6. which one of your muses have you been playing the longest? 4. is there a muse that not a lot of people roleplay with?

Destiney of course. Granted she's changed a bit with each new world or story she's been a part of. But she officially got the name Destiney in my days on FFXI. She had a bit of a story on XI but nothing really solid because I was more into the endgame/raiding scene than I was RP during that time in my life. (I was big into RP during HS and for a little while after till life was being terrible for a time.) So naturally she was my first RP character on XIV when I finally gave up the raiding scene entirely.

Before that she had a few other lives but under a couple different names as I went from HS to being an adult. (Namely she was Christine and Gingitsune at one point or another. I haven't written anything for those character variations in a long time though.)

Clearly not always an elf. Depending on how I could get a character to look in making them. But her first creation as a Sailor Senshi she was a twin back then (just not with the other character I showed her with and I made changes later to the other character in that image). The ones I picked to share are the ones I would (or have in the case of her Senshi form) have written fan fiction for. There are also clearly more than just these variations. Some of them I just don't have images to share.

I suppose that would be at least half my characters available. Mostly for a lack of real effort to put them out there. Destiney was my FC character for the longest time. Lance came along after her. Alex after that. (Stefan existed but not as a full character till later.) So those three got the most attention for the longest. Stefan eventually became my FC character as Destiney became a mother and took a step away from the dangerous life being in the company entailed.

Alex ended up being my main character for fight events outside of the FC. I often took him to Gin Mill and that was how he grew closer to his wife. Sometimes I took Keaira instead if Sanagi wasn't available.

Aryn has become my usual for Glitter Hall. I tend to bounce between a couple of characters for Story Hall. And mix it up for the Cracked Cluster depending on who I feel up to.

So it's not fair to say there is a character a lot won't roleplay with since I could definitely have made more effort on my part too.

Recently graduated hs, so here's some of the art I've done over the past couple years

Based on the Storm in @comicaurora , made of foam board and acrylic and tempera paint

Paper (old AP euro notes), cardboard, hot glue, and one wire to support the wings

Wood, acrylic paint, varnish (clock based on FFXIV aetheryte)

the absolute journey of me raiding in ffxiv is just me being dragged into things bc i have a hard time saying "no" like

plays ffxiv so consistently that an irl friend i hadnt talked to since hs msgs me to say that he noticed i play a lot -> invites me to play w other hs friends -> agree but didnt know he was srs about it

he asks me to join him for an extreme (slightly harder than regular content) -> nervously accepts and we clear a fight on 5 pulls that they struggled in for 3 hours straight the day before

he invites me to a raid server -> too shy to sign up for anything -> other friend drags me into a fight (thordan extreme) bc they needed a fill -> is exceptionally quiet and anxious -> does badly

refuses to sign up for anything ever again -> asked to fill as tank for a savage fight (much harder than regular content and extremes) -> anxiously accepts -> the fight is called off bc they couldnt find a final fill, i celebrate

they AGAIN need a fill for the next week and ask me last minute bc they have no one else, sadly accepts -> we dont clear but i had fun so i sign up for the next session -> we clear the next week and i sign up for the next savage fight bc it was hard but fun

this is now a weekly thing and i sign up for other organized events, everyone in the group recognizes me and calls me their friend

my old hs friend (also in the group) invites me into an ultimate static -> i decline and feel sad but proud for putting my foot down -> he insists bc the ppl who weve been playing with also had me as their first choice -> i accept bc ok he did stroke my ego there

im in an ultimate static now (MUCH harder than savage and entirely diff from regular content), our main tank is sad that im not his constant off tank buddy, still a bad player but i have the best dps in our group (somehow), life can be ok...

argggh i can't stop it. It's happening. having forbidden FFXIV classpect thoughts. Hydaelyn and Zodiark as our cherub equivalents. Meanwhile, events in Elpis result in a Mobius Double Reach-Around pair of interlinked sessions between the Scions and the Unsundered, which are largely asynchronous and separate and link up only around the time of ARR through EW. spoilers through 6.0.

