#I've been doing some gradual spring cleaning over past couple of weeks #feels nice I've got a lot of my closets and cabinets organized already #but today I've been just hella tired and shiftless and achey and it's already half past seven #so I guess I'll leave cleaning the freezer for tomorrow #a cool thing happened earlier this week I managed to buy a carved water buffalo skull for 20€#they're usually pretty pricey several hundred euros at minimum #been stressing about summer getting closer #and whether I should partake in art fight this year or not #it's fun but I always end up overwhelmed #really thrilled that it's no longer freezing outside and there's so much light it's really boosting my energy levels #eagerly waiting for the bike lanes to thaw #answered #anonymous

Made a pot of chili from a 2 lb. chunk of clearance bottom round roast and a gallon-bag of frozen tomatoes from a friend's mom's garden and y'all. It slaps.

#I WILL BE DOING THIS AGAIN #I chopped up the bottom round real small but it's pretty lean so I didn't need to drain the fat off like with ground beef #the tomatoes made. A lot of broth #also protip if you need to peel tomatoes for sauce/soup/salsa #freeze them hard then thaw them in warm water. Skins slide right off. Nice.

Omggg what ended up happening yesterday 👀

Luckily I didn't have to hold all night, the key card doors ended up being open when my roommate tested it, so I was able to use the public restroom before bed. I was really lucky though, cause I drank thinking there'd be a bathroom for me. I had a morning mug of coffee (approx. 16 oz), a 20 oz bottle of soda, and a 12 oz can of sparkling water over the course of the day, and I hadn't gone besides in the morning. Even so, I woke up at like a 4.5/10 and went to get my new key immediately lol, so thinking about how it could've been if I let all that hit my bladder . . . it's a lot haha @~@

#maybe one of these days I should pretend my key card is missing so I can't use the restroom #or else freeze it so i have to wait for it to thaw or something #yknow what Im saying?#just thinking of stuff hehe #rashi answers

over a year ago i went down a rabbit hole of the DNA as data storage movement and to this day i STILL don't get what the end goal was. where are you storing the dna once you put data in it. a freezer farm? but several paper talked about the utility of not needing electricity in case of disaster. are we burying it in tundra? putting it in an organism and hoping it doesn't get corrupted???

#one paper was like 'we put it in bacteria and the data was still in tact after 100 generations'#oh so a day and a half???#i guess if your freezer farm went down then the dna would probably still be recoverable later #like not a LOT later and repeat freeze/thaw is bad for almost everything but #it wouldn't be the end of the world
