I can't quite explain, but——I feel warm here (tumblr). I feel appreciated and human here, in a way I haven't felt on other social media platforms before.
Maybe it's the different algorithm, maybe it's the more intentionally mixed-media nature of the site, maybe it's the borderline anarchistic queerness (I mean this in the most positive way possible——tumblr helped me find the vocab I needed to explain how I fit into the world a long time ago), the open neurodiversity and visible disabilities, the shamelessness in fixations and fandom, but regardless——
It's warm.
I like the way people reblog things. The little comments, unrestrained enthusiasm and sympathetic anger. Adding my work to their personalised collection of gay art and disabled screaming.
Things feel slower here. A normal pace of "slower". They're not wildly sped up and demanding 24/7 content, and refreshing and refreshing and refreshing. It's not crawling with twenty second videos that lead to infinite pages of more twenty second videos. I'm not punished for keeping my face and body hidden, or for not posting every single day. I don't feel like my attention is being manipulated and milked for ad time. I don't feel like I'm being aggressively influenced. I don't feel like I'd have to pay money if I ever wanted to be seen; the tags just work and people like to share.
And it's nice. It's so nice. Why did it take me so long to come back? Why did it take me five years to come back, just to realise that this is The Good Site for me?
It feels intuitive now, as though I should have known. As though, I was silly for not knowing.
And I'm probably missing something. I'm probably not using this site the best I could, or failing to understand some mechanics. But that's fine. That's absolutely fine.
Anyway, thank you.
Thank you for the feral excitement, the info dumps, the headcanons, the keysmashes, the AAAAAAAA, the praise, and the "is there more?" of it all buried in my post reblogs, replies, and dms. Thank you. Really, I mean it. Thank you.

Writer asks 4, 6, 7, 13, 14, 29, 34 🤩
4 & 6 answered here
7. What's the story or fic that you're most excited to work on or share next year?
hands down a million percent its my messy rwrb rpf fic. i'm gonna give this one a working title since i've started posting about it - we'll call it disaster for now. this tasty little idea grew legs and carried me away, and now i've got 20 fucking chapters plotted. WHO AM I. i've only got about 3k written, but i've done a lot of prep work, so i'm hoping to start posting this one in january or february but it really depends how much time i have to write. i won't finish it before i start posting but i want to have a LOT of it done, and i'm a long ways off from that. if anybody is into this pairing or actor rpf in general feel free to come scream at me about it this fic consumes at least 50% of my waking thoughts.
13. What story haunts you when you try to sleep at night?
i'm not sure how to interpret this question. the fic i can't stop thinking about, brainstorming, visualizing scenes is disaster. every commute, when i'm trying to go to sleep, etc etc... i'm thinking about this fic and coming up with a new little thing i want to throw in there.
the fic that haunts me because i never wrote it is the buddie fic i was planning to write for the buddie big bang in 2022, shadow, but we ended up moving halfway across the country instead, and i never came back to it. it's plotted, i love the central idea, but i'm not sure i have the motivation to write something that long for buddie, at least not right now. but never say never. there's some snippets and teasers and even some incredible art in my #shadow tag.
14. How many wips are you taking into next year?
2 that i am currently actively working on (disaster and firstprince exes). i've got 2 tknp fics that i've worked on recently that i think/hope i'll finish. we'll leave it at that for now 😬
29. What was the funniest comment or piece of feedback that you received?
hmm i did love this one: OH YOU'RE SICK from @bigassbowlingballhead and you yelling at me for NOT running into a hot hockey player in an airport and hooking up in an airport bathroom despite the promises made by be cool. all the feral screeching about didn't think i liked cowboys was pretty fun too 🤣
i DO have an all time favorite comment although i think its from last year but i can't find it right now. it's someone trying to scream JESUS CHRIST at me but just its a mess of keysmashes and half words it's so great 🥰
34. What's the weirdest thing you researched for a fic?
probably all the obscure saints i researched for forgive me, father. all the oc's have saint's names bc i went HARD on the catholic trauma in this one :)

[This post updates constantly!]
