Off FIAC

FIAC is always the most majestic. We understand why that she has to remain there, top of the top, serious, full of authority who can change the meteo of contemporary art world. But after so many very tiring visits of the grandiose Grand Palais year after year, I decided to skip it and try to discover what else FIAC week could offer. Thanks to the halo of the FIAC, many off site expo, fair and salon are emerging, creating and created.  They meant to be different from FIAC, younger and more free-spirit i guess. 

Thats how I discovered Asia Now and Paris Internationale - the biggest surprise of this year FIAC week for me. Although both fairs were located in the most bourgeois area of Paris, namingly 8eme and 16eme, the attitude was completely off-beat and daring. When you wander from one room to another in their sublime hotel particular where the expo was held, you never know what come next, something shocking? something funny? I feel like I was treasure hunting or adventuring in an unknown universe. Paris Internationle is especially bold and sharp, they managed to curate the mini expo of each gallery in the space impossible such as basement, toilet and bathroom.  But the result was extremely compatible and harmonic. Asia Now successfully introduced the most dynamic art scene of Asia to Paris without at all feeling shy or green-hand. Art belong to all Humanity and art is free. They convey the message and shout out loud.  Art inspires everyone and art is priceless, art shouldn’t be the game of only the most glamorous and exclusive circle but open to all. 

Well, it was a FIAC without FIAC itself and I felt even better

To me, it was all about sculpture and installation today, I absolutely loved @alvarobarrington 'Street Dreams are made of this' at the booth of @thaddaeusropac . And was very moved by a #christo from 1963 at @annelyjuda . My dear @caroline_von_krockow_ made me discover the beautiful @galeriekrinzinger with a very interesting work by a Lebanese artist @radhikakhimji .
