a note: i tend to make memes their own thread for the sake of if the other person would like to continue it. memes are far more efficient than starter calls and tend to spark ideas much easier. beyond that, as a person with adhd, i know sometimes the additional step of making a new thread discourages me from continuing memes and i tend to lose motivation just because of that extra button-click. me making a meme its own thread is literally just me trying to give the other person the opportunity to make it a thread if they want to without having to go through the linking and creating step.

I have some really important information that may concern you and a blogger on Tumblr that I think you might know of, or could be mutuals with…
This was an anon send in that can be found on this blog [censored, blogger doesn’t want people to mistake them being part of the drama, and does NOT SUPPORT the following bigoted beliefs]…
ā€œEw, you're collaborating with a white supremacist's best friend?
Just a heads up, but @fangdokja-anon has been called out by multiple authors here for being homophobic, fatphobic, and racist, as well as making multiple problematic posts (like wanting to write about genocide and infant SA). The only person who publicly supported her was @yanderedrabbles who praised her in the comments and even made a post to defend her friendship.
It's your choice to have her as a writer for the zine, but please make it public knowledge so people can at least opt out. I myself won't sign up to share space with a bigot.ā€
Then there was this follow up post by the same anon, who goes into detail of the issues above…
ā€œSorry for the sudden accusatory ask, I'm one of the people who unfollowed @yanderedrabbles after she openly expressed her support for the homophobe and I was annoyed to see her acting so careless on another blog I follow. I guess she's hoping we'll just forget about it at some point and keeps quiet on her main.
Here's the first post where she explained in many empty words she doesn't care about the issue because the blog has been nice to her and they're friends: https://www.tumblr.com/yanderedrabbles/780435897593315328/hi-idk-if-your-mutuals-with-fangdokja-but-shes?source=share
The problematic post on @fangdokja-anon blog has since been deleted or removed, but I have a screenshot of @yanderedrabbles commenting on it with ā€˜THATS why your pro pic went all blurry when I logged in. Literally freaked me out so bad. I'm glad to see you reorganising fang! Gonna learn to use AO3 just for you šŸ˜˜ā€™ while the rest of us were freaking out at the atrocities mentioned.
Instead of coming out and telling us why she chose to publicly support someone who fetishizes stuff like concentration camps and pedophilia she's all giddy about writing for a yandere magazine, like we're dumbasses who'll just swallow up any content. The audacity is amazing.ā€
Hopefully the last follow up post by the anon that goes into some more history/evidence…
ā€œThe post that started this whole drama is from December, but it didn't gain traction until some bigger blogs like ozzgin and moyazaika talked about it, which happened recently. It's still available and you can read it for yourself, including the paragraphs where she explicitly says she doesn't support LGBTQ+ content: https://www.tumblr.com/fangdokja/770117292416712704/blog-rules-guidelines?source=share
The main conclusion from it was that she's (@fangdokja-anon) homophobic, though more people pointed out she's made questionable statements in the past, too. It should've stopped there, but then she made a post basically explaining that she's been gathering an audience so she can switch to different platforms (her website and AO3), where she can finally write without censorship. It was an extremely cringe story about her ā€˜shackles’ coming off, listing a bunch of offensive topics from the Trigger Warning Database and saying that nothing is sacred and she won't hold back. (Yes, it included the part about children and infants not being safe from it) Same blogs called her out again and she proceeded to block everyone who interacted with those posts. I guess a lot of people reported her blog since it's now hidden and tagged as ā€˜mature’, for which she had a meltdown.
Anyway, friend (@fangdokja-anon) is against queer people but you (@yanderedrabbles) argue she's actually kind because you haven't been targeted? Suspicious, but I let it sit.
Friend (@fangdokja-anon) publishes entire paragraphs about wanting to write downright atrocious content and you (@yanderedrabbles) comment how excited you are for it? Yeah, that doesn't work anymore, sorry. You're clearly ok with it and that's fucked up. Go support your cult member somewhere else, not in my gay household.ā€
Since this all seems to be true, please reconsider any relationship you have with @yanderedrabbles and @fangdokja-anon
That's a lot to read and I do not follow these people.

Oh my! Thank you for telling me about this, I had no idea. They will be blocked. This behavior is disgusting - I scanned some of their page now and noticed they posted some really questionable things (like reader only being pale and skinny? lmao yikes). Homophobia or any type of hatred is not something I can accept or stand by.
And to be completely frank and transparent, I wasn't exactly thrilled to be tagged in their mega-recommendations post. I felt like my work was being reduced to just erotica or porn, which honestly hurt me a bit, and to be broadcasted and compared next to other blogs (without being asked first or anything) in the way they did, as if putting us in excel sheets... yeah. But anyways, thanks for bringing this to my attention. time to get even gayer :33