HEY EVERY !!
–My name is Half-Price, but you can call me Price, Mello, or Kālā too!
–He/Him primarily, I also use Xe/Xem and They/Them
–17!!
–Asian/Pacific Islander, predominantly Kanaka Hawaiʻi. Aloha kākou! ʻŌlelo au i ka ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi, akā ʻaʻole nui loa... ke ʻaʻo nei au. (I speak Hawaiian, but not much... I'm still learning.)
–DNI: Basic criteria, NSFW/Fetish blogs, proshippers.
–Depending on my mood I may type in all lowercase (or all uppercase), keysmash, and sometimes use emojis/kaomojis ٩( ᐛ )و
–I bounce between hyperfixations, but the ones currently invading my mine are:
• Spamton G Spamton (Deltarune)
• Glam (Metal Family) [Main Hyperfixation!! But I'm scared to consider myself part of the fandom because the more I look into it the weirder it fucking gets.]
• Hunter/The Golden Guard (The Owl House)
• Simon Petrikov (Adventure Time/Fionna and Cake)
You'll mainly see Spamton, but I will occasionally draw other hyperfixations, or maybe my sona.
–I mainly draw! Sometimes I animate, too. I also love roleplay and writing, but I'm too shy to share that ^^;
–Ask box is always open and I love asks/comments/etc!! In fact I BEG you to give me asks /hj. You can ask me things or I can make Spamton reply instead if you'd like to know more about him. I might take a while to respond because I'm nervous ANSJSSJSJ and I take even longer if it's a request (which I don't mind! I enjoy y'all wanting to see content of my Spammy). Sometimes I may not answer your question at all if it's out of my skill level or something I legitimately cannot answer, I'm sorry!
–I have bad paranoia and anxiety online so I have a hard time reaching out to others, and I take a while to respond in conversations because I take a while to formulate something to say. I'm honestly scared for my life here LOL I constantly fear saying/doing something wrong or coming off the wrong way!! I wanna make friends/moots but I'm too scared to say hello!! I appreciate all of you, though, and I fanboy over all of your guys's wonderful art. I ramble a lot in the tags whenever I reblog things so please bear with me, I have a lot to say X]
–I tend to disappear randomly for days to weeks at a time. I lose energy and motivation online really easily, or my anxiety flares up and I get scared to do literally ANYTHING online. I get scared to reblog, to post, or even to like things?? And it's often hard for me to come back.
–DO PEOPLE CARE IF OTHERS LIKE/INTERACT WITH THEIR OLD ART?? I scroll through people's older artworks a lot just because I either like seeing the improvement or I'd like to see other posts y'all made, but I accidentally interact with them sometimes when I don't mean to, sorry if I do that– I don't mind if people spam like my art or interact with my old stuff though!
–I'm also on Instagram (same user), but I've become more active here. I love reading the tags on reblogs here they're so funny/nice and I read every single one JAKSJJSKDJS
Here are some some of the tags I use for my posts:
• [HALF-PRICED SPAMTON] ; Art I make of Spamton!
• [THIS IS 4 ME?!] ; Art people have made for me! I love you guys nasksnssjdn ;;
• [PRICE SPEAKS] ; Answers to asks!
• [PRICE RAMBLES] ; Posts without art, literally just silly little rambles!
• [COME BACK SOON] ; WIPs and unfinished projects.
Anyway that's it for now! Thank you for reading this, you're cool :]

Different Love Languages
✨COMMENTS+REBLOGS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED✨  They motivate me and make me supes happy, so please pretty please reblog and/or comment!! It doesnt even have to be a coherent comment, keysmash if you must! ok fanks go read now and enjoy <3
Summary: Hufflepuff is the type of person to express her love verbally but Slytherin is different; he hardly says “I love you” and Hufflepuff worries that maybe it’s because he doesn’t love her as much as she loves him. Our darling puff will realize that this is simply not the case. People just have different love languages.
Hufflepuff loved Slytherin. She really did. In fact, she reminded him frequently.
