I love horror as a genre, but I am so worn out by horror as content. My halloween special talks about feeling fatigued from horror as content, as opposed to just disliking horror media. I feel that seeing so many ENDING EXPLAINED and FULL TIMELINE OF FNAF lore videos are a byproduct of the desire to just passively consume something and that's fine - my issue is that with horror content specifically, trying to ground the unfathomable and unknowable concepts of cryptids, creatures & settings into digestible packages also destroys my suspension of disbelief. That's my own problem, but that's why I fnd it hard to enjoy a lot of horror because it gets dissected and watered down before I can even blink.

A lot of great horror is still being made like Pearl, RE4R, Fear and Hunger, and Signalis, so I want to dismantle my jaded demeanor and (re)learn to love the genre I cherish the most.

Thinking about Danny Phantom but as found footage/analogue horror. Like, it works SO incredibly well and I'm a bit obsessed.

Inexplicably grainy FentonWorks lab footage? A ghost dissection video log that gets more disturbing the longer it goes on? Ambiguous morality? Distorted imagery? Something being very, very wrong with the Fenton's son?

The proto-portal test footage from the 80s???? followed by hospital quarantine reports describing what a fatal dose of ecto-contaminants looks like? Which is then interrupted by Ṽ̵͇͍̓̒̕l̷̛͕̜̞̬͒̔͑̾̊͊a̷̝̰͕̗͇̣̓́́d̶̢̬̳̗̻̖̄̒̓̈́͌̚̕ ̴̡̛̱̱́́͆͠ͅw̷͎̬̠͒̐́̈́̈̇̚ā̵̢̢̛͔͙́͒̚͝k̴̡̹̘̻̜͇̬̍̏̄͂̊̀͠i̸̙͋͗̄ṅ̸̢̳̻̠̦̬͌̍͐͐̅͠g̶͇̥̮̦̗͑̃͘ ̶̨̏̈́̆͠ṳ̷͉̩̮̙̄̇͜p̸̧̡̹̗͇͘ and turning the hospital upside down?

went down a rabbit hole about the Trinity College production of In Trousers (the one with the slide that's on youtube) and found these newspaper articles! apparently it was done at least twice, once in January 1992 and once in November with the rest of the Marvin Trilogy. recordings of both In Trousers and Falsettoland can be found online, but unfortunately, a recording of March doesn't seem to exist.

Solas x Lavellan

Still not over how my poor Lavellan her heart broken in the Glen. She didn't deserve to be left behind like that! 3 Weeks travelling from Skyhold on the premise of a romantic date... only to get dumped.

For a character that's supposed to be wise, Solas has a terrible grasp on the idea of romance.

I'm trying to mend my heart by dedicating this piece to my Inquisitor Lavellan 'Artemis' and the annoyingly sexy and emotional unstable dread Egg.

my week 3 oneshot for scrybruary has been up for a couple weeks now, and i'm overdue in posting about it! this one was for the theme "day in the life/mundane", so of course i wrote about death p03 taking magick leshy to the backrooms

The oneshot, Just Your Average Afternoon, is as you would expect quite a bit sillier than the two before it: Under an orange moon…Leshy is spending the afternoon at the dilapidated shopping center that serves as the Temple of P03, Scrybe of the Dead. When the possessed collection of decayed remains and analogue machinery shows Leshy a broken texture in the floor that leads to an infinite maze of yellowed rooms, the Scrybe of Magicks is equal parts shocked and intrigued. But perhaps, on a possibly haunted disk rife with sentient characters and poor programming, such a phenomenon isn't quite as unprecedented as one might assume.

you can read the oneshot right here! i put on a lot of analogue horror video essays while i work so it was a lot of fun to play around with some of those tropes and references in this chapter haha