I'm not mutuals with any of the people you mentioned, anon. But I did see what was going on, albeit from the outside because I haven't been online on tumblr lately. I was so disbelieving that I just blocked them and decided not to engage with them. Ah, prejudiced people in the yandere community that have so many topics and subjects that can be explored? I'm not going to lie that THIS took me by surprise.
I'll speak for myself: my blog is a safe space for everyone, regardless of sexuality, gender, religion, or anything. I'm bi myself and have written for sapphic relationships, just as most of my content is gender-neutral so that everyone can identify with it, with no description of the Reader's appearance or gender unless someone specifies it in a request, otherwise it's neutral. Just like the issue of a specific religion or beliefs for a given context, I've written about Christian!Reader once because I was asked to, and I remember receiving something about Atheist!Reader and Jewish!Reader as well. I, Larissa, am agnostic and don't have a specific belief, but I respect all religions and beliefs equally.
As I said, my blog is open to everyone but I do not tolerate, in any way, any kind of hate, homophobia, transphobia and any kind of hatred towards any person or community. So, if you are homophobic or have these kinds of views, please block me.
Just like when I write about Child!Reader is and always will be platonic (I never wrote and I will never write about pedophilia) and the yanderes tend to be more softs because the Reader is a child.
And honestly, in my opinion, why would you be a friend of someone who does not agree with your sexuality or your way of life because of their beliefs? I, unfortunately, have already dealt with many people who said that "God created man and woman the rest is not natural" and I know how it is. And many of them are my relatives, sadly.
With the wave of hate growing more and more towards the queer community, I see it in my country, online, and in other places too, I avoid these as much as possible this kind of things and people. More and more I see queer people being attacked for no reason just for being who they are. And that's so fucking sad and wrong!
Anyway, I just wanted to say these things. I'm not spreading hate towards anyone because I don't do that, but it's sad to see that we're increasingly regressing and the hatred towards queer people is increasing more and more, instead of people opening their minds and understanding that human beings have been queer since the beginning of humanity.

I'm someone who tries to avoid conflict as much as possible, but this is something I will not ignore.
People have a right to their opinions-that's something you can't argue with. So, just as FD has a right to theirs, I have a right to mine.
I fully support the LGBTQ community. To my knowledge, I have never read or interacted with their account. I was mutuals with Yanderedrabbles, and while I understand their argument, I do not completely agree with it.
As someone who grew up in an extremely Baptist, homophobic household, I know how hurtful even the "smallest" anti-queer statement can be. As for the infant SA, that’s just wrong. Really wrong.
I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. I try my best to be as open-minded as possible, and I hope my statement reflects that!
I do not know these people personally, so please keep that in mind!!!

i am honestly not sure how to respond to this, but i will try to be as aware as possible. while i understand that people have their own opinions, this is something i just do not agree with.
thank you for informing me!! im sorry if my message regarding this situation is short, i was hesitant to reply at first because i tend to stay away from conflict but i realise that this is serious and i shouldn't ignore it 😭. i will try to be as knowledgeable as i can.

UGH FAWKK tumblr did it again omgg, I swearrr they have it out for us cuz this literally ONLY happens with you 😭. Tbf I use the browser version and is probably worse than the mobile lowkey and why its so wonky sometimes, and I absolutely REFUSEE to do tumblr on my laptop it's probably the supreme way but I just can't do it I can't STANDD how it looks in there. BUT ANYWAYSSS, you're soooo welcomee and thank you! šŸ’—šŸ’—šŸ’— Seriously this means sooo much to me 🄹🄹 like omg, especially since you were the main one got me onto tumblr. I've always known about it obvi but I was mostly a surface level lurker for years (not counting the couple of accounts that I created over the years, used for like 5 minutes, and then abandoned lol), I think it was just something about tumblr intimated me maybe it was the ui or something idk šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø. But you were literally the first person that I had EVER actually sent a request or anything to and made me give tumblr a chance. And I'm glad I did otherwise I wouldn't have been in such a small but kind and tightnit community with such amazing people, and even other fandoms big or small ā˜ŗļø<333. Ive always wanted to participate and interact with other fans of shows/movies/etc but was always too scared and shy to do it. I do feel bad though cuz Archie and his characters have been put in the backburner in my brain for my newest obsession: DEGRASSIII so I haven't checked in on you guys in a good while šŸ˜“ (side note: I'm currently watching the og degrassi first but I've been trying to buy the degrassi next gen dvds cuz I LOVEEE collecting physical media and lemme tell you IM LEGIT FIGHTING FOR MY LIFEEE MAN. I either can't find any, their on some sketchy website, sold out, terrible conditions, missing disks, going 300+ for the full collection, or some other bullshit. And when I FINALLY found a few decent box sets for a slightly expensive but decent price EBAY WOULDN'T LET ME FUCKING BUY THEMM LIKE I CAN NEVER CATCH A DAMN BREAK)
You can just call me jj btw!!! Sorry for the rambling, VERY bad habit lol, but yeah ily sooo much pookie and I'll always keep supporting you and everyone!! You da bestMWAHHH
Tumblr media
HEY JJ !!! AH IVE MISSED YOUUUU im so glad you actually came back and talk to me again. and oh im using the mobile for talks and updates and notifs get lost A LOT. i always miss when you guys say anything as if its not enough that i always miss when you guys are active šŸ˜€šŸ’”. i totally get you about the intimidating ui cuz thats what i feel about the desktop version. especially those blogs that are sooo pretty and decorated like ACTUAL blogs i feel like they could tell i know how to do NONE of that 😭.
you could always participate girly !! and talk to others on here i can say theyre all so chill and if anyone is mean to you im gonna act the big sister cuz why would they be ?? this fandom is small enough without anyone bullying others off of it. and i love how our community is so small and so close and it feels like a friend group. if it makes you feel better this is my first actual writing blog too !! i wasn’t always a writer but you guys are so supportive that i actually want to publish my writing.
when u said im the first person you’ve ever sent anything ever on here i legit went like ā˜¹ļøā˜¹ļø cuz LITTLE OL’ ME ??? i just want everyone to feel warm and welcomed to talk to me. i WANT you to talk to me. tumblrs honestly an amazing place cuz everyones so nice and supportive ā¤ļøā¤ļø you dont have to be shy at all. there’s this one time months ago when archie wouldn’t post ANYTHING and without new materials it was hard for me to get inspired for anything so i totally get why archie’s been on the back burner for you. good news is lurkers coming so !!
so excited for your current obsession though tbh ive never heard of it hehe. but !! here’s a little some some from me :)

