Hi hello I watched all of carmilla in a weekend when I was 17 because a student teacher who in retrospect I had a bit of a crush on mentioned that she knew one of the actresses. also I am pretty invested in all your recent vampire stuff because I watched iwtv in 2 days last week because your edit intrigued me

i also watched carmilla at 17! or like, 17-19. i found it when s2 had just started and followed it to the end. did something permanent to my brain but i think it was a good thing. on rewatch now im like, i was right to like this. like it's a solid show, it's good. it has its flaws obviously but it's well written, the emotional moments still get me, i can see why i liked it and i still like it now even when it's not anymore, you know, meeting every need that baby gay me didnt even know they had

what it doesnt reaallyy do though - i dont remember if i posted abt this or if i left it in my drafts but - is explore vampirism as a concept. their subject matter is more lesbianism than vampirism. which is great! thats what they wanted to do and they did it and it's very good. but reading interview with the vampire the book rn im realising how much potential vampires have to be metaphors for like so many things and i started wondering like 'wait, did carmilla just not really engage with it or did it all go over my head'. but it just didnt really engage with it all that much. which again is fine bc that wasnt what they were doing. im glad they were more about the lesbianism than the vampirism

but there's this interesting difference in framing, because in iwtv they keep calling armand 'ancient' right? and emphasising how old he is. and he's like 500? and i was like 'wait isnt carmilla like 400?'. she isnt, shes 340, but still, thats getting there, you know? and we know quite a lot about her history, but kind of just the Big Events. when she was turned, the events of the novella, coffin of blood, silas. thats sort of what we know. but none of the long lonely slog of history day to day you know? with armand i feel like we can really feel how much time everything takes. how every one of those years is made up of single days. with carmilla i dont feel that as much. i keep kind of thinking about daniel, when louis calls him a boy in the first episode, saying "im an old man, with all the triggers that come with it"

because carmilla might look 18 (or mid twenties at this point) but she has lived all that time. shes also seen her native land be claimed by like a succession of ruling powers, right? like armand. shes been buried alive, like louis. when lestat is born, shes already 80 years old, shes lived a whole human lifetime, and the entire adult part of it shes been a vampire. shes lived through 1680-1870 being a lure. i compared her to abigail hobbs in some tags on a post, i dont know if youre familiar with hannibal the tv show, but i do also kinda keep thinking about that comparison

if youre not familiar, in the first episode of hannibal the murderer of the week is this guy garrett jacob hobbs who kills and cannibalises girls who resemble his daughter. and later on it turns out she was made to be his lure. like they'd go places and he'd sent her to the victims to make friends and maybe get them back to their home or smth. not sure if they specified all the details. but that's what carmilla did for mother. and in s2 we hear from mattie that while every couple of decades carmilla had to lure victims for the fish god, she also seemed to just enjoy humans between those times, right? like the doctor, gets lonely, gets a new companion. but we've only sort of got mattie's mocking word for it ("dont eat him, hes a poet! or her, shes got such a wonderful voice. or that one, shes just too pretty to ruin"), we don't know exactly from carmilla's point of view what she was doing or why. if mattie's talking about stuff that happened after the blood coffin, 1950-now, then i think it's a fair assumption based on what carmilla says in the s1 sock puppet show that after she'd figured out what the real situation was and what her role in it was, when she'd started trying to save girls from being sacrificed, that she mightve been doing the same trying to save people from becoming mattie's victims. it's probably more likely that she was just trying to find excuses to stop mattie from sucking someone dry rather than actually having like an aesthetic based morality. but it might be a bit of both. im still trying to figure out what her philosophy actually is, like i dont know what existentialism actually means ghkfjghkj but i will

i also found it pretty striking in the movie when shes turning back into a vampire she says like "this was supposed to be done, you know? the blood lust, the self-loathing, the sleeping tied to a chair in my own bedroom". thats what defines her vampirism, wanting blood and hating yourself for it (the third part is a joke/reference to s1 but also i think meaningful for how she sees her relationship with laura when she IS a vampire. little bit of that 'she will reject me for my monstrousness' shining through). and thats what defines vampirism for lots of vampires across the genre obviously, but i dont know, it struck me. we dont get a lot from carmilla's pov, we know a fair amount about her, but the story is always told through laura. we get laura's diaries, but just snippets here and there from carmilla, what shes thinking, how shes feeling

and i love that shes a philosopher. i love that thats how she seems to try and find something to hold onto, in a world that kind of moves around her, having been murdered, kidnapped, turned and groomed to be a lure on the cusp of adulthood, never having been properly loved (the relationship with her father wasnt good she says in s3, and her mortal mother i dont think has ever been mentioned (like laura's)). the only good relationship she seems to have had for the better part of 3 centuries seems to have been mattie, and mattie seems to love being a vampire. i can imagine carmilla just sort of going along with anything mattie wants to do just because shes so desperate for that friendship. not like, against her will necessarily really. but more like, she hasnt even had the space to develop her own will, you know? and philosophy lets you do that. philosophy gives you frameworks to understand the world and to develop your own opinions on it. and by the 21st century she seems to have developed those opinions, she has a sense of her own values, but shes also still stuck in that same situation. shes jaded and cynical in the face of laura's optimism and strong moral code a lot of the time in s1 because she feels probably pretty powerless. like she does what she can to save some girls but at the end of the day shes scared of her mother and she has nowhere else to go really, right?

i like how she grapples with that over the course of the series, in tandem with laura grappling with her black and white morality. she sort of jumps ship from her mother to laura bc theyve fallen in love, but then laura still stuck in her hero thinking refuses to see her monstrous side. not literally bc i think the biological vampirism never seemed to be a problem for laura, but morally. the having murdered. carmilla needs laura to see that and love her while seeing it bc the last girl she loved rejected her for being a vampire.

