𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚: Jangmi is a sweet girl who has been through a lot. She’s friendly but can be a little untrusting of some people even though she doesn't show it. Flirtatious and giggly, she tends to people please a lot at work but definitely isn’t someone to push too far. She can be rather relaxed and soft but knows how to read people and doesn’t often take shit from anyone, she may cry but she does her best to stand up for herself. Jangmi was often used as entertainment for her owner and his friends, passed around like a toy, paraded like a show pony and put in her place if she ever stepped out of line. One of the friends took her to wonderland while he made a deal with Irene and before they left, the Devil gave her a number to ring if she ever wanted out. Jongin was the reason for this and while it would have been easy to have gotten her out then and there, it needed to be a decision made by the hybrid herself. Jangmi is one of the few who don’t owe Irene anything, an act of kindness rather than a contract simply because Jangmi’s deepest desire was freedom - something she cherishes deeply and Irene understood this desire. Recently, her life has changed dramatically as her old owner was killed by @doom-bc and she has been granted her freedom completely. This has meant that Jangmi has been doing a lot of things she never could have done in the past.

𝑷𝒉𝒚𝒔𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆: 162cm (5'2); piercings; single in each lobe, belly button. A fox tattoo around her ankle; spends more time half-shifted, fox ears and tail; wears a collar and bracelets to hide scars. While shifted, she’s a small white arctic fox

𝑰𝒏𝒇𝒐: Jangmi is a hybrid fox who does not know her ancestry due to being estranged. She loves fashion, swimming and being out night clubbing or dancing. She doesn't like obnoxious and overly loud behaviour or when people mess with her head. Jangmi is able to half/full shift into a fox and has heightened senses that come with that. She is extremely flexible and fits into small spaces, has quick reflexes, and can communicate with other canines. She loves small and cute things and has a huge plushie collection that keeps on growing. For her birthday in 2023, @moonlightchn gave her a bunny named Whistler who she loves so much and is now very spoilt and cuddled daily.

𝑼𝒏𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅:

A hybrid and shifter are similar but one major difference is that a shifter typically cannot half-shift and are supernaturally enhanced. A hybrid is half-human and do not have the same supernatural or magical properties a shifter has. They also require more energy to remain completely human and not all of them can fully shift.

Shifters are created by magic or other element but a hybrid is said to be descended from legendary creatures and Gods that no longer roam the Earth. Their powers and grace gone over the centuries due to mixing with humans.

Jangmi lives in an apartment that Chan had bought for her, it's become her home ever since she was rescued and she loves it there.

The scars Jangmi has are due to her always trying to run away and being punished by being chained to a wall.

Jangmi does have siblings but she doesn’t remember them nor would she know them if she met them. Her mother gave her up to her master when she was very young.

Jangmi has had a string of bad relationships. She’s been abandoned, left for someone else and made to feel like an object to be claimed rather than loved.

Jangmi has had terrible standards in the past but her friendship and dynamic with her Alpha has helped her realise that she is deserving of love and care.

Recently, Jangmi as been spending time with Doom and teaching him about human traditions and helping him adjust to life on Earth. She bakes him a lot of food and has him go with her nearly everywhere especially if she can't have Chan go with her.

Anyone else feel like they blinked and suddenly it's 2024? Like 2023 was one of the speediest years I've ever experienced. It went by so quickly that i mistake my memories from early 2023 as being more recent! If that's a good thing or a bad thing is undetermined but I'm hoping 2024 won't go by so quickly so I can cherish it more, so I've made my resolution to spend 2024's days more intentionally.

I hope everyone had a nice new year's day! I feel like if new years day goes well then it sets off the year on the right foot :D my day was a bit gloomy, honestly, it turns out people in this city can be kinda ruthless. Hopefully that means things can only get better as 2024 continues eh? :)

Do you guys like to make resolutions? They can seem a bit pointless I think, but it's a nice thing to try and achieve, even if it ends up being short lived 😂 what kind of resolutions do you guys make?

“Wooyoungie, stop.” Seonghwa sighed, looking at his dongsaeng through the mirror. His face was full of worry and a hint of disappointment.

Wooyoung slumped into himself, bracing himself on the sink. With Seonghwa cornering him in the bathroom across their dance practice room, he knew he was doomed.

“Hyung”, he acknowledged the elder and bent down to wash his face with the cool water. It gave him a second longer to compose himself. Though he was slowly doubting that there was anything left of him to piece back together, he felt so frayed.

He had been slacking in his duties, he was well aware, even though he had tried his best. But he was so so tired. 