This person @moyazaika goes into more lengthy detail too of what @fangdokja-anon writes and supports. And remember, @yanderedrabbles also supports @fangdokja-anon
😭🤧
Good afternoon lol. Anyway- no I’m not mutuals nor do I follow any of these people

Hi friends! Today I wanted to write a little nostalgia post about Pixie Hollow. How many of you remember discovering this beautiful fairy flash game world on Disney.com? Can't wait to find out!
Now, why don't you let me walk you through some of my own favourite things about Pixie Hollow? As you know, the website closed down many years ago, something that was increbily sad. Fortunately, I've been able to find some screenshots and music from the game and have collected them here for all of us to enjoy.
Tumblr media
I remember the excitement to make my first very own fairy! I could never choose what talent to pick... I think I chose light in the end, but was also very torn between animal and garden. All the options looked sooo enticing! I know water was also a very popular choice. Let me know what talent you chose!
Tumblr media
I loved exploring the interactive map. You could literally go anywhere... Fly, sit, emote, talk to people and gather resources (sometimes fight for them haha). The different zones belonged to the four seasons and had their own unique music and all of them were beautiful and enchanting!
Tumblr media
One of my favourite locations to hang out at was Cherryblossom Heights in the Spring Valley. It had such lovely music and atmosphere. In fact, all the places in Pixie Hollow were entirely unique and magical.
Psst! Click the picture to hear and see the zone again.
Tumblr media
Another amazing thing about this game were the mini games. My personal favourite, Tinker Toss:
Tumblr media
If you're wondering if there's any way to relive the magic after Pixie Hollow shut down, there's still this website called We The Pixies that allows you to create your own fairy and fly around a bit.
Wanna play We The Pixies together?

i’m gay and can’t resist the opportunity to be sappy so here’s a january 1st post to let all of my mutuals know that you are loved by me whether you like it or not and that i’m grateful for every single one of you and am looking forward to getting to know you more in 2024!
when i returned to this rpc after a year long hiatus where a lot of stuff was just going wrong in my life, i was a little nervous that i’d have trouble finding interactions and building relationships both ic and ooc. it was a little difficult at first, but i’m so thankful i stuck it out because right around the corner were some very cool & special people who are not only talented writers and masters of characterization, but genuinely kind & fun people to talk to & get to know.
this post is dedicated to all of my lovely mutuals whether we’ve written together for months or u just followed me today, but there are a few people i want to be gay toward individually under the cut šŸ„³šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆšŸ©·
@vialaviolenza / @valoroso : my beloved mortis!! you were my first new friend that i made upon the end of my hiatus & i adore you to the moon & back. i knew you were special from the moment i found out you basically live a stone’s throw away from me lol but more than that, you have been such a blessing to me. you’re always willing to listen to my ramblings & crazy ideas & our threads are always fuckin based, so you genuinely have it all & i’m excited for us to become closer in this new year!! šŸ’ššŸ’ššŸ’š
@lovesigned : bella, i’m kissing u. i remember when you first followed me and we messaged back and forth about how we loved each other’s writing and were fucking nerds about classical allusions & mythology & all that. even now i’m still in awe of how beautifully your prose reads btw. but beyond that you’re probably the funniest person on this website & going absolutely feral with u is always a good time lmfao. i love everything we’ve ever plotted and written and i will love everything we will plot and write in the new year. u are so sexy and cool mwah
@blueshiftting : MEME MY BELOVED u are genuinely the sweetest person ever in the world and you deserve every good thing ever in the new year. not to mention cordelia is a baddie & the immaculate energy you have created for her is untouchable, truly one of the most well-written ocs i’ve encountered. i owe u my life for making the fuckhouse server because it’s always such a vibe in there & it’s been great getting closer to everyone in there, including you.
@rejectshumanity : the coolest person on this website actually,,, but also a total sweetie that i’ve loved every second of talking to. dani when i say i stan you heavily i mean it you genuinely have Thee best take on dio & manage to blend the serious & unserious parts of his character immaculately. i’m excited for when ur inspiration returns to you because i think we all want to see how you will absolutely kill it in the 2024 season lol. either way, you’re a gem & i’m looking forward to growing our friendship in the new year!!
@praeteritus-memories : lu … u are my homie fr like the only constant thing in my life in this rpc for the past 3 (ALMOST 4???) years. coming back to writing with you again has been like returning to a warm hug which i really fucking needed after everything i went through in 2022-23 😭 i love everything we do together & everything we explore in our threads, they’re always a blast & i’m relieved we cannot always pick up where we left off without things being awkward lol. i hope this year treats you kindly, you deserve it luv 🩷
@ironleonine : GEO MY LOVE IM SO SORRY I KNEW I HAD LEFT SOMEONE OUT THIS IS LESBIAN ON LESBIAN CRIME . anyway you are the literal sweetest, kindest, most fun person to talk to be it ic or ooc. i will start 10 million different threads with you and idc i will love every single one. you have such a talent for bringing your characters to life, i will never NOT enjoy writing with you wtf. our chats are always the best even if they’re full of the most random shit lol i feel like you really understand me & the chaotic chemical soup that is my brain. when i marry you in 2024, what then?