but you see her kind of swing back and forth in s2. she softens first with laura but then they break up and she leans back hard into the sarcastic cynic defense mechanisms, leans hard into "im a monster, dont expect heroism from me". but thats like, it's sort of learned helplessness i think. it's powerlessness, resignation. bc morally shes not a monster. maybe she doesnt have as strong a drive to help other people as laura does and is a little more selfishly hedonistic in that she just wants to enjoy her/their life, but she doesnt hurt people for fun, she never has. she just sort of didnt have another option for a Really long time. so she pretends she doesnt care. "im a vampire, this is what i do, this is who i am". but clearly from the way she talks about it when she turns back into one, she doesnt enjoy it

and i like how she goes even further in s3, where she starts swinging even more to the heroic side, bc she sees hope. shes like "wow if we kill my mother, i'd be free". theres hope and she becomes like a lot more active. and shes like that at the start of the movie too, a lot happier, a lot more relaxed, and then vampirism is back and bam depression gfhgkjh like shes immediately more gloomy, ashamed of her past and her self, retreats into herself

The Legend of Zelda is a series that's all about "yeah let's hand this child a sword and let him go nuts" (to use a popular example, BOTW Link being canonically handed a sword at age four and is said in Mipha's diary to have been able to best grown men in fights: "At the request of Hyrule's king, a group of outsiders came to greet us at the domain. His maturity level also does, to me, match that of an average 12-year-old nepo baby (which he really kind of is)—kid who thinks he knows everything & that he's hot shit but is kind of a giant train wreck internally.

All three Four Sword heroes prior to him were explicitly stated to be "young boys", and FSA manga Link is really no different in that regard—in the context of my own AU, he's actually the one who went on his adventure at the oldest age (with Smithy going on his around 8-9, Four going on his at 10, and Knight now going on his at 11). It's just been a shorter time since his adventure than it has been for the others ^^;

7. What’s one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them?

i used to think that she didnt care much about the art of actually acting and cinema and stuff and for her it was more about just being famous and it didnt matter how. i think that was partially because although i knew i wanted her to lust for fame and money the acting dream was kind of just randomly decided on. i thought i could easily swap it out with modelling or singing or something and it wouldnt make much difference. but the more time ive spent with casey, the more i see her as a true lover of movies and art....which i think leads in well to her endgame job being a script editor rather than an actor. her true talents lie behind the screen even if she herself doesnt see it...

17. What is the worst thing you have put your OC through story-wise?

well i was going to blame it entirely on you that nell dies and i had no say in that but i suppose i did come up with her emotional reaction to that myself, which causes me a lot of slow damage pain. SO I GUESS THAT..the fact she pushes michelle away after it happens is really depressing to me because thats literally her only friend left and only possible pillar of support, but she pushes her away because she hates everything and shes mad shes not nell and shes mad at her family and wants to explode. I think she'd be marginally less suicidal if she stayed friends with her.....

I guess also pulling from alternate realities the one where she dies is pretty fucked up. and very painful. and nell doesnt even make it to her to cradle her in her arms. SAD

20. Does your OC have a tendency to get jealous? If so, how does this manifest?

yyessss. at least when he and nell start getting lowkey. no. highkey #serious. early in their setup he wouldnt gaf if nell was married to a businesswoman in russia.but when they start ummmm [redacted] then hes like waittt. lol waittttttt lol wait. lol. WAITTT. gets a little annoyed when theyre at the doom patrol warehouse party and jayna from the wonder twins tries to get ladybugs number. THATS MY BODYGUARD..GET YOUR OWN. it manifests in that he'll get clingy to nell and mean and passive aggressive (or just aggressive) towards the person pissing him off. will be petty and spiteful (sees some poor scared nervous young lesbian trying to say hi to nell so he slides in and nuzzles up to her shoulder in public to let that sstupid kid know to go away)

idk why he does this. if you asked him if he liked nell he would say And what has she done to MAKE me like her

lol GRIEF. little casey has never experienced a death before nell! not even a pet death. she has no idea how to process those feelings or cope with them in the slightest. she goes like catatonic immediately after the fact bcuz shes so completely shocked and wasnt prepared for it at all (lowkey thought ladybug was too awesomeand strong to ever get got. stupidd)

on the complete flip side, also .....l-l-l-l-l-l-l--l-l-l-l-l-l...LOVE. or at least feeling a smidge of serious romantic attraction to someone. in canon end she never gets to deal with that bcuz she only realizes it after nell died and then promptly buried everything related to nell deep inside a hole. but in nyc nell simply has an epic near death experience where hes hospitalized and thats when casey is like fuuuuuuuuuck that scared me. DO I LIKE HER? she acts a bit pathetic and tsundere abt it which is endearing to me personally. maybe scares nell a bit. its cute to me though <3

Akashi would be way to extraordinary for Saiki and hes friends with Kokomi. I also think it would be really funny if Saiki used telapathy and heard Bokushi and Oreshi conversing in his head. He would be flabbergasted imo

I also want to see the showdown between Kokomi "gods favourite" Teruhashi and Akashi "I am absolute" seijuro. Akashi would definitely be the perfect pretty boy of the school. He would have a version of the Kokomins as well lmao.

People(aka Nendo) would mistake Akashi for Saiki and Saiki would be pissed lmfao.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

I already made a post compiling everything I hated about fanon akashi but Ill say it again.

People make him out to be some psycho who is obsessed with kuroko and hates everybody else. They give him no other personality other than scissors, tetsuya and being absolute as if he isnt so so much more than that.

Oreshi doesnt even exist in the heads of people who do this. But it has gotten much better over the years and most of the fandom has finally gotten a good grasp of hos character so thats nice.

This came at the perfect time cause Im actually working on a GoM as emoticons thingy(maybe a few other characters) so I might as well share my akashi emoticons. You can guess who is who.

AkaFuri tbh I see them more as best friends(Furi giving Akashi a taste of normalacy)

Romantic AkaKuro. I just feel like their relationship is so much more than romance. You cant describe their relationship with the word romance. I see them more as queer platonic partners.

18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?

Again cant decide between Nijimura, Mayuzumi and Mibuchi so Ill explain my thoughts on all.

Nijimura was one of the only people who treated akashi as what he truly was, a child. He took him out for snacks, guided him actually cared for him you know all the reasons why niji is the best senpai. And Akashi really did look up to him and enjoyed being vice captain under him.

Reo is another person who treats Akashi(both of them) with so much kindness and love. Even If Mibuchi didnt(probably) like akashi romantically he would still care about him just as much. Like Akashi is his baby he loves him so much. And Akashi loves Reo just as much which is obvious given how he comforted him for the foul during the RakuSei match.

