i know it’s july, i just love halloween time and it’s basically around the corner now that i think about it :3 but anywho here are some of my silly headcanons of what costumes/activities the haikyuu characters would do on halloween ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡

couples from my fics as couples halloween costumes 🙂‍↕️ (“eggy it’s august-“ don’t care)

on repeat: lola and bugs bunny. yn likes that it’s cute and kageyama likes that it’s low effort. he keeps trying to take off the bunny ears but yn always catches him and puts them back on.

calloused hands: morticia and gomez. kuroo drew on a fake mustache and everyone made fun of him. yn’s playing a show and she keeps tripping on the end of her long ass dress but they look good as hell. they makeup and yn gets red lipstick all over his face which just serves to make the costume more lore accurate.

syrup: flynn ryder and rapunzel. it was oikawa’s idea. he braided yn’s hair and put flowers in it for her. they get trashed and at some point oikawa sees another flynn ryder and yn has to pull him away from the worlds stupidest argument

inked: graham and megan from but im a cheerleader. kiyoko’s megan and yn’s graham. yn quotes the movie all night and kiyoko only does the cheer from the end of the movie once when its just the two of them. yn ends up holding her pom pom’s for her all night

bruised: they didn’t wanna dress up but oikawa made them so they were extremely lazy and both dressed up as boxers. yn wrapped both their hands up and they got those thin shiny robes from a costume store and then showed up. oikawa was infuriated.

35mm: mr. & mrs. fox from fantastic mr. fox. painstakingly elaborate. take in-character photos together but yn won’t post them unless the “vibe is film accurate”

static: tiffany and chucky. yn got noya one of those red wigs but he lost it on his way to the bar and no one noticed until hours later. she did paint his face to give him those fake scars but she did not do a good job so there’s just a bunch of red lines on his face.

maneater: romeo + juliet (1996 version the angel and the knight costumes). yn did all the work and put an atrocious amount of effort into it and iwaizumi just wore whatever she gave him to wear. they’re both working so yn is just dressed like an angel in the dj booth slamming back vodka redbulls and iwa is standing outside the club arms crossed in fake chain armor on one of the busiest nights of the year.

I liked it!

I thought it was a very apt bridge between the old Fox films and Deadpool coming into the MCU.

I'm not a huge fan of uber violent things but something I appreciate about the Deadpool films (and Ryan Reynolds' brand of 12yo humor) is that behind it all is a lot of heart. And this film retained that, through all the crudeness, the point is that ultimately, Deadpool/Wade is a really good guy. And I can respect that.

Getting into specifics... which are very spoiler-y

I thought the plot itself was very thin, and this whole thing probably works better as a bunch of sketches, but it's fine. I was never asking for a lot from this film, and it did the only thing I was really asking of it, which was provide entertainment and get Deadpool into the MCU.

I appreciate that they really didn't shit on Logan's legacy while bringing Hugh Jackman back. Jackman seemed to be having a good time of it, which I'm glad to see.

Btw, loved all the musical jokes we got in this! Loved it.

I LOVED the montage of various Wolverines -- I understood most of the references! Yay me for reading X-Men comics for so long!!

The Henry Cavill cameo? Perfect.

I'm not surprised we didn't see a lot of Wade's family and friends, but it is sad they got such a small amount of screen time.

Ooff, Vanessa continues to be the one really weak piece of this whole thing. Does the actress not want to be there? Does she have limited time? Why is her character always being reduced to love interest whom Wade does everything for but there's no development of her character? Idk.

The TVA stuff is fine. I feel like it's so convoluted now that it doesn't really matter that it ultimately doesn't make much sense. I do think the MCU needs to start moving away from the multiverse stuff. It's just getting too mucky and it's lost focus.

Oh, why is Thor holding Deadpool, I'm sure it was just a gag, but oh god would it be hilarious if they brought it back at some point.

The Happy stuff. It's always great to see him, but how did Deadpool end up in the main universe? Why am I even questioning this?

Cracked me up that they hid Peter's face in that picture. Can't give Sony any more money than necessary.

Oh, in general, I love LOVED all the fourth wall breaks. This is why I watch Deadpool movies.

Cassandra Nova was fine as a villain. The actress was great! She just feels... a little too seriously evil to be in this comedy movie. Idk.

All the returning c-list villains were fun!

Having Chris Evans return as Johnny Strom was a brilliant move and I loved it. Having him just be the opposite of Steve Rogers on top of it was hilarious. Perfect use of a cameo, film.

Wesley Snipes returning as Blade. Goddamn. I'm kinda surprised he agreed to do it!

