and Sansa being "exact opposites and perfect complements" (even though it goes against the books). Actual evidence from the books to back it up? Never anywhere to be found despite how confidently people make this claim.

And not only does it severely mischaracterize Arya and ignore what she's been through, it also ignores her importance as a political hostage. The Lannisters weren't searching for her, and lying about having her, for no reason. They needed her because having only one Stark after executing Ned put them in a poor position to negotiate. So Arya would have been more than capable of handling herself (thoroughly shown in her Harrenhal chapters) and the Lannisters would've done everything in their power to keep her alive but, somehow, she wouldn't have been able to survive? It's truly one of those takes that falls apart if you think about it for more than two seconds but apparently, that's too much effort for some people.

You would think that since Bruce and Cass's morals are so aligned I'd be rooting for Bruce in his confrontations against Jason but you'd be wrong. If it's Cass vs Jason I'm team Cass she has the moral high ground and I like her more. If it's Bruce vs Jason neither of them fully have the moral high ground even though technically Bruce and Cass's codes are quite similar. Because unlike Cass Bruce has been used as a mouthpiece by multiple right wing writers and also just plain bad writers to the point that you have to ignore a LOT to simplify his morals down to "Killing bad." Like yeah if Jason's going around murdering people I'm rooting for say, Cass or Dick to take him down. With lots of angst and challenging their codes and making sure everyone has a bad time. But Bruce is just such an asshole and yeah, bad person, in so many other ways. (You can ignore the comics where he's horrible if you want but they exist and there have been so, so many of them it's a consistent character trait post Jason's death. And it's never character assassinating him for anyone else, he's always presented as the Protagonist even when he's going through his edgy punch the kids moments. Which sucks but that's what DC chose.)

And also Jason was sacrificed for Bruce's pain and meant to just stay dead and smeared to let Bruce get the angst without the bad dad allegations so hell yeah son. Come back to life and torment your father. Be more than just a costume in a cave. Just get better comics and better fans because when you're not fighting Bruce you've been Lobdell's pet for so long that most casual readers associate you with his godawful writing right after the UTRH movie.

I've been replaying Devil Survivor and ngl, something about the difference between the way Atsuro and Yuzu interact with Kazuya and how their relationship changes depending on Kazuya's choices during the game drives me feral

Loving someone so much that you would follow them through literal hell just to be the one to support them, versus loving them so much that them changing for the worst feels like they killed the friend you loved to begin with

most of the "ocs" are the customizable protags from the newer games BUT...I do have one (1) original with their own little backstory

uh-ohhh arceus fucked up! when sending the legends protag back to hisui, a few others got warped around in time! and auria was no exception!

auria is originally from hisui, but was sent forward in time (a couple years after ethan/lyra would become champion) and now lives in the woods around ecruteak city in johto. she's now found herself with nothing but a book full of pokemon sketches and notes (her pokedex), the clothes on her back, and her first name...

and her team of course!

in order: sage, spark, splash, sprout, sneaks, scout

but who knows how the people of johto would react to seeing such a strange typhlosion...

(more backstory under the cut) [cw for pokemon death and a lil bit of violence]

auria was always very interested in pokemon and loved researching them and studying them before she was ever discovered and brought in by the survey corps (NOT the galaxy team. it's the team rocket equivalent basically). she had run away from home at a very young age in order to join an expedition team cause it was her live-long dream of finding out what these pokemon were all about. at her age, however, pokemon were more feared than anything else, so she was relied on heavily to do most of the research given her bravery around them. she even made pokeballs by herself, though not nearly as stable or useful as they were once she was taught how to make them properly, but it was basically enough to make others trust her to get the job done

auria put ALL of her time and energy into pokemon, up to the point of barely speaking with other humans over the years, only communicating with her team and other wild pokemon. one of the last pokemon she caught for her team was...a shy, terrified teddiursa. auria didn't want to force it to be a part of her team, so she offered it food and let it be afterwards. with this act of kindness, the teddiursa started coming back for more food, and eventually learned to trust auria and stay with her. auria decided to name the little teddiursa "sweetie"