MayuAka is defo one of my favorite duos in series. They are the canon light and shadow duo for Rakuzan. Mayuzumi brings the much needed normalacy in Akashi's life like lending him his light novels(on multiple occasions might I add). But he also encouraged Akashi(in his own sarcastic way) even if he wasnt obligated to for how akashi treated him during the match. He forgives Akashi when he apologizes even though he could have rejected it. And Akashi likes Mayuzumi too. He frequently invites him to matches and outings(more like doesnt give him a chance to say no)(this was in cross colors btw) and quite literally tricked him into spending time with the other shadows(takao and kuroko). I think their relationship is very unexplored in the bigger sections of the fandom. Ok this got way too long Im sorry.

19. How about a relationship they have in canon that you don't like?

His relationship with his father leaves a lot to be desired. Now I dont think that masaomi is a bad person per say but he is a horrible father with or without meaning to. He blatantly neglets Akashi during his childhood and in his teenage years. He doesnt allow Akashi to mourn the death of his mother and only pushes him further. Akashi is forced to live up to his unreal expectations his entire life.

Now I dont think he doesnt love Akashi, I think that Masaomi is a man who loved his late wife but does not know how to give his son the love he needs and deserves partly because it was also how he was raised. Their relationship is overall pretty toxic and I can only hope that they talk through their issues when Akashi is older.

20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?

Honestly? Either Momoi or Takao.

Momoi is an insanely intelligent girl and If this wasnt already said this enough they would overthrow the world. AkaMomo friendship wasnt shown in the show because they knew it would be too powerful.

Takao is a positive and funny person. He is optimistic and one of his greatest strenghts is being able to make any situation funny. I know this has been mentioned before but both Takao and Akashi want to improve on something the other has(being a point guard for takao and being approachable and funny for akashi)

I think they would bring out the best in eachother. They would also make Midorima's life miserable which is a bonus.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

There's nothing in the fandom that I particularly hate other than the people who hate her tbh. In all the fics Ive read she is pretty badass and cool.

But her haters istg. They either hate her cause they find her love for kuroko annoying or because she gets in the way of their gay ships or whatever(I absolutely despise when female characters are hated because they " get in the way of m/m ship")

They also dislike her because she body shamed riko but tbh her calling riko's boobs small is 100 times better than aomine kneeing his teammate in the gut dont you think🤨🤨

11. Would you date this character?

One word. Yes.

Momoi is such a sweet person overall, she is so nice and caring and kind. Yes her cooking sucks but I can cook well enough for the both of us. I know for a fact she would be a super affectionate girlfriend. Id be getting cuddles 24/7.

15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

AoMomo no competition. The childhood best friends to lovers. Momoi literally being Aomine's ideal girl, Momoi not realising that she likes Aomine because she liked kuroko. Aomine always protecting her no matter what. The two of them being throught thick and thin with eachother.

I just love their relatioship whether or not it is platonic or romantic.

SO I finally read the first Unwind book by Neal Shusterman and wowowowow people were not lying it's so genuinely incredible. Like no joke, even if you read this goofy post read the first book. It's not perfect (looking at you 2007 era feminism) but it's haunting my thoughts. I don't think it will ever fade. And you know the one scene. You know.

What I'm saying is, even after reading (and starting the 2nd book) of this very grounded, fleshed out world, I had to look it up on a03. With Jason Todd 💀💀💀

It doesn't seem to exist so here's some AU ideas/HCs

Note: This is for fun, and I do not know the ending to the series. This post will spoil general plot points of the first and second books.

-Bruce is a moderate on unwinding. He would, of course, never unwind HIS kids but he trusts s c i e n c e and it follows logic

-just for fun, maybe the person who killed his parents was an awol unwind, and hes grateful that person was able to live on in a better form

-bruce wayne has great security, and the family is intense about preventing storked babies. But if a mother does try, they usually send at least 1k to help, and a lot of mothers go to his house to get some financial assistance

- dick traveled a lot, met a lot of different people. I think he met a lot of unwinds, and his parents were pro not murdering teens, but they couldn't house them for more than a day or two. The law pays more attention to transient spaces they can track after all

-all of this to say dick loved meeting and showing off to new people, and doesnt like the cops, and doesnt like that they get so scared. His parents/troupe influenced him a lot but no one has really said any of this aloud to him since he's so young. Hes never feared being unwound, not seriously.

-my ideal fic wouldnt be dick focused, so his character progression might be depressing here.

-he thinks unwinding is immoral, says it feels wrong, doesn't use words like soul. He is passionate about this issue when directly confronted, but he believes temporary help is the best he can provide.

-dick feels secure he wont be unwound for two reasons. Bruce knows hes too capable to be detained by cops. And dick knows that bruce couldn't live with himself if he condemned dick to a divided existence, no matter what his logic says.

-Unwinding is a huge blur of grey for batman in chaotic, unpredictable Gotham. For brucie wayne, clinking champagne glasses with a teenager's hands, complimenting an elderly investors washboard abs, unwinding is a fact of life. But for bruce wayne, the father, the son, unwinding would always be a prolonged muder. Bruce does not ponder those feelings deeply. He does all he can (he doesnt)

-Dick doesn't like that they rat on violent runaways/unwinding awols, but he knows they fill in lower gaps as goons. He hates it at first, and bruce does learn to ignore more. But dick learns the dangers of desperation. He meets nore people who agree with unwinding, tithes, and as he grows into larger scale problems/hero teams, he loses sight of the bigger government issue.

-all this to say, as an adult, dick does what all his parents did in a way (money, hidden spots he knows, advice he's picked up on) but his morals match bruces more than his parents. He thinks that tithing is okay if the kid is 17 and consents, understands that religion is personal, despises the state homes doing it the most (bruce has given so much to those leeches).

-i dont know enough about the teen titans to know how theyd feel, how that would impact dick, if he'd even /have/ the entire team or if some became unwound

-oh my god unrelated note clark as a teen, despite being very loved, was glad he was indestructible. Docs dont use kryptonite

-jason jason jason my boy jason. So yes unwind awols are pretty natural to him, working girls, hes against the process bc he knows a lot of families who do that to kids & he gets it

-in this au he could keep the canon backstory. It still hurts bc he especially feels then he was a burden, storked by one of willis' exes. Or he could be fully storked from the jump. His bio dad is dead, shelia is the only one alive. Bruce is more anti-shelia initially bc she storked him but he knows some people do want to see their kids later in life? This also impacts his early social clout, since storks are looked down on. Maybe especially so where he's a 'real' burden.