Normally he was the loudest member of ATEEZ. It was just a fact of life, like how Hongjoong was the clumsiest person alive and Yunho was just an overgrown, human puppy. He also knew that none of his members minded, in fact he had been told on several occasions by some of the quieter members (namely Yeosang, San and Jongho) that it was a relief to have him so the attention was off of them, especially when tired and running on no sleep. 

ATINY sometimes joked that he was whiny and … well, maybe he was? Seonghwa and Hongjoong did joke about that too, but in a very kind and appreciative way. They didn’t mind and they liked taking care of him, right? Seonghwa said that Wooyoung was easy to love and Wooyoung was proud that he had managed to crack the walls that Hongjoong had built around himself in an attempt to fulfill what he perceived was the role of the captain.

So they didn’t mind focusing their attention on him, right? Wooyoung was the second youngest and with Jongho not quite happy with the typical maknae agenda, most attention was on Wooyoung. He knew that the older members liked taking care of him, even Mingi who liked acting like he was the maknae too.

Still, he wondered if he sometimes wasn’t too much? It wouldn’t be the first time that people would call him that, childhood friends and bullies alike had called him that. And the eldest had so much on their plates - he couldn’t take all the attention. 

Besides, he had missed so many schedules already due to his diagnosis of cholinergic urticaria earlier in the year. So many things had to be accommodated for him and he couldn’t help but feel … useless? Everybody was going forward in their careers and he himself was falling behind, falling backwards. It was only a matter of time before he was left behind in their shining glory.

So yeah, he had been quiet the past days, finding no energy to be active. No energy to bother his hyungs and their maknae in good spirit. It was exhausting enough to just quietly follow the schedule and hope that nobody noticed he was unwell again. 

For days Wooyoung had been simultaneously hot and cold, sweating and shivering at the same time. His body was aching like he had been through the worst dance practice ever (which he hadn’t - the past days they had been doing vocal training, so there was no reason for his muscles to be this sore). He was tired, even after eight hours of sleep, much more than he normally got around this time of year but everybody had been too busy to notice him skipping dinner in order to get to sleep sooner and skip breakfast in order to sleep longer. Still, despite not having eaten since lunch the day before he wasn’t hungry at all, the opposite really. Above all, the worst was the headache pulsing through his temples.

But all of that didn’t mean he couldn’t just stop working. There was so much to do. So much he had to catch up to. He owed it to his hard-working members.

Yet, when he resurfaced from the sink, Seonghwa had a frown of concern on his face, not a frown of anger. 

“We all know you’re sick, Young-ah”, his hyung then said, crossing the room to place a hand on Wooyoung’s shoulder. “You don’t have to keep going. We tried to pretend for your sake that we didn’t notice the last few days since you didn’t say anything but I’m starting to think that it was the wrong decision.”

“It’s fine, hyung”, Wooyoung countered, shrugging the hand off. “I’m fine. I can keep going.”

“And how long will you be able to keep it up? Will you stop before or will you go on pretending you’re fine until you’re so sick you’re out again?” Seonghwa’s voice was soft but his words caused anger to stir in Wooyoung’s blood.

He whirled around to face the older, ignoring the way the bathroom spun around him.

“You’re right. Again. Either I’m sick or benched or unable to participate. I’ve been out so often that it’s probably what you’re used to, right? So yes, I will work until I drop, until I can’t anymore, even if it’s the last thing I do. At least then I can say I did it for the group, considering I have barely done anything for the group the past half year.”

He huffed, breathing troubled as he finished his rant in one breath. It felt good to get it off his chest finally. All his thoughts and fears.

What didn’t feel good was the way he saw Seonghwa’s eyes start to tear up. It was clear he had not expected the words Wooyoung had spit at him. Maybe it was unfair of him to drop it all on his hyung, his hyung who was still grieving no matter how he pretended for ATINY he wasn’t.

“I don’t want to lose another person I am close to, Wooyoungie. Not now, not ever. Not you.” Seonghwa’s voice was shaky.

To his horror, Wooyoung felt tears burn in his own eyes, threatening to spill down his cheeks. He had really fucked up. He hadn’t wanted to make his hyung sad. Aggressively he wiped his eyes, trying to push past Seonghwa to exit the small room. He needed to get back to practice. 

He didn’t get far. His steps were weak, legs shaking like a newborn deer’s, and suddenly there were arms pulling him into a tight embrace. Wooyoung couldn’t deny that it felt good to be hugged, having longed for human contact ever since his skin started to get sensitive from all the sweat drenching his body.

