TW for death and frightening/distressing elements below!

Since I'm fixated on the idea of Pokepasta (pokemon creepypastas) and just video game horror in general, we need to expand on some of the ones that exist already outside of their source material.

Let's take the 'Faceless' glitch in Genshin. Sure it's a graphical glitch or a weird occurance of Ayato/Itto/etc found in a 'pirated' copy from a sketchy site, but what if it could be a virus that could infect the REAL copy of Genshin?

Imagine. You're playing and you come across a random, t-posing character you don't have, but when you go near the entity the game crashes or all background ambience/music just...stops.

There could also be a story a la Strangled Red with Ayato and Itto. Some sort of betrayal leads the oni (rather than Ayato) to strangle his best friend to death and occasionally break the 4th wall.

My other thoughts involved a weird screenshot of Kaeya I found that I drew, along with a glitch my lovely friend Foxy found with Aether. I'll be making art/writing of that soon (note: MY WRITING IS NOT THE BEST, but it fits the cliche creepypasta format. lol)

As someone who has loved internet horror since they were a wee lad on the internet, I adore finding other ways to make things horrifying moreso than they already are.

Cutting that ramble off, I have a few ideas for these! Since I have the time lol

The Faceless is a virus group that eventually hacked into Genshin's master copy and infected thousands of new users and old users via 'update' that fixed certain things with Ayato. However, it gave Ayato self awareness, and they also released a fake patch involving Itto. These copies of the two characters often cannot render with their head model in the game. The story follows an unsuspecting Genshin user downloading this patches and experiencing the horrors that ensue.

Disintegrated Kaeya is based on that weird screenshot I found. This follows a user discovering an odd document in the game files and using it to their advantage, causing (again) Kaeya to notice he's just a game character and eventually killing off the main cast in frustration that only he came to this realization.

Alternate Aether (YES THAT KIND OF ALTERNATE) is a glitch within one of the quests (I think it was Albedo's first one? I don't remember) where you see an Aether without the glowy elements of his outfit. Slowly, this Aether impersonates the player and eventually makes the game no longer playable for the player.

(context: a diona main showed off their gameplay on tiktok but saw ayato standing behind her with literally no face just eyes, and they're in single player and don't have an ayato, there's more to the story but that's the brief run down)

and yeah! extra context: the official genshin website wasn't working for the russian player and so, they downloaded it from a sketchy website. when they wanted to showcase their diona, they saw ayato on top of the statue in windrise and his face... was missing (just a full-on void, only his pretty eyes were there).

tw to those who want to search it up: the faceless ayato doesn't actually look as scary as it sounds (to me?), it reminds me of the mandela catalogue tbh. and that's creepy enough 😭

ok so basically there's a creepypasta going on, that's kinda called "faceless ayato". it goes like this: a russian diona main downloaded gi from an unknown source bc the official website wasn't working, and when they logged in there was a glitched ayato model, with void instead of his face. they also found itto, raiden and ayato in a mondstadt’s tavern, and later on saw ayato push itto off a cliff.

it turned into a whole story and im still trying to piece it all together bc creepypastas are fucking neat but it’s also very messy so it might be PAINFUL to read. it’s just what ive seen on tiktok

here’s the lore (summarized) utc. tw for disturbing content, multiple characters dying and unreality

- ayato was part of a secret mission, the goal was to kill off the arataki gang. he effectively murdered kuki and itto’s men, but itto wasn’t there. he came back to his whole gang slaughtered, and decided to get revenge: he hunted down every man involved in that mission, until he discovered that ayato was not only involved, but was literally the one who instigated it. which hurt, because he considered ayato a friend, a brother even.

- itto followed him until he could find the best time to kill him. it happened on a cliff near the kamisato household, with itto shoving ayato off of it.

- when itto went down the hill to check whether ayato was indeed dead, he found him crawling on the floor, legs broken and chest heaving. so itto tried to finish him off with his bare hands, but ayato had the most manic smile tearing his face open - and itto snapped. he slammed ayato’s face with his claymore, until all that was left of it was bits and pieces of bloody flesh.