-hes a lot more intense than dick abt unwinds, is deeply paranoid bruce will unwind him and has to be reassured bruce would never personally do that. Jason doesnt want to use unwind body parts, but bruce will always choose jays life over his 'moral high ground.'

Jay says he doesnt want to go back to bruce, talia fucked him over, she seems guilty so the training still happens, mainly as an urge to finish what she started, and maybe fulfill that initial goal someday

- im the most torn on this bc i think jason would never want to risk being their guinea pig again.

-he does not kill anyone until its a parts pirate. Talia sent him to increasingly pro unwinding people to force his hand for sure. Either to have a reason to cut him off, or to make their moral worldviews align more.

-Jay is def vaguely suicidal, self disgust. So this is punishment for him + scumbags. It also puts the body to a purposeful use, in honor of the kid.

- this is also the reason I'm not focusing on characters that come after jason much. His impact would need to be felt in some way in the stories, but I dont know where yet

-i think tim is part of a much, much larger family here and he didnt go to a fancy school. In canon his grades are mid, and even tho his parents love him, he has a lot of competition.

- him being robin makes his life a lot harder. Maybe after jack +janet die the gov actually orders most of the kids to be unwound bc state ho budgets etc. The uncle thing is very legitimately needed lmao

- steph storks her baby yes, but now she's able to keep track of their life in a really unhealthy way.

I mean when you’re that neglected and want SOMEONE to care even a little about you, wouldn’t you do the same thing?

Vague My Little Pony bedrock bros au/ideas fuck this is unhinged behaviour, i drew good art to accompany it as i explain the mental illness (tw for major character death)

Going off the assumption that either anyone reading this doesnt know about mlp plot-wise or just doesnt know that much about it plot-wise. So im gonna say the few things that is kinda important to this au, if you know what the things are skip it its a lot of words:

Changling - Hivemind Bug like creatures that are kinda pony shaped. They can do magic(they have a horn), fly (they have wings), shapeshift, and their main thing is eating love. <- eating love is a legit need for them, like food - without eating love they will starve (this episode shows that, starting at around 7 minutes (theres also a banger song at around 17 minutes, but thats my bias talking)) The way they eat love is by shapeshifting (into someones thats loved) and then feeding off that love. They can also shapeshift into just a random pony that doesnt exist. Also this is what a changling looks like, btw. Easier to show than explain v

And the hivemind part is a bit iffy? I mean they say its a hivemind but in the episode i linked the changling (forgot their name because im a fake fan :( ) wanted a friend the second they were hatched so who knows. This isnt that serious this is me making bedrock bros angst from mlp world

Anyways! In my au/idea-for-angst, changlings feeding off of a person's love can harm the person they're feeding off of. I don't know if its like that in canon, which is why i'm saying its an au thing

Tantabus - In canon it's only in Princess Luna's dreams, but canon is dead i shot it, so thats not important. But the reason it exists is Luna felt guilty and made it so that it would give her nightmares (oversimplification, but it's fine) Photo example of what it looks like v

Pony - There are four types of Ponies. Earth pony (no wings + no horn), Pegasi (Have wings but dont have horn), Unicorn (no wings but have horn), Alicorn (Royalty. Have wings + have horn). Ponies also have cutie marks, which is just basicly a magic tattoo they get when they discover their talent/passion

Time for more words. I have two versions of this au/idea, but im gonna start with the one i drew things for.

Tommy is a changling (his wings are too damaged to fly with) and Techno is an earth pony. Tommy is a pretty young changling who Does Not like being a changling. He wants to be a pony, but at the same time he wants people to love him for being him. it's contridictory.

He doesn't take form of anyone specific, the first thing he sees are two disks resting on a bench and he decides that can be his cutie mark. He's never heard music, but he thinks he wants to.

He meets Techno, a potato farmer with apples coated in gold and Tommy didn't know that was possible, and turns out it's just a decoration and he did try to eat it but does it really matter if Techno gave him some love for it?

Techno keeps loving him, and maybe he realized something was wrong when standing for hours started to feel draining when it never had before. Maybe he realized something was off when Tommy's main was growing wrong - jutted out, the hair stiff - and maybe he shouldve realized when Tommy barely hid a gag when he ate anything techno gave him.

It takes time. Techno has a job, but he can't do it anymore. He's tired - it doesnt seem physical until he needs to close his eyes for longer. It doesnt seem like a big deal until silent acts of love towards Tommy make him need to take a nap.

It doesnt seem like a big deal to Tommy, until he realizes that this is why it's so hard to feed a big group. This is why he was allowed to leave alone, because the town is too small and they thought he was smart enough to feed off not just one person.

It doesn't seem like a big deal to Tommy until it's been months, he is full, and Techno stops opening his eyes.

It doesnt seem like a big deal until Techno's last muttered words are that he knew, and he should have done something diffrent, but-

Techno, who's cutie mark is a sword going into his skin - Techno, who's real and true and is able to love. Techno, who may as well have been born for this and who regrets this.

Techno, who stops, either because he physically cant say more or because he mentally cant. Soon enough, his chest stops rising.

Techno didnt like flowers that much, but he didnt mind them and liked the smell of the golden ones outside of his home. He wore it in his main. And tommy, a changling without much of a main or tail, wraps himself in golden flowers and sits close to Techno. There's no use pretending anymore, but he still does.

Tommy makes a Tantabus for himself, he closes his eyes not unlike Techno, and he lays down.

And he dreams.

And the flowers around him wilt.

And he can't hear anything from the hivemind - he hasnt been able to for a while now. He doesnt know how that happened, why it happened, or if it was always like that.

If there was one major thing you could change about bg3, what would it be?

If I'm being purely self indulgent: i wish there was an option to save me as a redeemed durge because I just want a chance to be someone who I actually wanted to be :') and it would piss Bhaal off if you just refused to kill me. You love me so much pleasseee don't kill me or at least don't do it because bhaal told u too. But i understand the Narrative Importance so this is just me being sad

My actual answer: Fix wyll's quest/storyline/romance. First off, give him the agency to make his own decisions like the other companions can. Second, give him SOME form of retribution against mizora. Astarion kills Cazador, Shadowheart kills Viconia and defies Shar, Lae'zel and Gale tell off their goddesses, Karlach kills Gortash...but Wyll is stuck playing nice to Mizora the whole fucking game no matter what.

