literally dont do that just install ublock origin, and if u wanna go the extra mile check out ur browser settings, or use a fork that sets all those browser settings for you like librewolf. installing a hundred adblockers is just going to prevent each and every adblocker from doing their job right and itll make ur browser run like shit, plus it makes you more identifiable and vulnerable to fingerprinting via your specific addon setup. firefox already has many security options built-in as well

“Ariel has no interests of her own“ has got to be one of the dumbest arguments against Ariel I’ve heard (and that’s saying a lot).

And just further proves these people hating on Ariel never actually watched the movie or watched it like once years/decades ago and still base all their opinions on vague memories and misinformation spread by people who don’t even understand the movie, because the literal first time we ever see Ariel on screen she’s partaking in HER interest of treasure hunting for human stuff!?

I’m trying so hard to find the logic behind not counting this as “an interest of her own”. Is it because the stuff she collects is normal to us humans!? I don’t even know, I feel my braincells dying every time I try to understand the logic behind these arguments. But it’s a dumb argument either way, because it’s not "normal stuff” for Ariel and it’s nothing different from a human collecting mermaid items, and any reasonable person would count that as someone’s interest.

Like it’s one thing not to like Ariel for personal preferences, but I swear, 99% of the time the arguments people use for not liking Ariel are literally disproven in the movie!?

ok I just read litd and binged the whole hunger au tag and I am /obsessed/ it's so good! but one thing i need to know is like,,, do the hermits know he's a watcher? bc there's one line of tango asking if he still drinks water, but other than that the way the hermits are desperate for answers and then grian not even trying to defend himself when they find out he's behind the life games and saying the potions were for safety but not elaborating on why, it seems like they don't know.

Yeah this is smth i havent addressed the full details of yet (mostly bc the fic is a rough draft and is missing a LOT of the beginning connective tissue. If i were polishing this, it'd be far more cohesive) so this is a pretty good opportunity to mention it now!!

Part of the reveal that took place before the fic began was that Grian is a Watcher, he caused the Life games, and he was somehow altering their brain states-- which in turn affected their actions. They didnt really stop to find out more or even why before kicking him off the server. So they dont actually know yet that Grian has been starving literally ever since he knew them, and this was all a desperate matter of survival. All they know is that he's not a Player, and that clearly something they hadnt originally clocked was wrong, because once enough time had passed for people to start simmering down, the search party members began realizing just how out of character that kind of concentrated cruelty was for Grian.

The water remark from Tango isn't meant to be taken literally-- he's just anxious and doesn't know what to do, so he's cracking jokes in an effort to lighten the mood. It did actually almost work too skdjejdjd Tango my beloved
