#actually really difficult to find english language info about it. it seems they had like #a system where each performance had a different ending for the different boys LOL #so if you wanted to see kents ending youd have to come on a specific day etc #there was a dvd release which appears to have all the endings included which is neat. another reason to practice my japanese #id definitely like to check out the songs specifically. you know im already tracking down the cd. you KNOW #i do love amnesia. not the greatest game. theres complications with the artist too LOL #but it was a WILD ass game. especially for my first full otome game i had ever played #i still havent played anything else with this intense genre whiplash between routes #i didnt care much for shins romance but i loved his route because it was straight up just a mystery thriller #tomas was a horror and it was awesome obvs #kents was like a sweet and nice little romantic drama #ikki was like a normal showbiz drama complete with darker elements but also hes an accountant for some reason instead of a celebrity #which is really funny to me HKJDSHJKLDADSd and ukyos his own thing going on. his own intensely otome game-ass thing <3 #it was awesome. i need to play more otome games again so many have been released in the past couple years #i need my tonal and genre whiplash. i neeeeeeeeeed it

Jean's charged attack

I might be overanalyzing things, but hear me out... Jean's charged attack... It looks like:

"Liberty leading the People". Which thematically would make a lot of sense and I think it echoes quite well her constellations "People's Aegis" and "Fair Protector of Mondstadt"! That and also the entire Gunnhildr backtory. They've been liberty leading the people for generations.

Also the boy on the right of the painting is quite reminiscent of Venti/Nameless Bard...

That or it's just that Jean is Anemo so she yeets things up in the air, it's a possibility too :v

Wouldn't it be so interesting to watch them struggle with figuring out how to live now that they make their own decisions.

This may be a good and normal thing but I have absolutely zero regrets about having purchased the laptop last night. Like all day yesterday and even as I was buying I was going oh god should I should I not but now I’m not even having second thoughts about the huge display lmao

#SO FUCKING GLAD that I actually did some extra research rather than just going meh the one I looked at before is probably better #I think it was a SIGN that I got paid a little early for the month’s work and then like the day after the laptop I bought went on sale #(Didn’t actually pay immediately so I didn’t USE any of that money but that is besides the point)#Only with the reservation of man… it’s big… and heavy… and REALLY huge and that’s bad…#I HAD deep down been going ‘man if only there was a bigger laptop with the same specs as the one I wanna buy’#And then!!! This baby pops up!! With a big display and BETTER specs!!!!!!!!#Cannot begin to express my excitement at playing Real People Games like that hasn’t even been a POSSIBILITY #Stray is at the top of my list right next to ranch of rivershine #And also probably Elden Ring that shit looks NEAT #(Also yes there is a catch and a reason this one is cheaper even though it’s better! The one I was planning on getting had an OLED display #This one’s just a normal good old LCD display. But in all honesty that is ABSOLUTELY a sacrifice I’m willing to make lol)#z talks #not horse game #Also the fact it’s not currently in stock so I’ll be waiting almost 3 weeks for it also very much feels like a good thing #Like. I've wanted to write a dissertation on the localization differences in　Sawashiro's Chapter 13 scenes FOREVER you have NO idea, thank you so much for pointing that out.

I did experience the full game back when it was only out in Japanese so I've certainly got Thoughts on both in comparison to the original as well. Although it's not exactly what you were talking about, I do personally think the playfulness is 100% purposeful and the more accurate take in this case! Not just in a literal sense, but in terms of authorial intent.

Chapters 1, 2, and 13 specifically are full of homages to and subversions of his character as seen in RGGO. Playfulness, unpredictability, and an off-putting sense of humor are central to RGGO!Sawashiro. He also happens to be particularly fond of fake-outs like that. Obviously a lot has changed between games, but there's a lot of fascinating interplay as well, even with 7!Sawashiro's much more subdued presentation. Yokoyama has said he was going for a story that doesn't require RGGO's context to understand or enjoy, but a story that's nonetheless made more interesting by taking RGGO's context into account. The effects of that approach are of course going to be apparent in RGGO's main antagonist.

So I don't think it's far-fetched at all to say there's a sense of humor there we just don't get to see much of, being Ichi and being in the situations we're in when we encounter him. I think that kind of works for him as a character whose idiosyncrasies are conveyed equally by what we see and what we don't see.

... I guess I kind of ended up writing a dissertation anyway lol sorry