MUN MONDAY: GETTING TO KNOW YOU
Respond to the following prompts out of character, then tag others you'd like to get to know a little bit better!
ROLEPLAYER NAME: my alias is Puffin, folks can call me Selkie tho. both work, I use both, so I'm not particularly picky either way ! whichever folks prefer.
ROLEPLAYER PRONOUNS: anything ! they/she/he, though I default to she/they.
MUSE NAME: I've got two kiddos, Shade and Kaey ! Kaey is my older muse, I've been writing him since 2012, while Shade is a newer edition to my collection of ocs. I love them both, they're both my literal children at this point.
PREFERRED COMMUNICATION: Discord please ! tumblr IMs are just... I lose track of them very easily, probably because they're not like. right in front of me / always where I can see them. whereas in Discord I can keep track of folks and conversations much easier. in general, I just feel more comfortable discussing via Discord. its also good for roleplay, if folks are okay with that ! but yeah, Discord all the way.
EXPERIENCE: I have been roleplaying since I was... I literally just confirmed, at least 10 years old. I started out on forums. ever heard of Chicken Smoothie ? its a pet adoptable website, and where I really got into roleplay. from there I was introduced to tumblr by a friend, discovered tumblr rp, and... I've been here ever since. that was back in 2012; I was just about to turn 13, and I'm currently just about to turn 25, so. I've been here awhile. been writing and roleplaying for over half my life at this point.
PREFERRED ROLEPLAY TYPE: I'm partial to casual discussion style roleplay, but I also really love just. writing. so. it may take some time to get me in the proper headspace to sit down and write, but its always satisfying to be able to. however, casual discussion style is more accessible, definitely. just easier and quicker. but I will always value writing and reading solid threads, solid interactions. seeing it come together, getting excited about it... its what I love about roleplay, and I wouldn't trade it for anything, even if other things are easier or faster. nothing good comes easy, or so they say, right ? idk. I'm old-fashioned I guess.
PET PEEVES & DEALBREAKERS: oof, lets see. immediate dealbreakers: no trigger or nsfw tags (especially if there is nothing that says there won't be; I can understand some blogs preferring not to tag if its standard content), no rules or about, posting callouts and witch hunting behavior (ESPECIALLY if its just interpersonal or petty grievances, I have ZERO tolerance for this). pet peeves... I'm pretty chill. just treat me with respect, communicate with me like an adult, and we'll be fine.
PLOTS OR MEMES: yes ? but like, logically speaking... memes are more likely to happen with me than plots, cuz I'm slow and struggle with that kind of pressure. so memes are probably the best way, yeah. but low / no pressure casual discussion ? vibing until we figure something out ? sign me the fuck up !
LONG REPLIES OR SHORT REPLIES: another yes. it really depends, I feel like I fall somewhere in the middle. a couple short paragraphs is my default, but I know for some folks thats considered long, and for others still short. so. I'm dynamic. I'll admit that I'm wordy, I like fleshing out interactions with thoughts and actions when I can, so I would say I'm probably more inclined to long style. I know I've started a few short dialogue threads then ended up getting 1+ paragraph responses, so. but I also don't expect my partners to match length ! idc if other people write short replies, so long as I have something to build off of. "yes, and" rules and all that !
BEST TIME TO WRITE: when the world is dark and sleeping. or when the moon aligns with my medication and energy levels. so... mostly at night. I get a lot of stuff done in the dark of night; I don't feel like I'm being perceived by my family so I feel free to move around and do more tbh. less distractions, too.
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES: yes. not intentionally, but yes. Shade moreso than Kaey, but Kaey and I still have similarities. I think most writers bleed into their work somehow, and I don't think its something to be ashamed of. for me its. I write and create to cope, right ? so having characters I can relate to, that I can see myself in, helps me... feel better about things. like, if Shade and Kaey can do stuff then I can to ! plus, I won't lie, seeing myself in my muses also helps for introspection. I genuinely feel like I've been able to become a better person by acknowledging my similarities and learning from them, whether through interaction or otherwise. and, of course, the reverse is also true: I learn a lot about Kaey and Shade by exploring my own identity and perspective and how I interact with the world and others.
tagged by: no one, I stole it tagging: @triinitas @anishael @starlixir @asangel @p-aladin @bloodyarn @bloodtwin @elliscousland @kurjaks @never-surrender

Teaching Arabic for Kids: A Fun and Rewarding Experience
Teaching Arabic for kids is an exciting and enriching journey that can open doors to a new world of language, culture, and understanding. Arabic is a beautiful language, spoken by millions of people across the globe, and learning it at a young age can be incredibly beneficial. Not only does it help kids connect with a diverse range of cultures, but it also lays the foundation for understanding the Quran, one of the most important texts in the world.
One of the biggest advantages of teaching Arabic to kids is that it introduces them to the rich history and traditions of Arabic-speaking countries. As they learn the language, children also begin to explore the culture, art, and values associated with it. Through simple stories, songs, and games, children can learn the basics of Arabic in an enjoyable way.
When it comes to teaching Arabic, especially for younger kids, it's essential to make the learning process engaging and interactive. Kids are naturally curious, and when you present language lessons in a playful and hands-on manner, they are more likely to stay interested and motivated. You can start with simple vocabulary, such as greetings, colors, and numbers, and gradually move on to more complex sentences as they become more comfortable with the language.
Using visual aids, such as flashcards and picture books, can also make learning easier and more enjoyable. Associating words with pictures helps children understand their meaning and remember them more effectively. Additionally, integrating Arabic into daily routines—like naming objects around the house or singing simple Arabic songs—can help children practice the language in a natural and practical way.
For those who want to take it a step further, especially when introducing kids to the Quran, resources like Riwaq Al Quran can be an excellent option. This website offers Quranic lessons specifically designed for kids, making it easier for them to learn and understand the sacred text in its original language. The platform provides a user-friendly experience and is tailored to meet the needs of young learners.
Another important aspect of teaching Arabic for kids is focusing on pronunciation. Arabic letters and sounds can be quite different from those in English, so children will need some practice to get them right. Teaching them how to properly pronounce letters, especially the unique sounds in Arabic, will help them not only in speaking but also in reading and writing.
Consistency is key when teaching any language, including Arabic. Setting aside a few minutes every day for language practice can make a huge difference in your child’s progress. Small, regular lessons are often more effective than long, infrequent sessions. As children continue learning, they will become more confident in using the language.
In conclusion, teaching Arabic for kids is a rewarding experience that opens up new worlds for them to explore. It’s not just about learning a language but about gaining a deeper understanding of the culture, religion, and history behind it. With the right approach, such as using engaging tools and platforms like Riwaq Al Quran, children can enjoy the process of learning Arabic while building a strong foundation for their future.