He struggled against Seonghwa nonetheless, knowing if he stayed in his hyung’s loving arms any longer he would not get back to work again. No matter how much he shook, trying to push Seonghwa away, no matter how he begged to be let go - Seonghwa didn’t let go of him.

With a frustrated cry Wooyoung fell forward into Seonghwa’s chest, burying his face in the soft fabric of his sweater. One of Seonghwa’s hands ran up and down Wooyoung’s spine, the other cupped the back of his head. And Wooyoung sobbed until he was hoarse.

For all Wooyoung knew it could have been hours, days or years he had cried in Seonghwa’s hug. Any sense of time was gone. He just felt hollow and sick now.

His knees buckled and Seonghwa could do was to gently lower both of them to the floor, Wooyoung haphazardly sprawled over Seonghwa’s lap. The older still had a hand on Wooyoung’s back but now he moved to roll Wooyoung on his side and tenderly stroked back Wooyoung’s hair that had fallen into his face and stuck to the salty, wet skin.

“You with me, baby? Did you pass out?”, he asked.

“‘m good. I don’t think so”, Wooyoung mumbled, and then. “Sorry.”

“There is nothing you have to apologize for. You’re hurting and sick. Hyung is just really worried, you know.”

“I don’t want you to worry.”

“You’re our baby. We’ll always be worried about you, Wooyoungie, no matter if you’re twenty-five or eighty-five”, Seonghwa replied, “I thought you knew that by now. We will have to talk about everything you said. Later. For now: How are you feeling?”

“I don’t wanna talk now or later”, Wooyoung mumbled, completely drained. He couldn’t care less that the cold of the tiles was seeping into his skin and he was shaking again; his hyung’s lap was comfy and he was tired. He said as much, adding: “Cold. Sore. My head hurts. I just wanna sleep if you’re not letting me continue work anymore.”

“Thought as much”, Seonghwa said, placing the back of his head against Wooyoung’s forehead. “And you’re burning up. Are you itchy?”

Oh God, now that Seonghwa had mentioned it, Wooyoung noticed it. He subconsciously moved his hand to lift his shirt, wanting to get to what he supposed was a rash on his abdomen - again. He was stopped by Seonghwa taking his hand and lifting his shirt himself. 

“Oh dear. Let’s get you home so you can take your anti-histamine and some meds.”

Seonghwa’s idea was heaven. And his aching body was hell. There was no way that Wooyoung would be able to get up now that he had hit rock bottom, literally. His desperation must have shown on his face because Seonghwa chuckled lightly. “I’m not letting you walk, kiddo. Let me call Sangie for you, okay?”

By the time Yeosang arrived, Hongjoong in tow, Wooyoung was deeply asleep.

I was never meant to remain alone up here. It was supposed to be hours– twenty-two to be exact; everything in space is known and measured, precisely predicted. And yet, here I am—preparing to be completely alone for an unknown amount of time.

I hear the quiet whir of machines as I bound weightless from screen to screen, trying to determine my current status. But even as I look from screen to screen, my brain wrestles with a feeling of impending doom.

“Some issue with their main rocket,” the voice in the speaker tells me, “that’s why they aborted.”

I’ve prepared for situations like these. You don’t become an astronaut by being delicate or soft. I remind myself of the tough stuff I’m made of: graduating from The Naval Academy top of my class, breezing through medical school, and being recruited by NASA. Having a successful career as an astronaut—

“Dr. Scully, can you confirm your current velocity and the pressure parameters?” a technician asks, interrupting my inner pep talk. The technician is one of many voices from Houston—the Johnson Space Center, to be precise, where several dozen engineers and scientists monitor everything that is happening up here.

“Seventeen thousand, six hundred and eighty-four miles per hour, Houston. Pressure gauges are within limits.”

“Thank you, Dr. Scully. We’re working on next steps down here. The Director suggests you might do your daily exercises and report back when finished?”

“Affirmative.”

Houston ends the call. They’re still monitoring hundreds of readings—pressures, temperatures and speed among other things, but when our calls end, they mostly leave me alone.

Despite the isolation I feel at being alone here, it’s nice to have a bit of privacy in which to continue my mental meltdown. If every step I took up here was being watched as if I had a stalker…I think that would be worse.

I huff laughter at my thought—I don’t actually take steps here. I’m floating two hundred and fifty miles above Earth on the International Space Station. I push from a wall and float through a chamber into another section, finally ending up in node three.

ISS inhabitants are required to exercise daily for ninety minutes, a necessity to keep our gravity-less bodies healthy and strong. I use the weight-lifting machines and run on the treadmill—my body harnessed down so I don’t float away.

