”I’m not anti grass I’m anti lawn”
Maybe I’m getting old but I dig this. Once I first learned of invasive species I never liked the manicured lawn again. Was around the age I stated to learn how new a concept it was too, and how disconnected it makes us in other ways. Kill your lawn, plant native species and talk to your neighbors and other people walking across your yard to their destination

Ais: hmmmm....
Umi: kamu kenapa sih, kamu ngga mau nikah apa gimana?
Ais: aku tu bukannya ngga mau nikah, aku juga mau. Aku cuman.... gatau deh
Umi: jangan sampe kayak ... ngejar karir terus sampe lupa nikah, trus keburu berumur
Ais: aku tu bukan karena ngejar karir, aku tu takuuuttt .....
Umi: ...
Ais: ...
Dua pekan ini aku sedang magang di rutan. Kalau dulu aku punya pikiran bahwa aku lebih siap jadi ibu daripada jadi istri, sekarang tidak. Menjadi keduanya, aku belum siap. Cerita-cerita di rutan bikin aku termangu dan banyak berpikir tentang gimana nanti membesarkan anak. Bisa jadi keluarga kami bisa membentengi dia, tapi saat dia berbaur dengan lingkungan, we never know what will happen. Maka benar kata pepatah "it takes a village to raise a child". Bukan hanya ibu. Bukan hanya ayah ibu.
Selain denganmu, aku blm siap. halaah....
Aisy, 22 tahun.

Hello! I recently found a website containing system terms, and found "exosystem" as one of them, with coining credit towards you. The description/explanation of it, however, was mixed with another term, so I couldn't see the explanation of it. If you're able to, could you please explain it? Thank you!!
Desc: A type of Gateway system wherein a couple, many, most, or all system members can travel between systems or different metaphysical planes outside of their headspace.
This term likely does overlap with other terms in some or many ways, but that’s what it means 😌
I hope that helps!

anyway my actual thoughts on the fandom commenting/reblogging/engagement Discourse are, disclaimer, highly colored by me being a natural "write for myself" person by sheer inner nature, but a) it's natural to like/want positive feedback, b) that said some of these posts I see are just "I'll post the next chapter once I get X reviews!" FFNers in a new format, and c) they never would have survived the Geocities webring exosystem. either that or it would be good for them. that's about it

Certainly a normal response to a mild question
For the record, I commented saying “the author is unfairly maligned, the Cormoran Strike books are good, and they’re always checked out at my local library,” adding that the books resemble the works of Dickens imo in that they’re about a whole social exosystem within a bustling metropolis, just as much as they’re mysteries.
These were the comments I got:
Tumblr media
Reddit is a strange place.
And lastly, to the OP, “oh you sweet summer child…”

just wanted to let you know
i really appreciate your existence
(and the fact that you put up with us mortals treading on your soil every day)
you are loved <3
i hope one day we will all learn to take care of you the same way you take care of us
I don't really think about how you feel on me. You're practically so small that I don't even notice you! It's like how humans don't feel the bacteria on them :)
And with the bacteria analogy I think you are kind of like bacteria. Some of you are helpful and actually support my exosystems and some of you exploit me. Good and bad bacteria. There always will be the bad stuff, but I just hope that the good stuff will increase.

I always got the sense that Berocedes are a part of the pack, but in their own unit. Idk how familiar you are with Twilight, but it's like when Edward and Bella get married and have their own house and live by themselves, but they still are part of the larger family. That's how I see Brocedes, especially after they become in-laws with Maxiel+Michael. Like they are their own family, but they exist within the larger pack exosystem. Does Daniel acknowledge Brocedes as a part of the pack
Yes I love this take!!! They're part of the extended pack, they can come by anytime, they are always welcome.
I don't think Nico or Lewis actually want a proper pack, but being associated with one like that is perfect for them. Especially after Leah and Isa get together, they are closer than ever.

I've said it multiple times and it seems i'll keep saying it "FORESTS ARENT PEAK ECOSYSTEMS! THAT IS NOT HOW EXOSYSTEMS WORK! EACH ECOSYSTEM HAS A ROLE AND DOES IT WELL! FORESTS ARENT MORE IMPORTANT THAN DESERTS AND SAME WAY AROUND THAT IS NOT HOW ECOSYSTEMS WORK! DO SOME GOD DAMN RESEARCH!" as well as "APPERCAITE OTHER ECOSYSTEMS THATS NOT A GOD DAMN FOREST! I GET THAT THEY’RE PRETTY BUT FUCKING HELL DESERTS DESERVE JUST AS MUCH LOVE! PRARIES DESERVE JUST AS MUCH LOVE AS FORESTS! SWAPS DESERVE JUST AS MUCH LOVE! FUCK ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE!!!"

