Fellow Nico Rosberg apologist, what do you think about all those people comparing Checo to Nico? I actually like Checo but I don’t think he has the power to psychologically manipulate Max like Nico did with Lewis. Also the relationship between Max and Checo is nothing compared to brocedes.
I will not say a word, I will only post stats of 2 years as teammates in a rocketship:

I took the liberty to analyse Max's first 11 races from last year and this year, I also left out cancelled races since they wouldn't be representative of Max's pace.
--
2022 (2 DNFs and 1 Sprint Race)
Laps lead: 237/623 (38.04%)
Distance lead: 1,203.14 km/3,129.55 km (38.44%)
Points achieved: 181/268 (67.54%) - the points are: maximum of 8 points for the sprint race and 10 times 26 points (10 times first place and fastest lap 10 times)
--
2023 (2 Races Cancelled and 2 Sprint Races)
Laps lead: 441/596 (73.99%)
Distance lead: 2,008.48 km/2,918.81 km (68.81%)
Points achieved: 229/250 (91.6%) - the points are: maximum of 16 points for 2 sprint races and 9 times 26 points (9 times first place and 9 fastest laps)
--
So far, he has achieved 229 points from last year's 454 points (50.44%) and 229 points from last year's 181 points in 11 races (126.52%).
--
Sure, the car has gotten better and faster, but it also shows how strong Max really is (compared to Sergio's performance), no matter what others might say. This year, Max has a stronger start compared to last year. Driver and car are a good combination this year, so let's see what the stats say in four races/sprints.

For visual people like me, here's a graph of the temperatures and humidity at the start of each race this season (with 2022 data for the races that haven't happened yet):
Tumblr media
And just temperature:
Tumblr media
The biggest takeaways from this? Qatar was the hottest race of the year so far with a relatively high humidity and it seems like very few of the drivers were prepared for that.
In Singapore, everyone knows it's going to be a physically demanding race and the drivers condition for it. They still look exhausted after that race, but none of them are nearly passing out, throwing up, and/or being seen by medical.
That is scary and dangerous and I am so glad that the race is later in the year next year.
On the flip side, let's talk about Vegas for a sec. I don't think the FIA realized when they set this race in November that the Nevada desert is cold at night. The days are quite pleasant, but that does nothing for a 10pm race.
Based on historical data, I'm predicting a temperature of 52°F (11°C) at lights out. That is twelve degrees colder than the next coldest race this season, which was a rainy Zandvoort.
Honestly, if the FIA wanted comparable temperatures to other races this season, Vegas should be somewhere around the end of August to mid-September.
I would not be surprised if tire temperature is a major struggle in Vegas. I would also not be surprised if the soft tires are actually a valid race tire.
Cold tires can be dangerous and I sincerely hope Pirelli and the FIA are thinking about this, as well as what can be done to avoid situations like Qatar.
(If anyone wants the tabulated data so they can cross reference with things like rain/historical averages or make their own graphs, let me now and I'll throw it on a reblog!)

Thought I'd take a look at how Gen F1 (as I'm going to call them) is doing compared to one another. Ages 24-27 - many of them competed against each other in karting and/or the feeder series. One of these is not like the others...

i wasn't really thinking of any race in particular for the nico-checo comparison, though baku is a really good one. nico had multiple races that season where lewis either fucked qualifying or had mechanical issues which left him further back. in china lewis had turbo-charger failure that left him at the back of the grid (interestingly he had brake issues and nico had power unit issues in free practice) while nico started on pole and won with a 38 second gap to seb in 2nd. in russia, lewis started 10th after more turbo-charger issues while nico got pole. although lewis came back to 2nd, nico won by 25 seconds and lapped all but four cars as well as getting a grand slam (pole, fastest lap, led every lap -- he literally set the fastest lap on 30 lap old mediums). lewis made mistakes in every qualifying session in baku, and nico was fasted in each qualifying session, had another grand slam, and finished 16 seconds ahead of seb, despite engine issues. in spa, lewis had grid penalties and started at the back of the grid while nico was on pole. he finished 14 seconds ahead of daniel ricciardo in 2nd.
the races where nico started on the front row and beat lewis off the line show his pace even more, but that's a different story with different skills. in order to win a championship, you have to be able to capitalise on opportunities, and nico always did so brilliantly. checo has nothing on him
wow not you having the free practice stats too 😭😭 a true nicologist... 🫡
30 seconds ahead and lapped 4 cars oh that v6 was soooooo nasty 😫😫😫 they don't make illegal mercs like that anymore 🥹