As my Nikes pound the platform, I close my eyes. I’m completely alone in space. No other human is with me, nor is anyone scheduled to join, thanks to a rocket issue with the Russians.

This was supposed to be the smallest mission on the ISS in terms of people; dubbed “Expedition 4A,” it was set to determine the minimum number of crew members that could successfully maintain the ISS between more elaborate missions. I am the lone American taking part, along with one Cosmonaut and one German who were set to join me today—but alas, the rocket failure.

I know I can handle myself up here—I’ve already been through some extraordinary situations with NASA. But, I feel haggard as I finish my run—my heart racing faster, my sweat beading harder, and my breath catching. It’s a panicky feeling I’ve experienced occasionally in life, but not in years.

I turn off the treadmill and take a deep breath, centering myself before returning to our main communications pod. Houston is waiting for me.

“Dana?” I hear the voice I recognize as Mission Director Walter Skinner booming through the speaker.

I pick up the headset—although I can hear through the speaker, the headset is much clearer. I turn on a monitor, seeing Mission Control brightly lit with dozens of bodies bustling about.

“Director Skinner. I’m here.”

“Alright, Dana. We’ve been discussing next steps. Our plan is to abort the mission and bring you back down, but it’s going to take us about a week to prepare.”

“Okay, sir,” I say. I’d love to argue the mission could continue with just me, but it’s not designed for one person, and I learned many years ago—as the daughter of a Naval Officer—that I need to accept the well-thought-out decisions of my commanders without debate.

“Also, we noticed a blip at the end of your workout—an anomaly—possibly indicative of a panic attack. Are you alright?”

How could I forget I’m hooked up to heart and respiratory monitors while exercising? Houston misses almost nothing—they can’t afford to—too much is at risk. “I’m alright, sir. I just needed a moment to collect myself. I uh—I haven’t ever been in space alone. I just needed to wrap my brain around that.”

I see Skinner nod his head. “I wondered about that. I’ve called for a NASA Psychologist to check in with you,” he shuffles his papers; “I’m not sure if you’ve worked with their team before…Dr. Diana Fowley runs the unit.”

“A Psychologist?”

“Just to make sure you’re feeling okay about the mission getting canceled and being up there alone.”

“Okay, sir.” For the second time in minutes, I begrudgingly accept the decision without further debate.

• To gain knowledge about the moisture condensed from the atmosphere that falls in individual drops, also known as rain, Dr. Fox will conduct fun science experiments.

• She will create and build a small rain gauge robot to measure how much rain she will receive.

• The doctor will test the pH level of rainwater with a pH meter and compare it to liquids from different sources, such as tap water, juice, lake water, and pool water.

• This science fox will investigate how clouds form, where they come from, and what causes rain through a water cycle experiment.

• She will propose that her friends and her go on a scientific nature hunt!

• She knows that after it stops raining, rainbows sometimes appear in the sky. She will want to do her research on why prisms produce rainbows and create an invention that makes prism rainbows. 🌈

🦅🕶️ Hawkodile:

• Rainy days don't bother him because they give him the chance to improve his combat training skills and witty one-liners in his treehouse.

• He intends to put together an indoor obstacle course using the ideas from his treehouse.

• With a flashlight, the green hawk-crocodile hybrid dude and his friends will create shadow shapes on the walls with their hands.

• He will imagine kissing Dr. Fox in the rain since it's considered romantic.

• He plans on staying dry on this rainy afternoon, so he's most definitely not going outside today. Nope, no way. Not happening.

• It can be very relaxing to listen to nature's music during a rainstorm, so he spends most of his time listening to the rain. He enjoys the soothing sounds.

• He might try knitting as there's nothing more cozy on a rainy day than a wooly sweater or scarf.

• The calming sound of raindrops causes him to take a nap.

• He warms up on the couch with some blankets while watching a documentary on the history of paperclips. 📎

• Makes a trip to the castle library to read some of his favorite old books.

Master Frown:

• When the low-level doom lord notices rain falling from his window, he gets excited! Seasonal showers tend to make people feel miserable, so he wants to see the sad looks of all the citizens for himself!

• He rushes downstairs and out the door past his boyfriend roommate Brock, who is playing video games on the couch.

• Outside, he sees that people are actually happy in the rain?! TIME TO MAKE THEM MISERABLE!

• After failing to cause distress, he heads back to his apartment where Brock recommends that they watch a classic black and white movie that is so bad it's good. He thought it would be funny to mock the scenes.

• Having nothing better to do, Frown sighs and agrees to watch this movie. He was gonna hate it. He just knew it.

