So…
As we feared Fate isn’t coming back… there were a lot of problems between the creator of the winx and the producers of Fate, or so I’ve understood.
Iginio Straffi is developing a reboot of the animated series as well as trying to come up with a live action movie. I mean I get why he wanted to cancel the show. When you create a world very well loved and stablished only for a big company to smash it down to a mediocre, dark and edgy shitshow (at first glance), I get why that would be upsetting.
Tumblr media
Nevertheless I find it really upsetting for the show to end so abruptly. You could have at least waited and end it with a third season and FINISH THE STORY, not leave it hanging as they did.
Yes, it was like a Riverdale 2.0. But the show was on it’s turning point and they didn’t give it a chance.
I’m excited about the prospect of a movie with transformations and the sparkle that lacks on the show and a reboot, but they can’t fill the empty space they’ve left me with the cancellation and the unfinished plot of the show.

So I'm sure most of the Fate: the winx saga fans have already heard the news, and if you haven't yet: Netflix has decided not to continue with a S3 for Fate. Lots of people are dissapointed in Netflix' decisions, especially if you consider the fact that they dó continue True Crime series which harm victims and their family's/friends. And yet they stop (fantasy)series people actually do enjoy.
For this reason a petition has started by someone with the hopes of Netflix reconsidering their decision to discontinue Fate. Feel free to sign and share!

I'm so not normal about this right now but this NEEDS to be said
Ethari knows
We don't know exactly how the lotuses work, but I hc that when Rayla went to save her parents and Runaan, she essentially 'died'
Ethari is watching Rayla's flower sink into the water, similar to Runaan's, and just being overwhelmed with grief. She was alive just days prior. She returned his moon bather thing? He's lost his daughter and husband. Then, through the tears, her lotus rises again, and then through the corner of his eyes, he sees something he thinks he'd never see again . Runaan's lotus slowly rises to the top. He doesn't know how it's possible, but Rayla brings her husband back from the dead.
Certifiable roller coaster of Emotions for Ethari in less than 10 minutes.

I realize that he likely sees Penelope only as his little sister’s friend but ever since Anthony Bridgerton dismissed Colin dancing with Penelope in season 1, I’ve wanted him to have a glimpse of her undeniable hotness and be unable to deny it. So here’s what that part of me wants to see in season 3:
Anthony & Kate sneaking off to his study for a little privacy during a party only to find it’s occupied by Colin and Penelope and Penelope is looking extremely voluptuous and sexy at that particular moment. So much so that Anthony can’t help but give a congratulatory nod or some other sort of cheeky acknowledgment to Colin (not because he wants Pen obviously, because Anthony only has eyes for Kate) because he’s happy for his brother who’s an undeniably lucky man to have a wife as perfect for him as Penelope… and because she’s clearly not a meek wallflower in the bedroom.

Btw the problem with Fate is that the cartoon had so many wonderful heart wrenching (if kinda weirdly written) stories between the characters, that could have so easily been adapted into live action. They just decided to take the name of Winx, and some of the characters names, and leave behind all of the substance that was already there. Jsyk.
Yeah that’s typically what Netflix does when they pick up shows for their catalog. It was an adaptation which means you use certain parts of the story but you turn it into your own. Had the creator of Winx been spearheading the show he could have fought tooth and nail to give you all what you wanted. Writers and producers don’t always get the final say in shows a lot goes through the company they are under (didn’t know that until someone pretty much told on Warner Bros.). Because Netflix does not own the rights to Winx they literally decided to make their own through someone else and just used the titles.
Now I’m not saying it wouldn’t have been nice to see the back stories winx created but this isn’t Disney where they own the rights to the marvel creators material. Not to mention based on the episodes I’ve seen of winx if it was as bright and cutesy it wouldn’t have gone into production because that is definitely not what Netflix would want. But who’s to say overall we wouldn’t have eventually gotten each individual characters back stories. I think in season 3 we would have learned Flora’s background, Aisha’s, Rivens, and maybe some more of Musa’s could have found out Musa wasn’t really Musa. Would it have been like the cartoon, no probably not but it probably would have had some of the elements fans enjoyed about the OG.
I do understand where you’re coming from but I also learned that directors, writers and producers do not always get the final say in scripts when it comes to big companies like Netflix. Could things have gone differently sure if Netflix owned Winx Club but since they don’t they literally took the characters you loved and changed the story it wouldn’t be an “original” for them otherwise. I think had Brian gotten the budget he needed and wanted we would have seen him sneak in a lot of what the Winx fandom wanted and loved but when you’re working with Netflix you have to tread lightly and they usually don’t give shows the budgets they need or deserve. I mean how else would they pay for actors like Dwayne Johnson, gal gadot, Ryan reynolds, Chris hemsworth, Charlize Theron and a bunch of other heavy hitting actors that know how to make box office money. With Netflix expect less, just set the bar on like a table or the floor when it comes to OGs asking “will we get what we want?” Nope, no not with Netflix.

