A little list of OC Asks based on various literary genres.

Action and Adventure:

Is your OC particularly "heroic"? What does that word mean to them? Have they always seen it as something to aspire to - or perhaps as a fate to be avoided?

Does your OC enjoys travelling to new places and challenging themselves with new experiences? Or would they sooner stick to the comforting and the familiar?

Is your OC more likely to be the rescuer, or the one in need of rescue? Have they ever found themselves in either role? Or perhaps both?

How dynamic is your OC? Are they quick to leap into action? Or are they more sluggish or sedate?

How handy is your OC in a fight? Could they give a good account of themselves in a brawl? Or are they more likely to hide under a table?

Romance and Erotica:

Does your OC utilise their looks to get their own way? Or is it more often the case that their appearance is a hindrance to their ability to connect with others?

Welcome back, Mayncient!

If this is your first time here, the concept is that many people have ancients that are not Azem and would like to participate in an appreciation month, and so last year I hosted this with the help of the FFXIV Swap Discord.

This year I'm doing things a little different. I decided to do three lists of ten prompts each, unnumbered so you can do them in any order you'd like. You can mix and match the lists, combine prompts from the different lists, whatever you want to do. If you decide to stick to ten prompts, then that gives roughly three days to do each prompt, which helps include people with longer form art like writing. Or, if you're a gposer or draw really fast or decided one write-every-day month challenge per year isn't enough, you can do all thirty, leaving you with one free day.

Oh, and why didn't I label the lyrics, you ask? Science. I want to see how people interpret these lines in a vacuum. :3

My only ancient OC is Azem, can I participate?

Of course! We created mayncient to be more inclusive, not less. If you want to participate with Azem, go for it! After all, even Azem wasn't always Azem.

Can I include other ancients in my art?

Absolutely! We are appreciating ancients of all kinds here, and if they have friends or lovers you want to pose/draw/write them with, do it!

Vegetable Symbolism OC Questions!

A little list of OC questions based on the symbolism of Vegetables in the interpretation of dreams. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all cultural or symbolic meanings, but rather just a small selection for entertainment, rather than educational, purposes. It may, however, encourage you to make a salad.

Carrot: Growth, Fertility, and New Beginnings.

Does your OC believe that someone needs to hit rock bottom - or at least suffer the full consequences of their poor choices - before they can be helped to make positive changes? Or would they spare no effort in trying to help a friend or family member they percieved as trapped in a cycle of negative behaviour?

Does your OC wish to have children of their own? Would they ever consider adoption? Or is it important to them that they have a birth child to carry on their lineage? If they do not want children then how do they respond to being asked about it?

At what age did your OC stop growing? Did they go through puberty notably earlier or later than their peers? Would they have quite liked to have grown a little more?

Are there any festivals or cultural traditions related to fertility in which your OC participates? If they have chosen not to continue these traditions then what was the reason? How do they feel about any fertility rites or practices they have encountered in other cultures?

Has your OC ever been involved in farming or agriculture? Or have they tilled the earth in a more modest setting? What is their view of food production in society? Is it something they understand and value? Or do they make little connection between the food they eat and the labour required to produce it?

Tomato: Nourishment, Vitality, and Love.

Does your OC seek out calorie-dense or highly nutritious foods to enhance their physical performance and survivability? Or is the taste or presentation of food as important (or more important) than its health-giving properties?

Day 6 of FFXIV Polyamory Week: Nature/Beauty!

Karo and Thancred thought it would be fun to introduce G'raha to certain parts of Tural that they had already gotten to explore, and got to show him one of the most beautiful little hidden meadows high in the mountains! (though he had to almost be physically torn away from the paintings in the caves to get there!)

When the loporrits first approached you with their second attempt at creating something joyful for long-awaited visitors, roiling beneath Urianger's radiant and benevolent smile, it wasn't that you were suspicious. No! You had SUCH a fun time in Smileton, so much so your cheeks hurt at the thought.

No, just, maybe there was something in your chest when the loporrits said with all their little furry hearts that they had made all of this so they could truly bring something to those who have not. That something reflected on your face, and that something Urianger could see, and it prompted him to pull you aside.

He asks you, you know, 'what's wrongeth' (he doesn't actually use those words) and you tell him that you WANT to believe in them, but it's more that you WANT to believe in them than that you actually do. Which obviously isn't sufficient. And Urianger, in his way of course, telleths you to go on.

So you tell him that you've found these kinds of promises are ultimately ephemeral, and you're thinking of the Gold Saucer and how those buttery bright days, all the people you had amazing moments with that abruptly ceased to sparkle and went inert every time after. How the gaps in what it promised went unfilled, and how the promises were the problems to begin with.

Urianger listened and you both sat quietly for a bit and then he asked you if you remembered a phrase you had said once.

"I said something?"

Yes. 'Dreams are a living truthful lie.'

"That's kind of embarrassing..."

Urianger didn't think it was, and you didn't want to try hard to disbelieve him. He just asked(eth) you to try being there. Think of that purpose again.

Just for a lark, you so do. It goes better than you think.

DECEMBHYURARY2024 - DAY09 - TRUTH OR LIES

Vierapril 2025 - Day 19: Shatter

A flashback, to an impromptu concert that Gaea Narkissos put on during testing of their "Songstress Dressphere." While they were able to sufficiently entertain the crowds of Confederacy members in Onokoro, the concert went briefly awry when they hit a note so high that it could've shattered glass.

It didn't, of course, but it did attract the local wildlife.