“I love you,” she chortled during breakfast when Slytherin had cast a spell to make the bacon strips float around in a dancing manner so that she would cheer up after reading depressing news from the Daily Prophet. Another time, she cooed the term of endearment as he held her tightly in his arms, swaying to the sound of music in the background.
The thing was that Slytherin rarely said “I love you” in the entirety of their relationship. Instead of saying it back to her, he often replied by cupping her cheeks tenderly and leaning in for another kiss. Other times, he responded with a loving smile, his eyes glowing with warmth and infatuation.
It’s not that Hufflepuff thought Slytherin didn’t love her. She could definitely see it in the way that he looked at her, in those stolen glances when he thought she wasn’t looking. She could feel it when he held her close at night, his arms wrapped protectively around her.
However, a part of her- the small shadow of doubt within her heart that told her that Slytherin didn’t care for her as much as she did for him- just wished for some kind of affirmation, a clear signal that said, “I love you.”
One day, Hufflepuff and Slytherin sat side by side in Potions class, listening to Professor Slughorn drone on and on about Felix Felicis. She was absentmindedly staring at the board when Slytherin slid his notes in front of her so that she could see the doodle he drew on the side of his paper.

Hufflepuff bit her lip to suppress a laugh and squeezed his hand 3 times.
Unfamiliar with the motion, Slytherin asked what the squeezes meant.
“It means I love you,” she whispered. Her voice was soft so that Professor Slughorn didn’t overhear their conversation.
Nevertheless, Slytherin heard every word. A smile tugged at his lips and he immediately squeezed it back. He didn’t just stop there; he repeated the gesture about 6 times- and Potions class hadn’t even ended yet.
From that day forward, Slytherin constantly told her I love you. Sometimes he squeezed her hand randomly- before he left for Quidditch practice, during breakfast when she passed him a plate of toast, and after he walked her back to the dormitory.
Aside from that, he would occasionally tap out the gesture with his finger.
Tap tap tap.
Hufflepuff looked up from her book and made eye contact with Slytherin from across the room. She knew what it meant. She always did.
Slytherin said I love you all the time now, more often than Hufflepuff’s verbal “I love you”.
She realized that he had a different love language from her, and that was ok. It was the love itself that mattered.
On their wedding day, as the officiant performed the ceremony, Hufflepuff looked up at Slytherin with adoration. “I love you,” she whispered.
He smiled warmly at her and squeezed her hand four times.
I love you too.

Author’s note: YAYAY HI!!! DID YOU LIKE THAT??
Tumblr media
probably yall @ me rn lmaoaoao
You might be wondering why i wrote this one-shot. There was no special occasion this time, I just got a bonk of inspiration one day. also i felt bad for reblogging my ice skating oneshot so much (i did it to respond to other peoples reblogs) and i sent an ask to my favorite fanfic writer, asking her about what happens if i reblog my own work and if it pushes my fanfic up the algorithm, and she answered my question but also said that she usually deletes her reblogs bc her followers would probably get annoyed if they kept seeing the same work over and over again. i felt bad bc i had just done that, and i didnt want yall to constantly see the same fanfic all the time, so i wanted to give u something new. also i was thinking back on that person who said that my writing was sporadic (they werent trying to be mean). Sporadic basically means spaced out and occuring at different intervals. i felt bad bc my writing is definitely spread out by one month for some reason. im not sure what this means for next month bc i never write 2 fanfics in one month. does this mean that i wont write a fanfic for november? hopefully not. ok that sounds sad, im sure it doesnt but who knows bc the college process thingies is killing me
I wrote out the general details of the story at 1 am one night when i was trying to sleep lmaoao heres a screenshot:
Tumblr media
This is basically how I write for most of my fanfics at first, it consists of the general info along with some specific details.