- when ayaka learns about that, she decides to contact hu tao’s funeral parlor to organize a proper ceremony for her brother. yanfei tags along essentially because of kuki’s death, but zhongli stays behind.

- hu tao tells ayaka about the aura of an evil spirit haunting the house, and ayaka tells her about her brother’s mission to kill arataki’s gang + the fact that itto remained. hu tao and yanfei contact heizou to investigate, which leads them to the cliff where ayato was killed.

- when they reach it they find itto. he appears alone for heizou and yanfei, but hu tao sees ayato’s faceless ghost staring right back at her.

- ayato throws itto off the cliff. it looks like he jumped on his own for yanfei and heizou, but the ghost tilts his head and waves at hu tao afterwards. itto falls face first, and when they check his corpse, his face is disfigured and unrecognizable. he’s holding a hydro vision - yanfei picks it up, despite hu tao’s protest.

- later that night, hu tao has a nightmare. she dreams of itto screaming, ayato’s ghost clawing and ripping his face. she wakes up with a start when dream!ayato rushes towards her, and finds yanfei hovering above her bed. she’s holding a hydro vision.

- yanfei, seemingly possessed by faceless ayato, strangles hu tao to death.

that’s all i have for now!! but it’s funny. i might tweak it to be more coherent at some point bc the posts ive read on tiktok were frankly a mess. good ideas tho

scaramouche ; he was originally a faceless streamer, streaming basic content like games. he favors fps games, and really any other kind of competitive game. yes, including mario kart. he got a decent following from that, but he really took off when he did a face reveal. due to his sudden popularity, many content creators made reaction videos to his face reveal— including childe. this was their first meeting.

heizou, kazuha, xiao, aether ; they all stream games. heizou makes other content like theory videos and true crime documentaries, kazuha uses his fame to boost his poetry, xiao writes little tidbits of music on his bass guitar based off of kazuhas poetry, and aether is honestly just happy to be there. he and kazuha stream more chill games like minecraft and some gacha games, heizou likes horror games and visual novels, and xiao likes fps games. they all stream together, and they want to make friends with scaramouche because they think he'll fit in well with their group.

I was currently walking around all alone, I sneaked out of the Shogunate Palace to find this Itto guy I know I should've at least informed someone,

"let us take you to him then.'' Shinobu said as we left off to go to their meeting area

I was currently talking to one of the members of Itto's gang, it seems that he was on a meeting and we were planning to surprise him. I didn't care about it I'm already 500 years old, we were planning to tell it to him when he's finally annoyed.

he was reportedly the one who annoys everyone and everywhere, he was always around their necks. "I want him to taste his own medicine." Shinobu looked awfully annoyed by him

I was getting stares by the delinquents, trying to terrify me? funny. "where's boss?'' Shinobu asked one of them "in a meeting with the entire Oni Gangs, he's fucking busy."

I could feel this scent everywhere I decided to follow it, it led me to a room and a bunch of men arguing

I decided to knock the door but this time I quickly put on a cloth I saw near me

a gentleman/butler answered "hello?- LADY Y/N?"

All of us Oni leaders were arguing about attacking the Tenryou Comission because of the vision hunt decree, of course I was against the decree but attacking them is just too much for me and the gang.

''WE GOTTA ATTACK THE TENRYOU COMISSION!" The lavender Oni yelled

I respond "YOU TRYNA DIE BITCH? GO TO HELL YOU STUPID ONI" But then someone knocked the door and the butler of the blue Oni opened it and he suddenly yelled

"hello?- LADY Y/N?" he yelled and made us look at him in shock as he back away.

"Hello."

I looked at her in shock and so was the other Oni's

'' good evening to you too all Oni's but I'm afraid you're not nice to my friends? do I serve my stand?"

everyone was silent Until the Lavender Oni responded an anxious response "I- Uh .. Lady Y/n.. we can explain.."

'' and I thought our clans were friends lavender Oni you have failed me and the entire government attorneys.''

''But I'm not looking forward to fight Oni's today I just want to take you're little Crimson Oni" she said as everyone looked at me dead serious like

'you better fucking go you stupid idiot.'

"y-yea sure.. my lady ..'' I stood up from my desk and walked up to her I was indeed turning as red as my old skin.