Okay, first off- thank you so much for responding eeee!! I literally got so excited when I saw this last night! Second! I was reading your writing tips [and now I’m gonna try and enter NaNoWriMo this coming November] but I would still love a little help :DĀ
I was hoping I could maybe hear more about how you got people’s attention / what your main reading resources are that developed your amazing writing; and how you were able to partner with other writers for the first time?? Like, how did those interactions transition to trusting relationships? :>
I’ve been a fanfic writer since I was 11, and I started looking into being an original writer this last year. I’ve admired the fanfic writing community since I was 11, but I’ve never tried reaching out, until now.
So this really meant the world to me that you responded :> :) :D
I have so many ideas, but I have a really hard time with writing more than one beginning-or-end chapter.Ā
So I had thought, maybe learning how you got to where you are, would show me the way.Ā
-Thank you for listening to me ramble. lol.Ā
Good luck with NaNoWriMo! It's going to be quite the trip, but hopefully it'll be fun as a whole. Be sure to sign up on the official website!
As for how to get attention... honestly it's a mix of skill and luck. It's hard to coach anyone how to do that because it's all about having the ability to write something good while ALSO landing in a spot where people are able to actually get a chance to see your work. I posted lfls when the fanfic scene of Rise of the TMNT was very small; it was one of the few plot-driven longer fics of the time, so it was easy for people to notice it. And once it was noticed and talked about in that smaller circle of fans, as the fandom's size exploded it was already easy to find for newcomers that wanted to try reading Rise fics so it was just yanked up there with that wave. I couldn't recreate that situation if I tried. But if you get your storytelling ability up to a certain standard, I think you'll at least find some people out there that will be excited to read your work. I can't promise it would be in fandom famous amounts, but you never know! Hopefully the luck aspect will happen for you, too.
Most of the chances I've had at teaming up with other writers and artists was because my work was already known. I've been approached multiple times because people who I admired noticed me following them on social media and since they liked my own work or even just knew of my reputation, wanted to become friends (and vice versa!). And I find that that's actually a really good way to make friends, if you happen to be in that situation! We both are intimidated by each other for a good three days and then two weeks later I'm making fun of them for being short on Twitter (I'm sorry Pen, True, and Andy lol). It's easier for me to take that step into connecting with people I admire when I kind of know they are also a bit scared of me in the same way, haha. Any other times I've met people is by becoming friends in larger fandom discord servers, which is also a great way. Just be careful and follow the standard online safety rules.
For resources, I just read a lot as a kid. Like a book every two days. I also was active writing online, of course, and read fanfics a lot. And then I also majored in Creative Writing in college. Personally I think actual classes help some, but the best thing was actually posting my work and seeing what kind of reception it got and judging how to push that even farther from there. I would also see what kind of language I liked or disliked from a wide variety of fics and books, including the classic ones I read during high school. I have a scathing hatred of Faulkner and took NOTES on how to avoid his style lol.
After that... I think you're mostly getting at that you want a road map of my little journey, so sure! Here's some highlights.
As a kid, I spent most afternoons at a friend's house. We would staple paper together and make little comics. Mine were mostly bad Warrior Cats fanfiction.
2009-2012 I was active on a virtual pet website called Chicken Smoothie (yes that's the name. What About It) with an active forum area. There was a lot of little roleplays I joined there, and often contests to adopt character designs would include a writing section. The friends I made there and whatnot really started me on creating characters and trying to write more often. I even started my own original story there based on some of the pet designs.
2012(?) I posted my first official fanfic online. It was called I Must Be Dreaming and has since been deleted from everywhere except my old personal files. It was about a main character being brainwashed into joining the villains in an old anime series (sound familiar?)
2013 I posted and finished a fanfic called Shadows of Pride for Fullmetal Alchemist. It was seven chapters and 27k words in total. The main thing I learned from this one was how to plan a story out and complete it. This was also the first year I entered NaNoWriMo for an original 50k novel called Wide Awake.
2015 was the Undertale period for me. I got up to top 10 ranked Undertale fanfics on fanfic.net, and finished a full longer story- Over and Over, which was around 64k. I also wrote some shorter ones, but that was the only one of note. After that year, I transferred to ao3 as my home base for fanfic.
2017 beat NaNoWriMo again with another 50k original story titled Lights Out.
2018/19 I worked on a My Hero Academia fanfic called Way Out of Character. I never finished this one, but I absolutely learned more about manipulating how I utilized POV in my writing.
2020 I started Like Father Like Son.

