Okay after spending ten hours tediously chopping trees, cutting stone, catching bugs and fishing (and selling whatever random tidbits that seemed the most profitable), I finally caved and asked for help from Reddit.

I was like "Hey this game seems a lot like Animal Crossing, but I'm reading that there's a ton of cooking, farming, fishing and mining. What am I missing? Where are the dungeons? How do I craft things? I can't seem to do anything."

Person: Hey, no worries. Do you have access to the dungeons? Do you still have the Moonflower and Cursed Rune? That Cursed Rune has to be cleared and NPC will do it, then you can access the first dungeon. Did you bring items to NPC?

Me, sheepishly: No... um, I didn't realize that was important. I just tucked it away somewhere to deal with it as a quest later.

OMG.

TEN HOURS LATER

and I can FINALLY PLAY THE GAME PROPERLY.

Everafter Falls Launch Date Announcement

Akupara Games and SquareHusky Games' Everafter Falls is a farming sim in which you discover that your previous life was a simulation. You wake up to Everafter Falls where you will farm, fish, forage, and fight as well as make friends and help the townspeople with their problems and explore four different dungeons.

Everafter Falls launches for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG on June 20, 2024.