Great to see Jennifer Garner return as Elektra. I'm kinda glad I made myself watch all those marvel movies (which I still need to finish...) I appreciate this cameo more (and the dig at Daredevil).

Yay Laura returning! Could have always used more of her, but she did what she needed to.

Okay. Okay, let's talk about it. Let's talk about Channing Tatum as Gambit...

The Pros : The accent was fun, the way they used his powers was fantastic and original, they didn't make him the butt of jokes or treat him like a joke, there was a general respect for the character overall and I really, really, appreciate that being a Gambit fan

The Cons : Look, I have nothing against Tatum personally. He just doesn't look right. He's too think in body shape (not meant in a derogatory way), and his face just doesn't work in the headsock. Not to mention the costume looked plastic and cheap.

I really hope Gambit is back, but can we have Tatum as Gambit here like we had JKras as Mr. Fantastic in Dr. Strange? Just a one time fun gag? Please??

Remy is having a really good year despite dying everywhere.

The Deadpool squad (or whatever) I'm afraid I haven't read enough Deadpool to really get it, but it was fun. The side scrolling action sequence reminded me of a video game. And honestly, Wolverine with his cowl on, just kind of loosely moving reminded me of a video game as well.

I'm super curious to see how Deadpool plays within the MCU now. Let's go for it.

The credits were a nice touch. I'm glad they could honor those films for what they did, and I'm glad we can now move on from them.

lisa frankenstein (2024) – movies made for meeeeee !!!!!! it’s james whale it’s metropolis it’s gothic romance it’s miss newton doing the coolest craziest weird goth girl of my dreams ❣️❣️❣️ couldn’t stop laughing and it has such a HEART! one thing diablo cody will do is make you go hahahaha what a fun movie and then take your feet from under you with the pure heart of the movie. genuinely a love letter for weird girls and unloved freaks i loved this so much ❣️❣️❣️

fantastic mr fox (2009) – one of the few wes andersons that worked for me bc usually i feel his movies lack a heart but this one was sweet and tender!! the animation is so cute and twee and it was so funny i couldn’t stop laughing

Character design rant below because this still bothers me but the gist is: Making Beezlebub a literal queen bee instead of a winged furry is actually more generic

(Note these aren’t bad designs, generic designs can work and are not inherently bad,there’s no real original ideas it just how you express them. I just think being literal with Bee doesn’t work in the context of the narrative and character Viv has shared)

Making Bee a literal Queen Bee doesn’t make sense for her personality, role or even symbolically

For one she’s likely meant to be (part) hover fly than an actual bee. You know “you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar”? Plus the “Bee” aesthetic is likely meant to hide the uglier side of the gluttony ring (similar to how junk food looks good while being bad for your health)

But for starters making her aesthetic more military/royalty, while it fits the general theme of “animal tamer queen bee”, you have to remember she’s meant to be below Lucifer in the hierarchy of Vivziepop’s Hell.

Lucifer is already meant to be the “Ring Leader” , so Bee dressing more like a traditional animal tamer would conflict with Lucifer’s role , as both ring leader and animal tamer have similar clothing.

(seriously Google “ring leader costume” and “animal tamer costume” and tell me it not just the same outfits being shown)

More than that, Bee is a party animal, and idk about everyone else but when I see someone in a formal outfit or even uniform with a matching crown , a serious hive mind army of bees and who may or may not be holding a whip , I think “this person is serious and strict, likely doesn’t even like sleeping past 9 pm” not “wow this person is gonna throw the wildest party in all of literal hell!”

If you want to ignore that the “original” Beezlebub was “lord of the flies”(and represented the sin of envy as well as gluttony), making her a literal bee still doesn’t make sense.

In nature bees are a hive species who are willing to sacrifice themselves for the safety of their hive. Bees are so hard working that they literally symbolise hard work , as well as wisdom and teamwork. 

Nothing about bees actually connects them to the sin of gluttony besides maybe honey, and other animals such as bears who steal honey would make a better fit for gluttony than bees.

If anything , making a demon lord have bee aesthetics while dressed in royalty/military clothing and heavy in the “animal tamer” role (who was an animal abuser actually) is more….wrath than gluttony (I seen someone say they wanna give Bee Lion features to better suit the animal tamer element and uh, dude, lions are symbolically wrath or pride come on)

As gluttony is about lack of control and overindulgence , with a lot of the elements people have added to “fix” /redesign Bee give her the opposite elements that fit a character who is over controlling and strict.

Side note but which one would stick out like a sore thumb more in a hell hound party?

