#FFXIV #FinalFantasyXIV #Erenvahl #wolship #WoL x Erenville #X'vahl Tia #Erenville #Dawntrail spoilers #7.0 spoilers #AHHHHHHH!#So much to say about this one omg #so first of all *THIS* is the one I've been so excited about since I finished 7.0 #X'vahl's 'I'm not leaving you' line is a direct callback to when Erenville told *him* that waaaaaay back in part 20 in the pre-DT days #(let me tell you the moment I realized that I could make that callback I think I just about fell out of my chair with excitement lol)#I've also been so careful not to have the word 'love' appear at all up until this point #(even in Yak T'el they canonically didn't say 'love' out loud.#X'vahl is one of those people who is very careful about who and when he uses that word with in a romantic context).#it is however something that X'vahl has known for a while but he's been too afraid to say out loud up until this exact moment.#He was so scared that as soon as he said it out loud there would be no going back #but there's been no going back for him for a while now and he's known it but he had to work up the courage to actually admit it to himself.#Also I'm aware that there's a good chance they'll be taking Erenville away from us shortly #and while X'vahl may be called away for WoL business #he will always return to Erenville #so the promise is more a vow that the love is there and it's not going anywhere no matter how physically far they might be from one another #Erenville is so far beyond giving a shit that the other three are there watching this whole scene unfold #like they are just not registering in his brain at the moment #a couple of these shots are from waaaaaay back when I was doing testing shots for this scene #and I'm so glad that they seem to seamlessly fit in with the newer ones. :')#Also looooool not me listening to Utada Hikaru's 'Don't Think Twice' on repeat while posing and editing this.

#ffxiv #ancients #endwalker spoilers #emet selch #lahabrea #azem #azem oc #apollo #dionysus #hemitheos dionysus because I like the thought that anyone with soul sight will look at him #and they get to be jumpscared by what i like to personally imagine as a winged embodiment of void or the abyss #I would say the moon but within the context of FFXIV the moon isnt actually a normal astral body #though like azem/apollo and the role of the sun #I write dionysus to be the astrological moon #a character who represents the subconscious and the self- who often sees and brings out the worst in those around him #how I basically describe as being around him will break you to your barest so you can remake yourself into something better than before #unfortunately for the convocation he is also an antithesis to their ways and their biggest critic- out of love- funnily enough #also dont mind the idea that magic (especially creation magic) is so deeply ingrained that the idea of manual work is surprising to people #dionysus has to constantly use his aether to suppress his power he's either doing things by hand or sleeping #ancient zenos does not get to escape the sleepy curse #weird vintner in the mountains found lounging off in the middle of his vineyard #emet expecting dion to be the problem out of the duo until he realizes that /apollo/ is the overprotective cryptic and chaotic weirdo #with the power to stop an active volcano #and dion is the chill and collected hardworking man who despite everything is more human than most #tbh this was mostly inspired by the scenes with thordan and varis and how they react to WoL and Zenos in those moments #for dion/zenos it is their being while on the flip side for WoL/Azem it is their choices and the expression of such choices

Then Vs. Now

2019 - The first screenshot Viedyn was created to ensure I had a connection to FFXIV that would make me want to play. He was the older brother of another OC, Durafein, who was a Drow from a TTRPG.

Viedyn was originally a ranger type character who used a bow/arrow as well as a sword. In the "lore" I made for him he held a choke point during the fall of his noble house but he was eventually slain. FFXIV was meant to be some "other life, after life, reincarnation, whatever" but that incident was always going to be his past and his face was scarred to reflect that.

2021 - Timeline split I switched to DNC and moved to a "friends only" FC that wanted to interact with Viedyn's character. So he sort of got his own "What If?" episode where he escaped the fall of his house. I tried to force "dancer" to fit his lore. It was a huge stretch and a big part of me regrets it. However it works for AU purposes, my FC needed a "softer" version of him.

2024 - What then should have been He's been reverted to his "canon/living" state. To better reflect his protective role within his house he wears heavy black armor and fights with a sword and shield. He wears a silver circlet to mark his position as the right hand of the Matron as well as (essentially) Captain of the house guard/troops.

The scars on his face have been removed, his hair has been cut short for combat, and his eyes have been changed to an "icy" blue to reflect the descriptions I've written of him as well as his canon personality. Thank you @vmbral for tagging me!
