He’s head over heels for Nat, but he assumes he’s NEVER gonna get a chance with her.

As the two of them are on polar opposites, quite literally.

Even as characters, personality-wise, attitude-wise and so on, they aren’t similar in the slightest.

Nat is an alternative girl, she’s psychopathic, she’s a literal serial killer who also has ties to an eldritch god.(Slenderman, obviously…)

And, Leo’s just Leo.

Therefore NOBODY would expect Leo of all people to fall for someone like Nat.

There’s an obvious power imbalance in the relationship, God x Demigod, Immortal x Mortal.

✨️ Gabrielle de Lioncourt - based on a stunning reference pic of a ballerina, I wanted to convey her vulnerability alongside her empowerment. The moment she chose for herself to strip away the assigned clothing of her mortal life in order to fully embrace who she always was in her immortal one.

✨️ Armand, holding a Quran, paired with the verse, "He found you lost, and guided you." (93:7). Being queer religious myself I can deeply empathize with characters trying to balance a tight rope of two aspects of an identity. Here I allowed the viewer to decide if he's finding comfort as he clings to the holy texts.

✨️ Lestat in Magnus' basement ~ just before he's turned, paired with a poem about how resilience and resignation are two sides of the same coin. His face remains defiant against all odds, his body shows the results of violence, and he is surrounded by decaying death, resigned to whatever may happen next - but a kind of defiant determination not to show despair is paired with the overall composition.

This one meant a lot to me, too because I was encouraged by Tink's kind words and it was the paired with the verse: "Greater is he who acts from love than he who acts from fear." - Talmud, Sotah 31a.

✨️Louis, post Claudia, carrying the scythe after setting the coven on fire 🔥 This one is also one of my favorites and I wanted to convey the rage found in his grief, her ashes spread on him, and paired it with this verse from Job: "Therefore, I find myself reprehensible, and I will do penance in embers and ashes."

✨️ the next one was another birthday gift, this one for Anna featuring one of the best characters ever, Will Graham! I wanted to experiment with monochromatic colors to give him a classical vibe reminiscent of ancient Greek statues, and still add pops of color with the gold laurel crown. The drip affect was an aesthetic choice, but I think it paired well with the artistic vibes of the show. Hannibal had once implied they were like Achilles and Patroclus, but which one is which? I left that one up to the viewer 😘

✨️ And lastly, but certainly not least, one of my favorite, fun, for the vibes of epicness pieces - Lestat on a rock magazine cover for Brielle’s IWTV BB fic ❤️ I loved playing with the fashion aspect, and found the most fun reference photo for the pose. Hi. Me again. I've been thinking and reading a lot recently about Tears of the Kingdom, and the possible... implications that its story has, and I would like your opinion on them. I would have simply sent you the posts I've read, but it'll be quicker if I give you an abridged version of the talking points. So with that said, if you're interested, let's begin:

First and foremost, Rauru. I already asked you about your thoughts on him, and I loved your answer, but I'd like to look a bit deeper into what he represents.

So, for starters, about the Zonai as a race. I've seen the claim that the whole setup behind them about coming down from the sky and being worshipped as gods could be seen as colonialism. I think the only way that's true is if they were oppressing the people of the world, and we don't have any evidence of that, but some people think the lack of evidence means it must have happened. I don't really know what to say to that.

Since Rauru is the founder of Hyrule, you can see why I find that a little concerning. It's not clear if he adopted Hylian culture, or if Hyrule is fundamentally built on Zonai customs, but I figure its a question worth asking. And if it is built on Zonai customs, does that not imply that whatever Hylian culture was got erased?

Secondly, the Secret Stones. Rauru having the monopoly on them makes him the single most powerful being of his era. Is the fact that he is also the king not a little concerning in the face of that? Like, I've seen the argument made that people might simply have followed him because they were afraid he would wipe their races off the map otherwise. I don't think that's something he would do, but still, he and Sonia flaunt theirs like jewelry.

There's also the statement that he was apparently repeatedly inviting Ganondorf to form an alliance. Firstly, why would they need to have an alliance? There doesn't appear to be any external threat. Secondly, no matter how friendly these invitations may have been, there is still the undercurrent of "if you don't, I could wipe the desert off the map" thanks to the stones.

I've seen the claim that everything about the Zonai and Rauru's role in the story could be seen as pro-imperialist propaganda. I don't want to believe that, but I'm curious as to what your take is.