At first, the one-shot was gonna be a drabble (aka a story that’s only 100 words long) but when I finished writing it, I went to wordcounter to check the number of words and it was 500! i was like oop ok im just gonna call it a oneshot then. i wrote part of the story on sunday morning and then i went to exercise in the park with my sister. afterwards, i wanted to keep working on it but then i became swamped with college stuff so i stopped. i started writing again today (its monday, but im posting it on tuesday, aka today for you- or maybe not if ur not reading this on the day that i posted it) and i surprisingly finished- but that was probably a bad idea to be writing the oneshot during this week because i have a lot of exams, but lets look at the bright side, i finished the story!
I didn’t think of the idea completely on my own. I actually read the reddit story (found it in a thread on insta) a few years ago, and I don’t know why but I was thinking about it that night and I decided to make a one-shot out of it! Isn’t it such a sweet story (the actual story, not this)?? It would be kinda nice if I reached out to the person and said, hey i wrote a story based on you and ur husband!
Anyways, I just made a meme:
Tumblr media
i didnt actually get up, i just opened the notes app on my phone in the dark and wrote the details down.
this isn’t related but i made a meme about the ice skating oneshot:
Tumblr media
I’m gonna cut the authors note short (i usually write a lot. its funny when u go back and see my authors note in chapter 1 of the slytherpuff series, bc its so so short. wowza, times have rlly changed!) bc i think i have at least 2 exams tomorrow. this is gonna be me when i post this one-shot in the morning:
Tumblr media
bc i have to wake up early and i am most definitely not a morning person:/ OH GOD OK I HAVE TO STUDY NOW-
Love you all, thank you for reading! TOODELOOOOOOO
Let me know if you want to be added or removed from the tag list!

Hi I had a question but idk if you'll be able to answer? I was going to post a little mini-fic I wrote but my writing sideblog has literally 2 followers lol. Do you have suggestions as to how to tag the post? Whenever I make standard #loz #botw etc. etc. posts they get like.. At most 7 notes lmao. How would I tag zelda writing properly to get it more attention? I know you post fics so I was curious tysm
Okay, so the answer to this is...complicated.
A few weeks ago, I was exactly where you are. I have 300+ followers now (milestone, woo!), but that's because my breakdown post got me a HUGE audience, and my theories resonated with a lot of people who stuck around after that.
So, if you want an audience on Tumblr, there's a couple of things you should do.
Pick a theme and stick to it. If you're posting about a bunch of topics all at once, like reblogging serious news, talking about mcyt, ranting, then posting fanfiction, it's going to be hard to get an audience that goes to you for anything specific. My blog is mostly Zelda-themed, because that's what people who followed me for the breakdown post followed me for. That's not to say that I can't post about other things, but 90% of my content should be along those lines, that way people know what they're signing up for.
Consistency is key. If you only post once a week, people aren't going to recognize your username, icon, or content style when it shows up on their dash. For all they know, you're just another reblog from someone they followed 2 years ago and forgot about. Try to at least reblog stuff that follows the theme you're going for; if you post a Skyward Sword fanfic, go through the Skyward Sword tags (best advice is to go under the Recents tab, because those are people that are for sure active) and reblog stuff that catches your fancy.
Build a community. No, seriously. It's surprisingly easy to do; find a popular post in the vein of content you like, go through the notes, and follow the most recent likes and reblogs. Not only do you fill up your dash so you don't have to wait an hour between getting new content to look at, but you also get a handful of follow-backs! Just make sure that you unfollow people who put bad stuff on your dash after; not all people in the fandom have the same beliefs as you do, and it's up to you to curate your social media experience.
Keep variety in mind. I know I just said to pick a theme, but you have to explore the FACETS of that theme. Like, I post Zelda fanfiction. But I ALSO post Zelda theories, Zelda breakdowns, Zelda wishlists, and I reblog a lot of Zelda art.
Another important note: When you reblog something, add fun tags! It makes people's day, just like comments do! A keysmash, a "this looks really cool," a "hey op you made me cry," something like that goes a long way! HOWEVER If you're looking for quick validation on your fics without a lot of followers, then Tumblr is not the place to post it. Getting your content out there REQUIRES followers to make sure it circulates; you can't count on it being a 1-hit wonder like the spicy takes with 10k notes. Those are outliers, not the norm. If you want to get your fic out there, I recommend building a backlog of about 3-4 chapters, then posting every few days on Ao3 or Fanfic net. That's the kind of community that actively seeks out fics, regardless of who comments or likes it. Know your platform, know what you want, and know what your limits are. It takes work and dedication. Good luck!

