Tag Nine People You Want To Know Better

Currently reading: queen of the tiles by hanna alkaf (print) and maybe a mermaid by josephine cameron (audiobook) ((i'm a multitasker reader lol; i'm also reading a peanuts compilation ebook for funsies)

Favorite color: always pink, though my mind is of course my mind is going to autumn colors, given that we've officially changed over, so i'll say that, in that bunch, i really love me some burnt oranges and brick reds (i've developed a deep love for brick/mahogany reds ever since it was like "in" when i was 14 lol)

Last movie: i think i mentioned it already in another tag game but still the sea beast. (sorry, i don't watch movies that often! though i caught a smidge of shazam on tv today, if that counts for anything)

Currently working on: getting a new job and starting a new class (i'm at a strictly online school now which offers classes every month, so i'm first starting in october. well, actually next week so it can end by christmas. it's a jane austen class so i hope i enjoy it, i've never read her work before)

Luke likes to think of himself as being relatively fearless. He's pretty confident that he could handle most anything that life could throw at him, or at the very least he wouldn't run scared.

Earthquakes have never really bothered him, but then again the more people talk about "the big one" he does have to admit that the idea of the earth opening up and swallowing Los Angeles whole is a little terrifying.

But today's earthquake wasn't the big one. It wasn't even that high on the Richter scale, and Alex is just being a big baby.

"I am not being a big baby!" Alex argues. "I told you not to put that shelf above the bed, it's gonna fall!"

"No, it's not!" Luke replies. "It's sturdy! Besides, the earthquake is over. We're fine."

Alex rolls his eyes, intending to lecture him again about aftershocks, when the room starts shaking again. To both of their horror, the shelf does come down this time. Alex stumbles as he tries to stay upright, but Luke catches him before he falls.

When the tremors settle once more, Luke hugs Alex tightly. Both of them are shivering with adrenaline and Alex tucks his face into the crook of Luke's neck as he tries to take a deep breath to settle himself.

"You were right," Luke whispers, kissing the spot just below Alex's ear. Alex chuckles a little as he turns his head to press his mouth to Luke's.

As much as he enjoys being right, he would've preferred not to be proven right by a natural disaster. Luke kisses him back, brushing Alex's hair out of his face as he leans his forehead against Alex's.

"Thanks for catching me," Alex murmurs, smiling when Luke's grip tightens around him.

"Always."

i first found vega’s blog through her participation in the gif maker positivity meme a year ago. when i saw her gifs, i immediately knew that she was someone who wasn’t afraid to stretch outside of her comfort zone. and it’s exactly for that reason that she has grown into such an incredible gif maker. she has improved exponentially just in the past year ive known her, and that is due to hard work, dedication, and trial and error. she embraces experimentation and switches up her style constantly to expand her range of skills.

vega is an influential editor to me because in the time that we have been mutuals, her content has inspired me to try so many new things. between all the fandoms she jumps into (i love her it and jatp content especially) to all the different techniques she tries out, her influence pushes me to diversify, to experiment, and to try. the nature of art is not stagnancy and comfort, but growth and evolution. vega’s work oozes passion; you can tell she deeply loves the content she creates and the fandoms she is a part of. additionally, she is a kind and warm presence on this site, and a good friend to have in your corner. if you don’t know vega, please go check out her amazing content.

Surprisingly, this word is only in one of my fics! I feel like I have a little tendency to talk about the characters dreaming things up instead of them being real.