KNOWING YOUR PARTNER WELL CAN POTENTIALLY MAKE WRITING TOGETHER A LOT EASIER. ( REPOST DO NOT REBLOG ! )
ā—‹ Ā  Ā name: Brittany, or you can call me Britt.
ā—‹ Ā  Ā pronouns: she/her.
ā—‹ Ā  Ā preference of communication: just tumblr pms. I do have discord I have a few people on there, but right on tumblr is just better and easier lol
ā—‹ Ā  Ā  name of muse(s): on this blog, it's just Bailey
ā—‹ Ā  Ā experience/how long (months/years?): I've been writing for a long ass time I just don't know how long lol, I want to say at least since 2015, but honestly, probably longer than that. I haven't been consistently roleplaying in all those years, lots of on and off, but yeah
ā—‹ Ā  Ā platforms you’ve used: like a bunch of random roleplay websites, but ever since I joined tumblr I've never looked back
ā—‹ Ā  Ā best experience: okay honestly I think right now is my best experience I mean, I've been on tumblr a long time but since coming back after a two year gap during lovely covid, everything has been just extra fantastic. I've met back up with people I used to write with, I've met so many amazing people and I just couldn't possibly feel more welcome and more excited to write with everyone. I just love it here lol, everybody here is what makes being here such a great experience
ā—‹ Ā  Ā rp pet peeves / dealbreakers: I mean, this is actually kinda hard. It is a little frustrating when people follow me or follow me back and then never interact cause I get stupid happy when I see new followers. This rarely happens but it still did happen..... People who tell me they know nothing about my character and ask me to tell them about my muse, and their excuse is "well she's an oc," as if my blog isn't flooding with information about my muse. I guess not really roleplay specific but, it's definitely annoying when people complain about things other people in the rpc do when it's literally like, like it doesn't matter it's this innocent thing but for some reason they're treating it like it's a crime. Biggest dealbreaker is not respecting my boundaries and just being rude, or passively rude. Like seriously just be nice and compassionate and we good
ā—‹ Ā  Ā fluff, angst, or smut: fluff and angst. I don't like smut, I don't care about smut, I just... have zero interest. And Bailey is 14 years old anyways so like, jfc no. Even with muses of age, no smut. Angst and fluff though yesyes
ā—‹ Ā  Ā plots or memes: I am literally the absolute worst when it comes to plotting. My brain is just, it don't function that way? Me and plot ideas do not have a good relationship at all. That doesn't mean I won't plot at all, I will, if that is what people want. But I always tell people and I put it in my rules that I am literally so terrible and please don't get mad at me if I can't think of anything lol. So obviously I love just winging it, and I really love memes and continuing from memes cause they help give ideas!
ā—‹ Ā  Ā long or short replies: I feel like I mostly do 3 or 4 paragraphs. I try to match what my partner writes. I think I can write more than that if I try, but I don't want to overwhelm anyone so I try matching what they write. It also depends on the reply because sometimes depending on what's going on I can write more or can't figure out how to write more
ā—‹ Ā  Ā best time to write: I have no life whatsoever so my best time to write is literally just whenever the heck. All of the times.
ā—‹ Ā  Ā are you like your muse(s): In some ways? I think we both enjoy the word fuck oop, but she's definitely more confident than I am and won't hesitate to punch you in the face with her knife whereas I am scared of my own shadow... But we both love stuffed animals. I have a huge collection of plushies and she's really attached to her stuffed bear.

Summary: Spring has sprung and business is booming and the community is celebrating with a weekend long festival... that you get to spend attending a vendors booth next to the handsome baker from down the street
The depths of winter in a place where it snows is not the ideal time to be moving your whole life and business. But you didn’t have much of a choice, you had already gotten the business license taken care of, the storefront purchased, and suppliers lined up. And with the lease on your apartment being up, it’s now or never. So with a small moving truck full of your belongings all packed up, you set off towards the city to finally chase your dream of opening a flower shop.
Your new apartment is nice, a bit smaller than your previous one but that comes with living alone in the city on a tight budget. But still it’s a one bedroom and it’s enough for just you. The storefront is beautiful. It’s located downtown in what you had assumed was a historic district of the city, but somehow is not classified as such. The buildings are lovely red brick exterior with large open windows for passers by to peek in, with quaint awnings over every door. Your store is located on the corner, with plenty of space to set up floral displays and hang potted plants in the windows. Come spring time this is going to be amazing, and beautiful and everything you dreamed of. You just hoped that others would think so too and come shop there.
By the time mid February rolls around there is still snow in the mountains, and the occasional rain and snow storm that blows through the area but it’s not as bad as when you first moved. Your apartment is coming along nicely, and your store is looking pretty good as well. You’re hoping to open by March 1st, but that’s still two and half weeks away. You’ve got plenty of time to finish painting, assembling shelves, figuring out how to want to arrange your displays, and set up the black board you’re planning to use to decorate the wall behind the checkout counter. You thought it might be fun to use chalk paint to decorate it for the various seasons, write specials, and do holiday countdowns.
You’re a little frustrated with yourself that you weren’t able to get everything in order to be open this weekend. Valentine’s Day is the prime time of the year for a flower and botanical shop. But spring is coming and that means birthdays, weddings, prom season, graduations, date nights, Mother’s Day and spring decorating! But for today it’s just you, a pair of worn overalls and a sweater, and a little can of paint for detailing the floor boards inside the shop. No flowers or valentines dates for you this year. You did see that there was a nice looking bakery a little ways down the street, maybe you could pick up a little treat for after dinner or some nice bread for making fancy toast.
Just the thought of it makes your mouth water, and your tummy rumble. Maybe you could make it an afternoon snack instead. You cap the lid to the paint bucket, and wash off your hands in the sink in the back. It’s not actively snowing but it is freezing outside, so you pull your jacket on over your sweater and lock the shop up behind you. You steal a quick glance at it, admiring how well it’s coming along, before you tuck your hands into your pockets and make your way down the street to the bakery.
It’s getting on in the afternoon, and the bakery isn’t very busy at the moment. But you’ve seen the lines in the morning when the bread is fresh out of the ovens, hopefully there will be something left for you.
You pull the door to the bakery open and step inside, glancing up at the sound of the tinkling bell that alerts the man behind the counter to your presence. He’s probably the tallest, broadest, burliest man you’ve ever seen; and then he smiles at you. It’s a smile that takes up his whole face, and lights up his eyes.
ā€œHey, welcome inā€ his voice is deep and sweet. You can literally feel your heart skip a beat and you almost forget why you came in here.
ā€œHi, I was hoping you might have some pastries or baguettesā€ you say, approaching the counter. He seems to blank out for a second, because he doesn’t answer you immediately.
ā€œUh- no sorry no pastries. But I do have a couple of French baguettes left,ā€ he says. You’re a little disappointed about the pastries, perhaps you needed to come in earlier in the day. He pulls a baguette from the bread counter and offers it to you in a long parchment bag.
While he rings up your bread, you take the time to look around at his displays and other breads. ā€œWhat’s your specialty?ā€ You find yourself asking, thoroughly impressed with the wide variety he has to offer.
ā€œI’m really proud of my ciabatta rolls,ā€ he says earnestly ā€œbut I’ve been working on a new roasted tomato and herb crusted bread that excited about,ā€
You smile at his enthusiasm, it’s great to see people who are passionate about their craft. ā€œI’ll have to come back and try it when you’ve got it figured out,ā€
You thank the kind man, and step back out into the cold to make your way back to your shop. Instantly you regret not asking for his name, but then again he just works down the street you’ll find out eventually.

