Hello everyone and hope your week is going well so far! Today I’m taking part in the #dearreaderchallenge which I saw on @wallflower_wade and @katereadbooks page! Did you complete your reading goal for 2022? Yes! My goal was 250 and I read 260 books 😊 What’s your reading goal for 2023? I’ve gone for 200 this year as I don’t want the pressure 🤣 I might up it or lower it as the year goes on. We’ll see what happens! What series/books do you want to read in 2023? Oh so very many. I’m taking part in the #whiskeyandperseverance War and Peace readalong, I’m reading Zola and Trollope for the first time and some more Russian giants, including Crime and Punishment 2023 five star predictions? See image - these are all coming up this year and I have high hopes for all of them! Books you want to re-read? I’d love to re-read Wild Swans by Jung Chang at some point and also carry on re-reading Philippa Gregory’s Tudor series. Hello beautiful bookish folk and hope you’re having or have had a good Saturday. Winding down here in the UK 🇬🇧 and I thought I’d do a little #stacksaturday #matchyourdrinkstack or #matchyourmugstack as I saw on the gorgeous @allthegenres page. I’ve read five books from this stack and four are still on my TBR. That might be a shock to some of you as normally it would be the other way round 😂 However, I chose to take it easy today and picked them from my newest bookshelf - hardback favourites and TBR books coming up soon. Still to read are - The Echo Chamber, Luster, Consent and From The Wreck. Read and enjoyed/loved are - Triflers Need Not Apply, The Muse, a Thousand Ships, The Island Of Missing Trees and The Exhibitionist. As always, I’d love to know all your thoughts! Hello all and hope your week is going well. Today I’m sharing the next five physical books on my TBR (I will be reading some Kindle ones also). I’m so devoted to get to all for these. The Switch - Beth O’Leary 🚪 @betholearyauthor first book, The Flatshare really surprised me. I’m not a fan of romance generally but she wrote a fantastic story with so much depth and heart to it that I was completely won over. This is the story of a grandmother and granddaughter who switch lives as they feel something is missing in their own. 👧 The Grace Year - Kim Liggett This book was on my last TBR post but I promise I’ll get to it this time! 😂 It’s a story that examines the complex and sometimes twisted relationships between girls, the women they eventually become and the decisions they make in-between. 🤫 Under The Whispering Door - TJ Klune I featured this book on one of my recent hauls. I loved Cerulean Sea so much and this looks to be just as heart-warming. It follows a ghost who refuses to pass over to the other side and the ferryman he falls in love with. 🧜‍♀️ The Mermaid Of Black Conch - Monique Roffey This follows a fishermen who sings to himself awaiting a catch and attracts a sea-dweller, an innocent young woman forced by jealous wives to live as a mermaid. It won the Costa prize for best novel and I can’t wait to read it! 🌊 From The Wreck - Jane Rawson This novel comes highly recommended from the wonderful @savidgereads and follows George Hills who was pulled from a shipwreck as the sole survivor. However he remembers someone or something else who kept him warm and alive. I’d love to know your thoughts on any of these books or authors.