I had more to ask, but this is getting pretty long, so I'll leave it there for now.

Okay— the Zonai and Rauru’s role in Hyrule is one that I have honestly stayed away from. Simply for the fact that we don’t have a lot of information regarding either. So I’ll refrain from theorizing for the most part and simply rely on my critical literary thinking skills in order to discuss this without being completely biased (at least I will try my hardest)

For one— Rauru and Mineru are the last two Zonai and keepers of the Secret Stones. That brings SO MANY questions. How do the Zonai fit into Hyrule’s history? What are Secret Stones and why does only Rauru have access to them? What happened to the Zonai?

The Zonai are a people still so mysterious to Hyrulians nowadays and a thought to be extinct race (technically Zelda is very, very, very distantly part Zonai). Zonai thought to be gods… Now we are heading into theory land but it is very interesting to think of Hyrule’s history. While Hylians are supposedly the race closed to the gods, there was another race mentioned before in the Zelda universe that was even closer to the Gods. NOW I’m not saying the Oocca are the Zonai— but it shows us that there are races to be expanded upon in the Zelda verse and possible other gods or goddesses we do not know about.

The Zonai are thought to be Gods by Hylians… and the Hylians have a bloodline that shares the blood of a goddess. While we see a very loving relationship between Sonia and Rauru, it would honestly make sense if it was purposefully set up in this manner for them to be the first King and Queen of Hyrule. And as we see, Sonia and Rauru do wear their secret stones… but in a kingdom newly founded with an enemy in the south west whose malicious intent has been noted… doesn’t it make sense to wear the secret stones?

If I’m not mistaken, Ganondorf isn’t aware of other stones. Why would he go through the entire hassle of impersonating Zelda and killing the Queen for her secret stone if there were MULTIPLE just hidden away? Because he doesn’t know about them. He chose the weakest and targeted their stone and succeeded in stealing it.

While it is true that Rauru is keeper of these stones, we never see him monopolize them and keep them to himself. Had it been a pro-imperialism narrative, he wouldn’t have delegated them out to the others. He would have used their power for his own gain and forced his rule upon the entire land. His show against Ganondorf was simply a king protecting his people, with the aid of Zelda and Sonia sharing their power with his. It’s to force the secret stones into action— to show both us and Ganondorf that they are powerful. Naturally, it becomes the main motivation for Ganondorf in his quest to rule over Hyrule.

And the comment of Rauru repeatedly requesting Ganondorf’s presence… that was made AFTER the Modulga attack. It was Rauru repeatedly trying to peacefully discuss the attack and Ganondorf’s intent. It was not a threat. It was a basic way to hold out a hand and see if the true malicious intent is still there. And Rauru confirms it is with Ganondorf’s presence. He knows he must prepare for battle because he extended a hand, knowing it would be taken despite a knife being hidden away just waiting to strike Rauru and the rest of Hyrule down.

And as for culture, we do see that the Hyrule Zelda finds herself in is a mix of Zonai and Hylian culture. Had it been just the Zonai culture, we would have seen remnants of that reflected in the Hyrule before the Great Calamity. Instead, we only find the rare mention of the Zonai and ruins scattered upon Hyrule. Remember that Rauru and Mineru were the last of the Zonai— implementing and erasing Hyrulian culture isn’t at all supported by any details found in the game nor is a feasible feat.

Rauru isn’t meant to represent colonialism nor head a pro-imperialism narrative. He is meant to represent a King who did everything right by Zelda and in the end by his people. He makes mistakes of course, but he is the supportive guide for both Zelda and Link that King Rhoam never truly could be. The Zonai’s place in Hyrule’s history has yet to be truly discovered and I suspect we won’t gain many answers until the next Zelda game. Of course, there may be more information in the ToTK Official Guide, but we won’t know until it releases.