"l-look, if it's about the letter thing I gave you yesterday- please just tell it to me straight in my face..''

at a sudden, she started taking off her cloth

NO ONE'S POV

a young crimson Oni was running around to get the Onikabuto but he suddenly tripped and bleed severely. It seems like the boy had tripped in an Oni trap filled with different types of beans, he was screaming in utter pain and kept crying as hives started to show in his beautiful red skin

"HAHAHAHHA what a loser!" a human boy came out ''fortune in Oni out! fortune in Oni out!"

"FORTUNE IN ONI OUT!"

they kept repeating that stupid chant.. until..

the boy couldn't take the pain any longer. And he passed out in severe pain.

The boy suddenly felt warm liquid being pressed into his bruise he finally squinted his eyes and saw the same exact girl that defended him, he reacted and backed away, not until a tree hit his weak back as he groaned in pain and possibly had cried a bit

"don't come near me!" he covered himself as he tears up and sobs unbelievable ugly cries

''AW come on! I defended you with my kind and this is what you react to me? that's frustrating!" he finally looked at her and saw her beautiful lilac orbs and dark purple hair those looks gave him a feeling..

"eh.. uhm.. why do you look like the Shogunate?"

the girl flinched at his words "eh.. uh..''

'' I suppose, People can get lucky..?" '' not when they are from Inazuma.."

"but here, let me help you..'' she soon became emotionless and treated my wounds

When they downloaded they started seeing ayato around the map without a face , his first appearance was at that one huge statue of barbatos from mondstad which has a meaning too and I'll tell you the lore I've seen so far

The doina main also saw itto ei and hu tao faceless too, at some point ei kept like summoning? Lighting and stuff they also found really strange notes like "it wasn't a suicide" that were either referring to ayato or to it to (most likely ayato)

i read the other post you sent me too, and it's quite fascinating lol ^^ i wonder how it got to there tho did someone sit there and rework the program or smth

been brainstorming a possible genshin dating sim today, though i doubt it will ever happen (at least, not by my hands) because it's pretty complicated, there are over 70 characters (which will absolutely be to over 100 by the snezhnaya update), and i have no experience making games at all. still, it's a fun thought!

here's some stuff i came up with!

divided into 7 games, one for each nation? or combine 2-3 nations for each to keep the game small and organized (maybe divided by element? element themed games w all the characters from one element? travelers would be in the anemo one, the unplayable harbingers would be their own game or with the nation they're associated with or just all in snezhnaya? mm idk)

3-4 paths for each character because if there were any more the game would take literally forever to 100%

secret faceless ayato path (because haha funny and also people seem to be into him anyway? it would be neat)

friendship and romance paths!

purely sfw, maybe some suggestive jokes and swearing but nothing explicit (so anyone can feel comfortable playing!)

naming system for mc/player, they aren’t traveler (for the lumine/aether simps out there, or just people with ocs/self inserts! <3)

pronoun choices that aren't just he/she/they (there's so many neos it would be hard to put them all, but things like xey/xem and combos like he/they and she/they would be available. maybe there'd be a way to type out your pronouns?)

some potential path ideas for certain characters:

horseback riding around windrise with kaeya

helping venti write poetry in angel's share/under vanessa's tree (lyre lessons? >:3)

putting away books with lisa and chatting during a tea break

dancing lessons with eula

making alhaitham take a break (reading together, maybe going on a walk through the city?)

beetle hunting with itto

kazuha invites you to go on a walk with him

wanderer teaches you how to sew dolls (scaramouche would be a separate route entirely, probably in inazuma or the harbinger game)

playing tcg with cyno/patrolling the desert

tighnari heals you/teaches you how to mix medicine

resting with baizhu

helping ganyu with work

helping kirara deliver packages and then taking a break together

mona reads your fortune/book shopping with mona

preparing for a performance with nilou (think cliche reading a romance scene script together teehee)

fishing with childe

reorganizing the teapot with either traveler

hot springs with thoma or gorou

going on a hike/baking a cake with gorou!

reading together with xingqiu

sparring with dehya/self care with dehya

painting with albedo (maybe you can be the subject of the painting.... :3)
