Hey so I’m I really like your blog you’re pretty funny but I want to ask you something since you’ve posted about this before, how do you take photos of people and make it look like it’s from the 80’s? I always take photos of people with my camera and I don’t know what I do wrong but it just doesn’t look like it’s from the 80’s (thank you if you answer this)

Aw hi!! <3 appreciate the ask! I use 35mm, and I think the film grain is what makes the images look more dated. I also like to shoot with expired film sometimes, it skews the colors and makes it look even more retro and gives it a fuzzier nostalgic vibe

For the actual like pictures though I think you need to utilize vintage props / outfits, even simple details like vintage sneakers or a dated wood paneled wall in the background sells it a LOT. Watch out for cars/phones/backgrounds/clothing cause those can sometimes be pretty obvious tells

Also, I've noticed that people tended to act differently when being filmed/photographed, you saw a lot less of the whole "moody looking away from the camera posing in an aesthetically pleasing way for the gram" stuff, yknow? It was more like "yippie I'm on camera :D!!!"

But also candids are AWESOME. Do more of those they rock

You should check out fan_o_war_ on instagram for good inspiration. It's like my favorite account ever. It's a good resource for mannerisms, poses, outfits, backgrounds, etc.

I'm not sure if this helps but I use Kodak gold or fujicolor and shoot with a 1986 nikon f501 and a 2002 Canon rebel ti

What A Mighty Fyne Speaker Line Up!

Hi Everyone,

One of the highlights for me during 2018 was hearing my first pair of Fyne Audio speakers, the F501′s, I really never expected them to be as goods as they were and they really filled a gap in our speaker lineup as I had never really found a speaker at this price point before that I could really recommend and since that moment we have sold quite a few pairs to some very happy customers which is great news.

But it was always Fyne Audio’s plan to bring a full range of speakers at various price points out up to £25,000 so I am delighted to say that we now also have the F501′s bigger brother on demo, the F502 which is considerably bigger and really is incredible value but just before Christmas we also took delivery of our demo pair of the F701 which are the next range up and come in at £5995 and in what is becoming the Fyne Audio way they punch well above their price point.

1st Fyne Audio F702 Install!

Funnily enough a couple of weeks before Christmas the Fyne Audio rep bought in the F701 for me to listen to before I decided to take them on and at the same time I had a customer come in for a speaker demo so he had a listen and bought a pair there and then which is a very good endorsement, please find a picture below of the install which are the first pair of F701′s installed anywhere, needless to say he is absolutely loving them.