Naturally, I could be wrong, but I find that in a series with a character such as Ganondorf who exemplifies tyrannical, imperial characteristics… and is constantly fought against… the odds are far more in the favor of Rauru and the Zonai being a mysterious race we do not know much about beyond that they helped establish the modern day Hyrule and married into the family that holds the blood of the goddess 🤷‍♀️ and that the last two remaining Zonai would have done anything for Zelda and supported her choices no matter what

PORTRAYAL NOTES

in terms of her genshin verse, i will mainly be operating within the parameters set by gnostic hymn. herta will have a puppet placed in teyvat and will be controlling it remotely (do NOT ask how she managed it, she's just built different). everything else about her remains the same, maybe just lowered to a smaller scale as she does not have the material wealth that she has in hsr so she can't really do most of the things she wants to. she'll definitely try, though.

speaking of the puppet: while herta herself uses she/her pronouns, the puppet uses it/itself on account of the fact that... well, it's a puppet. i enjoy making this distinction in my prose (talking about herta vs talking about her vessel) and would appreciate you doing the same!

herta is crass. she is difficult to speak with because she does not really care much for pleasantries, especially with strangers. she'll only really be invested in a conversation if she finds the person she's speaking to interesting, or if she's working with them directly for whatever reason. otherwise, it may take a bit of prodding to get her to be responsive.

slightly related to the note above: she does have a tendency to objectify people, or to reduce them to her perceived value of them. while it won't go too far, it might still feel abrasive, so i ask that you please do not take this as a slight against your muse. this is just something she does as a character.

7. What triggers nostalgia for Azrael, most often? Does he enjoy that feeling?

Food, I think! He didn't grow up with many good memories but food has always been very comforting throughout his childhood. Hmm, I believe that he does! It's more along the lines of bittersweetness.

Asmodeus - To go to uni unwillingly...He was forced by his brother to pursue his degree. xD But getting to hang out with his friends and go to football practice makes going there worthwhile!

A) Why are you excited about this character?

Azrael - It's honestly just because I have always been very obsessed with Death. The Angel of Death is my absolute favourite "being" and they are automatically my favourite in whatever media they appear in.

My Azrael has gone through many changes over the years and my love and excitement for him has not stopped growing. He's just a character that ticks all the boxes for me! :>

Asmodeus - He actually makes me so damn happy- It makes no sense to me honestly! xD Is it weird to say that Asmo makes me want to become a better person? He's a kind, sweet and bubbly character that views the world in such a positive light...It's nice.

B) What inspired you to create them?

All of my OCs are actually AU versions of my Angel-verse! Hence, the (weird) biblical names!! I've changed most of their names to better suit the modern setting (e.g. Amadeo, Belvan, Josias etc.) which is reflected in all the VNs they've appeared in. And I'm sure you can tell that I can't seem to change my habit of calling them by their biblical names... xD

Thus I was inspired by the angels and demons to create my OCs' earliest renditions...But for the Uni-verse? I made the decision to move them over because it's just easier for me to create and develop them. (Without getting too many unwanted comments from people because it touches on religion...I unfortunately shared it with irl people that weren't very open-minded so I just stopped. That was late-2014 I think aklsdfjalksdf)

I was in uni at the time and I have always been into Mafia-related media so I guess I just mixed both of those together! :>

Ooh such interesting characters! I'll do my best to answer, please bare in mind this is from my own takes on the Recruiters and of course are in no way "canon". Feel free to take or leave whatever details you prefer!

Maflie and Malachite: Malfie is always excited to meet any other version of himself, the only ones he could ever consider as beautiful as himself would be other versions of himself. They'd both hit it off quickly, friendly enough and of course sharing a special bond. I think they'd enjoy conversations about books together, relaxing together and just each other's company in general. Malfie is a little more quiet about who is dear to him but I think he would admire how Malachite loves openly.

Ms. Hades and Cece: Ms. Hades might start out as standoffish because she is weary of someone so similar to her. But after being able to get to know each other, they might enjoy sneaky little sessions of gossiping about their family (blood or found family both).

Ms. Hades isn't too well versed in video games but I think if Cece were to introduce them to her, they would make a good team and have a lot of fun together.

Apple and Vince: I see them just sitting next to each other and you think they're both antisocial but really it's just that they're comfortable in the silence. They don't need to speak much to know they can be relaxed around each other- this might make it hard to get close to them though.

If you put them in a kitchen I think you'd be surprised how well they'd suddenly get along. It sounds like they have similar tastes and would actually quite like cooking for everyone.

Farja and Nadia: Birds of a feather, that's the expression right? I imagine these two would become loud and fun from the get go. They'd want to party together all the time and show off their style and beautiful hair to anyone and everyone that will listen- and likely those that won't as well.

I think the two would be a lot of fun, maybe to the disdain of some of the others haha! They'd probably go out together all the time, going to eat yummy foods, shopping for clothes, getting their hair done, etc!