The whole lose-lose situation regarding his dad pisses me off. The fact that sacrificing himself to save his dad (WHO DOESNT DESERVE IT) is framed as the "right" decision really irks me. Maybe I'm just Morally Bankrupt but I don't think Wyll who is only like 24 should have to sacrifice his whole life and afterlife to save his fuckass useless father who literally disowned him. Let him drown in Gortash's underwater torture labyrinth, i don't fucking care.

His act 3 romance is dependent on saving his dad too. If it were up to me (and it should be) it would be dependent on finding Ansur. I just don't like that he's constantly getting the short end of the stick in EVERY situation even when his personal quest is supposed to be finished. It doesn't feel like he is being empowered like the other companions at all. And I think bg3 has a weird attitude toward male victims of abuse specifically gale and wyll in general because it's never even mentioned how predatory the relationships with their respective Authority Figures are (especially considering wyll was 17 and gale was an actual child too)

i dont have specific sources on any of these rn bc im writing this on my computer and also bc its probably something i saw once and didnt bother to save or anthing so. bear with me here.

-baby iyami. loveless child. born by a mother who always knew she would be better off without him and sharing the sibling moniker with an unironic sociopath older brother. emotionally neglected and naturally socially inept due to autism, along with like.. looking like that. you know he was torn to shred by everyone. japanese kids are RUTHLESS his entire elementary/middle school experience was getting his face dragged across the concrete and his lunch money stolen. i imagine he starts to become rlly jaded and outwardly mean as a defense mechanism in like 2nd/3rd grade, finally realizing that this shit isnt all sunshines and rainbows lil bro and that no one likes him. he went to school with both honkan and kaoru, honkan he would always get into scuffles with but kaoru was like the only kid that ever genuinely attempted to be nice to iyami. read: attempted. because iyami has bpd at the ripe age of 7 and a half and screams at him whenever hes around for no reason other than that hes really scared of him being a genuinely kind person. hes a fucked up kid in a fucked up situation surrounded by nothing but apathy and misunderstanding of how he works and thinks and wants. the scar on his face comes from an incident with his older brother who i imagine got so mad at him one time that he chased iyami around with a knife threatening to slit his throat open. luckily (or probably more unluckily) he just sliced the side of his face open. that was the first and last time that iyamis mother actually worried for him. and by "worried" i mean get mad at both of them for fucking around like that and then not taking iyami to get stitches because "he'd be fine."

-iyami's highschool experience is. slightly less horrific. mostly because hes kinda just accepted that everyone in the whole world hates him and at some point realized he should just live out of spite to piss everyone else off. he never really had any career dreams mostly since the only career he realistically could have was wage slave in the city, which would be like sending him to death row for him. due to his autism and prolonged abuse from all sides, hes become kind of an expert at knowing how people work, though he doesnt necessarily understand any of it. he realizes that he would much rather be a backpeddler on the streets than a corporate slave, so when hes kicked out at like 16/17 for being literally just a curseon his mother at that point hes right out there trying to charm his way into any way to make money. first couple years were difficult, i imagine he just. didnt finish highschool due to being homeless immediately. he always had a kickass sense of style though, and maybe bc he was younger he managed to pull off charm much more successfully. honestly i dont have too many any specific ideas ab this era sowwy... bc it kinda just exists as "the part before chibita" which speaking of

-his twenties and thirties is spent like the exact same way. like the autism is strong in this one hes very content with just being the worst. but thats only because he literally sees no other way for him to live because its all hes been offered to do by life. quite fucked up! but that leaves him with a great optimism and positive "nothing in life matters!!!!" attitude. i actuallyyyyy dont know exactly how to span this next part.... but i was thinking that he met chibita when the kid was around 6 and iyami was 30. iyami just kind of... adopts him? as a weird sort of nephew. but at the same time iyami is in a perpetual state of childishness so sometimes chibita is like the parent/uncle to iyami. theyre so strange. but speaking of iyamis childishness Yeah theres some side effects of prolonged neglect and trauma since first memory surprisingly!! iyami kind of aged backwards, having to mature early to try and protect himself and keep some level of sanity, he was never really treated like a kid especially not by mother and brother or even other kids. now that he's an actual adult his brain has sort of flipped over, now stuck in a weird area of feigning immaturity in every situation that isnt immediately "life-threatening" in his eyes. all that to say that iyami is agere and is basically regressed somewhat at all times and it just varies depending on the situation.

but yeah this era. a couple years after meeting chibita he ships himself off to the city suddenly hoping to be able to make something happen there Kind of an early mid-life crisis moment. and boy it is not great! this part is where i dump the rest of trauma on him but you dont get to hear that. something something tougou's crime ring. after like a bit under a year he ends up coming back and... HOLY FUCK IS THAT A REFERENCE TO THE FIRST EPISODE OF OSOMATSU-KUN 1988??? you bet your sorry ass it is. im literally so smart they shouldve hired me to make ososan dude.

-osokun '88 era happens ig?? his old situationship behated kaoru is a cop now apparently and he's stationed right in iyami territory. quite awkward! kaoru doesnt particularly like him 1 because like. cop/criminal dichotomy first of all. 2 because iyami was a cunt to him and honkan for seemingly no reason their entire childhood and 3 iyami seems to have a really weird complex of being mean and hating kaoru currently but also obviously going out of his way to get in kaoru's way. quite immature! i explained why that is though. kaoru in his infinite sweetnes though eventually just kinda feels bad for the dude because its kinda just pathetic at this point and also because he DOES know that iyami is actually a super cute sweet guy because there was one (1) time where as a kid iyami let his guard down around kaoru and played with him at his house after school just to be completely ripped to shreds literally and figuaratively by his classmates the next day when kaoru was acting super friendly with him and iyami just kinda blamed him for it for like 20 years. VERY pathetic! but he was like 9 dude. kaoru understands this and kinda just... lets iyami wreak havoc more than he would other people partly bc he still thinks hes pretty silly.

i have a whole big episode idea of the two getting together and probably hundreds of headcanons and ideas about the two together but tbh?? im gonna spare you and keep it as paraphrased as i can manage for both of our sanities. but watch me go back and edit this post or make a new one just infodumping ab everything about them.