Yknow. It's time for...rec time.
If you find something you like in this list, please consider leaving 'em a little comment. I happen to know that even a little keysmash would brighten their days. :)
@cluemily writes over at the link below - and she's just wonderful. A few different flavors of fics for you to poke through, and so much good fluff in there too. I've adored every fic she's ever posted - as well as the snippets she provides!
https://archiveofourown.org/users/Cluemily
This fic, at the link below, really deserves so much attention. It's very well written, the characters are wonderful, and I'm so hooked by the story. I really cannot recommend it enough. (May edit this to include author's Tumblr if they'd like, but for now the link to the fic will do.)

@rayveewrites Over at the link below! She's got her fingers in a lot of pies, and is another excellent author! Definitely check her out!

@hisheadhertz writes over at the link below. Again, he's an excellent author with a lot to offer to multiple Fandoms. Can't recommend him enough!

As we aren't mutuals, I don't want to tag their Tumblr account - but I also absolutely adore Runawaybean's Among Us fics. They also write for a few other Fandoms, so if you're a part of those, I can guarantee you'll enjoy what they have to offer!
https://archiveofourown.org/users/RunawayBean
I also highly recommend going and giving @ambathy-arts a read/looksie right here on tumblr. They're also such a good author, and I love being able to read bite size pieces that hit hard and leave you feeling. Also, they do art - and they're a hell of an artist, as well. ;)

hey, i want to pay you a compliment but i don’t want to be weird about it - a guide to interacting with a smut writer
so, recently i got a pretty inappropriate ask and figured this would be something beneficial to share with you all, especially if you’re new to interacting with smut writers or don’t know where the line in. i know it can be kind of intimidating and confusing interacting with smut content when you’re new to it or you’ve never spoken to a writer directly, so i hope this guide can offer you a little bit of perspective.
also, a disclaimer - this is based off of what i consider appropriate. if you’re ever worried, just straight up ask a smut writer about what kind of compliments they like, and what would be considered going too far
what compliments related to their work are ok?
so, for me, i highly prefer literature-related comments, however, general enjoyment comments are good as well! here are some examples of each type:
general enjoyment compliments are your safest bet for any fic. they’re a little basic, but authors will still love to see them in tags, asks, and reviews. they’re a fic writer’s bread and butter, and i’d even go so far to say that almost every smut fic writer would find these appropriate. here are some examples:
i loved this fic so much! you’re an amazing writing and i’m looking forward to reading more of your work
EXCUSE ME WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHT - this was amazing! one of my fav fics of all time, you have so much talent
THANK YOU FOR THE FOOD (insert praying emoji here)
IJBGRJGOTER OP YOU ARE GOING TO K I L L M E
one of these days i am going to pass out from how good your writing is i SWEAR
you can be funny with these, but the general point is just to compliment the writer, tell them that you enjoy their work and that you value the effort they put into the piece. you can find these kinds of compliments on any sort of fic, i just feel like the last couple of really frantic keysmashing ones are far more common on smut fics!
