She'd heard her before she actually saw her. She was berating the company clerk —a young man she’d long forgotten the name of— about the whereabouts of the new nurse that was past due to arrive. Georgia happened to be the nurse in question and had just hopped off the jeep moments ago.

Georgia popped her head around the corner to see the boy cowering in fear. She made a motion to interject and save the poor kid, but Margaret quickly shot her down, clearly not in the mood to have her anger fueled rant interrupted. So, with a bemused smile on her face, Georgia had let her go on until she’d said her piece. There was a pause while Margaret took a deep breath and let the redness in her cheeks begin to fade as she turned to Georgia who still stood waiting for her turn.

"What," Margaret finally asked, her anger having far from cooled.

"I believe I’m the nurse you’re expecting. Georgia Crane."

Embarrassed, Margaret instantly softened her tone. "Nurse Crane, of course. I thought you’d been delayed."

"Oh, I had been. Encountered some shelling along the way. Had to take a different route, but I’m here now and in one piece."

Margaret forced a smile. "So I see. Welcome. That’s a… different accent."

"Yorkshire," Georgia supplied, before she could ask. "I try to tone it down around the Americans. Easier to communicate."

Margaret nodded. "I’m sure it’s appreciated, but you shouldn’t feel the need to around me. I can understand you just fine."

"Then I think we’ll get along just great. Shall I show myself to the barracks then?"

Georgia had hoped Margaret would have offered to lead the way, but flustered and still recovering from her outburst, she merely nodded. With that Georgia had stepped out of the company clerk's office, a smile on her face. She hadn’t even gotten her name then, but she was madly in love already.

Vous devez sûrement vous en souvenir, nous avons déjà fait paraître sur le Blog des vidéos de cette célèbre et très particulière chorale (créée en 2020 pendant la pandémie de la Covid), la première qui en a inspiré beaucoup d’autres…

Celle-ci, leur dernière création, est en rapport bien sûr avec les JO de Paris qui vont commencer d’ici une dizaine de jours.

Regardez-la jusqu’au bout et si par hasard vous aviez un enfant, un petit-fils ou une petite-fille qui a participé à cette création (on ne sait jamais…), même s’ils sont plus de 200 « body-tapeurs », tous les noms sont mentionnés dans le générique de fin. Nous avons trouvé ça très bien.