So than, why did Vivziepop make her a fox of all things? Instead of a bear to fit better with the bee aesthetic , or a pig which is more traditionally seen as a symbol of gluttony

And yes it is partly a reference to Viv’s older animations such as Jay from “Die Young”, and because Viv likes furries

It’s more likely because foxes do symbolise gluttony , unlike bees

okay foxes are usually used for greed not gluttony, but people misinterpret greed and gluttony as the same just for money and food respectively. But even if we go with the proper meanings of them (greed being hoarding while gluttony being overindulgence) in many stories and folktales, what are foxes most known for?

Biting off more than they can chew

From “9”fantastic mr fox” getting cocky with his plans to steal food for his community, to folktales such as “the gingerbread man” where the fox betrays the gingerbread man for a quick snack and even to other countries such as Korea’s “the fox sister” where a fox spirit eats the livers of her brothers to try to become human

technically a wolf would work too, considering the role the big bad wolf has in various stories, though there’s other elements as to why Bee suits being a fox furry

Yep, that sounds much more like a drug stealing party queen than the bee symbolim, yeah?

I know technically if Bee is meant to be the animal tamer than there should be various animal themed demons than just hellhounds and such but at that point one is better off making their own concept of a demon queen bee than remake Viv’s existing story fit their own standards

(Side note but if anyone wants to make their own hell story, I think a strict bee queen who does animal taming would work great as the ruler of the Seventh layer of hell if you use Dante as inspiration)

If you made it this far I do actually have criticisms of Bee’s original design

Hair is an eye strain (especially in motion)

her fringe looks distracting and makes her lava lamp hair even more eye straining

(though I’d keep the lava lamp hair, just balance it better)

i don’t like that she’s meant to be the actual Beezlebub, I actually thought she was the daughter or even a custom made hellhound of Beezlebub’s

was disappointed my headcanon wasn’t true ;-;

Her wings should be more noticeable

I would personally keep her design with minor edits but have the real Beezlebub be a wolf fly hybrid demon, to play off the big bad wolf tropes and have Bee be someone who represents him in public so people aren’t as wary of the gluttony ring (like how the big bad wolf in little red riding hood and the 7 kids disguised himself to be more presentable before eating them)

Last point: Pretty sure her palette is meant to be the colours of the pansexual flag

I have a lot of interests but would only say I'm a true fan of certain series. When it comes to TV/movies, my current obsession is with The Boys in the Boat, I also enjoy Band of Brothers a lot (I had a whole BoB sideblog for 6 months in 2013). I watch the Lord of the Rings Extended Editions at least once a year. I have really enjoyed House of the Dragon (I'm a big fan of the ASoIaF books and read Fire and Blood), The Queen's Gambit, The Mandalorian, Andor, and A Series of Unfortunate Events (major childhood favorite), to list some shows from recent years. My favorite movies of all time are both Wes Anderson movies: Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Grand Budapest Hotel.

I'm also a gamer, and Kingdom Hearts, The Legend of Zelda, and Fire Emblem are among my top favorites.

Salty and sweet

Pairing: Kelly kelly x Fem reader

Description: You and your girlfriend try and switch snack flavors during movie night at her place leading to the two of you baking

Kelly laughs seeing you waddle inside her home with snacks for your movie night since both of you were off for the night and hadn't spent time together in a bit due to your equally hectic schedules between the two of you. After getting drinks and picking the movie, the two of you start watching Fantastic mr fox eating your personal favorite snacks hers being cashews and yours being caramel chocolate wondering about the flavor of the cashews grabbing another pack and tasting them liking them hearing a wrapper open looking to see kelly taking a bite out of a piece of chocolate both of you surprised by thr flavors that were much different than what each of you thought it would be trading snacks back and forth the rest of the night leading to the two of you trading snacks for your days together at work enjoying her go to brand of salt pretzels and her loving your traditional strawberry hi chew gum that you chew on throughout the days at WWE even picking up on the other's snack habits. The two of you then started baking for each other from macadamia nut brownies, caramel chocolate cake, and banana pudding to pralines, coconut pie, and lemons cookies trading treats every weekend and keeping whatever each of you liked as snacks and desserts for parties and your loved ones birthdays earning many different requests to bake recipes by your friends baking certain recipes on anniversaries for Raw and Smackdown and to congratulate staff for promotions becoming friends with quite a few stylists and costume designers who made quite a few of your costumes who also loved your guy's sweets surprising them every once in awhile with their favorite sweets becoming known as the ones who bring many different sweets and everyone enjoys all your baked treats the two of you make.