• Master Frown is revealed to actually be enjoying the film (to his dismay), even consuming ice cream with Brock as comfort food to prevent the two from crying. Frown relates so much to the movie itself and the characters.

I respect Mods decision but I'd like to not talk about it. In fact, I'd like to keep away from anything related to Atlas or Jade or Hell forbid, them together.

I don't know why but it screws me mentally in a very wrong way. I just spent way too long in the bathroom, trying to clean my hands off of something that wasn't there (to the point my hands became a little numb and bruised) and they still don't feel clean, my body is shaking and I feel nauseous.

Ana Maria and the fox 🦊 by Liana de la Rosa is a historical romance 🥰 set in the Victorian era in England and has a slow burn 🔥 romance 🥰 between a Mexican heiress Ana Maria who is the sunshine ☀️ to the grumpy African politician, Gideon fox as well and a marriage of convenience and Ana Maria and Gideon’s relationship is amazing 🤩 and I love ❤️ how he knows to speak 🗣️ Spanish and can talk to her and her family in their native language and I’m so excited 😆 to read the next book 📖 in the luna sisters trilogy next year as well as India 🇮🇳 holton and Elise kova and tessonja odettes books 📚 too etc.

10. the moonfire bride 👰‍♀️ by Sylvia Mercedes has Fae , slow burn 🔥romance and combines beauty and the beast with the Greek myth of Eros and psyche and it’s so good 😊 and the protagonist is a seamstress and she can weave dresses 👗 out of moonlight and other things in the Fae world 🌎.

Bellegarde by Jamie lilac it’s a retelling of the movie 🍿 she’s all that in 18th century France 🇫🇷 and has two slowburn romances between evie and beau and evie’s best friend Josephine and beau’s cousin , Mia Bellegarde and I love 💕 these two couples and the book 📖 is very well written and phenomenal and it’s awesome 😎.

12. Daughter of the pirate 🏴‍☠️ king 🤴 by Tricia levenseller has an abundance of magic 🪄, sirens 🚨, pirates 🏴‍☠️ and a heart ❤️ pounding enemies to lovers romance 🥰 between riden and alosa and it’s a stellar book 📖 .

Queen bee by Amalie Howard is a retelling of the count of monte Cristo by Alexander dumas and takes place in the regency era and has an array of different romances from enemies to lovers and slow burn 🔥 and friends to lovers and LBTQ relationships and representation from the many biracial characters in the book 📖 and it’s a fantastic book 📖

LOTW finale Takao's ending 🦊

I finally managed to play the finale and I have mixed feelings, on the one hand, most things turned out well, on the other hand deciding between the throne and Takao was the one of the hardest decisions in the game for me. I will say my final decision in the last part of this post.

Let's start by the things that turned out well, Takao didn't lose his eye in my play, I still don't know how I managed to have a good relationship with Masamune but I'm not complaining. I also managed to meet a skillcheck with the exact points so I'm very grateful for that.

Now, let's move on to the bittersweet things

My decision 🦊

The way I arrived to my decision was by weighing all the pros and cons of both situations. Possible endings:

If Mei decides to stay with Takao:

Pros:

We get to end up with our love, living a peaceful but simple life in the village.

Cons:

The country gets doomed

Taxes rise

Poverty increases

There's lots of bloodshed under Sawada's reign as Emperor

Severe punishment against people who opposes Sawada

The ending of them together felt lackluster and too simple, it was just a very brief epilogue and they didn't even said if they married or not. Not worthy imo.

If Mei decides to take the throne:

Pros:

Profound reforms are made for the better of the country

Death penalty and public executions get abolished

Taxes affecting peasants and artisans get reduced

Riots and rebellions were avoided so no bloodshed

Noiryo regained its former splendor and the empire continued forward.

Cons:

Takao goes back to the village and sends letters to Mei from time to time

Takao and Mei don't end up together

So having measured all the pros and cons in both situations, I think the most logical decision was to take the throne, which was my final decision at the end. It sucked so much Takao couldn't become my Emperor (he would have made a very good and fair one) but he was unwilling to leave his clan people and my Mei was unwilling to abandon her Noiryo people too, they needed her too. So taking the throne seemed like the right decision to me, also it was for the greater good and my Mei deserves to be an Empress. I love Takao, I really do, but irl I wouldn't sacrifice my throne for a man either (specially not if he was unwilling to sacrifice his position too, I think that would have been unfair for my Mei). Also my Mei has a hip injury now so ninja and clan life wouldn't be suited for her, me thinks. So yes, bittersweet but who knows perhaps in the future fate reunites them again? 🤷‍♀️
