Flobster Friday follow-up

A few gifs of times flobsters have appeared or been referenced outside "Flobsters on Parade". The first three feature Mr Bunty's pet flobster Crustacia (never named in the show, though she would have been had a particular scene from "Today and Forever" not been deleted), while the last two are from a cut scene from "I Have Heard The Robots Singing" that was storyboarded but never fully animated. (The whole scene is available on Twitter here. TFWiki is a wonderful thing...)

[Let me know if last week's lagging issues - for which I apologise - still persist. I post these on my laptop and don't find out until later how well they work on mobile.]

Whenever my friends on Discord complain about something inane or annoying I decide to fill the chat with ramblings of mad prophets instead of deleting the messages. It makes reading old messages way more fun.

Been rewatching Transformers Rescue Bots with my three littlest siblings and I'm seriously loving it so much!! Don't believe it when people say it's a preschool show. It is NOT. The story is so fun! The characters are all amazing and there are SO many funny moments. I love the family dynamic the most. Cody, Kade, Graham, and Dani act like real siblings and they have a lot of great moments together! (Kade even has a line in one episode that is literally EXACTLY what one of my brothers would say XD)

It's been a while since I've last watched this show and I think I love Heatwave so much more now. I forgot how angry he is ALL THE TIME. XD And he has his own funny moments too! During the flobster episode, Heatwave literally 'pretends to be sick' so he can get out of going to the parade. XD XD "Ohhhhh. Oh no! My engine won't start! Darn it, I guess you'll have to go without meeee" He comes around in the end though. :)

It's so fun, because I haven't watched this in a while, but my two littlest brothers at least kinda have and my baby sister Potato hasn't. So me and the boys keep remembering details about what's going to happen in future episodes and I keep having to shush them so they don't spoil anything for Potato. XD We just got our first tease of Dr. Morocco and we went NUTS. I can't wait!!

Miracubots au: Akumas

Been a few days but I'm back!

Upfront, we don't have Akuma forms settled for everyone. SOME BITCHES *Stares at Chief, Dani and Kade* ARE SHOCKINGLY HARD TO DESIGN FOR.

So this isn't a complete list, hell if this ever became an actual fic some of them might end up changing.

Without further Adu, a very incomplete list of Akumas:

Ticket Master: Might as well get the Mr Pidgon equivilant out of the way, Don and his speeding tickets make him a weekly Akuma giving everyone in Griffin Rock headaches, especally the Heros. Everyone keeps begging Chief to just impound his car already but Don always pays off his fines so his hands are kinda tied.

Crawdaddy: So you know how there's occasionally a Dude who just has a Flobbster on a Leash? Ya, Ya he get's Akumatized over worrying about his pet's health. Don't worry the Flobster turns out ok.

Demolicious: Expect the spelling of this one to change a half dozen times because I hate myself and thought a portmantu of Demolition and Malicious was a great idea. Graham's Akuma form surprisingly enough formed when Graham just comepletly lost his temper after a stressful week and having to deal with a Karen of a tourest who decided to let her kids play in a derelict building he and Boulder where trying to safely demolish, and blamed him for the kids getting hurt.

Evilistratior: Alright this one was briefly mentioned and is something I kinda put in just for me. Being a very old OC of mine Dusk who I love very much. Think Bendy and the Ink machine meets Samarah from the ring and you kinda get the vibe of our Evilistratior, though instead of objects he creates ink creatures by drawing in his sketch pad as Dusk's an artist. As part of the self indulgent nonsence he becomes Graham's boyfriend. They even end up getting reakumatized into Demo and Evie together and are just an annoyingly sweet couple even when Evie's setting ink demons on everyone and Demo's trying to blow up the fucking island.

Glory Hog: Heatwaves Akuma caused by lingering stress over the entire Swallowtail situation and Kade falling back into his own glory hog ways. Glory Hog has the ability to 'Take away all attention and direct it to his self' Basically if you get hit by his beam, you kinda seace to exist for other people. They don't see you or acknowlage your there, your basically a ghost walking through your own life which is kinda horrorfying.

Emperata: Chase's Akuma formed after their reveal, Chase struggling with the sudden change in dynamic when he's become so acustomed to just the Burns family knowing. Coupled with the towns people not knowing how to treat him and just falling back on treating him like a robot when the more socal members of the team get readily accepted. Causes him to become Emperata, appearing as if Chase really had the horrorfic surgery done to him, and able to inflict the same on his brainwashed minions.

Halloweenie: More of a joke Akuma TBH, Blades after getting scared during Earlyween and getting upset at some teens tormenting some frightened younger kids, becomes the pumpkin fairy themed Halloweenie....Who makes everything cute. That's it. Cody and Frankie actually let him run around unchallenged for a bit because he is literally hurting no one, even if someone's wearing a scary costume and get zapped they can just, take the costume off no problem. And there have been a few occasions where letting the Akuma get it out of their system has calmed them down to be beatten without much of a fight.