now, on to literary compliments. this section can be a little trickier, since you’re specifically discussing the smutty content of the story, but here are some general themes to keep in mind: characterization, character relationship, plot/setup, author voice, and realism. since you’re complimenting a writer, leaning into literary elements can do you some good in keeping you grounded in the art of their work rather than stepping over the line into inappropriate comments. some examples:
you write him so well! i definitely think he would be a hard dom, and you captured that perfectly! the dialogue... just *chef’s kiss* (characterization)
dude, the relationship between her and y/n is ADORABLE. like yeah, the smut was awesome, as always, but i love how you captured how soft she would be in a relationship, and y/n is so gentle in return... it was just so sweet, i loved it! (relationships)
i don’t know how you do it but you write the BEST setups. i feel like you can write any character in any kink setup and i would just go “yeah, that makes total sense” even if it’s completely implausible. it’s just that good! respect. (setups/plot)
the way you write is so amazing. i love the way you describe everything, it’s so poetic and beautiful. i definitely think it suits the characters, and i love the idea of a sex scene like that being so intimate and beautiful (author voice)
i love that you don’t take everything so seriously! that you write little jokes even in your sex scenes - i hate reading scenes that are super stiff and overly dramatic, and you capture something so fun and sweet when you write, it’s awesome! (author voice)
ok, can i just say i LOVE how realistic your scenes are? like, i love how you include things like foreplay and aftercare and emphasize the playfulness and even the mistakes that can happen when you’re trying something with a partner for the first time. (realism)
i, personally, love literature related comments. i write smut as a form of literature, and even if it isn’t “high art” i do like it when people appreciate the time i take to work on characterization and similar elements
basically, treat a smut fic like any other fic when it comes to writing a compliment. smut can be literary too!
what compliments aren’t ok?
alright, so this is the important section. mostly this relates to personal experiences that are serious and unrelated to the work itself. basically, you’re treating me, the smut writer, like your friend that you share your sexual experiences with. if it doesn’t relate to the character, the fic, or my writing skill, it’s probably not appropriate. some examples
telling me sex acts you did while you read the fic. this is basically the classic “i jacked off to this, it’s sooooo good” comment. some people can jack off to a particularly curvy piece of driftwood - this isn’t a compliment, this is a violation of writer/reader trust. i don’t want to know about your personal sex life
personal sex stories. don’t tell me about how one time you were fucking your bf and it was like this fic i wrote - i don’t care, i don’t want to hear about how you had sex with your bf.
basically any real life, direct connections to you and your sex life that aren’t jokes (i’ll explain this in the next section)
also, a big section of compliments that are always a hard no - shit that relates back to MY sexual expertise. such as “wow you write this so well, you’re probably good in bed” or “wow you’re a freak huh? lmao” don’t fucking perceive me
what personal comments are ok?
so, this section deals with what asks you can send me that aren’t compliments - aka what messages relating to headcanons, your personal life, etc, that you can share with me that may or may not be smut related. this is specific to ME, as in, check in with other smut writers for these things
sharing jokes surrounding your personal life that may be slightly sexual. for example, at one point, i wrote a set of dick headcanons and an anon commented (in a joking way) that i described their bf’s dick perfectly. while this is a sexual comment, the anon didn’t tell me anything about their sex life or sex acts they committed - they just made a joking sexual comment that connected back to their daily life. for me, personally, if it is slightly sexual, but does not involve any actual sex/masturbation acts, it’s fine to joke about with me
in addition to the above, sending in comments like “thanks, bolt, now i have a praise kink” or similar, after i write something about it. they’re joking, and they’re fine to send in to my blog
sending me in smutty headcanons. i LOVE when people send me in smutty headcanons about how a character would act in certain scenarios. so PLEASE feel free to send those
questions about kink, kink culture, or even general sex ed questions. if it’s educational in nature, i would be more than happy to help, but a reminder that i am just a random stranger on the internet. you should probably just ask me what sex pollen is, and not how to fix your sex life lmao
telling me what you would do to a character is fine. like “omg i wanna peg Bolin so bad can you imagine the noises he would make?” is perfectly fine, to me. we’re all thirsting after these characters, and it’s a major subject of the blog, so i don’t mind these asks, especially since sometimes they lead to me writing out some headcanons or fleshing out a certain part of a character
what personal comments aren’t ok?
i covered this mostly in previous sections, but -
discussions of your personal sex life, as in, sex acts you have committed or partaken in, joking or serious. while i am ok with jokes that are vaguely sexual or hold sexual connotations, please don’t reveal details or your personal sex or self-love life to me, even in joke form
anything pertaining to me and my sex life. there’s no need for you to know, and if i wanted to tell you, i would
starting an argument with a smut writer over what they will or will not write. everyone has different limits and boundaries, and some of these choices are shaped by very personal experiences that someone might not want to share, or things they cannot control - such as dysphoria, trauma, or mental illness. if someone’s limits or lack thereof are offensive to you, it is best that you simply block and move on instead of trying to incite an argument.