SysCourse Myth: 「 Spiritual Plurality 」
☆ DiSCLAiMER ☆ [ please read before engaging ]
✧ — 「 Tulpa =/= Spiritual Plurality 」
Within the plurality community, and even within the scientific community, “tulpa” and associated words have become an umbrella term. In scientific studies and in SysCourse, “tulpa” and “tulpa systems” have come to exclusively mean “created non-traumagenic systems” (and in SysCourse specifically, it tends to mean “Faker” like “endogenic”). “Tulpa” has also come to be the umbrella term for spiritual plurality. Just like with the non-traumagenic experience, tulpamancy isn’t the beginning and end of the spiritual plurality experience, and there’s several ways to be spiritually plural without being involved in tulpamancy.
While the term "tulpa" may come from a term used by Tibetan Monks, and meditation is used during the creation of a tulpa, tulpamancy itself isn't inherently a religious practice. Tulpamancy is simply a way to create endogenic headmates, and happens to borrow from rspiritual concepts. Other Created System terms include: parogenic and willogenic.
Tulpagenic: a non-pathological system origin; tulpas, according to western interpretation, are entities intentionally created in the mind parallel to your own consciousness. Despite the origin of the community, the majority of tulpagenic systems believe their experience to be a purely psychological phenomenon.
Parogenic: a non-pathological system origin; parogenic systems are systems formed by free will. This includes tulpamancy, some soulbonding, and thoughtforms.
Willogenic: a non-pathological system origin; a willogenic system is a system that was purposely created, or willed into existence, through psychological or spiritual means. It is a term for purposefully created systems that is not connected to parogenic systems or tulpa systems, due to the controversy of tulpamancy. Due to the nature of the term, it does not encompass systems that consider themselves to have used tulpamancy to create their system.
Definitions are sourced from Pluralpedia.
Tulpagenic, Parogenic, and Willogenic are origin labels for plurals that intentionally created headmates. Tulpamancu belongs under the umbrella term Parogenic, while Willogenic separates itself from those two terms, due to the controversy around the "tulpa" term itself. Both Parogenic and Willogenic are umbrella terms that can include headmates and systems of a spiritual origin, but isn't exclusive to spiritual systems.
✦ — 「 What Is A Spiritual System And How/Why Do They Exist? 」
According to Pluralpedia, a Spiritual System is, "a system that is either or both spiritual or metaphysical in origin (for example, being aethergenic, metagenic, spirigenic, or possessive) or architecture (such as being a gateway system, an exosystem/exoplex, intraspiric or hemi-intraspiric), or simply having many godlets who identify with or as their sources. The term is a general umbrella that encompasses all systems whose spirituality or metaphysical belief impacts or influences their experience of plurality."
Some examples of spiritual plurality may include, but aren't limited too: godphoning (Godphones | A Community created for all the Pagans and Witches out there! , Diety Communication | Mad Diviner), channeling (Spiritual Channeling: Discover Your Hidden Abilities | Gaia , What Is Channeling and Are There Different Types of Channeling? | Anne Reith), certain types of ancestor worship (may be soulgenic), certain reincarnation/past lives spirituality (may be soulgenic), as well as cosmagenisis (origin label for systems who have headmates who originated from other planes of existence, universes, timelines, realms, etc. This can be both traumagenic and endogenic in origin, as headmates could appear for various reasons (ex: stress, a call for help, wanting to shift realities, etc.) Definition taken from Pluralpedia).