she did everything for her team, though sweetie was basically the runt of the team...it hardly fought due to its fear and anxiety, but that didn't stop auria from loving it as much as the rest of her pokemon. while the others evolved and got stronger...sweetie stayed at a lower level and continued to be small. auria was basically carrying it around like a baby for a majority of their time together, but this wasn't necessarily a bad thing by any means

one day, while auria and her team were sound asleep at their campsite, some researchers from the survey corps had snuck up on them. auria was bonding with these "dangerous beasts" WAY too easily, and it led a lot of the team to not trust her anymore, especially considering her lack of communication once she were given the resources to continue her own catching and research on her own terms. so...they had approached the camp with weapons and some of their own pokemon, and sweetie was the only one awake at the time, and jumped out to protect auria. and in its moment of heroism...it evolved into ursaring, letting out a terrifying roar that scared the researchers and woke up auria, just in time for her to witness her precious sweetie...get killed in front of her very eyes.

the anguish she felt...it sent auria over the edge and she screamed, attacking the researchers with her pokemon. they were begging and attempting to say it was a misunderstanding, or that they were just trying to help save her from the dangers of her team...but she didn't give them a chance. after the survey corps members retreated, auria ran off as well with the rest of her team, leaving herself with only her pokemon for comfort, never to be found by the expedition team again

originally, she had planned on getting revenge. she trained her team until all of them were fully evolved and powerful, she found and caught a very high level garchomp and trained it to attack without mercy...it was going scarily well. but then she suddenly found herself feeling dizzy, light-headed...and she woke up in the middle of some unfamiliar woods. she was not in hisui anymore

now, fearful of the unknown, she survives in the woods with her pokemon, and tries to learn about the modern world without being noticed so she can eventually show herself confidently...or find a way back to hisui so she can finish what she started

i really like butcher but i feel like that's a basic answer and also the wrong answer. in another world id like frenchie but i can't get over how much i hate the actor. I love maeve theres never a moment she's on screen where im thinking get this woman outta here she's always entertaining to me. i like starlight but (and this is probably a bit nasty to say) there's smth a little uncanny valley about her sometimes where when she's talking im not listening but staring at her face trying to see what features throwing me off. I hate ashley but the actress played an insufferable character in jessica jones too and I really appreciate her ability to play The Most annoying woman you know.

Good morning. I'm back from my little adventure, last night I celebrated by watching the .hack//GU Trilogy movie and what can I say except tenouttaten, it was not very good as a movie but it did give me exactly what I wanted which was more of my OTP.

My absolute favourite part was the way Aura showed up just to be like "hello little child of Morganna. I'm here to tell you about a law of the universe so you can consciously choose to break it :)". Ovan was so right to call her 'mischievous'.

like here’s the thing, right. when a work like TDP has a variety of races in it, you’re bound to have some fave characters who are white and some who are not. in my past fandoms my fave characters were a dark skinned black man, a dark skinned black woman, and a disabled, mentally ill asian man. if i didn’t have that background in writing subversive fic centred on their experiences, and seeing how their fandoms treated them with varying degrees of racism, stereotypes, and ableism - yeah, i may question my fave being the one (1) white girl amid a main trio of 2/3 boys of colour.

however

representation wise the odds are stacked that you will have more ‘white faves’ than non white faves. certain archetypes also tend to be based more in race than others

however

if you only ever love white characters, and hate the characters of colour that are canonically important or involved in their lives (harrow with viren; terry and callum with claudia; callum and ezran for rayla, etc) i will and am absolutely side eyeing you so hard & sincerely hope you do some major self reflection

we were playing the demo for a centennial case (japanese fmv mystery game) and got jumpscared by airi (from den-o)'s actress. shrimp was like, is that airi it really looks like airi and, yes, it was airi. so i went looking through the rest of the case for toku connections and we then discovered that the protag from gaim is also playing a character, but we haven't seen gaim (other than ep 1) so we just did not recognise him at all
