#Repost from our Incredibly Inspirational conservationist friends at...@thecleanupkids —— The beautiful snow leopard is a victim of the WILDLIFE TRADE. They are hunted down and killed for their stunning fur. The Snow Leopard can be found in 12 countries, and it is illegal to hunt them in all 12, however, it is nearly impossible to track and enforce it. It is estimated that there are somewhere around 4000 snow leopards left in the wild. They are a declining and vulnerable species, and we for one think that it is worth fighting for these incredible animals. 📸: Briana May Nat Geo Your Shot ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ from @wildlifevoiceinc // We must all work hard to overcome and end the illegal wildlife trade that is driving many species into extinction! Don’t Turn a Blind Eye! ・・・ WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT // Would you rather see a photograph of a living primate, or one being cooked for human consumption?  WARNING: This post contains sensitive subject matter. Do not scroll unless you are ready to see the reality of a wildlife market.  #Repost from conservation #wildographydudette, writer & co-founder of @sealegacy @mitty. “I normally post beautiful and inspiring photographs, but the truth is that sometimes we need to look right at the ugly face of an issue in order to solve it. This pandemic didn't come out of thin air; humans created it with our appetite for animal flesh and false cures. This virus jumped from a small market onto the global stage, because humans take animals from the wild and crowd them together into tight spaces with other wild creatures, domestic animals, and people. It does not matter which country it came from; wildlife markets exist all over the world, from many countries in Asia, South America and Africa and even in the United States and Europe and everywhere they exist they are a testament to human short-sightedness and cruelty. If we want to stop the next pandemic from ever happening, we need to start at the source, by supporting legislation that bans wildlife trade completely. Sign the declaration to ensure that #ExtinctionEndsHere -- for all life on Earth -- at the link in my bio. #EndTheTrade with @global_wildlife_conservation and @sealegacy #Wildography #conservation #wildlifephotography #conservationphotography #endangeredspecies #gorilla #mountaingorilla #wildlifecrime # https://www.instagram.com/p/CDCgaqAgW8w/?igshid=7hccp8mekthi

HEALING - “Maybe this is our chance to write the wrongs right. And to be the ancestors that the future of this story will remember as the ones who healed humanity.” - Stacie Martin It is time we UNITE, with a single VOICE, to stand in DEFENSE of all the beings in Nature who have suffered by our hands...putting an END to the senseless DESTRUCTION, replacing APATHY with EMPATHY, and creating a global MOVEMENT for HEALTHY and ABUNDANT NATURE. Posted @withrepost • @paulnicklen Staying positive in the face of the #climatecrisis can be difficult. Lately, it's felt like every day a story is published about a new threat facing our earth and ocean. From the collapse of permafrost in the Arctic, to the Amazon burning, to the devastation wrought by Hurricane #Dorian in the Bahamas - all of this destruction can overwhelm us when we face it alone. I've been there. In the past, there were times when I felt like I was talking to a wall trying to convince others why we need to care about wild places and our shared planet. Social media has changed that, and so have all of you reading this right now. I am so grateful for those that have joined @SeaLegacy and me on this journey and I hope you know that if you ever feel like the climate crisis is too much for you, you can always find support on my channel, and in the incredible community of people who make up #TheTide @SeaLegacy. There is still a lot of work to be done, but I know that we're going to accomplish great things together - because we already have. Go to the link at my bio to learn more about how you can start #TurningTheTide with us. #bethechange #haveavoice #community #polarbear #extinctionendshere https://www.instagram.com/p/B2QnLliiQiz/?igshid=jbsiv440vj87

