My aunt is very sensitive to strong scents (buys my deodorant so that we know it won't harm her, because other than a couple brands, they give her migraines, we don't have scented candles, and I have a couple of perfumes, but I never wear them), so we're super careful there, but we also can't go into some stores because the perfume counter is Right There. When we go shopping, she knows to look for me in the candle aisle because I'll stand there sniffing each candle and giving a review to whoever is with me at the time

so weird how a fragrance can smell so good in the bottle but like actual ass when it’s on you and mixes with your ph and blah blah whatever. i tried terra di gioia on me and the smell reminded me of a public bathroom i can’t explain it

get on the Valentino Coral Fantasy train it smells sooooo good!! some reviews say the scent doesn't last long which i think is somewhat true like it obviously decreases in power the longer the day goes on, but i can still smell the perfume on myself at the end of the day so idk maybe those people just have dif skin chemistry than me 🤸‍♀️ i also like to spray on my clothes which holds scent better. i got that compliment from our gardener after many hours of wearing it, like after six hrs of initially putting it on, so i think its still noticeable to others and the wearer just goes noise blind to it. its a very nice, simple fruity summer scent to me.

another i love and got a lot of compliments over (and i mean a lot) was actually the Philosopy Ballet Rose scent. i wear it less now bc it reminds me strongly of high school when I wear it lol, but its a really nice rose scent if you're into that. i wore it all year long i think it worked for any season and still does.

oh I only really got into it very recently so I don't know that much about it other than like, really specific stuff about certain compounds because I learnt about them in a different context that led me onto learning about their use in perfume.

in terms of perfumes we like, we normally wear Drakkar Noir which was kind of an impulse purchase because we wanted to start wearing perfume and didn't know what else to get, and I do really like the smell of it, but I think it'd be nice to try some other scents at some point to see which ones we like.

I'd like to learn more about how different scents interact with each other and how perfumes are formulated based on that because I think the science behind it is really cool

omg my mom just gave me a sample of killian angel's share (perfume, she gets hella free samples of things and I get a lot of them from her because i love samples and she doesn't use them-we have a system) and that price tag for full size is breaking my heart because it smells. SO GOOD. thank god for perfume dupe companies because dear lord I could buy another switch lite with that. I could buy a week of groceries for my 6 person household. I could buy SO many trader joe's frozen tikka masalas, my beloved.

immediately in the bottle AND on my skin i get the blackberries and the violets. the earthy note comes through on the drydown which grounds it and keeps it from being TOO fruity. sad that this is discontinued but not TERRIBLY sad- it's not really my specific thing. i do like it though!

I love using different scented products like it's a fudgin color palet. I smell so nice, but what smell is it? It's a blend of me! Lavender and blueberry here, some jasmine there, and mint, lemon, & honey too. Idk it's gender affirming in a weird way.