but like yeah ig events happen. hey do u remember iyami's "daughter" who is actually his niece because there is no fucking way in any reality that this guy has procreated?? well she comes in sometime around here becasue her father (still an untreated aspd) kind of doesnt give a shit and neither does her whore mother and they choose to dump their kid off with uncle iyami for the summers now. yay!! i also have a lot of headcanons and stuff ab her (her name is hiyori btw) but thats for another post.

iyami's family turns into basically him, his husband, and his two (sometimes three) (some not actually legit) (and one is gone when it isnt the summer) neicephews. isnt that awsome??? i cry and scream and throw up just thinking about it. sometimes iyami is the nephew but thats awesome. sometimes a family can be some gay man and an orphan that is his husband's nephew and his husband's actual niece, his husband's lesbian best friend that is basically an aunt at this point, and his husband who is sometimes also his nephew/child because of cptsd and they are all autistic. truly beautiful stuff.

so I’m on s2 (doki) episode 66 and I’m just BAFFLED at how fucking MANIPULATIVE IKUTO IS TO AMU when they are having to room together. maybe it’s because of my manipulative mother that triggered this but holy FUCK I HAVE TO RANT ABT IT

so amu comes home from school right, and she feels so fucking guilty because she’s keeping him at home a secret— especially from Tadase, whom she is currently exploring her deeper feelings with. she repeatedly in the last episode told him to leave but decided to let him stay because she felt bad. WHY ?

imma tell u why, this man is pulling the emotional card without us even knowing. here’s the example.

so she comes home and is pissed the fuck off because not only did she tell yoru and ikuto into stay in her bedroom to avoid getting caught, but yoru decided to get completely sidetracked and throw yarn all over the place (imo this scene was very funny but I digress).

they go upstairs and she yells at them, and asks her charas to pass them the Taiyaki she bought. it’s annoying and silent but the charas start eating the Taiyaki (lmao fr I’d be hungry too bitch) and amu says something along the lines of “it’s not like I was worried about him the whole time here and at school or anything…”

this man fucking says: “oh you were thinking about me all day long???? sounds like love to me.”

this RUBBED ME THE WRONG WAY.

reminder that Amu is 12 in canon and Ikuto is 17. AMU’s brain is still in development and this man is trying to change her perception of love when she herself has NO FUCKING CLUE WHAT IT IS YET. (At least not in depth, girlie is naive but not stupid)

and then amu goes on to tell him he’s a jerk, a pain in her butt and about how she was annoyed she couldn’t tell Tadase about him— she felt like a liar. she felt awful because Tadase is someone she really cares about. She doesn’t know if it’s LOVE, but she does know she has genuine feelings for him.

here’s the kicker. Ikuto then responds to this with “well if you’re unhappy, then kick me out for real.”

this is emotional manipulation at its finest.

due to Amu being young, she doesn’t have an in depth sense of right or wrong. And she knows hiding ikuto is making her feel like it’s wrong— and it is. but for him to say shit like that and know that she will instantly want to take it back and let him stay (IN WHICH SHE DOES AND STILL MAKES HIM ONIGIRI IM ANNOYED GIRLBOSS U SAID LEAVE AND HE DOESNT LISTEN!?!?!?! Brother.) you know mans would have walked right out since ikuto is known to be very independent, but he knew what he was doing with this shit. Sorry.

I know ikuto in this part of his storyline he is running away from Easter and it’s a whole fucking thing, but the fact he and yoru knew Amu was going to take care of him no matter what URKS ME. this put a lot of emotional stress on her— (not to mention I’m almost at the legendary Tadamu episode and that WHOLE THING MAKES ME SOB IK IK back to topic) it’s shit like this makes me feel so bad for Amu.

anyways, it's hot as FUCK. and i will explain why after this paragraph but first let me explain the reason i also love that ryo doesn't smoke!!

see, i personally am a sucker for analysing all the ways that amagai and ryo contrast in the film, and i love all the small things and big things that set them apart. (money, status, fighting skills, smoking, how outgoing they are). amagai smokes a lot (especially for someone who's like...17) and its presumed that he drinks too, and suzaki doesn't do either. honestly, he suzaki doesnt do much of anything. its like he fights and barely speaks and calls it a day. it represents how amagai is indulgent (or at least, able to indulge.) he can afford cigerattes and liquor and has the luxury of it not mattering much what he does or doesn't do. he can shirk responsibility and he may be responsible in some aspects but really not many, so suzaki has to be responsible (and as such, not drink or smoke).

but thats all film subtext and character analysis yadayadayada honestly i just want to see ryoki and yuta making out in ANY context but definitely as ryo and amagai.

for my last suzam fic i played around a lot in the beginning with the allure of cigarette smoke. amagai smoking makes everything all the more wrong, and suzaki finds him so hot, even more hot when he's smoking.

he watches smoke emit from amagai's mouth and shivers, because even though he doesn't do it, he loves it when amagai does.

so, as for shotgunning, if ryo and amagai were to shotgun, it's likely that amagai would coax him into it with subtle hints.

"come on, suzaki. don't you want to try it?"

and maybe he'd say no. but amagai would probably ask again at some point (in a non creepy way, maybe just a double checking)

and there's no lie that ryo's interested in it, if not solely for the fact that amagai does it, and amagai looks hot while doing it.

i imagine amagai handing ryo a cigarette to smoke in that upstairs room in senomon, and ryo not fully inhaling the smoke. doing it wrong. so amagai tells him how, and when he tries again, he coughs up a lung, and the cigarette smoke burns and tastes awful (since amagai smokes real cigarettes, and not any flavoured vapes or anything more tolerable), and ryo hates it.

until, amagai offers him a new way to smoke. he coaxes ryo over to him, and of course, ryo would do it eagerly, quick to please any way he can. amagai inhales deeply, and holds it, then he pulls pulls ryo close, so close that maybe ryo thinks they're about to actually kiss. ryo is probably thrilled, filled with anticipation. but amagai blows smoke directly into ryo's mouth. he'd probably choke again, still not love the taste either.

but, i'd bet money that he'd do it again and again.

hell, maybe he stops even actually inhaling the smoke, just holding it and blowing it. maybe there's fear of getting addicted to the tabacco (like amagai possibly is) or maybe he's just not into it.

but its a way to be close to amagai, a way that he craves but knows he can't get, and if shotgun kisses are the only way that he can get it, then he'll take what he can get.