Dear my girl Fatu🦏, today I plant this tree to express my love for you. I've dedicated my life to save the northern white rhinos and other wildlife species from extinction. Why plant trees??? Trees are a vital part of the environment on our blue-green planet. Did you know that not only people but also a vast majority of animals and birds need trees? Everything is deeply interconnected! Trees help animals and birds to survive as they provide them with food and shelter. Some trees can be seen as a home to many birds and animals. The branches of the trees provide a place for them to rest or nest while they are in the forest. The leaves also serve as an excellent food source for some animals that live in forests. #planttreesplanthope #saverhinosfromextinction #extinctionisreal #extinctionendshere (at Nairobi, Kenya) https://www.instagram.com/p/CfZTWdsKQPy/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Eastern Exotics Wildlife, Gemstones and Diving @easternexotics would like to share awareness for @seathefilm ・・・ Petition to help Protect Maldives Sharks in bio 🦈 - A message from @shawnheinrichs. 🦈 "The Maldives, a global leader in dive eco-tourism, has had a ban on shark fishing for over 10 years and this has created a critical oasis for sharks in the Indian Ocean. However, under pressure from the exploitive fisheries sector, they are now considering lifting the ban and allowing shark fishing to resume. This would have a devastating impact on vulnerable shark populations. Minister Zaha said that she sees "no reason not to" lift the ban to reap benefits from fishing this economic resource.” - With Maldives having declared a climate emergency, it is inconsistent for the country to undermine its position as a safe haven and hope-spot for sharks which play a vital role in maintaining thehealth of the Maldives’ marine environment. - We are slaughtering over 100 million sharks per year and many sharks populations have declined by as much as 90-99% in the past few decades. - Sign the petition in my bio to urging the government of the Maldives to not reopen shark fisheries: - #EndTheWarOnSharks #ExtinctionEndsHere #bethechange #lightonecandle #seaspiracy #fyp #ocean #sea #environment #likeforlike #like #fy #foryou #sharks #plasticpollution https://www.instagram.com/p/CNAQwQinCFW/?igshid=16ha1xjszp8i

💦🌊 Happy World Oceans Day ! 🌊💦 from @paulnicklen Please turn up the volume nice and loud, relax, and enjoy one of the most powerful experiences I have ever had with whales. And, for once, this is a good news story. // Extinction isn’t an accident – it’s a choice. The story of the humpback whale is proof. For nearly 200 years, these peaceful, slow-moving giants were hunted without mercy and nearly driven to extinction. But we chose to save them rather than complete their demise. A hunting moratorium introduced in 1966 and their inclusion on the Endangered Species Act in 1973 helped save humpbacks from the brink. There is still work to do, but we are on the right track. @mitty and I wanted others to learn from this story as we did, so we built our @sealegacy conservation movement around the image of the humpback whale. It reminds us that, no matter what, we can always make choices to ensure that #extinctionendshere. Filmed on expedition under a special interaction (Regulation 13) permit from The Ministry of Tourism with @scott.portelli , @vilitakau, @jaytuma, and @kyle.roepke. #Repost @natgeo (with @report.for.insta) ... Photo by @paulnicklen | I didn't realize I was holding my breath until after I took this photo of a wild coastal wolf in British Columbia. Standing just ten feet in front of me, I was transfixed as this magnificent animal moved with the grace of a ghost through the trees. Walking in the #GreatBearRainforest is like stepping through a veil into another world, where the laws of nature still reign supreme, and you are just a lonely wanderer in the midst of gold-eyed nobility, like this sea wolf. Follow me @PaulNicklen for more stories about the quiet encounters I've had the luck of documenting with some of nature's most impressive animals and learn why I founded @SeaLegacy to help protect them. #ExtinctionEndsHere #SeaWolf #Conservation #Gratitude #Beauty (at Durham, North Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-o6cCSJpTx/?igshid=19wvyhmcu1w40

It’s time we change the narrative, Planet Earth...
COVID-19 is not evil, it shares this world with us and is here because of some of the choices we have made.
It’s time to start listening, hearing and healing...

Posted @withrepost • @mitty I waited in knee-deep water, chilled to the bone but patiently waiting for the first one to go. Carefully assessing the water to make sure no predators are present, adelie penguins pack against each other on a frozen ledge in Antartica. As soon as the first ones go, the others quickly follow like dominoes. Adelies are not the largest penguins by far, but they pack a lot of charisma into their small frames and are so charming to watch. The future of Antarctica, and all of the animals that depend on the ice there, is threatened every day by the climate crisis, but only one marine protected area (MPA) has been adopted here, in the Ross Sea. I am working with my team at @SeaLegacy to encourage the establishment of three new marine protected areas. Go to the link in my bio to learn how you can join us, and start #TurningTheTide for healthy and abundant oceans. #CCAMLR #ExtinctionEndsHere #StopClimateChange https://www.instagram.com/p/B4IBTxti_7r/?igshid=1aqo0r9g17ygf