this isn’t kink related, but most unrelated comments regarding your day/what you did. while it’s nice that you went out and got an iced coffee, i’m a lok writing blog. unless you relate it back to a headcanon you’re sharing with me, or a request you want me to complete, please don’t just tell me about your day (unless we are friends and talking on discord, lol)

if i were to put an image id on my own post, what would be the best way to describe it? like what to put in the id if that makes sense
Usually, it depends on what you're describing. The context is very important. If the people viewing it are intended to notice specific things, those key details are important. For example:
IDs for fanart might usually start off with something like "a traditional/digital drawing, a clay figure, a 2D animation, etc," as you see fit. If the art has lots of detail on the outfit, describe that. Same with color palettes, poses, facial expressions, text, any key details. However, adding excessive amounts of irrelevant details makes it harder for the audience to tell what the focus is. I also prefer to describe any watermarks at the end, but it's not required. Just make sure to specify it's fanart so there's no confusion if it literally happened or not.
IDs for screenshots of tweets or comments usually specify the nickname and username of the poster, date, and content of course. The order of the tweets is also important, especially in situations where someone is quote-retweeting or replying a response. If it can flow like a short conversation, that sounds reasonable. For blogs like mine where we all know the Hermits, just a nickname is alright. The date is appreciated, but specific times don't really need to be added since it's usually inconsistent for other time zones.
Of course, there's still other things that can be described, but those are what I most commonly see.
Adding too many or too little paragraph breaks is another thing to be careful for. Screenreaders can read very quickly, but some prefer to choose lines individually to be read, and having to click a lot isn't ideal. Commas or em dashes are good ways to create separations. Some screen readers pronounce symbols like slashes (which are commonly used to show separation), but even mine doesn't.
I also recommend tagging things like keysmashes, all caps text, lots of emojis/kaomojis, etc. I know some screenreaders pronounce those things differently without the writer intending it to. Even my screen reader pronounces "id" and "ID" differently, as well as certain Hermits' names. Adding punctuation, including capitalization, is very appreciated.
I personally try to format things the same way every time, but there's no "official or required" format. If you accidentally switch it up every now and then, no worries at all! Again, if it gets the point across, it's alright.
I recommend checking out this link, or even looking up tips on tumblr from blogs dedicated to accessibility in general (unlike me, who focuses on a single fandom).
If you'd like me personally to write an ID before you publicly post it, I'd be glad to!

Happy New Year!
It’s been quite a wild ride, huh? I was sorta reflecting on the whole year earlier, and a friend inspired me to write it all out. Without further ado, it’s time to tell you a story.
2019 started off pretty rough for me. My beloved mom had just moved to a different city about an hour away, meaning no more cuddling or crafts projects. It was winter, and it was the midwest, so I never saw the sun. We were in the second semester of school and now I no longer shared as many classes with a close friend. Quite frankly, school was hell. My best friends went to different schools and I almost never got to see them.
I saw a few pretty Minecraft screenshots on my dash here, a joke post referencing a specific aspect of the game here. Out of curiosity, and to spite cringe culture, I started following these blogs.
According to the dates on the pictures in my screenshots folder, I started playing Minecraft like crazy again, after all those years, around late January. The first ever post on this blog supports that.
Just like that, I was a part of mineblr. Here was an entire community of LGBTQ+ people playing, making art for, writing stories about, making memes for Minecraft. I could talk about queer issues and the delight of finding diamonds in the same breath. Personally, my favorite part was finding all the people who openly loved Herobrine as much as I did. It was heaven.
Mid-February I started writing the story that would become We Are The Daylight. It helped me figure out how I wanted to characterize my version of Herobrine, and it kept me afloat during the long school days. It’s the most self-indulgent thing I’ve ever written. I projected all my problems -- my hatred of school, my loneliness, the fear that I’d be in school forever, my hatred of capitalism -- into the story and let a certain white-eyed eldritch being set them on fire.