Razorback. Boulders Akuma and it's a *bad* one. The idea I came up with was uhh....Graham and Dusk on a date off island when they run into uhhh....Anti-Anti-Fascsits if you catch my meaning. Resulting in Graham getting hurt enough to need the hospital and Dusk in jail needing bailing out for defending the pair of them. Boulder having never known about this side of humanity is just so blindsided and *angry* he's more or less a ball of walking distruction before he's calmed and deakumatised.

Defensor:....You saw it coming, don't pretend. Ya in this universe the episode where Cheif get's hurt and goes the hospital goes a little worse, not too much so, but the bots getting a nasty reminder of not only how fragile humans are but how short lived they are...What's more, their humans are emergancy responders, a profession that famously *shortens* those already brief lifespans....Ya, their pain and grief causes them to be fused into the group Akuma Defensor, who desides to take over the security systems Vigil was meant to once operate, they'll keep their family safe....no matter what....

Holy fucking ba-moly I love. Heatwave. I love him. I'm rewatching Rescue Bots and its only been the first four episodes and he's is just. Running the GAMUT in all the different ways of being annoyed AND an asshole. Trying to give up on working with the Burns almost immediately. The hilarious call when Optimus says good luck and hangs up. When him (and Boulder??) make fun of Blades' scoop claw. When he pretends he can't start to avoid going to the Flobster parade only to get pissed that Huxley says the crowd doesn't miss him five minutes later. I love him so much. oh my god. what the fuck. I LOVE HIM.

Remember how Cody turns 11 in season four?

Eleven. IMO, that's already pretty young. But! There was a canonical time skip between the end of s3 and beginning of s4, very specifically four yeahs. That leaves him at 8 at most. I'm not quite sure how much time passes between the beginning of the pilot all the way until the end of season three and it's frustrating. When we start the series, it's firmly summer. We got flobsters in the summer festival, a Christmas in July episode. Currently i do not have any significant access to season two and it's been years since Netflix attempted to murder their aligned continuity shows. In the beginning of season three we start off in midwinter, which if I'm gonna take that literally the middle of the winter is in the February single digits dates (groundhog's day, the day after— it changes) but in the kade cloning episode there is literally no snow anywhere and well this was years ago so global warming wasn't as bad as it is today meaning at least two months have passed. I say at least because if the series is based in the early 2010s and if Maine's weather is anything like the state I live in, the surroundings wouldn't have been all cheery and green until mid May. Ehhh, but there was permafrost ice on Wayward island where they found Ira, so maybe the island is not only prone to geological anomalies but also meteorological anomalies? Fuck at least in TFP they had the excuse of ~desert~

The point of this rant? How in the absolute hell is this young child the voice of reason? Do all children have an unspoken subconscious telepathic bond with aliens?

Flobster Friday

@karlyanalora and @novafire-is-thinking were talking about Dani and Blades (and Bumblebee) having Tumblr yesterday, a "Flobster Friday" was mentioned and... this happened. I hope you enjoy.

Good luck with that 'don't eat organic food' thing. Some people will never learn.

At one point in time Hook, Knock Out, Flatline and Glit all sat around Soundwave and me in a circle and said, "This is an intervention. We are going to teach you how to clean out Laserbeak's fuel tank, because we give up."

I told Marissa about it and she said it's probably Cybertronian 'pica' which is apparently a thing some humans have where they eat things they shouldn't. It's like a compulsion or something.

Now that LB is hanging out with Wildrider all the time I swear I can't figure out if there's anything they won't put in their mouths.

(We went 'travelling' once and Laserbeak swallowed something they called 'an infinity stone'. Which is apparently very rare in some places and common in others. We were in a place where they are relatively common. For an entire fucking quartex every time she got hiccups it opened up miniature rifts.)

Unrelatedly, are flobsters organic? They look like they'd be fun to catch. Too much work to be a genuinely good source of nutrition but an entertaining snack.

Mortilus is calm and collected (ie tired), as always. He grabs the last one before Spot can, tossing it into a bucket.

The pup comes over. He pats each head. Good boy.

"I'll find a water planet for these." He says, despite Order's opened mouth. "Chaos won't do well here."

Rung fidgets. Mortilus sighs, nudging their noses together. Yes, he's tired. But no one else has a quantum drive.

The flobsters are bundled together onto a cart. Spot takes his usual spot on the front, happy as can be.

"Thanks." Says the mech of many words to the helpful human. "Nice to see you again."

With a flap of massive wings, he takes off, trailing the cart behind him. Very dramatic. He didn't intend it to be. He's just sleepy.

A gift, for real this time. It's a nicely patterned box with holes in it. Inside, a single flobster mills around; they're decorated with a big bow.

It picked the nicest one it had.

It is a beautiful gift.

But the creature is as finely crafted as any model he could make, with a hard protective shell and marvelously detailed joint work. Wholly organic, as far as he can tell, as he carefully adjusts his grip on the box to smile down at the little beast.

It is just barely the size of his smallest digit. A diminutive cousin of the epsom lobsters down by the docks.

…He has no idea how to care for it, but surely someone must know something, or at the very least he can pester Optimus to look on the intranet for him. In the meanwhile, he sets out one of the deep bowls Megatron uses for dumplings and fills it with distilled water and some brine salt, then carefully taps the side of the box to coax the flobster into it.

Hopefully that will hold until Rung can find out more about it.