February passed by in an overcast and sometimes snowy daze. You are able to meet your deadline and open your new store on March 1st. It’s finally a little sunnier on your opening weekend and just that simple fact has people outside and milling about. People are anxious to usher in spring, and there is no better way to brighten up the tail end of winter than by having fresh flowers, lush green house plants and aesthetically pleasing succulents around to decorate your space. Your entire store front is practically picked bare by the end of your first day! Good thing you get fresh deliveries every day, and have a fully stocked back room to replace all your wares for tomorrow.
Business slows down just a touch, but you’ve still got steady foot traffic for most of the day all through the spring. The weather is warming up, and the days are getting longer. Prom season is coming up and you’ve already pre cutting ribbon and bulk ordering corsage boxes. Graduations will be coming up soon too, you make sure to mark on your calendar when the local schools ceremonies are so you can have bouquets and lei ready in time.
One warm afternoon in April it’s a little slow and you’ve already swept the store, washed the windows inside and out, and potted 15 new plants in the back; so you take a well deserved break by standing behind the counter and reading a book. The bell on the door chimes and you look up to see a woman wearing jeans and a polo shirt with the city logo embroidered on the chest.
ā€œHi my name is Jennifer I’m with the city’s Parks and Recreation department,ā€ she introduces herself and offers her hand to shake. You smile and accept her hand, giving your name as well.
ā€œI’m stopping by all the local businesses to give you thisā€ she hands you a flyer ā€œthe city’s annual spring festival is coming up at the end of May. Traditionally we bring in food trucks and invite arts and crafts vendors from the area to come sell their pieces and get some exposure, in the last couple years we’ve been expanding it to other local businesses too. There’s more information on the website to sign up to get you a booth if you’re interested. I think having a plants and flowers booth would be perfect for the spring festivalā€
She stays to chat about the festival for a couple minutes describing how fun it is to see all the local artists showing their craft, children getting their faces painted, live music, picnicking, and coming together as a community to celebrate the change in seasons.
ā€œThis city really comes alive at community events,ā€ she tells you ā€œFree concerts in the park in the summer, cultural learning events, fun runs, around the holidays we have a big Christmas tree lighting ceremony and winter carnival, don’t even get me started on how much this city goes all out for Halloween!ā€
Jennifir leaves after another couple minutes of excited chatter about the various events put on by the city, and continues on down the street to invite your business neighbors to attend the festival as vendors too. The whole interaction leaves you thrilled at the opportunity to advertise your business, make some more money for the shop, and be part of the community! Your long forgotten book is tucked away in favor of pulling out your laptop to register yourself with the city planning committee to participate in the festival.
The next few weeks you work extra hard to get through prom season, and put in more hours than usual to get everything prepared for graduations as well. The days tick by in May. Mother’s Day is an amazing weekend, you put up a temporary photo shoot wall for mom’s, daughters, grandmothers, or really anyone to come in and take a picture with a flower wall backdrop. Another amazing success full of happy smiling people!
Finally the weekend of the festival arrives, people from the city have been cleaning up the park and working their tails off to get everything perfect for the event. A massive stage is erected in the park, the usual parking lots are lined with enclosed pop up tents for the vendors selling hot foods, extra trash cans are placed everywhere, and early Saturday morning the local businesses are arriving with their SUV’s and vans full of goods to set up their tables.
You are among that crowd. Busily working to get your table set up under a pop up tent for shade, your flowers and potted plants ready for display, making sure you have enough cash for making change in transactions, and cardboard boxes to help people carry their new plant babies home with them.
All around you other local businesses are setting up their booths too. You recognize a few of them that you’ve visited already, but you’re looking forward to seeing more of them. Beside you, you absolutely recognize the tall, broad, and exceptionally handsome man that owns the bakery down the street from you. Spending the whole weekend stuck next to eye candy, and artisan bread… even if you didn’t sell a single flower this weekend at least you’d have a good view.
The morning is warming up, people will be arriving soon, your coffee long since gone. You steal a glance over at the man carefully arranging his bread displays. He glances over at you too, and grins at catching you staring.
ā€œMorning,ā€ he says cheekily
ā€œGood morning,ā€ you reply, going a bit warm in the cheeks.
ā€œFlower booth for a spring festival? I think you’re in the running for making the most profit this weekend,ā€ he jokes looking at your pretty flower displays and cute potted plants. You laughed a little and eyed his selection of breads hungrily
ā€œI dunno, people don’t want to carry around a heavy plant all day. But they do want to snack on some delicious bread,ā€
He laughs, and extends a hand to introduce himself. ā€œI’m Paz by the way,ā€
You shake his large hand and tell him your name as well. It’s a firm handshake, worn hands and strong forearms presumably from kneading bread dough. The thought makes your tummy flutter, and your heartbeat quicken.