Eightfoot and Joe: These two may get along the least, but not because they don't like each other, they're both just quite dedicated to their work. I think they'd moan and groan at each other, Eightfoot would probably just pity Joe as another slave to his work- even though they are in the same boat.

They will get along well enough when they have to, and I think they silently like each other's company but ultimately are too set in their own ways to be too buddy-buddy.

hello all! my name's cas, and i'm looking for some fellow 21+ writers who would potentially like to form a close-knit little writing group on a private jcink site.

i'm thinking mainly of having a little sandbox style site with mini sites built in, where we would have the potential to kind do whatever we want, but there's also the possibility to create our own little universes as well. if this sounds like something you'd be interested in, take a peek below the break for some more info!

high fantasy — primarily inspired by the likes of got/hotd/lotr/eragon/etc and other similar fantasy stories, i'm imaging a world with multiple kingdoms, creatures, and all sorts of lore we could build out. primarily focused on court intrigue as well as a touch of classic fantasy drama, i would love to create a cast of characters to expand and fill out this world more.

supernatural — an open lore based world, i've had this idea rolling around in my head for some time. in this world anything goes for creatures, whether inspired by other cultures or simply a creation of your own imagination. but there would be an overarching plot revolved around a magical town and other subplots for us to take part in! (in that same vein though i'd love something simple too with just like a classic wolf pack dynamic!)

sci-fi — this is also quite a bit more open, but more in the sense of space exploration. inspired by the likes of dune and the robinsons, think space exploration but with a touch of plot as well re: some revolution elements. space pirates, androids, and all sorts of things are welcome! this one has a lot open in terms of world-building as well.

all this being said, these three are by no means the only things we could jump into, but rather a jumping off point! i want to encourage a place where all of us can develop these worlds as we see fit, and make something we all truly love! if you're interested, please feel free to like this post or shoot me a message and we can chat on discord!

Ok, the question: In any verse be it canon or au, if Seto had been too late to stop something like that from happening to Jou, or even if he was forced to watch, how would they both deal with that? Would Jou close up emotionally? Would Seto be angry at himself? Etc. Just how do you think the aftermath would go

Sure, I have no problem talking about that here as this is an ask made in good faith. If I'm willing to publicly post fic about it, I'm okay talking about what goes into constructing that fictional scenario.

So I don't think much about noncon except in specific AUs. Cuz honestly, doing something like that to either of my faves makes me kinda sad when it's their canon(-adjacent) selves.

But Lure and all its myriads of little terrible spinoffs? That's where I like to stow the rest of my darkfic writing inclinations anyway.

Soooo there is a noncon story idea for Lure which is tentatively set late in Year 2, so months after Tributary and Fill me with sweetness and cream. The setup is that Jounouchi is kidnapped and used as a hostage to extort money from Kaiba. Kaiba receives both photos and videos of Jounouchi being beaten and raped. It is also a revenge ploy against both of them executed by Hirutani crawling out of the woodwork.

The main focus of the story is on what happens afterward, though, after Jounouchi has been rescued. Now, this is a universe where Jounouchi understands himself as mainly having value to Kaiba in sexual terms. Yeah, they have a weird twisted affection growing between them like fungus at this point (trauma bonding yay), but Jounouchi is still Kaiba's pet first and foremost. While he was kidnapped, he was pretty sure he wasn't even going to be rescued.

And now? His worth is devalued in a way. What if Kaiba no longer wants him after this? Considers him broken? Kicks him to the street? Jounouchi is worried about how this can impact his material future because he is still dependent on Kaiba for housing and food. Yes, there's also the messy emotional stuff in the background, hitting some old fears about being abandoned and discarded.

Kaiba is enraged with the situation. But in this case, he also has specific culprits to blame and punish, which will become the main target of his rage. (Hirutani not gonna have a good time to put it lightly lol). Surprisingly, he's not mad at Jounouchi, though. He understands Jounouchi as having resisted and fought back to the best of his abilities.

But as for how he acts toward Jounouchi? A little brisk at time, but no more than before. He is careful not to touch Jounouchi, and mostly leaves Jounouchi alone to recover in his room. Because that's what he should do in this case??? Lure!Kaiba trying to reach for some compassion here and executing clumsily. Because in his view, whatever shit he may have dubconed Jounouchi into in the past, he never raped-raped Jounouchi. He's not going to force himself on an injured person. He's not a complete monster, kthnx.

