Firebird2021 (5/10) "do you have someone special in your life?" "Him." HUUHH👀 "and you." nice save buddy, keep that dipshit on his toes- it was a good movie, bad acting but I did like certain parts cause it seemed quite raw.

Wonka (3/10) it....... i don't know it just wasn't all that grand. again the hype was too much, sure it was funny seeing that little twink sing his little song and do his little dance, but other than that it was just ehhhh

The Imitation Game (9/10) fucking screaming and fucking crying and fucking throwing up- I had read so much about Turning but never knew there was a movie? actually two movies, Codebreaker(2011), and that movie is now on the list. Will be watching The Imitation Game again and again. Actually I need everyone to watch this movie please

Barbie (1/10) I just hated it really. I understand its message and agree with a lot of it but the packaging was just so stupid honestly.

The Banshees of Inisherin (6/10) I don't know if this was supposed to be a comedy or not but I was laughing the whole time up until Jenny died then I wanted to murder Callum with my bare hands. Overall it was good, I assume it's based on an Irish tale -like The Killing Of a Sacred Deer- but idk which one so I just enjoyed from a story-ish point of view.

Firebird (2021 Thoughts)

Alright, so I just watched the movie Firebird (2021) and I have some thoughts... (watch out, there are spoilers)

I was really happy to see a queer war movie advertised so mainstreamly and I thought that was neat. I just finished the book "In Memoriam" by Alice Winn and I have definitely been on the hunt for some wartime queers.

This movie is sad but not too sad? It still felt emotionally satisfying.

ROMAN IS SO HOT BUT ALSO I DONT LIKE HIM BUT ALSO I LOVE HIM. It made me really sad to see his sad bisexual dilemmas... like the scene where he takes down the photos of Sergey and him and instead puts up photos of Luisa broke me. Unfortunately though that scene also made me not like him as much?

The film really focused on Sergey and his reflections, but I would've loved to see more of Roman because the effect of what the movie did show was just muddy. And I understand that closeted queer affairs like that are naturally muddy, but I would've loved to see more of Roman pursuing flying or other personal hobbies like we see Sergey do with acting. Roman never got to exist as a character, only as a love interest.

3. The ending felt a little rushed. There is all this buildup and then he just dies. Which... war... I guess...

I think that including more talking between Sergey and Roman's son would've been more effective to reflect the different legacies that Roman left behind; at the end of the day, that is a big reason to tell sad love stories like Firebird does.

movie… it breaks your heart, fixes it, shatters it, fixes it, then grinds it into a fine powder.great if you love history, LGBTQIA+ romance, tragedies, and movies that make you have deep(slightly painful) feelings. Would encourage to watch