1) other than with your f/o(s), how are your insert’s relationships with other characters like? have they made any close friends or enemies+ how did that happen?

Being part of the Guardians' team, she's pretty good friends with all of them. She can get into arguments with Q.uill once in a while, but usually they all get along. Before joining the team, she used to be absolute besties with OG G.root. She's also very close to N.ebula, due to all the time spent during the blip with her and R.ocket. Her only "enemy" for that matter would be my oc, Aeneas, but once he drops the "overthrowing the monarchy by marrying the princess" act, they become friends again.

2) what about their reputation, are they well known outside of their circle? what do others initially think or assume about them?

"Morgen Krantz, fugitive princess of Zteamer. That's a mouthful. " Most people see her for her princess title, assigning her the stereotypical traits of a princess (spoiled, arrogant, pretentious etc.) and even mocking or belittling her, reminding of the failure that her species had become. Those in the art world are more familiar with her interests, but still reduce her pieces and artworks to her name rather than actual skill. She is not hated, but most dont think highly of her either. Those who are familiar with her father or have business relationships with her planet respect her and try not to get on her bad side, so that they wont have to suffer the consequences.

3) what were your f/o(s) first impression of them? vice versa, what was your insert’s first impression of your f/o(s)?

He was rather annoyed at her inability to shut up. He felt bad for her somehow and didnt want to bring her back to Zteamer, as he realised she doesnt deserve to be deprived of freedom. But hell he was annoyed with her for the first few days. He obviously grew very fond of her and wouldnt let anyone dangerous hurt her, but it took him some time to accept her with all her quirks. She was incredibly kind and warm to him from the very beginning. She admired him and saw him as her hero for saving her - but she wanted to impress him and prove herself as a valluable member of his team. Her insecurity faded over time after they joined the Guardians, but she still wanted him to think that she was "cool".

4) what’s one thing you and your self insert(s) have in common?

Appearence! We look the same except for the eyes and maybe hair because i just got a really ugly haircut. But id say we look fairly similar :3

5) what’s one thing you and your self insert(s) don’t have in common?

Morgen is a vegetarian. I could never. I love shrimp too much. Also charcuterie boards and bbq and salmon and pork paté. I cant give those up, sorry girl.

Errrr she is Morgen Krantz (actually thought about naming her Mörgen to differentiate it from the canon character named Morgan but i decided against it; i can only hope people understand its MY self insert.....), her age ranges from 17-32 (17 when she left her planet, she's 20 in vol 1 and vol 2, 24 in IW when she starts dating Rocky, 29 in EG, 32 in vol 3 etc), she's 150 cm or 4'11" and as for her abilities, she can deatach her arm and use it in battle, she wields weapons, she's reisistent to fire and lasers, and later when she gets stronger she can manipulate the starry mass she's made of in her favour (its hard to explain without visuals, leave me alone😭)

8) how would they spend their day to day in your f/os’ universe? do they have a job or any other daily commitment? a routine they follow?

She pretty much hangs out with the team exclusively. As a "job" she goes on missions with them; she also gets comissioned by other people for paintings or sculptures. I suppose she has her separate art hobbies, and she often attends events related to that or goes on cute little dates with her boyfriend, but you can find her most of the time on the spaceship or wandering around on N.owhere.

9) when does your insert come into the story and what part do they play in it? how do they fit into everything, and how does the story change with them involved?

Unlike Frogeru who actively changes the story (yeah the KG too - secret frogeru lore!) , Morgen is just an addition. Her story and specific events are just extras to the already existing one, because i really like it the way it is already (unlike..danganfart...). I just wanted to give Rocky another friend (and partner tehehe), who'd be there since the beginning.

11) when & how do they get introduced to your f/os?

After she escapes her planet on a random ship that visited her planet, she's found by two bounty hunters, R.ocket and G.root. Instead of taking her back home, they let her join their team, giving up the immense reward for her being brought back to her father in favour of her freedom. This was a few years before vol 1 happened. Her romantic feelings for Rocky start after vol 2 and their relationship gets official in the time between IW and EG.

12) what about their fashion & aesthetic? what kind of clothes do they usually/like to wear for the everyday, or when they’re all dressed up for some special event?

She's pretty dressed up all the time - she is a princess afterall. She's got her casual clothes too, but prefers being extra. Her clothes are quite fancy (and expensive), she loves frills, accessories, gloves and ribbons. Here is a link to her outfits sheet.

13) ^ is it anything practical you would wear irl, or is it a little unrealistic and purely for the sake of having a cool design?

I want and need to own all of her clothes. All her accessories are practical and serve some sort of purpose. And they are so cute♡

14) if your insert were to become a canon character, how would they be treated by fandom? do you think they would get misinterpreted a lot?

Maybe..? She has a few traits that can be considered self-centered, but I doubt she'd be overly hated for that. Im not very familiar with the intricacies of the m.cu fandom, i dont know what characters are liked or not, even when i was part of it id just look at fanart and ignore everything else💀i should learn from past me!!! I do like to think there would be cute shipping artwork of Morket ^_^ ♡ even if their romantic relationship wouldnt be canonized, it could be implied in the movies after IW. like subtle little nods to them being closer. I also want a quick forehead kiss in vol 3 ;^; for when he comes back and morgen is relieved that he is alive. Oh yeah the fandom uhhh i dont know. Morgen is still pretty new in my life. I know there'd be some idiots that ship her with her friend-enemy (Aeneas) just for that stupid trope, but i doooont like it. Morgen belongs with R.ocket and i want to think about edits, amvs and anime styled fanart of them!

16) what does their living environment look like? is it minimally decorated, messy or super high tech & futuristic? is it a place you could actually/want to live in?

I didnt think much about it besides the very basics. It would be very decorated, she has a bunch of interests, but it would be clean. Not necessarly organized, she would leave her art supplies scattered around everywhere, but you'd never find food leftovers, laundry or trash thrown around there. Relatively clean, full of personality, but a bit messy if she is feeling creative and is working on a piece of art.