WoL: Knight of Hope (one who wields hope as a weapon. Hope is canonically an extremely powerful aspect and linked to elemental light and the power of belief. Brilliant Conviction, the canonical warrior of light buff, is extremely Hope energy. Also, since light is juxtaposed against despair in the Big Answers Monologue, the Warrior of Light represents not the aspect Light, which is luck and knowledge, but Hope)

Minfilia (& Ryne): Heir of Light (literally everything about Minfilia and Ryne points to this it is almost impossible to ignore. Also again, Homestuck Light represents luck and foresight and this ties to both Minfilia's time as Word of the Mother and Ryne's role as the Oracle)

Alphinaud: Prince of Blood (one who destroys relationships and alliances, see the Crystal Braves, but also one who destroys through or using alliances, see everything after that. Also, all the Princes destroy their aspect in themselves at some point, and ARR Alphinaud is absolutely a bloodless technocrat in all senses)

Alisaie: Rogue of Breath (an outlaw Rogue in contrast to Alphinaud's noble Prince but also because the Rogues are generally affable, unpretentious, and natural adepts of their aspects. Breath stands for freedom, flight, and change. The curing of tempering not only figuratively steals back the breath of Halric and all the tempered (and the porxie animation is even sort of a symbolic transfer of breath), but also restores their freedom and marks perhaps the greatest change to the setting's status quo)

Thancred: Bard of Mind (mind deals with thought, possible futures, the paralysis of choice. The bard allows destruction of their aspect and invites destruction through their aspect. It is difficult to sum up how I think this applies but consider both Thancred, paralyzed by his failure to save Warburton, and also the image of the Fatebreaker. Also he's literally a bard)

Y'shtola: Witch of Void (witch is obvious. Void stands in for forbidden knowledge, obscured things, darkness. Connects to both her personal drive to uncover the hidden things of the world and her time as spiritual leader to the Night's Blessed. Also on a meta level we know the least about her because she is underdeveloped lmao)

Urianger: Seer of Doom (lay-up)

Estinien: Maid of Rage (both the HS Maids are naturals of their aspects, and also go sorta corrupted or weird in relation to it. also the idea of Estinien as Nidhogg's handmaiden (as well as Handmaid) makes a lot of sense to me)

G'raha: Page of Time (again, a lay-up, but note that Pages have the potential to be among the most powerful given time and development. Also as the Exarch has many parallels to Hydaelyn thematically)

Elidibus: Sylph of Heart (Heart deals with identity, the soul, motivation, but also self-knowledge through others. Also Elidibus is a little bit damsel-coded imo)

Emet-Selch: Mage of Space (BEHOLD, A SORCERER OF ELD and also the close narrative link to Zodiark)

Lahabrea: Thief of Life (steals life, as Hephaestus made life. Also life has thematic links to the march of progress and the exertion of will, and through the Condesce and Betty Crocker, power and its abuse (impeach Lahabrea))

The Great Video Game Strike

"Why is it you only play HearthStone and some other minor games despite deeply wanting to play the [Good Games] again?"

Because I'm the "Union Leader" of Striking Game Professionals. And; they've been waiting for me to speak on the topic.

Not as big of news as say "The Actors" strike, so we had to wait much longer.

I, and several Prominent Players and video Game Streamers and Enthusiasts either put playing games on hold; or greatly reduced the the number of "AAA" titles we play (As much as possible)

What we noticed, and have been feeling for a long time; is that our efforts in curating an in-game community and assisting other players were largely going unrewarded and unnoticed.

Effectively; because we love the playing the games so much; we were responsible for building the Game Communities, and a large reason why certain games would either "Stay Afloat" or "Sink".

We've been in negotiations with several prominent Game Developers and Producers about the topic; and trying to come to an equitable conclusion.

We had to wait a long time for our efforts to be noticed as Triple-A title after Triple-A title failed and Big Game Devs suffered many hardships due to this.

Part of it is because many of us have many friends in the game industry; and we were very upset with how they've been treated this far.

The rest of it; and we've proved it by hitting their wallets, while they cry "You'll come crawling back to us" like the virtual drug dealers they are...

No Offense; We at war, gotta be Antagonistic.

Leaving our in-game communities was deeply depressing and traumatizing as many of our social connections were severed.

But hey; If you were paying some publisher to work for them? You'd feel the same way to.

Many of us engaged in the creation of Tutorials to assist new players, Mentorship programs to help those players grow, both in-game and in their own personal development.

We've even given A LOT of free advertising to the games we enjoy to play.

And besides valueless in-game items, and the same "Level Ups" every player gets playing the game solo; we haven't really been compensated for the Value we've given to Developers and Publishers.

It's like... Paying DisneyLand to go to their parks to dress up as their Mascots and help their customers navigate their parks.

It's work we'd gladly do for free; but that's still not very fair to us. As many Games would have gone out of business without us.

Case-In-Point; "FF14-1"

And despite FF14;ARR not really updating core game mechanics; we built communities there and devoted massive amounts of free labor, time, and energy to the communities we love.