Hilariously (or not so hilariously), Kaiba's clumsy attempts at compassion make Jounouchi feel worse. Because Kaiba doesn't seek him out as much or touch him, does that mean he no longer wants Jounouchi? It sharpens Jounouchi's desperation. He's not horny or aroused per se, but he is looking for signs that Kaiba still intends to keep him around. Because if Kaiba won't have sex with him, what worth does he still have to him?

Not to mention the cognitive dissonance of "what is wrong with me? I literally got raped last week but I'm losing my mind wishing someone, well Kaiba, forces himself on me but in a way that I like."

Obviously, this is untenable in the long run. They're individually so emotionally volatile for their own reasons. Eventually, Kaiba does want to fuck Jounouchi rabid because he's a possessive bastard (Jounouchi is his dammit!), and ironically that's probably what will give Jounouchi the most peace of mind in this moment (reinforces he still has "value").

So part of the reason neither of them has made any move on the other is because they've been waiting for the results of Jounouchi's STD tests, which can take up to 2-4 weeks for the most major concerns. They have literally never gone that long without sex since they first started. So once Jounouchi's results finally come back clean, he gets it into his head that he needs to just rip off the band-aid and seduce Kaiba. If Kaiba's willing to fuck him, then maybe he's still good. If he won't, well, then he knows his days are numbered.

Kaiba has been waiting on the results for another reason. Because it's going to affect how he makes Hirutani suffer for what he did.

Ultimately, Kaiba will also offer Jounouchi a chance to take some revenge for himself. Hand him the knife, if you will.

And that's all I'm going to say about this one in case I ever do write this one in full.

Like I said, this is a scenario very specific to their characterization in this AU. But I tend to think Kaiba, even canon-wise, is quite capable of some murderous tendencies when presented with the proper motive.

I've been asked similar questions like this before and for the entire year my answer to this question has always been Spectral Friends by Maraton and most likely will always be this song.

That being said this is going to be a little different when comparison to the other times I've answered this in in the past. So Buckle up this is about to get long because the topic is Kumo and music.

I have always said Spectral Friends because it hits Kumo's issues with Ghost Mentality so square in the face. The last repeating line of the song is

"I'm a Ghost but then you'd never know."

and damn that line just hits him dead on. For the majority of the year, I've been writing him again Kumo has clung to the idea of already being dead. It's been his way of survival as strange as that is. He told himself if he already died then he doesn't have to deal with the trials and tribulations of being alive and one of those things being emotions.

Another section of Spectral Friends:

We are spectral friends And I want you to know, you know We're haunting while the others breathe and grow We are spectral friends tonight And it's our job to make it right Beneath the void, with you and I

This song largely hits on both his Ghost Mentality and his relationship with Kaze. "It's our job to make it right, Beneath the void, with you and I."

Please note how to the song says "We're Haunting" and "We are" and in Kumo's mind that reflects against himself AND Kaze. In his mind they are both dead men.

So yeah, Spectral Friends hits him square in the fucking chest, and honestly if you were to shift your way through his playlist you would find yourself A LOT of songs revolving around ghosts, monsters, dying, hauntings, the living dead, etc. He's got a theme you see, and that theme is the fact be doesn't consider himself as a living being -

Until recently and a different song crawled into his life and this one too can't go without mentioning. BURY ME ALIVE by Neoni

This one came for him and hit him dead on too. This one got looped for many many days. This one captures both is Ghost Mentality and his desire to not live that way anymore. "Cause I'm living like I already died." // "I'm begging for a feeling but I'm hollow inside."

But then the bridge of this song hits HARD:

Going insane, yeah, I'm begging and I'm pleading just to get free But I'm so empty, oxygen is running low, no, I can't breathe Would somebody save me? Kumo has been so difficult lately because he hasn't been relying on his Ghost Mentality as a survival technique. He's acknowledged he needs help with things and that he can't keep doing things as a one man show. He wants him from His Other but he's not getting it so he feels like he's losing his mind.

And with the way Main Verse is set up and Chaos /Anarchy able to whisper whatever they hell they want into Kumo's ears whenever they want the man really feels like he's losing his mind.

He's been struggling between the idea of actually being alive and just being a ghost that exists to solve a problem of unfinished business and he can't talk to anyone about it because the one person he shares a space with most often won't listen.
