Hey guys, I need your attention for two seconds:

The YouTube channel Wait in the Wings needs your help.

If you don't know who he is, Brendon creates videos that highlight the many various elements of Broadway; from epic flops like Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark to intricate details like the ins and outs of the Phantom Chandelier. His videos are masterful and the amount of work he puts in is incredible. I transcribe subtitles for this channel, and it has been an honor and a pleasure doing so.

In order to continue such amazing work though, he needs a lot of support. He launched a kickstarter about a month ago, and today (8/15) is the last day to donate.

I don't know what other people's thoughts are on this, but I'm kinda iffy with Six on Broadway. I love the musical itself and I think it has great caliber, but how is it a Broadway musical?

It has a cast of six people and is structured and treated like a concert, but its still qualifies for the same awards as shows with 30 costumes and actors to coordinate. I don't mean the work that goes into it is should be any less valued, but I haven't seen a conversation about this and have just had the thoughts on my mind lately.

As far as I know, the only dialogue is to transition between songs and (in my opinion) a lot of the music is used to fill time. Of course, this all adds to the overall energy of the work and isn't necessarily bad, but I wonder if it should be compared to the other shows who weren't made as a concert set , if that makes sense.

I'm no expert on musical theater history but I haven't heard or seen any show like that, except for Freestyle Love Supreme. Even that show, though, was given its own special Tony award.

SONG: can you hear me? - it's really hard for me to pick one favourite song (i have a playlist with his entire catalogue & it's 8h long), but i decided to choose this one because it's really special to me. it's so simple & yet it makes me want to cry every single time i hear it... the lyrics + his voice + piano...

when i heard you sing, it changed everything indeed...

MOVIE: you're not gonna be surprised here. vivo is my favourite animated movie & has the best plot & the best songs & it's sad & i actually wrote the entire essay here & there again, so just go & read if you want!

MUSICAL: as much as i love hamilton, in the heights owns my heart. why? because this story has everything it needs: amazing music, real characters, it's sad & it makes you cry but at the same time it gives you... hope. i cannot even explain how much it means to me, in the heights is my adopted child, ok? if you're not bored yet, go read this essay that i wrote after seeing it live!

TV SHOW: once again, no one's surprised... freestyle love supreme is literally everything to me. i could pick any other show, but this one has a very special place in my heart & as much as i love lin as an actor, i love him even more when he's just being himself (my man has so many talents & making up rhymes on the spot is one of them, you can see all of it in this show but also look at his hair).

INTERVIEW: there are a lot of crazy interviews that literally brought me to tears, but i would definitely recommend the recent one where lin talks about five songs that he loves... it's amazing to listen to him talk about music.