Colin does not like Penelope’s suitor and begins calling on Featherington house daily to chaperone their visits even though Portia Featherington is not happy about his meddling which makes Colin even more attentive since he suspects Portia would marry Penelope off to any man who offered and the idea makes him sick.
Suitor: I hope to find a wife who appreciates my spontaneous nature. Someone who would run off to Gretna Green to elope for the simple adventure of it.
Colin: That would be terrible, Penelope is a lady, she would hate that. She wants a grand wedding.
Penelope: That is untrue. I think that the idea of two people in love who cannot wait to start their life together is terribly romantic.
Colin: No gentleman would encourage something so scandalous.
Penelope: Oh, I am certain that in the right circumstances, even you could be convinced to run off and elope. Just not with me.
Suitor: How fortunate for me that I am better suited for you Miss Featherington.
Penelope: Mr. Bridgerton is merely being a protective friend. I’m afraid he thinks himself my brother these days. Isn’t that right Mr. Bridgerton?
Colin is visibly bothered but trying to seem nonchalant.
Penelope locks eyes with Colin and the look in his eye is something she’s never seen before.
Colin: Forgive me, I want the best for Miss Featherington. She deserves to have her heart’s desire and the wedding day of her dreams to a man who is truly worthy of her. And such a man would never wish to bring scandal upon her or deprive her of a proper wedding surrounded by the people who care for her most in the world.
Penelope: Please forgive my friend. Your talk of elopement has clearly threatened to deprive Colin of the great love of his life… wedding cake. Do not fret Colin, if we do elope I shall mend your broken heart by having a wedding cake prepared just for you. I shall even have it soaked in rum like the one we shared at Anthony’s wedding. But you won’t have to share it with me at all. Would that please you.
Colin: You know me well Pen, I do love… cake. In fact cake has been my comfort for years and I would truly be lost without it. And now that my secret love for cake has been revealed, I do hope that you will think of my poor heart and promise to never elope.
Penelope’s suitor just sat there watching, suddenly suspicious of his intended’s cake obsessed friend.

The angels don't have to ask to enter the bookshop.
DO NOT ASK NEIL ABOUT FAN THEORY.
We've been operating under the assumption that BOTH the angels and demons have to ask to enter the bookshop, but I don't think that's true. I'm pretty sure it's one of our red herrings for season 2.
Continued under the cut.
When Gabriel shows up to the bookshop nude and oblivious, the doors are closed and (I believe) locked. Gabriel doesn't even know who or where he is, so he does what the default is... he knocks, and asks "Can I come in?" Aziraphale is frightened at first and tells him he can't come in but eventually our angels empathy wins and he says "Alright! Just... just get in!"
>> It's never clear that Gabriel would have physically been unable to come in otherwise.
When the Archangels show up Aziraphale literally cuts them off before they reach the door of the bookshop. Saraqael suggests, "Shall we discuss this inside?", and Aziraphale continues, "By all means. Would you like to come in?"
>> If Aziraphale hadn't rushed out to meet the angels, why wouldn't they have just walked into the bookshop like they did numerous times in season 1? Additionally I am fairly certain Aziraphale's "By all means. Would you like to come in?" was added in post via ADR. That doesn't necessarily add credence to anything, just an observation.
When Muriel arrives to surveil Aziraphale they ask, "Great! Well, could I come in and do it inside please? Only cause it's really noisy out here and I can't hear anything." Aziraphale replies, "By all means."
>> Muriel is an endearing angel who doesn't know much about life on earth, but had the shop been open and unlocked at the time of their arrival, they might've just wandered in as well.
We're never told the angels *can't* enter the bookshop explicitly like we are for the demons. We've always just assumed the same rules apply to all of the ethereal and occult beings.
But then, might I ask, why does Aziraphale tell us "Technically, this bookshop still counts as an Embassy"?
If the bookshop is still an embassy, the angels wouldn't need permission to enter, they would still have jurisdiction, and would still be able to monitor what's going on there... yes?
Let's compare this to the demons attempts to enter the bookshop, because Shax states clearly that she can't enter without permission. We see this again when she tries to get into the Bentley after it's canonically 'our car', and therefore at least partially owned by an angel.
I'm pretty sure John and Neil make a point of having the angels all ask in some way to enter, and Aziraphale seem to grant them permission as a red herring. They don't need to, but they want us to assume a false sense of security, to think that the bookshop is a safe space for our duo, outside of the reaches of both Heaven and Hell.
Technicalities are big in season 2 and I definitely think they're a huge underlying string running through all of Good Omens. In season 1, Crowley and Aziraphale stop Heaven and Hell from trying to restart Armageddon on a technicality. Gabriel and Beelzebub don't technically know if the great plan *is* the ineffable plan! It's definitely a favorite trope of Terry and Neil's to mock unfair, broken, bureaucratic systems, and Heaven and Hell are a PERFECT example of this.
**Somebody has written a meta on technicalities, I know I've seen it but I cannot for the life of me find it so if anyone could tag me so I could link it that would be brills! (Yeah that's right I'm adopting that from Charles from Dead Boy Detectives, 80's british slang ftw, I'm obsessed; please watch it, please, I need a second season.)
Neil has mentioned that the plot for season 3 might've had to be changed from he and Terry's original vision a bit, based on the political climate of the current day, and I'm sure that means we'll see some technicalities being the downfall of Heaven and Hells systems in Season 3 as well. I don't think the metatron is a villain, nor any of the other angels or demons. They're just fulfilling their function, following a set of rules, very much to a fault. This is all just God's big experiment after all, freewill, choice, eating the apple, and the angels and demons aren't exempt.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of technicality about the angels and demons themselves in season 3. We've seen that they're of the same stock, and we know Crowley at least is technically still the same person he was when he was an angel... more or less. Could the book of life end up revealing something like that the demons still exist perpetually as their angelsonas? A technicality, if you will?
Given the bookshop is still technically an embassy, is everything that happens inside observable by Heaven? Can they access the bookshop in their Earth Observation Files? There is some questionable blocking surrounding the bust in Aziraphale's bookshop, coupled with a curious record cover from Maggie's bookshop pointed out by @noneorother
Tumblr media
Anyway... Let me know your thoughts. I haven't been posting as much, I have been mega busy and I'm trying to be thankful for it. Love you all, hope you have something nice happen for you today! <3

