but in the end, ansbach overcomes that. he becomes a summon in the final fight of the dlc, against consort radahn and thus miquella by extension

upon entering the final boss arena, ansbach addresses radahn and miquella directly, "General Radahn. A pleasure to see you, after all this time. But those remains do not belong to you. Lord Mohg will have his dignity."

Cause the TDLR of Chiluc working is Childe helping Diluc realize that the Fatui are humans. And Childe is actually one of the more honest and upfront people. And he values Family. He does have traits Diluc would admire, and Diluc isn't so closed off that he wouldn't be able o see the good in Childe. And for Childe's part, he absolutely loves Diluc's physical and character strength. It would be slow, but it would be an enemy to friends and lovers. It works particularly well if you have them both following the traveler or if you have them meet in Diluc's time away.

Again I'm perfectly fine with people not shipping. But the characters do mesh super well together as they are incredible foils of each other.

Anyway, back to your ask.

I have stated before that the Abyss's main effect on Childe was disconnecting his humanity and emotions. But his care for his family has helped keep him together and from totally losing himself. And I have more about Abyssal!Diluc here. And a regular Anon around here as an Abyssal Soulmates AU here. Which has some detailed lore to it.

As for the wings idea, I absolutely adore its causes. Diluc is slightly older and would absolutely be protective of Childe. But Ajax would be one of the first to point to Diluc that He's a kid too. And they would just be so adorable and protective. It's totally the best.

You smiled and skipped to where your door is, turning the knob.

"Well actually there is still one more thing," Lucifer said, his voice suddenly too close. You spun around to ask him but was met with his body blocking your vision and his arms caging you between his towering stature and the door. Fierce eyes peering at you, staring right into you that you think he's looking at your soul.

"You mentioned stupid Mammon earlier, and said you thought he came by again. Does he.. visit often?" He asked, raking his eyes over your entire body as he talked and landing on your own eyes.

"N-not really. He comes by pretty late sometimes and clings to me in bed--" you replied, a blush starting to heat up your cheeks.

"Clings?" Lucifer asked, the reds in his eyes glowing a little bit more than earlier.

"W-we don't do anything else I swear! He just cuddles me out of nowhere--" you said as the blush crept down to your neck.

"Unforgivable," he bitterly said as he suddenly kissed you, cupping your cheek with one hand. You whimpered at the sudden kiss, but didn't complain. Lucifer's kiss was soft and tame, the complete opposite of what's going on in his eyes which have turned a true crimson red. He pulled away from the kiss and sighed.

"I guess, there is still some things I get jealous about," he said before taking your lips again. This time the kiss is hungrier, more passionate, almost feral.