17) does your insert have any family? (whether it be familial f/os, ocs, pets or people based off your actual family)

I need to answer this game with Frogeru too, her family is SO much more interesting than Morgen's😭 She's got her parents, Otis and Marie Krantz. No siblings or other known relatives. Otis loves his daughter a lot, but is A TERRIBLE person and leader. Marie is a lot more chill, but pretty absent in her life. She likes her daughter as a person, but she doesnt consider her as her child (even if she is). I will elaborate later. Morgen doesnt have an awful relationship with her mom, but its not the best. She's closer to her father, but thats not necessarly for the better. He wants her to be safe but goes to extremes for it (literally locking her up in the castle and not letting her have any contact with other people). When it comes to her relationship, her mom approves of it and supports it, while her dad is completely weirded out once he finds out ("MY DAUGHTER IS DATING A TALKING MONGOOSE?????") But its too late for him to do anything because he'd be in prison, close to dying at that point. I will elaborate later.

Citra has people who love and care about her, Rowan doesn’t, he knows that (in this moment) if he died no one would really care or remember him, so when he finds Citra, someone who does care about him and would care if he died, he clings to it. I mean when you’re that neglected and want SOMEONE to care even a little about you, wouldn’t you do the same thing?

i always forget to send these in 😭😭 anyway, ive started a new WIP!! im currently calling it 'you cannot live on hope alone' but thats very liable for change in the future. ive made a few ocs for this world, but my favorite so far has to be mariah "mary" morrison. have a very, very rough summary of her life!!

mariah was always a really quiet kid, troubled home life and so on. she was always a bit more perspective then other ppl her age and ended up getting involved with a bad group of people when she was about 17. at first, she wasnt too afraid of said group. then little by little, they got more violent around her. and then, im not sure on the whys or the hows, but someone was killed in front of mariah

cue her chopping her hair off in the bathroom, dramatic style. she then got on the first train and left to somewhere undetermined. she had very bad paranoia for some time, eventually her feelings mustve stabilized a bit, im not sure on the hows.

she then met dorrell when she was 21. i dont have too much on dorrell at the moment, but his set of issues left him willing to run away with someone he met like 2 weeks ago (possible exaggeration) so you can see how well hes doing. note: he may be running away from something too, but im not sure what

mariah and dorrell are dating in a romantic way and a queerplatonic way, the labels dont really matter. what matters is that they are ride or die to a stupid degree. they could be bf and gf or best friends, it doesnt matter what word you assign to them, if that makes sense? theyre just insane idiots being insane idiots together it matters to me that while she is strong, she isnt fully apathetic or unaffected. i feel like very often when female characters are strong in this sense, theyre emotionless and have those cinematic shots of a single tear running down their cheek and nothing more. while this can be done well, i dont think thats what i want for her. i want her to be strong and i want her actions to destroy her. every person she hurts, every person she kills weighs on her. and itll weigh on her for years, and even as she grows older, grows more apathetic to death, i still want her to carry that guilt. when shes younger, in her, what im calling paranoid arc, i want her to be emotional, and i want it to be ugly and raw. i dont know how her emotions stabilize to a more outwardly cool demeanor, maybe some arson-therapy.

its so important to me that everybody thinks shes calm and apathetic and isnt affected at all while shes slowly being destroyed from the inside, bite by bite. i just... i need her to be messy and rough. sorry, this is very very long, i have a lot of thoughts about her, evidently

Okay Iceland is trying to leave the house in a super slutty outfit.

Think like a completely mesh t-shirt, a choker, and booty shorts. And throw in some amazingly edgy makeup.

How do you headcannon each of the Nordics react?

Do they let him leave like that?

Do they love that he’s expressing himself?

Does Norway try to give him the “I’m not letting you leave the house dressed like that” talk?

The mental image I have for this is hilarious I wish I could draw good enough to show you! but since I can't plase imagine Ice in a slutty e girl emo techwear kind of outfit, trying to seak out of the Nordics’ house (where he stays for some unrelated reason):

Finland spots him from the living room and they stare at each other for a moment, before Fin does that locking his mouth and throwing the key away gesture followed by a thumbs up to the outfit and make up and a wink at Ice who exhales with relief and motions a quick "thank you" at Fin before he continues his way to the front door. He’s the caring kind of parental figure, but at the same time he knows that Ice is capable of taking care of himself (which Iceland is forever grateful for even if he doesn’t show it all the time). So, why not let that boy have some fun?

If he was alone, Sweden would maybe stop Ice or AT LEAST ask him about the outfit or where he’s headed too. If he approves of the outfit or not - I don’t know and I don’t think he would mention it. He just wants to know where any of his kids (if you can Ice even call that) are going to and how and when they’re coming back home. It’s not about being controlling or mistrusting for him, he just takes the father role he plays for Ice (and sometimes all the Nordics rip) serious and it gives him security to know about their whereabouts. But he already saw Finland giving Iceland the sign of approval, and doesn’t interfere with that.

Norway is the one who catches Iceland right at the door and basically pulls him back inside at the collar of his very fragile shirt. He’s also the one Ice had to be wary of, cause he knows the others usually don’t take that much of an interest in his private life. Well, Denmark sometimes does.. but back to Norway. The problem with Norway is that he WANTS to give Iceland the talk you mentioned above and he HATES the very little choice of clothes, BUT he’s nothing better. Probably worse. And Iceland knows. Therefore he ends up giving him the glare of disapproval and forces at least a jacket onto Iceland (that will be off again in no time but still) while doing Sweden’s job of telling him not to come home to late, to call if anything happens and to please use protection when he [*insert Iceland blushing and gesturing wildly to make Norway shut up*].

That is until Denmark shows up in the hallway to check out what Iceland is grumbling about. Ice should be used to the embarrassement of Denmark complimenting his outfit in completely outdated terms ("You look so hip! Totally rad, Icey!") but he still wishes Norway would just ground him on the spot to save him from Denmark now offering, no insisting, on joining Ice and taking him to wherever he is headed. It's not that he doesn't appreciate the interest or a free ride, but UGH which kid teen immortal being with the body of a teenager wants their EMBARRASSING uncle to join them when they tried to sneak out of the house unnoticed??

In conclusion: rip Iceland. They support him as good as they can, even if it's not what Ice wants most of the time, but he's grateful for his family and even if he complains sometimes, he wouldn't have it any other way cause it only shows they care about him. Also none of the others dares to mention it, but they all know he got that slutty streak from Norway. 😘