I've been playing around with different ideas recently while trying to get back to writing.
One of the fics that resulted from it is inspired by a particular scene in Bridgerton Season 3. IYKYK 😉 The idea is a bit silly, but I'm having fun writing this story. Also just like the scene in the TV show, this story is quite sweet and romantic, which is always sth I enjoy. Romance ftw!
The below snippet comes from that as of yet untitled fic. Hope you enjoy! 😊

He swallowed and finally looked at Madara. The alpha's brows were furrowed and, if Tobirama didn't know any better, he would have said the man looked… worried.
“Uchiha-sama,” he managed to say, his voice sounding off to his own ears.
“Yes?” Madara asked as he stepped closer. “What is it, Tobirama-san?”
Was it normal, Tobirama wondered, for one's heart to hurt so much when the object of their affection was so close and yet so completely out of reach?
He was lucky to call Madara a friend, he knew that. It was good enough, especially now that whatever was left of Tobirama's reputation was in shambles. No one wanted to be seen around a fallen omega, but Madara had come to offer him comfort and friendship regardless. It was greedy to want more, but Tobirama couldn't help it.
“Would you… Can I ask you something?”
“Of course,” was Madara's immediate response. He stepped a bit closer still and gently took one of Tobirama's hands in his own. “Anything, Tobirama-san.”
Tobirama hesitated. What he wanted to ask for was selfish and frivolous, and, most of all, incredibly stupid.
Would Madara take offence if he made his request? Would he laugh and make fun of Tobirama for it? Would he leave and never come back?
He squeezed his eyes shut and took a deep, steading breath.
“Can you kiss me?” He asked. “Please?”
The silence stretches between them for what felt like eternity. When Tobirama gathered the remnants of his courage to look at the alpha, he found Madara looking at him with wide eyes, his mouth ajar as if he was going to say something, but forgot what it was he wanted to say.
“Y-you don't have to,” he quickly assured. “I just… I have never been kissed. And I don't believe there's much possibility of that happening now, after everything, but I d-don’t, don't wish to die without ever being kissed and—”
“You're not going to die!” Madara exclaimed suddenly, sounding alarmed.
“But I could,” Tobirama said, “At any moment. During any mission. I could die and I— I know I'm selfish and that it's unfair to ask this of you, Uchiha-sama, but I…” He blinked back tears, trying his best not to burst out crying. He would have plenty of time to do that later. “I-I just want to know what it's like. To be… desired. Even if it's only play pretend at best.”
Madara was quiet for the longest time. He didn't step back though or let go of Tobirama's hand, which at the very least had to mean he wasn't completely disgusted.
“Alright,” he finally said as he took another step forward and then another until the two of them were sharing air. “As you wish, Tobirama-san.”
Wide-eyed in surprise, Tobirama watched the alpha lean in, their breaths mingling because of how close they were. Madara's other hand cradled Tobirama's cheek while he placed their joined hands against his chest, right over his rapidly beating heart. Tobirama couldn't help but glance down and he marvelled for a moment at how strange their hands looked together – his own pale and slender, and Madara's tan and broad with thick, calloused fingers. For some reason seeing them intertwined made his own heart beat much faster, to the point he felt breathless with it.
It was hard to tell whether it was their proximity or the intimate touch that was making him so shaky. The way Madara's spicy, warm scent wrapped around him most likely had a lot to do with it as well.
“May I?” Madara whispered, his breath ghosting over Tobirama's lips.
All Tobirama could do was jerk his head in an approximation of a nod.
A soft breathy sigh escaped his lips when Madara leaned in the rest of the way, kissing him soundly, but gently. They broke apart for a second or two, but before Tobirama could even think about stepping away, Madara pulled him close once more.