If the game doesn't really get updated, what do you think has changed between iterations? Sure there's new content; and despite *some* of the stories being engaging for us

...that's not the whole reason you succeeded is it?

It's us.

And as Games like WoW make MILLIONS off of singular "Glamour" items... None of it actually went to the people who kept the in-game community afloat.

The Developers Abused their Employees, and their Player Base; thinking solely about their own profits.

And we left; Knowing the damage it would cause, because y'all don't really care about us or *how* your money is made.

I have that guilty pleasure in Hearthstone, sue me.

But; It was to drive the point home; now that I've all but become bored with HS; what are those player stats looking like?

Yoshi-P-Sensei told it to me like this;

"We looked at our data, and when *you* would leave for six months, probably for your deployments, our revenue and user engagement would drop. We didn't know it was you at first...

And then *Six Months* later; You would come back, and our Players would all come back and we'd be back in the "Green" Again.

And the you left for PSO2; and the SEGA executives told us that you had started playing their game; and all of a sudden... Their community was THRIVING.

But; you stopped playing PSO2 and shortly after FFXIV, we were expecting that *six month* hiatus window to hold strong, and it did not.

And it kept getting worse as all our neglected "Pro Players" also left."

We desperately want to come back and support our communities again; but the truth is; just like every other striking group out there; we can't afford to.

It's fiscally responsible to get our own income in order and hopefully... Get Jobs that pay us what we're worth.

But; if we're not paid for our efforts in our communities; we'd rather spend that money that would go to "subscription fees" and "micro transactions" into building our own games and communities.

Which we know for a fact would simply out-compete your communities. Because we're the community leaders. And we know what players want that you've been ignoring.

It's just the nature of the world currently. We can afford to make our own game; more than we can afford to make yours profitable.

And we're taking our BlackJack and hookers with us.

stuff about the beast tribes in old ffxiv (ARR or HS; idk about 1.0) was usually racist but occasionally fascinating. like their very existence brought on the question of how to cohabitate peacefully with these people who thought, spoke, and acted in ways that seem alien to us, and who still have legitimate goals (often at odds with ours) and essential human dignity and internal politics and so on.

when done well, it was an interesting part of the setting. when done poorly it was "here's why colonial relations are fine". nowadays? most beastmen are kinda just as if you had randomly selected a NPC's race and it chose "birdman". it's a lot smoother overall but it's completely lost those interesting glimmers of the edgier, grittier setting.

i had an oc named emily that i shipped with splendid actually. she ended up becoming a non htf oc i used for some lil booklets i wrote in the 3rd grade. i was also under 13 and on 13+ sites bc i was stupid and im 99% sure emily's best friend in that series had the same name and a similar design to a friends htf oc.

i ended up reusing them for a kids book project in a sociology class back in hs. im sad i didn't get to keep it rip

i also apparently had two others named smokey the cat and alex the dog according to an old youtube account? but idr ever making them.

i also submitted a lilac cat named felicity i drew in ms paint to the voting competition lmao.

all of them - except felicity had hair. but tbf i also gave my sonic ocs hair (in the vain of honey the cat, i think her name was) bc i felt weird with them being 'bald'

and smurb (i used some htf oc maker to make him, he was gonna be the masot of a happy tree friends oc rating tumblr blog which since turned into a blog i reblog things to so i can save them for later)

the tomodachi life-esque apartment in my mind has somehow gotten even funnier. ray and tsubasa invite shizuo and izaya to meet the new ppl who moved into the building. they knock on the door. the door opens and there stand lifty and shifty from happy tree friends. there is a long silent pause. someone shuts the door. there is more silence.

finally tsubasa says 'were those fucking two anthropromorphic green raccoons'

everyone goes back to their apartments, confused as all hell.

if i used tiktok id probably make a video of my 3ds closed on my bed and my lifty and shifty plushes sitting in front of it and me going 'okay boys its time for you to get an education :) lets learn about Pokemon War' and i open the 3ds and its pokemon conquest

it just cuts to them looking at each other with 'wtf' and '???' overlayed.

so far they've just stayed on my bedside shelf but i want to be silly with them

if this had eyelashes and an actual more human hairstyle + clothes it would be emily (she had green hair 4 a while according to old doink to youtube uploads but i swear she originally had blue hair + i think the cat club version had blue hair and the version of her i used for my childrens book project in sociology class in hs was based on the cat club version of her and therefor had blue hair)