And so it begins. The two of you pull up chairs at the edges of your pop up tents, and spend the whole day laughing, talking, interacting with customers and making sales. At the end of the first day, he sends you home with a loaf of bread with Asiago cheese baked into the top, and you gift him a pretty green succulent and promise him they are almost impossible to screw up taking care of.
The second day of the festival is much the same, except this time he brings you a breakfast sandwich he prepared ahead of time.
ā€œIf you wouldn’t mind, I need a taste tester. I’ve been thinking about expanding my menu to add breakfast sandwiches,ā€ he tells you with a shy smile. You gladly accept the sandwich and have to control yourself not to make embarrassing noises when you taste it.
ā€œYou made this from scratch?ā€ You ask, taking another bite
ā€œWell I made the bun,ā€ he says, unwrapping his own homemade breakfast sandwich
ā€œIf you start selling this, I promise you’ll put places like Starbucks out of business,ā€ you tell him ā€œhonestly, I’m gonna have to start coming down there every morning before I open,ā€
In his head, Paz thinks that would be an absolute dream to have you come see him everyday. But that’s not the kind of thing you tell someone you met 24 hours ago, so he settles for something else instead
ā€œHow far is your shop? Maybe you can have your breakfast delivered,ā€
ā€œYou didn’t know?ā€ You ask ā€œI just opened my shop on the far corner of the street your bakery is on. I actually came in to try your bread a couple months ago,ā€
Paz is a little embarrassed, he knew a business moved in down there but had no idea it was your flower shop. ā€œNo way! I remember you coming in to the bakery, but I had no idea you worked down the street,ā€
ā€œTo be fair the store wasn’t open yet, and I somehow managed to forget to introduce myself,ā€ you tell him.
Just like the day before, the two of you spend the day laughing and chatting in between greeting customers and promoting your respective businesses.
In the early afternoon a man with shaggy dark hair, sun glasses, tattoos and a very cute little boy wearing a green bucket hat came over and started making conversation with Paz. He glanced over at you.
ā€œHave you met Din yet?ā€ Paz asks you ā€œHe owns the tattoo parlor across from the bakery,ā€
You smile and shake his hand, you see his little boy eyeing your selection of plants. ā€œDo you want to pick one out buddy?ā€ You ask the little boy, he nods enthusiastically and chooses a little pot with the beginnings of a strawberry plant in it.
ā€œShorty and I were just gonna go grab some funnel cake before we head home for nap, I just stopped by to see if you wanted some,ā€ Din says
ā€œYeah, that would be great!ā€ Paz says.
Din turns to you, and extends the same offer. You politely decline, claiming there’s no way you’d ever finish one on your own.
ā€œYou can split one with me,ā€ Paz beams. Din nods and leads his son off into the crowd to acquire the sweet treats.
ā€œI can’t believe you haven’t met everyone yet,ā€ Paz says ā€œWe all get together on Tuesday nights after hours for beers,ā€
ā€œWho is we exactly?ā€ You ask, sitting back down in the folding chair the festival committee had generously provided.
ā€œMost of the shop owners on our street, and a couple of others from around the corner. They actually convinced me to move out here and start my business a couple years ago,ā€
ā€œI had no idea there was such a community amongst the business owners around here,ā€ you admit.
ā€œYou’ve gotta come meet everyone next week,ā€ he insists ā€œYou’ll fit right in!ā€
Your heart warms at the sentiment. One of your big fears moving to the city was not knowing anyone and struggling to find a new group of friends. This could be promising!
Din and his son make their way back and come sit behind the tables with you and Paz. You and Paz do split the funnel cake, and have a grand time chatting with Din and his little boy.
ā€œYou’re telling me you’ve been in business for three months and haven’t been dragged into the group? You’ve gotta start coming to Tuesday night drinks,ā€ Din laughs
ā€œSo I’ve been told. I think you boys have convinced me, I’ll be there on Tuesday,ā€ you laugh. Paz and Din give a little cheer.
ā€œEveryone will be so excited to meet you! But until then I think the little stinker needs to get home for a nap,ā€ Din says scoops up his sleepy son who’s been dozing in his dad’s lap for the last 15 minutes ā€œI’ll see you Tuesday,ā€
Din gives a one handed wave and disappears back into the crowd.
The remainder of the afternoon is a bit slower, the last remaining festival
ā€œI’ll come down and pick you up so you don’t have to show up on your own,ā€ Paz offers ā€œBesides I need to check out your shop!ā€
ā€œAwe! Thank you, that would be great!ā€ You reply, a subtle warmth blooming in your cheeks at the thought of him coming to visit your shop.
Your heart does somersaults in your chest. He’s so sweet and kind. And he’s inviting you to be part of his friend group. That has to be a good sign, right?

AN: This whole story, but this chapter specifically is very special to me. The city this story takes place in is based off of the two cities I have lived in, in my life. I grew up going to festival that takes place in late spring, that’s really important to the town I was born and grew up in... and the new city that I moved to as an adult is known for its public markets on Saturday’s where local vendors sell their flowers and their baked goods. I am just days away from moving back to my home city (temporarily) and due to covid I didn’t have the opportunity to attend the public market the last two years in a row. I don’t know if I’ll get to participate in the spring festival in my hometown this year.