Technical Imaging - Your “Start” can differ from your “Finish”
📍 Media Link: https://youtu.be/ElWG0_kjy_Y?si=WPw-g4E9fr2PvciP
….and we’re back! Another less inspiring week, from me attempting to blend hobbies into adulting. But, in hindsight, maybe hobbies aren’t supposed to be scaled the same as your work. Anyways, that’s a whole separate post. Today, I watched the Great Explanation video about THE Mona Lisa! Who hadn’t heard numerous analysis of this piece? However, this analysis puts a backseat to the culture hoaxes; rather a deeper look into the technique. Mona Lisa, created by Leonardo Da Vinci, is one of the most (if not) recognizable pieces of artwork in the world. Rightfully so, the concept, technique, and cultural phenomena earns it that title. This writing piece will be broken into two pieces. First piece will be about the video and some highlights. Second piece will move into a larger philosophical view.
Part I: The Masterpiece
Before watching this 30 min video, I thought I knew everything an art-lover could know, even the conspiracy theories. Little did I know, Leonardo Da Vinci was a multi-scoped intellectual. Here are some highlights:
1. Background- Mona Lisa’s identity is confirmed. She was a wife of a wealthy merchant. Leonardo took on the commission because his father was the merchant’s lawyer.
2. Composition- The horizon and position of Mona Lisa are not parallel, which plays into the idea that she is moving. Her eyes don’t move (lol), but the positioning and slight angle of her body makes it look like she is. Not sure if most people notice, but Mona Lisa is wearing little jewelry. For a newly-wed wealthy woman, the body composition is almost bare, pointing attention to her face.
3. Technique- Leonardo uses a glazing technique, where you mix an oil with the paint, for a sheer appearance. This means over 30 layers of paint is on the canvas, 1/2 the width of a strand of hair. The sheerness of the paint allows the white base to reflect the light from the bottom.
Most of this information is based on the improving technology, to deeply look into these pieces. Technical imaging was brought up in an exhibit I saw this summer. After looking at a short video on how it’s done, I would love to be apart of that process and analyzing the outcomes!
Part II: The Legacy
My purpose of re-entering this art history realm was to re-imagine how I see these renowned art pieces (all forms). We all know art is expressive, but that’s to say the least! It is so beautiful to see a minuscule lense into someone else’s mind, because it can teach you so much about your own.
Leonardo used the Mona Lisa piece to display his own knowledge of the eco and exosystem. The piece was no longer about a portrait. The portrait was the medium to display his other knowledge. Earlier versions of the piece show the person Mona Lisa looking slightly different, but the final piece has a bunch of hidden knowledge areas.
We all follow a system. Mines included a traditional school system (elementary, middle, high school, college and grad), to find a career, create a lifestyle and fuel my lifestyle with said career. The system can include marriage, children, imprisonment, illness, and other paths of life. While in these paths, I am so focused on moving forward or getting out, that I tend to be disgruntled with the present. I get confused on why I needed to be in school. Why did I need to do busy work? Why do I have to experience these hardship? But, like the Mona Lisa, my current path is only a medium of the real story. The daily routine is the baseline of what your purpose is. Instead of looking at life as “working to live in a Groundhog Day life”; versus “where/how, in this current space, am I telling the real story”. Perspective of your own mind will change how you view and fill the spaces you are in. Purpose doesn’t equate to valuables, by the way. The real story of Mona Lisa may have never been about a portrait. Portraits have been commissioned for centuries, yet, this one has surpassed the others. Similarly, I have experienced so many pitfalls but others only speak on how I’ve positively affected their lives. It’s kinda makes all the bs worth it. Again, I don’t have the answers (nor do I want them). But, hey, it could be in my best interest to change my own perspective. With that being said, become an intellectual with the base you have (your life).

His Development
Tumblr media
In Bronfenbrenner's theory there are 5 systems. Arthur struggled with the microsystem which reflects in the experiences he had growing up as a child. According to Pomerantz, “We are born with certain personality characteristics (nature), but those characteristics are affected by powerful experiences (nurture)” (Pomerantz, 808). This reigns true in the case of Joker as well. He was developed due to the flaws in the “nurturing of Arthur Fleck”. He was adopted by Penny Fleck, who raised him in an abusive home. He wasn’t properly cared for and wasn’t placed in an environment that was supportive of his social, cognitive and emotional development. According to the film, Penny not only denied Arthur but allowed his abuse at the hands of her boyfriend. This led to an incident where Arthur was left with a major brain injury that contributed to his mental condition. His adoptive mother growing up was his immediate environment, and what she taught him was that he was a happy boy meant to be alone. The abuse and trauma resulted in his lack of ability to attach to others portraying traits of being a narcissist/ sociopath. This led to Arthur being used to being alone, contributing to his severe depression depicted in the film. That along with the mistreatment he receives from society is what made him resort to this side of himself, Joker, that gives society that same negative energy back.  Urie B. would agree that Arthur displays the theory of the 5 systems. The complex (abusive/ mentally manipulative) relationship with his mother impacted the way Arthur thinks and acts. “Early on as a young child,  he clearly sided with his aggressor (his mother), while she neglected him and let others abuse him. Instead of being angry, he found it more adaptive to align with her, nurture her, and be her caretaker” (Puder, p. 17). Urie would assess that the scene where Arthur finds out the truth about his mother’s lies and his childhood, clearly gives that turning point where his mind shifted the behaviors and thinking he was taught. This is where his actions start to be irrational and he drops this expectation of acting as if nothing was wrong with the way society treats each other.
youtube
Effectiveness or validity of Bronfenbrenner’s theory
This theory is effective in capturing the complex interplay between an individual and their environment. For a character like Arthur Fleck in the film. His development is shaped by immediate family dynamics, social interactions, and the larger societal context of Gotham City in the 1900s. His microsystem that is characterized by an abusive mother and a lack of supportive relationships greatly impacts his mental health/ sense of self. The exosystem, including societal neglect and poverty, contributes to his feelings of isolation as well as emptiness. Bronfenbrenner’s theory is a good fit of assessing Arthur’s psycho-development because it dissects these different systems and have essentially overlapped in his life leading to the violent, chaotic interactions he has with his immediate and external environment. His interactions within the microsystem lead to the shaping of his behavior in the macrosystem then to breaking himself down into Joker. Where the theory lacks is in incorporating how Arthur influences himself with his internal conflicts and desires. His identity wasn’t only shaped by his interactions with other systems. It was also shaped by his economic position, the location (Gotham City). A more interconnected theory would be better to assess his complex character as Arthur and as Joker.