Around April, I got into Hermitcraft for several months. It was through Hermitcraft that I met the people that would become family to me.
We didn’t know it at the time, as we shyly complimented each other in the art channel of a discord fan server, but we would go through a lot together, and create beautiful things together, and support each other through thick and thin. I love each and every one of you, and I cannot thank you enough for being there, for encouraging all my art, for all the headcanons and ideas and therapy nights.
In July, I let one of my friends read the self-indulgent Herobrine story, which by now was over 30k words. Watching them highlight certain sentences and comment on them, which they did for all seven chapters, honestly kind of changed my life. The idea that someone, anyone, could enjoy my writing that much was flattering of course, but mostly it was completely mind-boggling. I would have never finished NaNoWriMo without that support several months earlier.
In another month I’ll have officially been a part of mineblr for a full year. 2020 is only a few hours away.
I’m more confident and sure of myself than I think I’ve ever been. My art and writing has improved immensely with all the encouragement to create more of it. At the beginning of the year I was terrified of someone finding out that I had a Minecraft sideblog, and now my brand is pegging Herobrine. I’m finally getting started on things I’ve been wanting to do for years, and I’m excited to work on a few projects I have planned for next year.
I know mineblr’s getting a little quieter. School’s started up again, the Minecraft craze is dying down. But I’m not planning on leaving or going inactive any time soon. I still have way too many stories to write (and I’m way too excited for 1.16 to leave now) before I’m going anywhere.
Thank you.
Thank you for everything. For reblogging my art, for tagging my shitposts with keysmashes, for commenting on We Are The Daylight, for asking about my headcanons. You’ve all helped me become a much better person. I’d never be able to do all the cool stuff I’m doing now without you.
To a year of positive change, of support and encouragement and kicking cringe culture in the teeth. I can’t thank you enough.
Wing out!

I mean this genuinely, not enough people comment on works they enjoy, be it fanworks or original, I ain't gonna broad stroke things by saying it's a failing of the viewer because it's kinda not, just kind of a trend I don't prefer.
And maybe that's my rose tinting the past of this site and some others, but I think my point or hope remains despite that.
Commenting in the tags or replies or wherever of a reblog is a kindness, bud.
Saying a few words after reading a fic is just plain nice.
A ridiculously easy thing to do at that, 2 seconds of time, a keysmash, a "Love the colors" tag or something, it's a kindness all the same and makes the exchange a bit more human than a like button or reblog alone can do.
No one expects more, no one really expects anything which is why doing even a little can be meaningful.
I dunno, just been a pretty consistent deal for blogs like this that I've run where people act surprised to hear anything about their work, and that shouldn't be normal.
And I've shared the story before on one of those blogs but like, I get it. From the viewers pov, I get it, I used to comment all the time on like deviant art or whatever, then it just kinda dried up. I thought creators were tired of hearing from viewers, I thought it might be tacky or annoying to tag something as "#Beautiful work on this" or whatever, and I fell into just reblogging stuff I enjoyed, maybe just liking it at my worst.
But that complacency kinda sucks big ones? Like a lot? Like it blends all creators together as a sort of expectation when in reality every single person taking the time to make something is putting their own thoughts, abilities, and energy into it? It's all unique? It's all worth a damn?
But you stick around on a platform a while and start to assume it's all been said before, regardless of if a post has 2 notes or a 100k, you just assume "They heard it all, I like it but who cares, they don't want to know that." and that's just wrong.
Acting like all works are just an expectation, taking THEM for granted when they are CREATING???
I've been there, I don't like that, I think everyone should remind themselves of stuff like that and try to share their thoughts when they can.
It's not an expectation or rule for anyone, no one will be upset if you don't.
It's just a thing I think would be nice to keep in mind, because like I said:
I've run multiple blogs doing what this one is doing right now, and every single one I've run has run into creators who are baffled, touched, and surprised that anyone cares that they made something. And that shouldn't be the case, man.
